Old Lahaina House, oasis in the back.

Cutest place, sweetest people. Felt at home. Recommend to all. Great oasis in the back with a minute walk to the beach and downtown area.

Lounge chair. The pool to our own!!

So lucky to have found this gem!! Everything you could want for a beautiful Maui Vacation!! The pool is amazing. We had it pretty much to ourselves. The room was really nice and has all the same accommodations that that you can get in a hotel. It's super quite and peaceful. The staff are the best!! I can't wait to go back!

Staying in this house was the best decision we ever made! It is a lot different than staying in a hotel and added a lot more comfort. Sherry and Randy were amazing!! Went absolutely above and beyond. They have two cats and some dogs that make the experience even better. Sherry was definitely our mom away from home. She was always available for anything we needed. Randy is the sweetest and is always up for conversation and even shared fresh pineapple with us. They have bikes, goggles, beach chairs, and anything else you can think of. We loved riding the bikes to town everyday. Will definitely stay here again!!!

Everything we wanted and more! Beautiful location close to the beach, close to downtown, etc.... The rooms were clean and the hosts were incredibly nice! Shari was more than accommodating and even gave us a miniature tour of lahaina on our first day. And, you can't beat the price! I will be returning. Mike -from Chicago!

A sweet little place . just a block from the beach. The pool was a great place to escape the heat and read in the shade.

    Having fun in the pool!

Unfortunately, the actual condition of the unit was far from what was advertised. Upon arrival, the carpets were heavily stained and unsanitary to the point that we did not feel comfortable walking barefoot. There were multiple broken floor tiles, mold present in the bathtub grout, and damaged ceiling tiles. The unit was also extremely outdated and poorly maintained overall. Cleanliness was a major issue. We encountered cockroaches in the kitchen, and there were long black hairs throughout the unit, including inside the coffee maker. The mattress was severely worn and deeply indented, suggesting it had not been replaced in a very long time. More concerning was a safety issue: the sliding glass door to the balcony did not lock because the lock was broken off. We reported this and were told it could not be fixed during our stay. After reporting the cockroach issue, we returned later that day to find the unit filled with a strong chemical odor. Pest control had been performed without notice while all of our belongings--including food, our child's toys, and open suitcases--were left exposed. Nothing had been moved or protected before spraying. The fumes were so strong that our toddler began coughing and experiencing eye irritation, and we were unable to remain in the unit. At that point, we informed management that we did not feel it was safe to stay. We were told we would be refunded for all but one night, and we agreed in order to leave immediately. It has now been over a month, and no refund has been issued. We are now being told that no such agreement was made, despite having written confirmation. Based on this experience, I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere and exercise caution when booking through this company.

This was not acceptable to us and what we were offered was a full refund and we could take care of any accommodation booking ourselves, for 14 days, while in Maui, over Thanksgiving. Really? They continue to maintain that this was an upgraded condo, but costs 30% less than the one we booked. I stayed 2 nights, booked AT THE SAME RESORT I WAS ORIGINALLY BOOKED AT and it cost me over $2000 extra. I would never use EPIC reality again!

The free valet was fantastic, and the room was spacious, clean, and had a gorgeous ocean view. We had an issue with our mattress and it was never comfortable. That was the big bummer of the stay. They replaced our mattress after we said something but it didn't fix the issue. When we laid down, we always felt like where laying way back like toward the headboard, feet higher than our head. It may have been a bed frame issue. It wasn't the worst, we just ended sleeping the other way. You have to call housekeeping to get service. That was super easy and they did a great job. All staff on site were wonderful. The grounds were well-kept, and we loved spending time by the pool--there were a few different pools, each with its own unique feel. Surprisingly, we went down the slide several times (haha it's not just for kids). Duke's on the property was a big plus. They had servers taking orders pool side. The food trucks nearby were fantastic, dealing distance away, and so much variety. they're open u til 8pm. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely come back.

