Owners Eva and Jim are awesome and have operated the bed and breakfast for many years now and it was such a pleasure to meet them during my stay as well as meet their family and super cute energetic smaller terrier dogs. I was in the Papaya Suite and definitely plenty of space, with a separate bedroom, kitchen bathroom, and the living room! And did I mention, the great breakfast food and other snacks in the provided basket as well as fresh fruit, cereal, milk and other items inside the refrigerator and freezer? Definitely saved me time and money from having to drive to the nearest bakery or market! Yes, this is a real Bed & Breakfast and definitely worth every dollar! There are three other suites available for booking and there is usually no minimum stay required except during certain times of the year like the holiday season or special local events, for instance. Also, guests are offered a 10% discount if they pay in check/cash versus charging to their credit/debit card, and I opted to provide Eva with the check. You will also find two common areas, and one of them is right outside the Papaya Room on the ground level where there are other tables, chairs, and a BBQ. The other common area is upstairs on the lanai, where there are more tables and chairs, and ultimately a lovely view of Kihei and the West Maui Mountains! Definitely would love to come back and stay at Maui What A Wonderful World Bed and Breakfast for the next stay in Kihei and South Maui!

Our hosts were Eva and Jim and they were more than generous with the breakfast and amenities at their home. During our stay in the Pineapple suite, the restroom/kitchenette/bedroom were organized and had plenty of space for two people. It was easy to feel at home within the first few minutes after settling in. Eva was easily accessible for questions about the island/ local recommendations and was more than accommodating for our breakfast options (fresh local fruit, pastries, coffee, etc.). There was also onsite laundry, swim gear, and sunscreen/mosquito repellent. Whatever Eva was managing with guests, we also observed that Jim kept up with quick repairs/maintenance on the property. My partner's favorite part of this stay was the fruit and their dogs!!! I too loved their fur babies in addition to the view from the second floor deck (phenomenal during sunset). We are truly impressed with the hospitality and welcome that these seasoned hosts provided.

We stayed in the private cottage from Apri 23rd to May 2nd, a total 9 nights and loved every moment! We were in Maui for our wedding and then honeymoon and Rick & Dale made sure that we were enjoyed our entire stay! First let me say, we are in our mid to late twenties' and this is wonderful place is for all ages, especially if you are looking for a more romantic/private feel away from the touristy resort area (though Eva Villa is only 5 mins. from some of Maui's best beaches). Eva Villa was our tropical oasis! When we first arrived we were greeted with Rick's warm welcoming smile! He has a way of making you feel like family. He introduced himself, showed us around our cottage, then went over some local restaurants, things to do, pretty much helped us plan our entire trip! He also was so sweet and had champagne and a card waiting for us. My sister had called him and asked if he could buy these items as a wedding gift to us. He even wrote in the card for her. C'mon, who does that? Just so sweet! Let me also mention, even before we arrived Rick & Dale were so helpful through email. They told us where to find the cheapest rental car, explained that it would be best to buy tickets for our Luau ahead of time because they sell out, and answered all sorts of other questions we had. What I loved most about our stay were the beautiful early mornings. You wake up to the birds singing right outside your window. So enchanting! We would fill the bird feeder and would watch the finches eat away. We had fresh fruit every morning, yummy bagels and muffins, and delicious coffee. This place really feels like home! Rick & Dale do give you your privacy and ask you to contact them when you need more fruit, or breakfast items. We had made a joke about wanting a papaya because we had just finished the last one, and literally the next morning Rick went to the market and got us papaya! You can tell Rick & Dale have a lot of pride in Eva Villa and in what they do. The day we were leaving we had to check out by 10am because there were guests coming in after us. We had about 4 hours to burn before we had to head to the airport and Rick & Dale let us come back and shower in one of their empty suites after spending the afternoon at the beach. How freaking nice? You don't find that type of hospitality just anywhere. I highly recommend this place to anyone. We hope to return for a future anniversary. Things I loved: Beautiful neighborhood (great for running, awesome hills), close to beaches, close to great restaurants, fully equipped kitchen (we cooked dinners a few night and had everything we needed), affordable, Monkey Boy(the sweet cottage cat), Hot tub & Pool, outside shower, washer & dryer, beautiful grounds, Extremely clean, Plenty of soft towels, and Rick & Dale(Two of the sweetest people in all of Maui)! Cons: There are none!

