Perfect inn nestled in a quiet-ish area of Maui. The front desk situation is easy to find. Upon arrival, the receptionist wasn't very helpful. But the later shift receptionist offered great recommendations and assistance. We would have definitely paid extra for a little more space, had we been educated on the difference. The waterfront space at the back of the property is so private and perfect. The restaurant was also so amazing. I would definitely return now knowing what I do. Can be a great value for what they have to offer.

I am very confused about how this place could receive good reviews. This place is very dirty and run down. The website is far from an accurate representation. Their restaurant was closed/looked abandoned and we had to walk through a dimly lit, cluttered walkway to get to our sub standard room (that cost $800/night). Parking is also extremely limited with only 3 spots in front of hotel. We parked in the overflow lot down the street where the homeless also slept. The whole property looks like it's been forgotten. It makes me cringe every time I think where else I could have stayed for $800/night.

What a hidden gem! Paia Inn offers access to a private beach complete with a fire pit and chairs. Room was quaint, simple and just what we needed for a 1 night stay.

I'm a local, I live in Honolulu and I have family in Maui. I am well aware of what things cost and what to expect. I often do staycations on other islands. First off, you will be charged up front (when you book). This should have been my first red flag. Other places will hold your reservation and charge you upon check-out. Second, there is a 30-day cancellation policy. Once I arrived, I was stuck. I was so unhappy with my $900+/night room that I left early and took a loss. They still charged me for my entire stay, even though I checked out. I don't want to list every undesirable feature about this place. Despite the dirtiness and run down facility, the staff was friendly. They have an excellent website and pictures posted. In my humble opinion, that is not what I received.

Such an elegant little piece of paradise. The Paia inn is fantastic. Nestled right on the beach. The amenities are amazing, and the beach is beautiful. It's a very little quaint area and part of town. I absolutely recommend staying here. The best feature about this hotel is the hospitality and the welcoming feeling we received when we arrived. I just want to say thank you for a very special trip and we can't wait to come back. Thanks again!!!!

Pleasantly surprised at how cool this town is and absolutely loved this quaint little boutique hotel. We got room #10 and had our own private sitting area and tropical oasis with our room. The woman at the front desk was very helpful and took us to our room and had great recommendations on things to see and do, we really appreciated that, she was a doll! Loved the beach access and amenities they offer here. Can't wait to return and spend at least two nights here next time.

Surprise Your Senses This boutique Inn has the most customer service practices in place so you feel surrounded in luxury. Great staff anticipating your needs. The shabby chic decors is fresh, clean and crisp. There are top of the line product choices in the baths. Outside the beach area is private and the ocean's roar thunderously loud and simply gorgeous. Cannot wait to return and stay longer.

I am BEYOND grateful to have found this incredible hidden gem. The absolute MOST genuine, beautifully kind, personable, and generous people EVER in life. Just one night into the next day & I immediately feel that shiny new penny feeling that you get from great eats, good people, and a warm & comfy nights rest. Thank you Flo for coming out to get me. As far as first impressions, above and beyond. So kind of you. Thank you Jocelyn for being SO gracious & generous with your time & excellent navigation shares/skills, your enthusiasm is much appreciated. Lucky to have had a moment with you. Tim, Thank you for your warm regards and fun convo upon my departure. You all made me feel like FAM!!!

Honestly, this is about double the cost of other places around. You pay for the hipster vibe, location and proximity to both beach and local shops. Paia is one of the coolest beach towns I've stayed, so what the heck. The bed was a full and felt extra firm like a futon. My hubs loved it. For me, a bit too firm. Although the room was small, it had a communal living room right outside our door with unlimited espresso bar, teas, and they keep everything clean and picked up. Our room fees included parking, beach chairs and towels. Since we really wanted to enjoy the beach town, this was a perfect choice for us. It is right across from Paia Fish Market and Nextdoor to delicious "pizzaria"/flatbread, along with a host of gift shops, Hawaiian ice, gelato, live music, just to name a few. I'm happy we did it, although it was pricey -- it was worth it for the experience this time.

Staying at The Paia Inn , was such a pleasant experience. We traveled each coast of the island of Maui, and this hotel really gave a sense of relaxation, comfort and cleanliness. Our king room was very stylish and very comfortable. The Resturant downstairs was excellent and they deliver to the room.

**BEST BOUTIQUE HOTEL IN PAIA** Paia was such an ideal beach town. Hawt surfer babes, fantastic cafes, and a clean and isolated beach. We had an early check-in at noon (instead of 3PM), thanks to Nina, one of the best hotel staff members we have ever encountered. She personally showed us the private beach access and made sure we were happy with our stay. She also answered all of our questions regarding nearby activities. LOVED her. We opted for a Junior Suite, room #10, a beautiful beach bungalow room with modern amenities and Hawaiian accents. LIKES: *Continental Breakfast *Gym membership to Upcountry Fitness (free yoga and pilate classes there) *Free Wi-Fi (excellent signal) *Free use of snorkel equipment, boogie boards, lawn chairs, etc. *Private Beach Access (most excellent) *Free Ice Chests *Free Parking *Big flat screen tv :) *Fantastic customer service (went above and beyond for my bday) DISLIKES: *A bit pricey ($300+ a night for the Junior Suite), but oh so worth it *Mosquitoes (bring some repellent) *Electricity went out on us 3x (but the front desk responded promptly) We absolutely loved this hotel. Best place we've stayed so far on Maui. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

