You know this one stay budget-friendly, not fancy-schmancy resort kine. And that's why I start off strong: five stars for value, cuz you getting exactly what you paid for, maybe even one notch above. First off, the location? Cheehoo, unreal. Right off the airport blink twice, you there. Middle of everything, perfect for one quick in-and-out stay or when you running Maui on one budget. The open-air vibe, that lighted-up pool, the little fireplace area... Me and my wife call 'em Motel 7, cuz it's one step above Motel 6 but still Hawaiian-style cute. King bed, tables both sides, modern TV, lil' fridge, coffee pot, desk, AC blowing cold, plenty lights, and even those old-school pics of Hawaiian girls up in the mountains. From our window? We saw water, mountains, the whole scene. That alone made me go, "Shoots, five stars." Could I walk around and point out da cracks? Sure. Place get age, no lie. But my room? Clean, brada. Like no dust on top the pictures, no grime hiding on the desk, no weird smells. Clean sheets, clean bathroom, everything tight. And you know what? I never heard one peep all night. No drama, no yelling down the hall, no slamming doors. Just solid sleep as much as you can get after running around Maui all day getting sunburnt and grinding shave ice. Walking into the lobby, the set-up get charm. Cute, simple, island feel. And I've written my share of rough reviews, but I like be honest not everything in life is broken. Sometimes you gotta judge the thing for what it's meant to be. If you buy one used car with 100k miles and the price is right, and the tires good, and the engine runs that's still a good deal. This hotel? Same story. Good deal, good value, good stay. And hey the Aloha was real. Staff friendly, smiles all day, no attitude. Hit the pool twice; everybody chill, nobody acting wild, just laid-back island vibe all around. That's worth something too, yeah? All in all? Solid stay. Clean. Peaceful. Friendly. Good value. The staff were friendly and helpful at check-in and check-out. The central part of the property adjacent to the lobby and pool appeared quite nice and well maintained. A nice feature is the ability to walk through pool area onto the narrow beach. The hotel is near the harbor, so the quality of the water is uncertain. The primary reason for the three star rating is the poor maintenance of the annex building where our room was. The exterior of the annex clearly needs improvement. Our room had lots chipped paint and wood finishes. The bathroom door was missing some of its painted veneer. The bathroom had been repainted but there were paint splashes on the mirror wood trim. The bathroom ventilation did not work. The curved shower curtain rod over the tub was loose on the wall and bending slightly toward the floor, as if someone had tried to do chin ups on it. The end of the shower curtain kept sliding down the curved curtain rod and away from the wall, which made it impossible to not get water on the floor. The air conditioner cycled on and off in a very annoying fashion. The compressor came on and ramped up to speed and the fan would blow for 30 to 60 seconds and then it shut down only to repeat the process in another five minutes or so. We probably should have set the fan to a continuous setting, but it honestly didn't occur to us. There was no daily maid service during our 2-night stay unless we requested it. All in all, our stay was fine, but not great. read more

DON'T BE FOOLED!!! Checked in after 6pm for our 9 day stay and our room wasn't ready so we got an "upgrade" "Upgrade" included (room 109) -Water temperature fluctuating from super hot to super cold, no in between. -Toilet didn't have enough pressure, wasn't flushing properly. -After settling in and unpacking 9 days worth of clothes, we had to inconveniently pack and move rooms because there was a leak above the toilet that ruined my toiletries. It looked like there was also some water in the ceiling on top of the shower head. -Cracks in the patio cover signaled that the hotel isn't well maintained. -The new room (room114) had a clogged sink. -There was water coming in from underneath the carpet and flooding the restroom entrance. Also, -No daily housekeeping, it must be scheduled. -Requested clean towels to the room, never received them. Not to mention the deposit and hidden fees were crazy. Really disappointing, we tried being understanding but since we struggled to move around we were hoping for a decent reimbursement for the unfortunate events, they gave us a $59 joke for our troubles. It was supposed to be stress free vacation. The one and only good thing about this hotel is the pool and access to the beach. It looks nice but please pay a little extra at a better hotel and save yourselves the hassle. read more

