Cool condo and only a very short walk across the street to the beach, which was super awesome to be able to go there so quickly and easily after dinner or in the mornings every day. Our unit only had an AC in the living room and just fans for the bedroom and a couple small nightstand cooling fans. We opted to stay in the living room with the pullout bed, which was nice and Chris with the AC as the bedroom was a little bit too warm for our liking. Can't complain the day was awesome. We had designated parking and there was a designated pool that we could use if we wanted to and lots of space to walk around on the grass. Couldn't really ask for more and would probably stay here again. The next time we go to Maui. Our unit did have a messed up dryer so we couldn't dry our clothes using it and had to hang them all and also quite a bit of ants but nothing too concerning overall. read more

There was sand and hair in the shower, which was not wheelchair or walker accessible. After a 5.5 hr flight, we didn't want to be displaced due to a complaint so I cleaned to the best of my ability. There was no place to hang clothing. When we did notify Vacasa, they said they would give me back the $270 cleaning fee I paid. Vacasa misrepresents the properties, and in my opinion, this was a health risk and consumer fraud case. I will report and provide photos. I found this cute condo as a rental via vrbo.com. I've never been to Maui before and never had any business here. Every place I looked at was pricey, and I know it comes with the territory because it's "paradise," so I was lucky to find this place for a really good price for our 5 day/4 night stay. Each condo is individually owned and rented out to tourists. However, I do believe some people who own actually live here. The grounds are very well kept and it's a pretty secure area. They have a security guard who drives around in a golf cart, even during night hours. If you meet Kai, he's cool af! Super nice and chill, and even helped carry my stuff to the door when I arrived (cuz I always bring a lot of $hit...no matter how hard I try to NOT overpack, lol)!! The particular unit we stayed in was a 1 bedroom with a queen bed, and a pull out sofa bed. The owner sent me the code for the lock box on the front door to get in once I checked in online. It's located in building D, all the way in the back. It's good space for 2 to 3 people, maybe 5 max if someone doesn't mind sleeping on the floor using the couch cushions. The unit had everything you could want/need. The place was very nicely renovated and the kitchen was nice and roomy. We cooked a few times during our stay, as the kitchen was equipped with the basics: pots and pans, plates, bowls, utensils, cups/mugs and even a rice cooker and mini cooler! It had a gas stove and a regular size refrigerator, as well as a full size dishwasher and sink with garbage disposal. The stackable washer/dryer was easily accessible in the closet hallway. The bedroom had a good size mirrored door closet with hangers, and even a full size dresser with mirror and two night stands. Behind the door was a smaller closet that contained beach items. There were 2 boogie boards, 4 folding chairs, pool noodles, snorkeling gear, 2 beach umbrellas and even one of those toddler potties if you have a little one who's potty training. The balcony overlooked the pool and the lush landscaping which was nice. It had a 2 top counter height table and a drying rack for your clothes. The pool was nice. It was just a short walk from the unit and the key was left for us to come and go as we pleased. There are 2 gas grills in one corner of the pool and a separate men's and women's restrooms each with a shower stall. I was a bit bummed that there was no jacuzzi. Maybe the lower pool by the office had one but we never went to that one. Parking is assigned by unit and it'll have a number on it. You'll need to get a parking pass to hang on your rear view mirror for the duration of your stay. If you arrive at night like we did, you may find a letter on your car but just go to the office the following morning and let them know. Be sure to drive SLOWLY especially around corners because there are some foolios who don't look and one almost hit our beloved Tesla rental. Smh!! I would highly recommend this place if you can still find it on vrbo, but when I messaged the owners to thank them for their hospitality, he said they would be selling the condo. =( I'm glad we got in when we did. It's located on a busy street in Kihei and you can literally walk down the hill and straight to the beach (there are a few). That street is full of little shops and restaurants too. Sadly we didn't get to walk to anything as we drove to other areas on the island. It was still a great visit for our first time and when I go back, I'm gonna try to find a different unit here again! =) read more

C-603 was listed as "remodeled" but the unit is very outdated and cramped. The soft bed was too uncomfortable to really sleep in. The bathroom was really small, everything was really dimly lit. I booked a condo in Building D at Kihei Akahi through Airbnb for September 12-17, 2018. This review will not take into account any positive/negative interactions with the owner via Airbnb. Kihei Akahi has very well maintained grounds. Throughout our stay in the condominiums we saw groundskeepers taking care of planter boxes, lawn, pools, BBQ's, and numerous other features on the grounds. Each unit also has a dedicated parking spot, and there is some visitor parking available as well. The air conditioner in our particular unit wasn't great. The drainage bucket had to be emptied every few hours, and it never really cooled down the unit. It seemed as if other units had better A/C units, and others may not have had any A/C at all. The location of this property is really the best thing Kihei Akahi has going on! ideal for someone who wants to have easy access to the beach. The entrance to the property is directly on S. Kihei Road, and there is a crosswalk that will lead directly to Kamaole II (there are three Kamaole Beaches). The biggest issue with Kihei Akahi (and the reason for this being a 3-star review rather than a 4-star review) is the huge fumigation tent that was pitched over the entire Building A halfway through our stay. I never learned why the fumigation was happening, but I do know people were in that building when we checked in and people were going into the building again on our final day in Maui. Our building was far away from the one with the tent, but it still freaked me out a little bit. read more

