There's a lot of considerations when it comes to Maui! A majority of hotels are pricy, and I think for a "budget" hotel it gets the job done. Setting: Right on the beachside, it's a 12 minute walk from Foodland and a shopping mall. The pool was cold, but it was clean and there were other patrons utilizing it as well. Service: The ladies who checked us in and out were fast, kind, and efficient. We also rented a board game to play. Room: Our room itself was clean, properly stocked with towels and toiletries. The mini fridge and beds were all clean.

Such lovely staff. Great location that was walking distance to lots of attractions. Cool rooftop pool and gorgeous setting on the ocean with view of the outrigger rowers practicing. Renovations were underway so I'm looking forward to seeing the upgrades!

Nothing like the pictures!!!!!! This place is disgusting. We walked in the room and were ambushed by a urine smell. Proceeded to see stains all over the carpet, crumbs everywhere, and worst of all bugs! I only give it one star for Tiana at front desk for handling it so well and giving us a refund. Do. Not. Stay. Here. Pay the extra money to not risk bed bugs.

Decent enough. Just wanted a quick and easy spring break get away. Hawaii is a short enough flight from California. Maui is one of the islands I hadn't been to and wanted to check out. I always thought of it as the "expensive" island so never really considered it. After another vacation plan fell through I looked on a whim and was blown away at the affordable flights and accommodations. I originally looked at another property on the other side of the island but ultimately decided Maui Beach Hotel would be the best choice. Why? Let me tell you 1. "Free" airport shuttle (quoted bc there's a $20ish day resort fee) 2. Bar / restaurant onsite 3. Beach access 4. Walkability to shops and other dining 5. Car rental on property While all of this is true, plus they had board games, coin op laundry, fitness center (never saw but I believe it's there somewhere) lots of lounge around options, pool table, corn hole, bocce ball, and a water filler. And it indeed has beach access. Beach area is located in the harbor so our ocean view room gazed upon a dredge barge the whole time, saw a few cruise ships in and out. But the cove made the swimming or splashing feel a little safer. Had I known i would have booked a garden balcony instead of the ocean view room and gotten the same view WITH a balcony. But the ocean view was indeed that (see gecko photo with barge in background) Walkable was a huge plus. A small mall with a basic mall stores (Macy's as the anchor, Claires, famous footwear, etc) and foodland behind it on one side and a shopping center with a longs drug store and Whole Foods, etc on the other side. Every morning we walked the length of the beach to the road and grabbed coffee at a cute local spot (momona- totally recommend) and then spent most of the day lounging at the pool, beach, grass area or walking to and from various spots. Totally relaxing and I guess the whole point of an island vacation. I got a TON of steps in. (This part of the Island is apparently known to be VERRRRY WINDY. So I never got sweaty or overheated while walking) Another plus, hertz rental is also on site. I rented a car one day, prices were same as airport and we went out, saw what we wanted and then dropped it back off same day (they do charge for parking so one day was ideal) Cons: Restaurant had weird hours. My dream of sipping cocktails at the pool or gazing out in the ocean never came to be. I could have bought my own booze at any number of stores but that wasn't going to feel the same. We also made the mistake and paid the huge price tag for Easter brunch which was a sad selection of sad looking food. $60pp. I would have felt a lot better if they maybe only charged $35. But that was my fault, it wasn't like I prepaid and was held hostage. Pool: water was Freeezing. And since the wind kept it from ever feeling too hot outside, a cool dip was never appealing. Room: room was clean as it could be. Dated, but I absolutely expected it to be. I love vintage Hawaii. I'm not one for fancy resorts and can handle basic accommodations. It was all good until we started finding roaches. We only found a few in the bathroom but that was enough for us. We got roach spray at longs drugs and sprayed every inch if the room every day we were there. Not taking any changes I also rewashed all my clothes and left my luggage in the back yard for a day just to be sure. I know tropical places and islands have their share of pest issues so I try not to fault them for it, but id really rather not have seen them. Beach: already explained the harbor location which was find as it was like a little swim inlet. Sand and water what really else do you need? Only ding was the transient sitch. I know the hotel Cannot control who's on a public beach but it seemed to be a mini throughout-fair. Much farther down the shore is a public park and there was a lot of tents when we drove by so im sure that's home base. I stumbled apon two dudes smoking crack on the beach right by the hotel during one of My dusk time walks home from the store. After that I was a little more cautious on how far I let my almost teenage daughter wander around the grounds. I'd say all in all, you get what you pay for. But this property wasn't what I'd consider cheap. Maybe for this island. Would I stay here again? Highly doubtful. But, did it ruin my vacation. NOPE.