We stayed at Maui Seaside Hotel and overall had a decent experience, especially considering the price. Check in time is at 4pm and checkout is at 11 am. The beachfront view was amazing and definitely one of the highlights of our stay. Waking up to the ocean made it feel very Maui. The lobby is nicely decorated with cute, welcoming décor, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Parking is limited and they charge about 25$ night which is something to keep in mind. The hotel itself looks more like an older apartment complex and could use some updating, especially compared to newer resorts. One downside was the key system, which was very finicky and sometimes difficult to use when getting into the room. It became a bit frustrating after a long day out. We stayed in a king-size bed room, which included a TV and a small fridge. The room was quite compact, making it a little challenging to fit our luggage comfortably. The AC unit was very loud, so if you're a light sleeper, it may affect your sleep. Also it did rain while we were there and the walls are not insulated as much or as sound proof. Overall, Maui Seaside Hotel is a budget-friendly option if you're looking to save money and don't mind a few inconveniences. Idk about the 3 stars, but I'm glad it didn't deter me from booking here. I stayed at the Maui Seaside Hotel because I had a 24-hour training in Wailuku and didn't want to trek back and forth to Wailea. I've lived on Maui for 6 years and visited for over 15, and Maui Seaside has always been one of those long-standing hotels in town. From the outside, it still has that very 80's Hawaiiana look (definitely dated) but don't judge a book by its cover! Parking is available (uncovered, $15), and once you step inside, the newly remodeled lobby is lively, modern, and a little pop-art inspired. I decided to pay about $40 more for a renovated room ($214?), and it was absolutely worth it. The room was clean, refreshed, and surprisingly chic. Even my friend who stopped by said they didn't expect it to look that nice considering the exterior. They offer kamaʻāina rates, which is great, and the attached restaurant, Tante's, has been around forever and is convenient if you want something easy on-site. Service deserves a huge shoutout: I asked for a late check-out that same morning, and they extended it from 11am to 1pm with no extra charge. Total aloha spirit! Another big plus: the front desk is super responsive. Every time I called, someone answered right away. They could also check me in slightly earlier. That level of attention is rare these days and really appreciated. The grounds are nice overall, though a few areas could use some TLC. Still, if you upgrade to a remodeled room, this becomes a very solid and comfy stay. The AC runs cold (62°) the decor is modern and chic. The only downside is being right by the harbor gives you ocean views and that breezy harbor air if the wind blows right. All in all, I Would definitely stay here again. If you're afraid of snails, don't stay here. I hate roaches and didn't see any. Snails, on the other hand, were widespread in the mornings. I'm cool with snails. They're just everywhere. Maui Seaside Hotel turned out to be a hidden gem, tucked away from the crowded tourist areas but still in a perfectly central spot - and only 5 minutes from the airport! It's an easy drive to popular destinations like Haleakalā, Īao Valley, the start of the Road to Hana, Kaanapali, and Wailea-Makena. Plus, there are plenty of great local food options just 5-10 minutes away. From the outside, the hotel doesn't look like much, but the newly renovated rooms were awesome, clean, modern, and comfortable. The pool area is great, and you're only a few steps from the beach, which was a nice bonus. We booked an "ocean view" room, though it was really more of a view of the canoe club next door. Still, being able to watch the sunrise every morning through our room window made up for it. The staff was consistently friendly, always greeting us with an "aloha," which added a warm touch to the stay. Parking was a bit tight, but we never had trouble finding a spot. A detail I really appreciated was the filtered water stations around the property. Instead of buying gallons of water, we could just refill our bottles, and the hotel even provided reusable ones in the room if you didn't bring your own. My only small knock was the lack of an iron and ironing board, there was a clothing steamer in the room, but I would've preferred a traditional iron. Great for the price! It's super close to the airport. There is direct access to the ocean. We explored the whole island and this hotel was centrally located which made it perfect. The staff were super friendly and helpful. They did charge $25 a night for parking. We had one of the newly renovated rooms in the back, which didn't have a view of the pool or ocean but it was perfect since we were hardly there. It is on the north side of the island which can be really windy and gloomy sometimes. But still beautiful read more