The restaurant has been closed for a while. There were no thermostats in the rooms, at night it gets pretty hot with the doors closed and no way to cool off, even with the fan. I couldn't sleep well the 4 nights we stayed. That's the only reason for the 3 star rating. The walls are soundproof, the windows are not. There's also a small room in the main building stocked with coffee and cream pods, ice, snacks, and even sunscreen, which was a thoughtful touch. We stayed in a ground floor room toward the back of the property, which felt very private and cozy. The room was lovely and included a Keurig with coffee pods, which I appreciated. The only minor downside was noise from upstairs, we could hear footsteps/furniture or suitcases being moved fairly clearly. The bedrooms were spacious, clean, and incredibly well stocked with everything guests could need. The robes and snacks in each room were so thoughtful. The grounds are just as special. The gardens are lush and peaceful, and the outdoor furniture is so stylish. One of our favorite touches was the "Aloha Room," which was so thoughtfully equipped with water, snacks, hot water, a microwave, and even sunscreen..details like this really set the inn apart. We were also fortunate to host a small dinner onsite, and the ambiance was truly stunning - intimate, elegant, and quintessentially Maui. Every single guest staying at the inn commented on how much they loved their room, which speaks volumes. Breakfast each morning was lovely, and Lupe, the housekeeper, was incredibly attentive and kind throughout our stay. What truly elevated the experience, however, was the level of service. Ramu went above and beyond in every way - accommodating our special requests, always being available, and communicating with us seamlessly throughout the entire process. The level of care and responsiveness was exceptional. Parking was easy and ample. This is truly a hidden gem on Maui. If you're looking for a place to gather with loved ones in a setting that is both beautiful and deeply welcoming, you simply cannot do better. 10/10, we would recommend it without hesitation.

We have been coming to Maui for over 40 years and enjoy relaxing, going to old and new restaurants and walking the beaches and boardwalks. First time staying here, we won't come again! Pros: Beautiful rooms with very few inconveniences. List in cons! Beautiful pool area and landscaping. Also a few cons! Downtown Kīhei and Wailea not too far my car and more beaches and restaurants to go to. Favorite restaurants: Isana, you can walk to. Beach club, nice staff, good drinks, and great coconut shrimp. Threes, in town, great staff (ask for Josh) and food. Nalu, great for breakfast, lunch or dinner. 30 min walk or short drive. Great happy hour, ahi tacos the best. Monkey pod, but I like the one in Kaanapali best, better views. Salesman Dan Hunter was respectful and informative for our update, not pushy! Beaches nearby: Polo beach, great boardwalk along resorts in Wailea. Keālia Pond National Wildlife Refuge, you can walk the wooden bridge and then the beach. You can walk the beach all along Kīhei, even across the street, it just isn't easy in some areas. Cons: Need a car! The adult pool at the resort was cloudy and dirty from the pigeon's. Never saw them cleaning the pool until we complained the third day. Then they tried to clean it better l, especially after our review and we complained again. They need to do something about the pigeons before it gets better. The other pools were pristine. You rarely see a pool attendant, no help moving chairs or umbrellas. Only the adult pool area have nice comfortable covers, about 25, the rest are very uncomfortable. Wore down crappy cabanas with dirty covers, no TV's working or refrigerators, not that I would use them, but if you have them they should be in working order. Complained to Chanel, day manager who didn't seemed too concerned. She did come down and looked but no feedback expect pool service did seem to improve, just not resolved. The grab and go is really just a small fast food restaurant, no food only drinks. Are room was great except for dirty floors from something they put on them (photo with stain from wet foot). A special thank you to Shermila, the front desk manager. When the storm affected our plans, she was incredibly friendly, helpful, and able to accommodate us for an additional night in the same room. During what could have been a stressful situation, she made everything much easier for us. We really appreciated her kindness and professionalism. Pros: The staff throughout the property were very friendly and welcoming. The resort did not feel overcrowded, which made for a relaxing stay. Our room was modern, spacious, and comfortable, with a full-size kitchen that was great to have. There are a few areas that could use improvement. Housekeeping could benefit from additional training and attention to detail, as the room cleaning was not as thorough as we would have expected. The patio furniture also appeared as though it had not been cleaned in a very long time, possibly since the property opened. Unfortunately, it was dirty enough that we did not feel comfortable sitting outside and enjoying the patio. Another disappointment was the food situation. The website indicates there is a kitchen on site, but there are actually no restaurants at the property, including by the pool, and there is no real breakfast option. There is a bar across the street with limited hours that serves bar food, as well as a grab-and-go area. We received a coupon for the grab-and-go, but the options with the coupon were extremely limited. We were only able to order a premade McMuffin-style breakfast sandwich, while the other items were not eligible with the coupon. Despite these areas for improvement, we are still giving our stay five stars because of the friendly staff and, most importantly, the way Shermila and the front desk team took care of us during a difficult situation with the storm. That level of service made a lasting impression and was very much appreciated.