We came here on a whim because it was close to our car rental location. We paid over $200 for a one night stay with no ocean view. -pros: the location is a short walk to the beach. There are games outside such as cornhole. There are hammocks, gazebo and chairs to relax in. There is a cocktail lounge upstairs (however we were not told this we just happened to find it). There a pool inside to play and other chairs to hang out. They give you water bottles for water. -cons: the room wasn't the cleanest. It was extremely hot and we had to turn on the ac and leave the room for an hour until room cooled down so we could breathe. There was tons of trash on the beach. There was a homeless man half naked (bottoms). There's no breakfast. They charge is $10 for gas. Overall I do not feel like this place is worth the price.

Arrival & Check-In: Our flight landed late, and we didn't get to the hotel until around 10:30 PM. Despite the late hour, we were immediately greeted by an incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient front desk staff. They made the check-in process an absolute breeze and even provided us with complimentary water, which was a very thoughtful and much-appreciated touch after a long travel day. Room & Comfort: Once we got our keys, we were pleasantly surprised by the room. It was exceptionally clean, spacious, and well-equipped with great amenities, including a TV, a microwave, and a convenient pull-out desk. The beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring we all got a great night's sleep. As someone who is particular about hotel bathrooms, I was thrilled--it was the perfect size, and the water pressure in the shower (which is important to me!) was excellent. Location & Convenience: You really can't beat this location. It is literally minutes away from the airport and right next door to Costco, which is a huge plus for stocking up. Because we arrived so late and needed to grab dinner, we were relieved to find plenty of fast food options and food trucks right nearby. Overall Value: This hotel is absolutely perfect for families. It is reasonably priced, and the four of us fit comfortably without feeling cramped. If you need a clean, comfortable, and highly convenient place to stay near the Kahului airport, look no further. We will definitely be back!

Ok sidetrack a little back to the hotel do you know this courtyard by Marriott was build in 2012. That's how long I didn't come to Maui wow! Conveniently located right outside the airport ground w/free shuttle as well . Nice 4 story hotel with a pool , outdoor fire pit for relaxing also a fitness center . In the lobby they also have a nice bistro . Marriott courtyard brand is not a 5 star hotel it's one of Marriott medium brand mostly like a business hotel not for long stayers. Right across from the hotel is Costco and walking distance to Krispy Kreme. Also what i experienced the food truck lot right next door to the hotel . I'm giving this hotel a 5 Star because customer service is suburb along with its convenient location. I received customer service once I arrived normally most hotels check in at 3pm. I got to the courtyard Marriott around 1:30pm the front desk gave me my room already . On top of that my flight departed Maui at 2:45pm so I requested a later check out they honored that as well . Check out normally is at 11am. I checked out @ 1:00pm. Only downside is that this hotel charges parking $15 a day . It's ok although if you're staying awhile it could add up ?