If there is hotel pick-up for any package booked, then for most activities, you will be last to get picked, that gives u extra time to get ready. 4. Got the standard room it was ok, neat and clean . Was it worth the price- I wouldn't say, but accommodation IS expensive anywhere in Maui. For an additional $40 p/n, you could get a better room. 5. Room service is on demand- it was fine with me as I literally spread my stuff in the entire room. Also, mine was a short stay and was in the room only to sleep and shower. 6. There was a dryer and steamer in room, I tried neither so can't comment. 7. Nice relaxed view from the pool and other side. They even put campfire after sundown everyday. 8. There is an In house restaurant. 9. There is a locked utility room which has a microwave and a restroom- for use only for hotel guests. This was very useful as I had a late night flight and already checked out. 10. They have a cloak room for luggage. again, very useful. 11. There is water and ice machine on floor 2. The machine gives u option for both hot and cold water. 12. Beach is right there.... Cons: 1. The helpdesk number was useless, tried to get the promoted airport pick up but to no avail. Tried and tried, got annoyed and took a cab. That too after reminding before hand and getting their commitment that its no problem. 2. U need to take stairs to get to the elevator !- kinda missing the point of elevator don't u think... 3. Keys are over sensitive, they come within smelling distance of a phone and they stop working ! I went back and forth many times, so did my neighbor guests ! 4. They collect resort fee of $20+ tax over and above the room fare per night. 5. The coffee machine did not work 6. One of the guests was complaining about repeated plumbing issues. 7. Switched off the AC as it was cold enough, but for standard room it was the old noisy one. Pros do outrun the cons. Overall for me, it was a clean hotel stay with many practical benefits. Staff was very helpful when in person, that was appreciated, also they are available 24/7. read more

The common area at this place is super nice. The parking is a little tight and the rooms are a bit small but it's perfect when you need a day hotel transitioning from your stay to the airport or etc. The pool is nice and cool, which is great for a hot day and the view down to the ocean is amazing and lots of lawn chairs for everyone to relax. Highly recommend this place and next time we might stay here for a little bit just for fun. The room inside has a pretty small fridge so can't hold a lot and we had two queen size beds, but the room itself was pretty small. Last minute travel to Maui for the weekend. Had to find accommodations close to the airport and in the Kahului area, so Maui Seaside was the most affordable solution. Hotel is very dated, large refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, steamer for your clothes. Because of the price, I'd consider staying at MSH again, due to the close proximity to family and the places I absolutely need to visit each and every trip. I don't recall paying for parking? Front desk workers are super friendly! This hotel is so relaxing, just like the island. read more

Honestly I had decent hopes for this hotel as it was me & my boyfriends first time traveling alone. My mom sent us for my birthday & we didn't need anything fancy. We were first surprised at how small the property was compared to the Hilton right next door. The outside is a little deceiving for the lobby, as it was a nice set up. The property overall is nice. It has a small private beach but nothing really fancy. The room itself was underwhelming but would have sufficed. Also there was a $25 a day fee for amenities but I don't feel like there were any amenities, so that charge seemed like a bit much. We got to Maui right before the storm started. We initially stayed in room 108. We thought it would be great being on the ground level but we were wrong. This hotel was completely unprepared for the storm. It has come to my understanding that this storm was much larger than the locals were expecting but I still feel there should have been some preparation. We went out to dinner & came back to water coming in from under our door. We thought it was no big deal but it continued. We then woken up early the next morning with water leaking through one of our lights. We went to the lobby immediately after this happened & requested a room switch. They said they call me when it was ready. I had no updates throughout the day & I had to call multiple times. We finally got to a new room (201) around 3PM, so around 8 hours being in a very very wet room. After we were moved to a new room, we were relieved to be in a dry room. Again, we were wrong. The carpet was SOAKED. The door had so much water damage & it continued to get worse. The door eventually wouldn't even close. It got to the point we didn't even need to use a room key to open the door. Two days before leaving the room started to smell. Probably from the soaked carpet... The staff was nice but no compensation was offered. This was after we had complained about both of our wet rooms. We were going to leave the property & try & stay at the Hilton but all close hotels were booked up, so we just had to endure a purely unpleasant experience. I think the hotel managers & property owners could have done more to compensate what happened to guests while staying on their property. I witnessed multiple rolls in the lobby complaining about the same issues. There should have been more preparation & communication between staff & guests to make the stay more enjoyable. There isn't much to do in the area of Kahului itself. If we had a rental car, it probably would have made it easier. I recommend staying on the other side of the island in Kaanapali or Waikiki if possible. Maybe it was the storm but with my experience, I wouldn't recommend staying here... read more

