have been coming to Maui for over 40 years and Pineapple Inn is one of the nicest places I've stayed in. It's about a 5 minute drive to Elua beach which has amazing snorkeling and another block or so youre at the Shops at Wailea. If you don't mind being right on the beach then this is the perfect spot. The grounds are impeccably kept and the pool area is as good or better than Ekahi or Elua. The view from the Wailea room is beautiful and the bed is very comfortable. The food in the fridge is amazing as well and lots of it. Mark was a wonderful host and was always there to answer questions. He really went above and beyond to make my stay wonderful. I will for sure be coming back to Pineapple Inn! Mahalo nui loa for the wonderful experience

This is a beautiful, boutique BnB, located in a neighborhood away from all the larger resorts. The grounds are stunning and the views are amazing! A pool, hot tub, and outdoor kitchen are available for guests. They also provided everything else we needed such as sunscreen, beach chairs and towels, and breakfast items to enjoy in our room each morning. We absolutely loved everything about this location, and even though it was away from the big resorts, it was only a 5-minute drive from restaurants and beaches nearby. Thank you Mark for sharing your special inn with us!

This is a clean and lovely place to stay at. It has a very well maintained yard which is a botanical garden by itself. The rooms and the hallways are beautifully designed. Everything looks aesthetically pleasing. The pool is nice and clean in a cozy corner along with a big hot tub. You would find the fridge fully stacked with food including bagel, muffin, fruit, juice, yogurt and of course cream cheese, jam and butter and they don't mind providing more if you go through it all . Also the staff was very welcoming and nice. We arrived 3 hours early and they let us check in. Thank you Mark for creating this great experience for us.

Upon entering the lobby, the staff greeted us and we found them friendly and professional. We received refreshing face towels, aluminum water bottles and digital wrist bands upon check-in to the new Kai Tower. The lobby in the Kai Tower had a water machine to fill our bottles. We loved using it upon leaving for our day's adventure and again when returning to our room. We found our room to be spacious and clean. A large seating area ran along the wall across from the bed with many large drawers underneath. The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning worked perfectly. When we arrived, we were greeted by the Belman and were directed to check in at the front desk. Everyone was pretty pleasant. The resort is really nice and updated. You can tell it was recently built. Our room was in a tower towards the rear. As soon as you walk into the building, it smells brand new. The room was amazing. They have a long kitchen table with a functional kitchen that opens up to the living room and balcony. The balcony only faces another building so there's not much to see out there. The room also has a spacious bedroom. The bed was so comfortable. The bathroom was really nice too. They provide body soap, shampoo and conditioner. It was amazing to see a bidet in the bathroom. That was the highlight of my husband's trip lol. He couldn't stop talking about it. The grounds are beautiful, day and night. There's a fire pit, cabanas with tvs, large seating area to gather with friends. There are several pools. The pool is pretty cold for my liking. There's one with a waterfall another with a waterslide. They have hot tubs. There's also a "beachfront "pool. You need a key from the towel hut in order to access. We went but seen a lot of kids in it. It is surrounded by bushes so it feels private. Can't enjoy the ocean from it. I will see there is a small little beach where we sat and enjoyed the sunset. It felt like the most beautiful and private sunset ever! In that area there's also a restaurant But we didn't get to try it. The hotel, even though it's updated and gorgeous, It was a little too quiet. We went to the bar and that was pretty sleepy on its own. I understand they are still building so I would suggested on site restaurant and some lively music. Overall great stay.

1 Star - Save Your Money and Sanity, Go Next Door to the Four Seasons…read moreWhere do I even begin with the Grand Wailea? This place has absolutely no business carrying the Waldorf Astoria name, and after staying here, I can confidently say it falls woefully short of every standard that brand is supposed to represent. Rude, Dismissive Staff (Especially by the Pools) The pool staff were some of the rudest hospitality workers I've ever encountered. Curt, condescending, and openly impatient with guests who dared to ask basic questions. There is no warmth, no service mindset, no sense that you--the paying guest--matter. For a resort charging premium pricing, the attitude from staff is genuinely shocking. Overcrowding Like You Wouldn't Believe The pool areas are wildly overcrowded. It feels less like a luxury resort and more like a packed public water park. Good luck finding a chair, walking a path without bumping into someone, or actually enjoying the pools you're paying a fortune to use. Towel Rationing at a "Luxury" Resort They actually limit towels. Let that sink in--you're paying Waldorf Astoria prices and being rationed pool towels like it's a budget motel. Absurd. Chairs Flipped So Fast You Can't Even Eat Breakfast If you leave your chair to grab breakfast, use the restroom, or do literally any activity the resort itself offers, expect to come back to find your spot has been given away. The turnover policy is so aggressive that enjoying the rest of the resort becomes impossible. You're essentially chained to a lounger if you want to keep one. Lost and Stolen Items Because Staff Removed Belongings This is the worst part. Leave your chair for more than an hour and staff will physically remove your items. We lost personal belongings because of this policy. Not misplaced--removed by staff and never recovered. At a Waldorf. Unbelievable. Hundreds of Dollars Just for a Beach Chair You read that right. They charge HUNDREDS of dollars for a beach chair. Which begs the obvious question: what exactly is the daily resort fee covering if not the most basic amenity at a beach resort? It's nickel-and-diming taken to a level I've never seen at any property at this price point. Cabanas Auctioned Off on a Secondary Market This might be the most outrageous part of the entire experience. Cabanas are essentially auctioned off on a secondary market. Some other guest bought the cabana a year earlier, and now existing guests of the resort have to pay THOUSANDS of dollars to that person just to use a cabana by the pool of the hotel they're already staying at. It's predatory, dystopian, and completely antithetical to the idea of luxury hospitality. Bottom Line This hotel is wildly overpriced and genuinely awful. It does not meet--nor even approach--the standards expected of a Waldorf Astoria property. The Waldorf name on this building is a disservice to the brand and a trap for unsuspecting guests who think they're booking a luxury experience. Never again. Walk next door to the Four Seasons. It is night and day across the board--service, atmosphere, value, every single category. Don't make the mistake we did.

The breakfast buffet was pretty good To the ladies or managers or whoever is putting a blind eye on how front desk staff is treating guests, you don't have the right to be disrespectful. However, the overall experience was disappointing and stressful, especially given the circumstances of our trip. This was my children's first real vacation, and we were celebrating two birthdays (mine and my 8 year old daughter) which the hotel was aware of in advance. Unfortunately, there was no acknowledgment at all -- not even a small gesture like a cookie or note, which was surprising for a luxury family resort that promotes personalized guest experiences. We were traveling with three children (one on crutches) and a medically fragile senior with mobility limitations, yet staff did not provide meaningful assistance coordinating accessible airport transportation, forcing us to rely on Uber to make our flight home. The front desk only consistently made me aware of how expensive transportation costs were, as if I could not afford it! I was highly offended. Why would I vacation in Wailea if I can't afford to go to the airport? Why even bring that up? On our departure day, we requested a hospitality suite so our family could shower before a evening flight. Multiple staff members incorrectly told us no such option existed and suggested we use public outdoor beach showers where kids wash their feet off, which is not appropriate for children or an elderly disabled guest. Another staff member suggested that I purchase a spa pass for $75 per person to shower before our flight, but said the children could not shower there. Only after repeatedly asking multiple front desk employees, did Luz, my saving grace, who obviously has common sense, arranged our access to a hospitality suite at the last minute. I was charged $350 for the hospitality suite, but I appreciate her professionalism.