Also love keypad entry so you don't have to remember your keys all the time esp when at beach or pool. Love the outdoor grills and beer fridges on the villa balconies. Areas of feedback for the property: We found many of the units to have been in mediocre condition and poorly maintained. Two units have broken a/c's and a third was just barely strong enough. Also had WiFi issues, broken bbq lids, non operational patio fans, broken dishwashers. In the common areas, the gym has a decent set of weight equipment, but is comically small, almost infuriatingly and dangerously so. Every morning and every evening before dinner it was just so packed, you could barely do your sets without bumping into somebody at the machine next to you To add to that, the gym's air conditioning was broken all week (who knows how long before that?) which added to the discomfort. I'm a pretty easy-going traveler and have no problem when a couple of these happen from time to time but seeing them all occur is a clear sign of poor management by the ownership. My TLDR here is it's a good property, but shows extremely poor management and excessive cost cutting, and ultimately becomes a subpar product until that's addressed.

From the moment you arrive, Dan, the long-time host and owner, makes you feel like ohana (family). With over two decades of experience, he has perfected the balance of attentiveness and respect for privacy. Need advice on where to go or what to do? Dan's wealth of local knowledge is invaluable. Prefer uninterrupted relaxation? You'll feel as though you have the entire property to yourself. The house itself, designed in an exquisite Balinese style, is breathtaking. Open-air architecture invites the soothing Maui breezes, while every detail--from the hand-carved furnishings to the lush tropical landscaping--creates an atmosphere of pure elegance. The rooms are spacious, light-filled, and luxurious, each featuring outdoor showers and bathtubs where you can enjoy steaming hot water under the stars or as the sun rises over the West Maui mountains. Now, let me address a key concern for anyone planning a visit post-Lahaina fires: Ho'oilo House and its neighborhood, Launiupoko, remain untouched by the devastation. This area is as pristine and idyllic as you've always dreamed Maui would be. Plus, local restaurants, bars, and attractions are open, welcoming visitors with aloha. By staying here, you're supporting the community at a time when it's needed most--and the experience far surpasses that of a large resort. With complimentary breakfast, free parking, unparalleled privacy, and personal attention from the host, Ho'oilo House offers unbeatable value. If you're unsure, I urge you to call Dan directly. His warmth and sincerity will instantly put you at ease, and you'll quickly see why this place is so special. My wife and I both agreed: if we could redo our honeymoon, we wouldn't hesitate to spend it at Ho'oilo House. Pro tip: While every room is a masterpiece, the Nalu room was absolutely perfect for us. Don't overthink it--Ho'oilo House is the Maui experience you've been searching for. We'll be counting down the days until we can return.

The house is located uphill from Lahaina in a residential area which is kinda secluded, serene and quiet but it's a short drive away from the busier part of town. The B&B is adults only which makes for an even more relaxing stay. Our hosts were very helpful and attentive. When we arrived the front doors to the house were open and there was an envelope with a welcoming letter taped to the door for us. We made our way around the house then outside to the gorgeously manicured garden and pool area, and then to our room. I had an initial moment of shock when I realize there was no key to get into the suite and no way of locking our door upon leaving for the day but then I experienced the most liberating feeling when I realized I really didn't need to lock anything, the house is very safe and all of the other guests (which aren't that many since there's only 6 suites) respect each other's privacy and space. There is a safe in the suite however, if you need to store any valuable items. We stayed in the Kohola suite which was one of the two rooms with a view. Besides the amazing views (especially the sunset views which you may enjoy from your private lanai, from your bed or even while you shower!) the suite had a very comfortable bed, lots of comfortable pillows, an outside shower, a nice ivory stone tub, a small fridge and an electric kettle along with tea and instant Starbucks coffee. Due to COVID the continental breakfast is provided individually for each room as opposed to buffet style. We were asked to fill out a form the night before with our requests of items such as toast, muffins, hard boiled eggs, granola, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, coffee, etc and our hosts would have breakfast ready for us at our requested time. We usually had breakfast by the pool but you can certainly take the tray to your room if you'd prefer a bit more privacy. Also due to COVID, they were not providing scheduled daily housekeeping service which was no bid deal, especially since if we needed any extra towels, coffee or toiletries all we needed to do is let Dan or Amy know and they would take care of it. We were also able to borrow beach chairs and a beach umbrella for the day, they were available on a first come first serve basis. Definitely recommend staying at the Ho'oilo house if you're looking for a stress free, serene, relaxing vacation.