Maui Seaside. Where the locals stay. With Maui hotels so expensive, this is one of the few affordable hotels. I booked a Kama'aina rate hotel room and a couple days prior to my stay I received an email of several upgrade options which included early check in and parking. I received texts before, during and after my stay. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly hotel staff and check in was quick and efficient. My hotel room looked a bit dated with antique furniture but the room and bathroom were impressively clean. I'm a simple person, the shower pressure was strong, water was hot, AC worked good and the bed was very comfortable so I had a good stay. They also had plastic bags that were a God send because I forgot to bring something to hold my dirty clothes. The hotel grounds and pool area are well kept and clean. The location is close to the airport, mall and has an onsite restaurant. There were available parking stalls even in the midnight hour. I definitely have no qualms in staying here again next time I visit Maui. read more

Pictures are deceiving, rooms are beat up! When we arrived, we were told our rooms were not ready, which was around 2:30- we were told they would message to inform us when they were ready. Check in is 4. We finished eating, around 4:30 we decided to walk back because we never received a text. Went up to clerk and she apologized and had us check in our rooms around 5, an hour after check-in. Don't know what the cleaned besides swapping out towels and sheets. Customer service is ok. The amenities are told to you upon check in. I had to ask. Zero breakfast, or snacks, nothing, but a discount at their restaurant which is just ok. Their lounge area is small, needs more seating, pool, and fire pits, washer and dryer have to pay. Parking for an extra charge nightly, and sometimes it's hard to find a spot, I was wedged in almost every night and someone scratched and banged the rental. Now on to rooms. They have a massive apartment looking complex which was our view out the window. We couldn't open our blinds because of zero privacy, no privacy blinds, just one roll up. Zero ocean or beach view just apartments, small fridge, no microwave, hard mattress, uncomfortable pillows. My back and neck hurt everyday. Shower was dirty, I wore flip flops inside. Floor was dirty in room, mattress dirty, chairs stained, lampshades stained, walls stained. Not worth the price- close to 2k!!! People were loud, walking and staying up, zero curfew times. This is my second time staying at Maui seaside. The first time, the experience was great. I loved it. The second time makes me never want to book here ever again. Another guest and I had an altercation in the parking lot over a parking spot. I had my blinker on and was waiting for the parking. The other guest tried taking it. We were not moving. Security had to step in. I was told to move even though I waited, and had my blinker on and I even went into the spot first. They made me move. They even reviewed the incident and i was still told to move. This incident happened on March 15th 2026 late at night. The security guard was wearing orange and a beanie with black pants. Another issue is that I landed at 8:48 pm at the OGG airport. I called for them to pick me up with shuttle service and the phone number was just beeping. I called over 5 times. No answer. Surprising little gem. I was able to stay in one of the remodeled rooms, no balcony or view but seriously, walk outside. A window view is not why you're here. From beginning to end: -the staff were incredible. Kind, attentive and helpful. -there is a restaurant on site but was closed for a private party (graduation weekend). They did offer a discount if guests wanted takeout but there are plenty of options close. -parking is tight but doable. It was at capacity but not sure if this was due to the many folks showing up for the dinner event. -pool has games during the day, comfy seating and a great ambiance with lanterns and fire pits in the evening. -most rooms will not be around the pool. There is a nicely landscaped "garden walk" towards the new tower of rooms (tower being said lightly. I think there are three floors). -the new remodel room had a small, dorm size fridge, coffee maker, and island area which was wonderful. The only thing missing here was a microwave for reheating some leftovers. -there is a water filling station in the lobby which is super handy. -shuttle to the airport was great. Make sure if you need it you make your reservation as soon as you check in as it's shared with multiple pick ups and will fill quickly. My time slot only had room for 3 folks because of it being filled prior to our stop. Runs on the hour. Uber/lyft is available, prompt and reasonably priced. -I could hear doors and noise in the evening but nothing out of the ordinary for hotels. -there is 24 hr security as well who are also very friendly. All in all, had I been staying longer a microwave would have been the only thing I'd wanted. The new rooms and decor were very nice. read more

Then you have to pay amenity fees for VENDING MACHINE, TOWELS, and use of the POOL. Mind you those fees are not listed when you book, it is only after you receive your confirmation that it is listed. You may ignore it because when you book it will say "all fees included"--lies! You pay and you pay $25 a night for parking. I was told the manage doesn't work til Sunday and is unavailable and today is Friday. Front desk clerk refused to refund so we could go to different hotel. This hotel is the equivalent of a motel 6. DONT BE FOOLED BY HILTON CURIO TAPESTRY COMING SOON CLAIMS. JUST STAY AWAY. Pictures don't lie (unless you are on any of the hotel websites). Look at my photos! I booked the newly renovated rooms since this is older model hotel. Our room was nice with beautiful Hawaiian theme. Double queen size bed. The pillows were nice and fluffy but the bed was a bit uncomfortable. The bathroom was small but nice. Loved the adjustable shower head. We had a microwave upon request. The frid was a small mini frig therefore we had to limit our food & drinks. Thankful for working a/c. The grounds were plush and green. Over all it was clean & cozy! read more