We live on the other side of the island and while we have an excellent Japanese restaurant (Takumi…read more- try the omakase) we decided to drive over to experience Nuka as it has so many fantastic reviews, and we really appreciate and enjoy Japanese cuisine. Nuka was exceptional. Authentically Japanese, the restaurant is beautifully yet serenely decorated, the staff are welcoming and well versed in the menu and flavors, and pricing is competitive for island restaurants. In fact when you know the healthy ingredients are the best available, locally grown/caught/raised and cooked to perfection it takes it up a notch. We arrived just as they opened for lunch at 11.30am and luckily managed to be seated straight away. I've read that dinner is much harder to get a table and there is a long wait so arrive accordingly ;) Parking is available in the car park next door beside the gym, free and self parking. So, what did we order?......... Grapefruit lychee spritzer - we chose the mocktail version but you can make it a cocktail too. Sooo citrusy and thirst quenching. Not sweet, zingy. Very refreshing on a hot Maui day Miso - earthy, salty, brothy, umami, steaming hot in a bowl to start off your extravaganza of a meal Shio koji cabbage - finely shredded with sesame and house milled bran and seasoning, like an elegant Japanese coleslaw, I loved it! Nasu Miso eggplant - slightly sweet because of the miso, I liked the taste but it wasn't a texture I'm used to eating, which I found a lot in Japan, eg mochi. But I can't fault the dish because of that, the miso umami was richly broiled and it was a popular dish House Nuka pickles - crunchy, fresh and sprinkled with sesame (daikon radish, carrot and cucumber), a good palate cleanser and a nice texture to complement the eggplant above. Not vinegary, just fresh Saba Nigiri - two pieces of moreish mackerel sushi, melt in the mouth with so much flavor, decent sized nigiri too Shiso Country sushi roll - on the specials list, and it was amazingly special! Ahi, habanero masago, orange masago, shaved shiso leaf, ponzu, so many flavours and textures combined into a party in the mouth, with a slight heat build as you ate it. A favourite Miso Butterfish - OMG it looked so amazing and was another popular dish, for a good reason, it is delicious. Melt in the mouth, flaky, savory cod, a nice sized serving, and the miso sauce is sooo good with the buttery fish Lilikoi ice cream - hubby only had room for one generous creamy scoop served with chocolate wafers and decorated with fresh mint. Perfect end to a delightful meal We both felt that this is definitely one of the best restaurants on island, culturally and gastronomically, pricewise and food presentation, authenticity and awareness of local produce....it all adds up to an outstanding dining experience. We will most definitely be returning even though we have to drive an hour and half to get there! "Gochisousama deshita"

As most reviews state, Nuka had a LONG wait time and a line when we arrived even though we came fairly late that I thought most people wouldn't be out eating at that time anymore. However, once we got seated, our order was taken very quickly and the food also came out very fast! We took our server's recommendations on what to order and tried one of the specials they were offering that night, the sushi platter, and a specialty roll. I felt quantity could've been better for the price, but then again, I don't know what to expect for sushi prices in Hawaii. The quality was good though and fish tasted fresh. We enjoyed all our dishes, and I wish we would've ordered more because I didn't feel we had enough food once everything came out. I definitely can see Nuka being a local favorite though and am glad we tried it!

However, when you have to wipe the dust off of your dipping bow and plate, that kinda concerns me. The outdoor tables are located under a tree. Who knows where the "dust" came from. Strike 1. The ahi that was served with the salad was warm. Never had sashimi served warm (and with salt n pepper on it). Kinda scared me, but we still ate it. I truly regret this. Strike 2. The steak was delicious though. Tender and cooked perfectly. The sauce was also delicious. I believe it was a tomato-based sauce and as well as chimichurri. My husband and I shared our plates with each other. We both ended up with painful, upset stomachs that night. Strike 3.

Unfortunately, there were no oysters. It was actually a bit tough to find a place with oysters in Maui (shoutout to Fleetwood's). It was perfect because we ended up just wanting a light dinner, and this restaurant has tapas and small portions. Not a bang for your buck, by any means, though. I was a bit bummed because I wanted a specific appetizer (similar to a wagyu beef tataki), but they did not have it. Instead, I got the hamachi carpaccio, which was still good. I also ordered a spicy rainbow roll. You could tell that the fish was very fresh on top, but the roll itself was just decent. Not worth the $25 and it was also not spicy. I think my favorite food item was the karaage. It was crispy, tender and the sauce was the cherry on top. I am looking at the menu and I realize that a lot of these cocktails are new, which is another bummer because I would have loved to try all of them (guava mojito, spicy lilikoi mezcalita and vana colada -- yes please!) The restaurant itself is so cute! There is definitely a rustic vibe to it. It could look like a treehouse because there's a big tree in the middle and string lights. It is an outdoor restaurant, and there is an extended outdoor section as well that has a little more secluded feel. There's a bar area, but it is a bit small.

We hit up Paia right before our flight back to LAX. It's not very far from the airport and I was bummed we hadn't been told to explore this area in addition to lounging out in Lahaina. There was a line formed even before the restaurant opened but things flowed pretty quickly. While waiting to order I'd pretty much convinced myself that I was going to be disappointed because the menu felt a bit basic. But boy was I wrong. The fish burgers are just absolutely exceptional. I got the snapper and my wife got the ahi. Both pieces of fish were cooked to perfection and were well sized. The bun was top notch and the coleslaw - a dish of which I am generally not a fan - was simply exceptional. At first I thought was a bit weird that they included cheese on the sandwich but that actually worked too!
