We would like to give a shoutout to team members that made our time at the Andaz exceptional: Aaron - breakfast Ka'ana Kitchen Kenji - breakfast Ka'ana Kitchen Chef Rhod - breakfast Ka' ana Kitchen Jeremy - Valet Chase - Lehua Lounge Our child has significant food allergies and the team was accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. Chef Rhod went above and beyond to prep food for Oliver(1.5yo) and we had full confidence in the team and their care with Oliver's allergies. We were upgraded to a Partial Ocean view room. It was standard and met expectations from photos we viewed before the trip. Engineer had to come to help fix some issues with the shower door and two of the sliding door were installing upside down and backward but these issues didn't affect our stay. The room was clean, comfortable and surprisingly quiet for a room located next to the elevator. Check in was a breeze and the valet team were both prompt and friendly. You receive a welcome drink and a lei ( flower for females and kuki nut for males). Amenities were the same as our previous stay. They have activities throughout the day for guests which is nice for families and young kids. Our child loved being by the pool and we spent most of our time there. The beach front access and setups are a huge plus for this property. You can snorkel right off of the beach and see fish and sea turtles. Overall, we had another great experience at the Andaz Maui and will return again in the future.

Kenji provided top notch service as he continually checked on us, pouring water and refilling coffee, as we picked up food at the buffet counters inside. The grounds are beautiful and worth a stroll to walk off some calories!

In the spirit of improvement, I wanted to share that concierge left much to be desired. While they were all very nice I found them disorganized, slow to respond and just not the quality or efficiency I would expect from a Four Seasons. I emailed over a week before our trip asking for dining recs, activities and car rentals and at first didn't hear back for a couple of days. I then called to follow up and got a response but information was provided piecemeal. I had to talk to 3 different people in order to get most of my questions answered (but not all). I had to repeat myself often in emails and do duplicate work to get things booked. Getting everything squared away though (activities, and dining reservations etc.) took hours of emailing, phone call chats and in my opinion should have been more streamlined. Of the folks I spoke to, I found Melissa the most helpful and wished more of the people I spoke to were as helpful as her. Eventually I had to resort to just booking dining reservations myself - no big deal but I feel like part of the value proposition of a FS is that they do all of these things for you. When I spoke with the third person to ask for dining recs all her top ones were the hotel restaurants which is fine but I'm calling because I want to go beyond the hotel walls. The restaurants at the hotel also were fine but not the very best. After a few emails to the concierge I received the dining guide and info on things to do with the kids when this would have been helpful to receive from the beginning. I know that part of the challenge is the revolving door nature of a concierge at some hotels, with different people working each day and having to re-read past email threads etc. but I'm sure there's a solution for this.

It's also located next to The Shops at Wailea, a luxury shopping mall. We were told that the resort was in the shape of a turtle, and once that was mentioned the resort map made it obvious. The resort is along a string of luxury hotels right by the water connected by a walking/running path. In the morning you'll see tons of people along that path. We got a double queen bed with ocean views, and the bathroom contained both a tub and a shower. The resort amenities include but are not limited to a gym, multiple pools (including an adult-only one), lounge chairs, cabanas, water slides, and a spa. The spa had complimentary fitness classes which we took advantage of. Some of them were on the beach and in the fitness room, but some are paid. There are activities like massages, sound baths, and other types of wellness activities. To use the pool amenities you need a wristband which you get by one of the covered areas. Only valet parking is available for $80/night. They also have a on-site luau which I went to although I've been to better ones. There's a chapel and we even witnessed a wedding during our time there. We also went to Nobu at the resort which I enjoyed. Although it's a luxury resort, some parts of the resort were outdated and broken such as the room signs. The room interior was modern but some exterior parts of the building were on the older side. The location and the views are definitely the selling point of the resort, and it's a place you want to stay at to take advantage of the views and amenities.

Apparently it used to be a Japanese club called the Diamond, but was converted to a hotel after seeing the club die out. I booked this hotel for a variety of reasons. The biggest reason being that this is an adults only hotel. Upon doing my research of Maui, I figured that the south west side was probably going to be better for calmer waters and a more tranquil place for a relaxing vacation with my wife who is expecting. I am glad I chose Hotel Wailea rather than other hotels around the area including Grand Wailea or Four Seasons. Another reason is that I was able to book directly on their website and save some money on their insider rate (nonrefundable). I always try to book directly so that it benefits the hotel. It also benefits me because I was able to save 30% on the rate and got a few bonus perks. It was a little bit of a gamble due to the extreme weather that they had prior to coming, but luckily everything worked out and the weather was beautiful during my stay. Being a smaller hotel, I noticed more attention to detail and much better service than any other hotels that I have stayed at in the past. Upon coming to the hotel with my rental car, the valet service greeted us and took care of all our bags and showed us to the check in area. We were greeted with a flower lei for my wife and a kukui nut lei for me. The check in process took a few minutes to explain the layout of the hotel and details. We got a free valet parking since we stayed 5 days at the hotel and also got a $100 dining credit. I am glad we got the valet parking since I read that the parking spots can be tight and distant from everything. The valet took us to our stay with a golf cart loaded with our luggage. Upon entering our suite, there was a welcome gift including some chocolates and alcohol free champagne. The suite is filled with everything you need. They have a fridge stocked with soft drinks and sparkling water that is all complimentary. They also have bottles of water and you can request more. You are able to take beach chairs, umbrellas, parasol and towels to the beach. They have shuttle rides that can take you to nearby area up to a certain distance. They will also pick you up if you call them. The shower and bath had the best water pressure I've seen anywhere. The bathtub was huge and it actually filled relatively quickly. They have a TV in the bedroom and in the lounge area. The outdoor patio provided a really nice view towards the ocean, garden and sky. I stayed very close to the gym which was a huge plus. I was able to use it every morning and was the only one there every morning prior to sunrise. Working out pre-sunrise to sunrise in a open door setting was a great experience. They have some unique free weights that mimics a natural wood look. There is a row machine, a coupe of treadmills, elliptical and peloton for cardio. Other basic machines that uses a pulley and weight system are available. They have several yoga mats as well for any floor exercises. The pool area seemed busy during the day so I went after sunset mostly. The water is heated so it is very comfortable. There is a beautiful sunset view from the restaurant or from the birdcage. Depending on who you ask and what circumstances they have, it could vary what expensive is, but it is certainly not cheap or affordable here. You are paying for more than just a view here. The entire experience is curated for you. The staff here does a phenomenal job at keeping this property well-maintained and running. The restaurant and hotel has a premium price, but for a premium experience. There are other experiences here that you can book on their website or contacting the front desk. The front desk, housekeeping and valet were all so easy to contact with the phone in the room. We tried the in room dining once and although it took some time, it was a nice experience. Known for its tranquil adults-only atmosphere, attentive service, and luxurious amenities, Hotel Wailea offers a beautifully curated and premium Hawaiian getaway that is well worth the high price tag.

Her prices are fair and it was such a neat experience to have a massage in a air conditioned tent in the Hawaiian air! Our Villa itself was beyond clean everyday. I do think ours in particular was a bit dated as far as furniture (each Villa is privately owned, so they're all different). I looked at a million traveler photos before we had arrived of different villas and I again think that part could've been better, but in no way was I disappointed.