This hotel looked nice from the photos online and the exterior trappings, but unfortunately there were some negatives when we stayed there in reality. The photos on their website and on all the review sites, make it appear that all the rooms are around the pool or garden and have nice bright interiors. That is the farthest thing from the truth. There are about six of those fancy rooms that are around the pool and the rest are down dark/dingy hallways shooting off of the central pool area. We were in one of the dingy hallway rooms. There are some positives to this place, though: -It is affordable and close to a lot of the main attractions. -There is a little restaurant next door called Tante's that is super good. -The pool itself is very nice and clean. -The little private beach area in the back was cool, with a cute row/barrier of large rocks. -The people at the front desk were very nice and even held our luggage for us on our last day, since our flight didn't leave until later at night and we wanted to explore more. Now for the rest of the negatives, aside from the dingy rooms they don't show you in the property photos: -The walls are VERY thin. Be prepared to hear what every single person down your hallway is saying and doing. -The design is VERY outdated. The dark hallway our room was down (and the room itself) felt like a very cheap 80s motel. -Parking was $15 a day. I'm not surprised by that really, but just be aware of that if you are renting a car. -And the worst part - there were GIANT yellow stains on BOTH of our beds (shown in photos). We had to put down towels in those spots where the yellow stains were just to be able to sleep in the beds. While this place did have some good qualities, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it due to the negative aspects mentioned here. A house fumigation brought us and our two dogs (added fee) here for three nights. I had my doubts about the hotel in general, but I'm happy to report I was totally wrong! ENTRANCE: Located along the busiest street on Maui, the motel-like facade is well-maintained. In-house restaurant, Tante's Island Cuisine flanks the open-air lobby that looks out onto the hotel's pool. Buildings are no higher than three levels. PARKING: It's all free, self-parking as no valet service is available. Just obtain a dash pass from the front desk. LOBBY: The decor is trendy with modern lighting, furniture and a water bottle filling station. Self-service luggage carts were available here as the had no bell staff. Live music was happening on this particular Friday afternoon with a tiny audience in attendance. The hotel's ice machine is also nearby, with the empty space next to it doing duty as a pop-up bar that served wine. PUBLIC AREAS: All clean & tidy. They also have the nicest, greenest, weed-free grass I've ever seen! ROOM: We had a requested first floor room due to having our dogs in tow, which was across the pool. Instead of a balcony, we had a relaxing front porch to hang out in. The room was on the smaller size, clean, with a king bed, strong window a/c that wasn't overly noisy and almost-blackout curtains. My only complaint was that the gaudy fluorescent hallway light & bathroom light shared a switch, so there was no way of having a nightlight on. BATHROOM: While the single basin loo is in definite need of a renovation, I loved the bathtub's strong water pressure, shower head and quick drain! While I always bring my own bar of soap when traveling, the hotel's provided product I used for hand washing had an oddly rough texture to it. AMENITIES: A mini refrigerator, hair dryer and coffee maker were the only items in the room. Everything else needs to be requested. POOL: Simple, city-like rectangular design surrounded with modern fire pits and umbrella-covered lounge chairs. Great place to hangout at night. Surrounding noise can be intrusive from Kaahumanu Avenue. BEACH: Not the softest sand but very calm waters due to the man-made jetty's. I personally wouldn't swim here due to the neighboring harbor pollutants. RESTAURANT: Tante's served three square meals daily and also specialized in Filipino cuisine. SERVICE: The male front desk agent was very friendly & welcoming. TOURIST TIP: Two malls are close by. Head to Maui Mall for sit down restaurants and Queen Kaahumanu Center for fast casual dining. We had a double bed unit, room 3029, which was located in the other building behind the main lobby area. Our room was a bit far away but we didn't mind too much since it was for one night. Facilities were clean and really very nice for a three star hotel. Our room was a bit dated, but no complaints other than that. Bed was comfortable for my husband and I, even with me having back issues. Shower was GREAT. AC and fan kept us cool during our stay. Would like to mention one tiny thing though- we asked for the later check out (3pm) which is an additional 60 bucks; no problem. The issue is, in the morning I checked with the desk attendant, to be on the safe side and they did not have our reservation noted. Parking overnight was 15 plus tax. We stayed here on our last visit to Maui. Good value, clean and comfortable. While the rooms are small the beds are comfortable and the view is amazing. The laundry was helpful and less expensive than the place we stayed in Waikīkī. We will be back when we visit Maui again. They do have a free shuttle to the airport. read more

