Wow the place is right on the beach, clean spacious, all pools are heated aside the pool with the slide. It's by a great beach for surfing but not for sunbathing or snorkeling. The beach is short and the surf breaks right on the beach or 150 yards out. Oh yeah, I noticed one guy went out to surf at 7am, and he disappeared. So surf with a partner cause who knows what happened to him. Hope he's ok?

The Old Wailuku Inn At Ulupono

It's easy to…read morefind and offers ample on-site parking, and the surrounding neighborhood is very calm and quiet. The inn itself is beautifully maintained. I especially loved the garden and patio area - it's a perfect spot to relax with coffee or snacks. While breakfast is no longer served, there is a comfortable indoor dining area available for guests to use. There's also a small room in the main building stocked with coffee and cream pods, ice, snacks, and even sunscreen, which was a thoughtful touch. We stayed in a ground floor room toward the back of the property, which felt very private and cozy. The room was lovely and included a Keurig with coffee pods, which I appreciated. The only minor downside was noise from upstairs, we could hear footsteps/furniture or suitcases being moved fairly clearly. It didn't bother us much, but light sleepers may want to keep that in mind.

Although our wedding itself was held offsite, the inn became the heart of our entire celebration - a place where our families could connect, relax, and spend meaningful time together. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the beautiful interior design.. it is curated, warm, and full of character. The bedrooms were spacious, clean, and incredibly well stocked with everything guests could need. The robes and snacks in each room were so thoughtful. The grounds are just as special. The gardens are lush and peaceful, and the outdoor furniture is so stylish. One of our favorite touches was the "Aloha Room," which was so thoughtfully equipped with water, snacks, hot water, a microwave, and even sunscreen..details like this really set the inn apart. We were also fortunate to host a small dinner onsite, and the ambiance was truly stunning - intimate, elegant, and quintessentially Maui. Every single guest staying at the inn commented on how much they loved their room, which speaks volumes. Breakfast each morning was lovely, and Lupe, the housekeeper, was incredibly attentive and kind throughout our stay. What truly elevated the experience, however, was the level of service. Ramu went above and beyond in every way - accommodating our special requests, always being available, and communicating with us seamlessly throughout the entire process. The level of care and responsiveness was exceptional. Parking was easy and ample. This is truly a hidden gem on Maui. If you're looking for a place to gather with loved ones in a setting that is both beautiful and deeply welcoming, you simply cannot do better. 10/10, we would recommend it without hesitation.

While technically in Wailuku, you'd never know it; and this central location was ideal for sightseeing around the island.  The grounds were beautiful.  The sounds of the jungle (especially of the nearby stream) were a wonderful way to wake up in the morning as well as to de-stress throughout the day.    Tamara and Bob were very wonderful and attentive hosts.  Kahu (their German Shepherd) was a loving protector of the guests.  The comfy bed and clawfoot bathtub were lovely accents of the Orchid room (the multiple mini-refrigerators were also quite helpful); and having the lanai for dining and taking-in the ambience was a major plus. We highly recommend staying here, and would easily do so again should we plan another trip to this incredible island.

Hmmm. Thought of not reviewing this place because it was such a find. My wife and I are from…read moreHonolulu and we had a wedding to attend on Maui, so we decide to make it a short relaxing vacation as well. And Relaxing and soothing it was! Iao Valley Inn is run by a couple (Tamara and Bob) who also live and maintain this luscious, green oasis of a property. It's located right outside of Wailuku just as you enter Iao Valley Road. Once on property you could never tell the main town(s) of Wailuku and Kahului is very near. The property is also located near the banks of the Iao Valley stream and its flowing sound is so refreshing and soothing - there is even a waterfall to boot! There are 3 rentals: 2 rooms adjacently attached to the main house and 1 cottage with a detached enclosed Gazebo with a bed away from the main house. We opted for reserving the Cottage and boy were we impressed. If you go to their website the video is every bit accurate as you see it. We've attached some photos as well. As you can see the Cottage is a 1 bed (King Size) with a small living room, full kitchen (including a dishwasher!), full bathroom (just a large shower no tub), the entry has a covered patio area with a glass table for enjoying the outside without worrying about rain. A quiet split system A/C unit is available in the main cottage, as well as two ceiling fans. This A/C and fan setup is great - since you can experience the natural atmosphere without the A/C running - the windows are screened to keep the bugs out and the ceiling fan keeps the natural air moving if you like. The first couple of days were a bit humid so we ran the A/C - but the other days we let the natural air and sounds into the cottage (very, very 'ohmmmm') - if you are into Yoga or just meditating - this is a bomb of a place to practice those disciplines (I did some light Yoga and it was very stimulating). No traffic noise, just the running stream water, birds, wind and bit of rain. If you like 'action' this is NOT the place. The detached gazebo is nice: double bed with an armoire for clothing, lights, artwork, lots of windows (screened) and a nice entry deck. But I think they should at least install a ceiling fan to make it bearable in the humidity. It has no bathroom so if you stay there, you need to walk across the yard to the main cottage bathroom - which as an exterior door for that purpose. Other amenities include a nice light breakfast for the first day (Orange juice, papaya, passion fruit, banana bread, water and Keurig coffee setup), Washer/drier with detergents, beach gear (boogie boards, umbrella, fins). Lots of bathroom towels, Cable TV + WIFI, Alexa and even a BBQ Grill! We were so impressed we are thinking to return again just for the experience of staying put and enjoying all the amenities esp BBQing and enjoying the outdoor area. Thank you Tamara & Bob - We'll be back!

