I had the pleasure of meeting Lori at the Olive Twist and she is as wonderful as her store! Lori was so helpful, answered all of my many questions, and offered up suggestions for other small businesses as well. We love small businesses that support other small businesses! I did an olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting -- everything was SO delicious. We ended up purchasing Tuscan Herb + Garlic olive oils, and Pomegranate, Raspberry, + Traditional balsamic vinegars. But it was incredibly difficult to choose our favorites. The dark chocolate balsamic vinegar is next on my list! We also purchased several varieties of their loose leaf tea. We're excited to add some of their seasoning mixes to our repertoire as well! They offer an incentive for bringing back their bottles, love to see that to encourage waste reduction! In this little local shop is the best balsamic vinegar ever. We have our favorite flavors but have never found one we really did not like. They have a large variety of flavored vinegars in both white and red. They also have fresh olive oils and are extremely knowledgeable about the harvesting and production of high quality oil. I personally favor their roasted almond oil! The flavor stands out when used for salad, although we usually only use some vinegar on our salads. No more bottled salad dressings in our house. In addition there are other locally produced items. We admire the focus on local items and will always come here for gifts when we can. read more

This boutique is southwest of Ft Wayne. They feature all variations on olive oil and exquisite vinegars. There are tasting stations so you can sample before purchasing. I can recommend all heat levels of their oils: Harrissa, green chili, chipotle, and cayenne. read more

I needed a unique but inexpensive host's gift for a dinner party for a host that does not drink and follows a strict diet. I walked into the store and said what I was looking for and within 5 minutes the shop owner and I had talked it over and I walked out with a nicely presented gift box of spices. Taste testing oil and vinegar; by its self ?!!? I was skeptical at first, I must admit. However, it took only a few samples to realize that this was not just any olive oil and balsamic vinegar. They are truly delicious; with flavors like dark chocolate and maple syrup, sometimes you forget your tasting vinegar! The staff is very helpful and willing to give recipe suggestions and pairing tips. Your initial purchase may be a little high (I think it is probably impossible to get out without buying a few different flavors) but, the store offers bottle refilling to help cut down on the cost of later purchases. This store is not just great for any foodie but also great for the health conscious.