One of the cheaper options on Maui that won't break your bank but is also a nice place to stay. The staff is very friendly and texted us throughout our stay to ensure that we had everything that we needed. There is a relaxing area in the shade just outside the lobby (and the lobby is nice to relax or print boarding passes or get hot or cold water). They also have a nice pool area that has chairs around fire-pit like structures you can turn on at night to relax and have a few laughs with others in your party. If you want to dip your feet in the water but not swim they have two chairs in the pool you can lay down on. There is a good view from the pool of the water and just a few steps away is the beach. They offer a few events daily from morning yoga by the pool to live music at night. The rooms are nice and spacious. There are a few options for type of room to stay in depending on size and if you want to have a place to sit out front of your room or not. They have a mini-fridge in your room but no microwave. You have to ask the front desk in order to use the hospitality room. There no zero flow problem in the shower. Definitely a lot of pressure coming at you. However, for my 5'10" and above crowd the showerhead is about 6' up so you might struggle with it. If you are taller I recommend tilting the showerhead up and stepping to the back of the shower. You'll still have to duck head down a bit to wash your hair but overall feels great. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel for your eating pleasure or you can go across the street for great Italian food or of course drive around or order in. Consider this place if you are look for a place close to the airport but far enough away not to hear it. Many tours will pick you up at your hotel as well. read more

My partner and I found this hotel while looking for a centrally-located and affordable place to get a quick night's rest. The following day we had reservations at the crack of dawn to witness the sunrise above Haleakala (roughly an hours drive away). It is also very close to the Maui airport, the town of Kahului and the start to Road to Hana via Paia. I booked a Garden View King Bedroom through their website for the best deal--just shy of $350. They are currently waiving amenity fees (unsure how long that'll last) and there is also free parking which was a perk. There were some interesting people strolling the parking lot so just be sure to not store any belongings in your car and remember to lock the doors. The other thing thing I didn't care for is the hotel was fairly large and split into several buildings that made it feel somewhat disjointed. For instance, you couldn't walk on the grass along the shore from where our room was to the lobby/pool area. There was a locked fence separating us. Upon checking in, we ended up in a room with a partial ocean view. There was a sliding door that exited onto a small patio which obviously had the best harbor views. At night I could see a massive cruise ship's lights sparkling in the distance. Like many hotels, this was either an apartment complex or hotel that has recently been renovated into a hip place to stay. There are various murals, Insta-worthy opportunities, filtered water machine, and ATM machine. Cute indeed. The room was small but all we required. Bathroom was nicely remodeled and bright. A mini fridge, coffee machine, and AC machine all in a small nook with space to hang clothes. Most importantly, the king bed was comfortable. All in all, a fair four stars. read more

Was considering staying here for a short family trip but after the initial phone call to ask about availability and price I decided not to. the person on the phone was annoyed by my questions and sighed loudly several times after I asked simple pricing questions. The staff are amazing to deal with, I needed a ground floor room for the day for my mom to stay away from the sun. We had a midnight flight so this was a wonderful place near the airport to just relax. The view is awesome. Definitely recommended a stay here. I cannot wait to come back. Overall, we had a pleasant experience at Maui Seaside Hotel. The staff were friendly & informative, & the facility & our room were clean. This place has that island cozy vibe we were looking for. It is located near the Kahului airport & "must have" places such as a Longs Drugs & Costco. Another great thing about this place is that it is right next to Tante's Island Cuisine (so travelers can enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner without going out of the premises). My only concern is that the wifi isn't secure & can be weak during heavy rain type of weather. However, we recommend this place to stay for travelers :) read more