MAUI Seaside Hotel - Five Stars for What It Is, Brada…read more Let me tell you straight if you wen' book MAUI Seaside Hotel, you already did your homework. You know this one stay budget-friendly, not fancy-schmancy resort kine. And that's why I start off strong: five stars for value, cuz you getting exactly what you paid for, maybe even one notch above. First off, the location? Cheehoo, unreal. Right off the airport blink twice, you there. Middle of everything, perfect for one quick in-and-out stay or when you running Maui on one budget. The open-air vibe, that lighted-up pool, the little fireplace area... Me and my wife call 'em Motel 7, cuz it's one step above Motel 6 but still Hawaiian-style cute. King bed, tables both sides, modern TV, lil' fridge, coffee pot, desk, AC blowing cold, plenty lights, and even those old-school pics of Hawaiian girls up in the mountains. From our window? We saw water, mountains, the whole scene. That alone made me go, "Shoots, five stars." Could I walk around and point out da cracks? Sure. Place get age, no lie. But my room? Clean, brada. Like no dust on top the pictures, no grime hiding on the desk, no weird smells. Clean sheets, clean bathroom, everything tight. And you know what? I never heard one peep all night. No drama, no yelling down the hall, no slamming doors. Just solid sleep as much as you can get after running around Maui all day getting sunburnt and grinding shave ice. Walking into the lobby, the set-up get charm. Cute, simple, island feel. And I've written my share of rough reviews, but I like be honest not everything in life is broken. Sometimes you gotta judge the thing for what it's meant to be. If you buy one used car with 100k miles and the price is right, and the tires good, and the engine runs that's still a good deal. This hotel? Same story. Good deal, good value, good stay. And hey the Aloha was real. Staff friendly, smiles all day, no attitude. Hit the pool twice; everybody chill, nobody acting wild, just laid-back island vibe all around. That's worth something too, yeah? All in all? Solid stay. Clean. Peaceful. Friendly. Good value. Five stars because they deliver exactly what they promise and a little more with the Aloha spirit.

A nice feature is the ability to walk through pool area onto the narrow beach. The hotel is near the harbor, so the quality of the water is uncertain. The primary reason for the three star rating is the poor maintenance of the annex building where our room was. The exterior of the annex clearly needs improvement. Our room had lots chipped paint and wood finishes. The bathroom door was missing some of its painted veneer. The bathroom had been repainted but there were paint splashes on the mirror wood trim. The bathroom ventilation did not work. The curved shower curtain rod over the tub was loose on the wall and bending slightly toward the floor, as if someone had tried to do chin ups on it. The end of the shower curtain kept sliding down the curved curtain rod and away from the wall, which made it impossible to not get water on the floor. The air conditioner cycled on and off in a very annoying fashion. The compressor came on and ramped up to speed and the fan would blow for 30 to 60 seconds and then it shut down only to repeat the process in another five minutes or so. We probably should have set the fan to a continuous setting, but it honestly didn't occur to us. There was no daily maid service during our 2-night stay unless we requested it. All in all, our stay was fine, but not great.

There's also a small room in the main building stocked with coffee and cream pods, ice, snacks, and even sunscreen, which was a thoughtful touch. We stayed in a ground floor room toward the back of the property, which felt very private and cozy. The room was lovely and included a Keurig with coffee pods, which I appreciated. The only minor downside was noise from upstairs, we could hear footsteps/furniture or suitcases being moved fairly clearly. The bedrooms were spacious, clean, and incredibly well stocked with everything guests could need. The robes and snacks in each room were so thoughtful. The grounds are just as special. The gardens are lush and peaceful, and the outdoor furniture is so stylish. One of our favorite touches was the "Aloha Room," which was so thoughtfully equipped with water, snacks, hot water, a microwave, and even sunscreen..details like this really set the inn apart. We were also fortunate to host a small dinner onsite, and the ambiance was truly stunning - intimate, elegant, and quintessentially Maui. Every single guest staying at the inn commented on how much they loved their room, which speaks volumes. Breakfast each morning was lovely, and Lupe, the housekeeper, was incredibly attentive and kind throughout our stay. What truly elevated the experience, however, was the level of service. Ramu went above and beyond in every way - accommodating our special requests, always being available, and communicating with us seamlessly throughout the entire process. The level of care and responsiveness was exceptional. Parking was easy and ample. This is truly a hidden gem on Maui. If you're looking for a place to gather with loved ones in a setting that is both beautiful and deeply welcoming, you simply cannot do better. 10/10, we would recommend it without hesitation.