Arrival & Check-In: Our flight landed late, and we didn't get to the hotel until around 10:30 PM. Despite the late hour, we were immediately greeted by an incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient front desk staff. They made the check-in process an absolute breeze and even provided us with complimentary water, which was a very thoughtful and much-appreciated touch after a long travel day. Room & Comfort: Once we got our keys, we were pleasantly surprised by the room. It was exceptionally clean, spacious, and well-equipped with great amenities, including a TV, a microwave, and a convenient pull-out desk. The beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring we all got a great night's sleep. As someone who is particular about hotel bathrooms, I was thrilled--it was the perfect size, and the water pressure in the shower (which is important to me!) was excellent. Location & Convenience: You really can't beat this location. It is literally minutes away from the airport and right next door to Costco, which is a huge plus for stocking up. Because we arrived so late and needed to grab dinner, we were relieved to find plenty of fast food options and food trucks right nearby. Overall Value: This hotel is absolutely perfect for families. It is reasonably priced, and the four of us fit comfortably without feeling cramped. If you need a clean, comfortable, and highly convenient place to stay near the Kahului airport, look no further. We will definitely be back!

In the lobby they also have a nice bistro . Marriott courtyard brand is not a 5 star hotel it's one of Marriott medium brand mostly like a business hotel not for long stayers. Right across from the hotel is Costco and walking distance to Krispy Kreme. Also what i experienced the food truck lot right next door to the hotel . I'm giving this hotel a 5 Star because customer service is suburb along with its convenient location. I received customer service once I arrived normally most hotels check in at 3pm. I got to the courtyard Marriott around 1:30pm the front desk gave me my room already . On top of that my flight departed Maui at 2:45pm so I requested a later check out they honored that as well . Check out normally is at 11am. I checked out @ 1:00pm. Only downside is that this hotel charges parking $15 a day . It's ok although if you're staying awhile it could add up ?

MAUI Seaside Hotel - Five Stars for What It Is, Brada…read more Let me tell you straight if you wen' book MAUI Seaside Hotel, you already did your homework. You know this one stay budget-friendly, not fancy-schmancy resort kine. And that's why I start off strong: five stars for value, cuz you getting exactly what you paid for, maybe even one notch above. First off, the location? Cheehoo, unreal. Right off the airport blink twice, you there. Middle of everything, perfect for one quick in-and-out stay or when you running Maui on one budget. The open-air vibe, that lighted-up pool, the little fireplace area... Me and my wife call 'em Motel 7, cuz it's one step above Motel 6 but still Hawaiian-style cute. King bed, tables both sides, modern TV, lil' fridge, coffee pot, desk, AC blowing cold, plenty lights, and even those old-school pics of Hawaiian girls up in the mountains. From our window? We saw water, mountains, the whole scene. That alone made me go, "Shoots, five stars." Could I walk around and point out da cracks? Sure. Place get age, no lie. But my room? Clean, brada. Like no dust on top the pictures, no grime hiding on the desk, no weird smells. Clean sheets, clean bathroom, everything tight. And you know what? I never heard one peep all night. No drama, no yelling down the hall, no slamming doors. Just solid sleep as much as you can get after running around Maui all day getting sunburnt and grinding shave ice. Walking into the lobby, the set-up get charm. Cute, simple, island feel. And I've written my share of rough reviews, but I like be honest not everything in life is broken. Sometimes you gotta judge the thing for what it's meant to be. If you buy one used car with 100k miles and the price is right, and the tires good, and the engine runs that's still a good deal. This hotel? Same story. Good deal, good value, good stay. And hey the Aloha was real. Staff friendly, smiles all day, no attitude. Hit the pool twice; everybody chill, nobody acting wild, just laid-back island vibe all around. That's worth something too, yeah? All in all? Solid stay. Clean. Peaceful. Friendly. Good value. Five stars because they deliver exactly what they promise and a little more with the Aloha spirit.