Location - great! Close to airport and walking distance to an amazing coffee shop, Whole Foods, the mall, and more. Cleanliness - they sprayed for bugs (good thing), the sheets were stained (throw these out), kinda dirty in rooms, outdated too Price - unreasonable for what you get. No fitness center, no free breakfast, pool has limited hours, no additional amenities. Our poolside room was really small! I'm not sure what we were paying for. We've stayed in other hotels in the area before which were cheaper and offered more. We only stayed here because we were traveling with a group. Staff - the housekeepers were really nice, the front desk staff was hit and miss. Other - (+/-) Glad they had hospitality room with a microwave. Loved being next to the ocean! Had to pay for parking. My journey with Maui Seaside Hotel began before we arrived on Maui. I meticulously looked for hotel accommodations, knowing I did not want to be in a resort area. I nearly booked another hotel but changed my mind and booked here. Reading that it was Hawaiian-Owned sealed the deal for me. Supporting locally owned businesses is a huge part of my values. I read about the different rooms in detail before choosing the poolside rooms. When we arrived and the representative checked us in, she showed me where our room was on the map. I immediately told her I specifically chose a room with a "pool view," and the room she showed on the map was away from the pool in the "tower." I told her I wanted what I paid for. She assured me that this other room was much bigger. I reluctantly agreed and my son and I walked towards the room. I was already dissatisfied over walking past construction to get to the room. We walked into the room and as promised, it was huge. My son was happy but something bothered me. I opened the curtains and saw the very noisy, busy street. I also saw the very "partial" view of the ocean, but the street was the bulk of the view. The noise from the traffic and the view of the street angered me so I immediately called down to the desk. No one picked up so I called again. No response. I told my son we were not accepting the room so we went back to the desk and waited till after the representative finished with another guest. I explained to her that I was not happy with the room, that I specifically paid for the room with the "pool view" and that's what I wanted. I normally wouldn't do this, but honestly between walking past the construction and the noisy street, I would not have enjoyed my stay. She changed our room and when we walked to it, I was extremely happy. The room was significantly smaller, but it was closer to the pool and when we walked out the room we had a gorgeous view of the ocean. Our surroundings were very peaceful and I could hear the waves all night. The air conditioning worked perfectly. Our neighbors were quiet and everyone was pleasant. We had to make reservations for the pool, which was great. They wanted to make sure the pool didn't get crowded and everyone respected that. Every staff member we interacted with wore masks and were very courteous. The grounds were meticulously clean and the views were gorgeous. A couple days into our stay we went to another side of the island to go snorkeling. The beach was overcrowded and very busy. We had fun but both were extremely happy to get back to our quiet hotel. The beach outside our hotel was quiet, very few people. The reason they got a four instead of five stars was because of our check-in experience, the fact that they charge for parking (I did not know this until checking in), and the very slow bathroom drain. They did offer to fix it, but we were in and out the room and did not want the bothered with the workmen. Overall, we both had a pretty good experience. I would consider staying again mostly because the very quiet, almost private beach. Plus the amazing restaurant next door (Tante's Island Cuisine). It just really depends on my next trip. read more

This laid-back, re-designed, family-run hotel that is 2 miles from the airport is about the BEST deal on Maui for those looking to save a little money that can be better spent on activities! Located near Kahului Harbor, this is a perfect central location to explore the entire island. The shuttle van to and from the airport is extremely convenient & comfortable. The staff is SO WONDERFUL! It is diagonally across the street from the restaurant BISTRO CASANOVA and WHOLE FOODS and LONGS DRUG STORE is also nearby. Also try Momona bakery and coffee shop down the street. Staff was very friendly and accommodating to my needs. I loved being able to walk out to the small beach they have. They had a nice pool to swim in and a nice area to be outside and relax. Beautiful inviting view and great customer service Josiah was smiling and happy made me feel as if I was at home.

This place is in a nice location but it's just expensive in my opinion. The room was clean, the pillows were comfy and the air con blows cold. They put the remote console in a plastic bag to protect everyone probably since we all know they are the most infested item in a hotel room. There's a little coffee maker and all the dogs to make yourself a cup which is always nice to get your day started. This last visit I had to pay $15/night for parking. If you go to the restaurant on-site, they give you 10% off so I guess that's a plus too. Don't recall if there are any restrictions though. I did think at night, the pool looks really dope. They have purple lights in it. My favorite part was just sitting outside and listening to the ocean. The workers are very nice too. No real gripes except the cost but then again it's Maui so suck it up and enjoy the stay. read more
