That's how they made the bed after I flipped the pillow.
    Ronen Y.

This hotel has really good location but unfortunately nothing else. We stayed there for one week. Call it bad luck or not, we had a bad experience with poor rooms that the water stopped working 3 times for over 30 minutes meanwhile we took a shower, the electricity shot down also twice and when we went to check it at the front desk, we been told it's a known problem and we should be patient, "whenever it will turn back on you will see" they said. Another bad experience was when they made our beds with dirty red stains on the sheets (looks like blood on the pillow) and left it upside down like no one will notice. Finally, when we asked to move to a different room where the shower literally works, the lady from the front desk got inside our room without knocking the door while I was in the bathroom and I've never felt so embarrassed and surprised to be seen naked by her. I don't wish this experience to anybody!! We just tried to enjoy our vacation and relax. To this hotel I'll definitely won't come back!!!

    Where's the sea view?

Nothing went right. FALSE ADVERTISING: I paid for a room described with "Sea view"... There is no sea view. There are bushes and their bar in front of the room. Photo of the "sea view" attached. Other things that went wrong: - Shower and brush your teeth with Salt Sea Water. - They promote "Single-room air conditioning for guest accommodation" but charge $100 USD per night if you need to turn on the A/C. - There was trash behind our room attracting bugs and a litter of Cats right next to the window meowing all night long. - The toilet is in the same room, 3 feet away from the pillows... so ZERO privacy. - We heard the upstairs neighbors all night long through the poorly constructed wood structure. - There's a night club next door pounding music until 3am. - The girl at the front desks asked a lot of creepy and personal questions about our dog. I requested to cancel 2 of the 4 nights that I paid for and they told me they'd charge 100% of my stay. They say they have no records of my cancellation request (How convenient). I left early and am fighting them for a charge back.

Just another perfect day at the beach!

Now having stayed in the Tulum area in a few different methods- we enjoyed each in a different way…read more Here at LPM, as everyone has said, the welcome was warm and informative. Tom explained via a personalized drawn map of the area- including taxi pricing, favorite restaurants and tips for activities- and all turned out to be very helpful. Checked in to the treehouse suite, which was good size for us plus our 6 year old. Room includes hot water, fresh water bottles, a safe and plenty of large fans- the fans (during out November stay) were perfectly great to chill down at night- even needing a light jacket in the early morning. On the down side, we are used to the nature and the bugs, that is why we come down here of course, and critters are part of it- so if staying on the jungle side, expect to see more ants and things. My main criticism was the gas smell that came through the windows at busy times of the day- because of the generators pumping and the constant taxis outside, the gasoline did bother me. However, the positives well outweighed any negative- we spent most our time out on the beach of Maalix- they were hospitable, we ate and drank in their bar and they were more than happy to accommodate us. Also spent time cooking in LPM's kitchen, which was a welcome bonus of staying in LPM. Pick up a few staples on your way in from town at Chedruai or borrow a bike from LPM and swing over to pick up fruit, veggies, breakfast items, juices, butter, milk etc... Aside from cooking in the communal kitchen- you can find great fresh lobster and fish next door at Simple, yummy brick oven pizza at La Onda about 6 shops down - and then keep going, your options of bars and tacos on the beach are endless. The location, if you want to stay out of the fray of people, even the beaches down on this side are quieter than further north near the town and shops. All in All, it's great that you can pretty much feel free to enjoy the property and the area; no one bothers you about rules and regulations on the beach, as long as you are respectful. We felt safe and well cared for. OH! Try the fresh fruit plate from their cafe in the front on the street side, a wide variety of fresh cut fruits- delicious granola and yogurt. We will be back next time we venture down to southern Quintana Too!

Tom is a superb host and goes above and beyond ensuring his guests are well taken care of. Daily housekeeping service was a nice & unexpected bonus. We had fresh towels (one for beach & one for bath), filtered drinking water, and an onsite communal kitchen area for cooking & hanging out. Enjoyed delicious food and friendly service at the onsite restaurant. Malika and staff are great. The accommodations exceeded my expectations, and I slept well every night in the treetop suite. 24/7 electricity & AC avail from 8p-5a. Great showers thanks to strong water pressure & hot/cold water. Easy breezy beach access directly across the street via La Eufemia. Parking avail for our compact rental car-- which was a real "amenity" considering beach road has very limited parking options. Book directly from the Las Palmas Maya website for the best deal. Tom will take good care of you! Muchas gracias to LPM-- my Tulum vacation was everything I was hoping for & more!!

Overall service was okay. The only positive about this place was the room setting. Very romantic and the view was beautiful. If you like quiet, this hotel would be great for you. No clubbing here. Cynthia, Natash, Pedro and Chucho at the front desk welcomed us and got us to our room and set up with all we needed with a breeze. We even upgraded to an Ocean Front room when we got there with ease. We can be particular people and the staff at Hip Hotel were patient with us and went above and beyond our request. Upon arrival, we met Luciano at the restaurant when we ordered some tacos to hold us over till dinner. Luciano was one of our favourite parts of our visit! He took such great care of us as our waiter at the restaurant. We literally ate there every night of our stay for dinner but one because we enjoyed his conversation so much. We made a new friend! And, his professionalism and efficiency were impressive! We received spa services that were full of magic and healing. We experienced a massage that involved Mexican healing rituals that pleased all the senses! Shumara (My apologies for the misspelling of any names) is a true healer. Do the spa! so good! Breakfast was brought to our room by David, Jorge, and Jesus on different days and all these gentlemen we kind, communicative, very pleasant and fun! During the day at the Beachclub Isal and Juan were so attentive we barely had to ask for much, they were always checking in with us. Miguel worked the night shift and he was kind enough to share with us that there was a meteor shower while we were there and told us to look up at the sky. We saw 14 shooting stars in just a few minutes. Miguel was very interesting and a joy to talk with. Again, we made a new friend! The rooms were great and perfectly simple. Clean. And, the housekeeping staff were all attentive to keeping things sanitized. No TV, wifi was available mostly around the beach club area. This really was our home away from home. And, it was the staff that made it that way! Also, Cynthia at the front desk was so good about helping us with any activities or outside dining reservations. We will definitely be coming back to Hip Hotel. We feel like we extended our family. I hope I didn't forget anyone.. Thank you Hip Hotel staff for a fabulous, relaxing, peaceful, FUN Caribbean beach experience!

Our rooms were clean, comfortable and overall spacious. The beach was clean and very close to the cabanas as well. It really makes a difference when the staff has a great and serving attitude. The WiFi was fast and always working properly. This was good to see because I was afraid the service wouldn't be good, but on the contrary. The cabanas were also centrally and conveniently located to all the entertainment Tulum has to offer. If we were to come back, I would visit them again. Thank you, Maria, and team, for making our stay an unforgettable one.