A nice feature is the ability to walk through pool area onto the narrow beach. The hotel is near the harbor, so the quality of the water is uncertain. The primary reason for the three star rating is the poor maintenance of the annex building where our room was. The exterior of the annex clearly needs improvement. Our room had lots chipped paint and wood finishes. The bathroom door was missing some of its painted veneer. The bathroom had been repainted but there were paint splashes on the mirror wood trim. The bathroom ventilation did not work. The curved shower curtain rod over the tub was loose on the wall and bending slightly toward the floor, as if someone had tried to do chin ups on it. The end of the shower curtain kept sliding down the curved curtain rod and away from the wall, which made it impossible to not get water on the floor. The air conditioner cycled on and off in a very annoying fashion. The compressor came on and ramped up to speed and the fan would blow for 30 to 60 seconds and then it shut down only to repeat the process in another five minutes or so. We probably should have set the fan to a continuous setting, but it honestly didn't occur to us. There was no daily maid service during our 2-night stay unless we requested it. All in all, our stay was fine, but not great.

There were some ants in the shared bathroom next to the common area, but I didn't make too big a deal of it. Though at the same time, I paid quite a bit of money so therefore you would think the conditions would be a little more acceptable. Funishings were not too bad overall. A queen-sized bed with a TV (even though it didn't seem to work or I couldn't get it to turn on), and a fan. There are DVDs for rent as well, but that's not what I was here for. The hostel is in the ugliest part of Maui. Hostel itself is very unclean. Room was awful and stinked. I have stayed in many many hostels in the 5 years and this is arguably the dirtiest. They genuinely create such a welcoming, social atmosphere and make everyone feel included. Huge shoutout to Emily, Toby, and Kate, who were especially amazing and made my stay unforgettable--but honestly the entire team contributes to the magic here. Whether you're traveling solo or with friends, it's the kind of place where you instantly meet people and end up making memories you didn't even plan for. The staff were friendly but very laid-back, at times it was hard to tell who worked there since they often hung out with guests in the common areas. The building felt a bit unkempt, and the kitchen cleanliness was questionable. My room didn't have A/C, but there was a ceiling fan and a standing fan that helped keep it cool enough. They have a quiet time policy for later hours, which I personally don't feel was enforced. I also heard quite a bit of noise at night, including some things that probably should've stayed behind closed windows. They do offer tours at the front desk where you can sign up, which is a nice touch. I didn't personally try any. This place had almost everything you need--AC, Cable TV, Wi-fi, mini-fridge, coffee maker, Private Bath, Free Parking, and Iron & Ironing Board. The only thing that I needed that they didn't have was a blow-dryer so if you need it, you should pack it! Thanks to Google, I found this local gem that saved us some lodging $$. It is not as bad as it looks from the outside because they are in an older building. But, they do only have 6 suite rooms that they rent out so they do not have a ton of availability. They also only have 1 suite that comes with a queen/king size bed and the rest are full size beds. My bf and I were still able to fit into 1 full size bed so it wasn't an issue for us that we stayed in a bedroom that had 2 full size beds. It was perfect. We stayed in Suite #4. My only tiny complaint was that I wish I stayed in a different suite room that was facing away from the street because I was hearing all the cars passing by and dogs parking nearby. You stop hearing noises after 7-8pm (and the whole town becomes a ghost town because everything closes early), but you hear all the noises again at 6am--just giving you a heads up! At the end of it all, I'm REALLY happy I came across this place. Plus, it's basically located almost at the dead center of the island so every place we wanted to drive to was convenient enough for us. You're really close to the OGG airport (15-20 mins) and you're not too far away from the Haleakala Volcano or Hana (about a 2 hr drive each way). And you're about 45 mins out from Lahaina.