Only unfortunate circumstance is that the bedroom windows face the elevators so you can clearly hear anyone making small talk on the way to the elevator. Easy walk to loads of restaurants and cafes. It's a Wrap has the best lattes, coconuts fish tacos are the real deal and if you like traditional sushi make reservations at 1054 Togoshi. Best eel and toro i've ever had! After reading all the good and bad reviews on Kihei Akahi on Yelp and TripAdvisor, I was unsure what to expect when I rented a condo unit during my recent trip to Maui a few months back. Sort of fearing the worst... I got myself mentally prepared for the a condo going that lacked air conditioning and internet that woild be dated, dirty, and musty. To my pleasant surprise, the condo unit that I stayed in was actually really nice and pretty amazing, and definitely exceeded my expectations! I had booked my 1 bed/1 bath condo unit through Orbitz, but was given a 2 bed/2bath upon check-in. Not sure why this was the case, but I wasn't complaining since I got a better deal at the end. I was assigned to Condo B206, which was well furnished, had AC, plenty of towels, beach activity gear (including beach chairs and umbrella), and had internet (spotty, but sometimes worked) -- so I was pretty set in terms of amenities. All the condos at Kihei Akahi come with parking, so it definitely beats having to pay for expensive parking at a hotel! Parking is assigned to the particular condo unit, so you'll need to go to the main management office to get an overnight parking hang tag for your car. Just to let you know, the check-in and check-out times are different among the condo units since they're usually managed by different companies who have varying policies. My particular unit had a check-in time at 3PM and check-out time at 11AM. I had wanted to check-in earlier (I had arrived around 12PM) but I was unable to since the maid service required all the time (up until 3PM) to clean the unit. So, when I had arrived there was still laundry whirling around in the dryer -- no biggie, since I knew that everything, including the towels, were clean. I think one of the best perks about Kihei Akahi is its location -- right on South Kihei road, with easy access to Piilani and Mokulele Highways, as well as plenty of dining options, and right next to a wonderful beach with great snorkeling (Kamaole III Beach). While condo experiences will vary from one guest to another, I definitely had a more positive experience as compared to some others. If you have the chance to stay in a 2 bed/2 bath unit, I would definitely recommend unit B206 since it provided everything I was looking for during my Maui vacation... Four stars! read more

We stayed here for 3 days in June/July and it was wonderful. We rented the unit through VRBO #652796, unit C511 and Gloria Roman. The unit is beautiful, recently updated and comes with all of the amenities you would ever need, making this truly feel like your "home away from home". Gloria goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and like "ohana", she even left a nice little gift basket with a fresh pineapple, coffee, cookies, an embroidered towel with our names on it and fresh banana bread! Talk about customer service!!!! There are beach chairs, ice chests, umbrellas and boogie boards for your use in the unit. It is in a great location right by shopping, excellent restaurants and literally right across the street from the beach. I go to Maui a couple of times a year, and I'm always interested in trying out different condos. This was the third I've stayed at in Kihei in as many years, and I liked it! However, I think it was mostly because I had the best unit in the place. I stayed in C-601 and found it on VRBO. It was quite the deal for Maui; summer off-season rate of $83 a night. The owners were great to work with, and the unit was all they advertised and more! It's on the top floor of the building, so no one above you. The view from the lanai was crazy awesome, and I took all meals there. The pools were clean, and the BBQ grills well-maintained. I liked the fact that they had a community refrigerator poolside to keep my adult bevs nice and cold. The location cannot be beat! I'll have to do this again. read more

Unit C-616 is NOT good. We have stayed in this complex now at least once or twice a year since 2013 (6 years). We've only had one (other) terrible experience which is why I am rating 4 instead of 5 stars. This trip we stayed in unit C-616. The good? The views are breathtaking (Haleakala to the left and ocean to the right). The property is well maintained and the unit was clean (the only other bad experience was with a filthy unit full of roaches in Building D). But now regrettably, the bad. This unit is terribly run down and dated. No A/C (2 broken fans in bedroom and 1 gigantic floor unit in middle of living area). We stayed during October with unusual heat but regardless, it was impossible to sleep in this unit unless we slept ON the pull out sofa next to the gigantic AC machine. The photos show the rest of this sloppy unit. It was indeed clean - but honestly, just a disaster inside. We won't stay in this unit again, but we will stay in Kihei Akahi. read more

I wish we would have gotten a nice condo from Kihei Akahi. The guy we rented from seemed really nice, but his studio is a dump. It was in unit C201. I would not rent from him again. His place (we are still here btw) is falling apart. we are here for 10 days and these were the ameneties in the unit: 2 rolls of toilet paper (HELLLLLO!) 1 roll paper towel (NO NAPKINS, NO TISSUE- husband came down with a cold on day one and had to use paper towels for a while) 2 SMALL, tiny soaps 2 trash liners There is a small kitchen but not really stocked. No spices for cooking. Salt and pepper only. No laundry detergent so we had to buy our own. We had to buy more toilet paper, paper towel and so on. Things falling apart: Towel bar in the shower almost off the wall. Sink in the bathroom leaks. Sink in the kitchen sprays you when pointing to the cold. Curtain rods falling off. Closet is full of stuff so no room for your cloths. Small dresser but bottom drawer is broken and wont open. Built in shelf next to the hid-a-bed is broken off the wall. NEED I GO ON? Not worth the $85 a night he charged us. I wish we would have paid more and stayed in a nicer place. YUK YUK YUK! And the place is just not that clean. The sheets all have some kind of bleach stain (I mean really). The ceiling is full of black scuff marks, ohhh and he says ocean view...don't fall off the railing looking for the ocean. We booked this condo through a vacation package with Apple vacations. I forgot our actual condo number, but it was very comfortable and decent. Our condo (all privately owned) was clean, well-equipped with every kind of household item, beach equipment and linens and towels. All we had to supply was our food. We had a lovely view and it was quiet, even though the place was booked. One problem was the construction noise from the site up the hill.....it didn't bother us since we were out of the condo everyday...but it may bother the later riser. My boyfriend and I stayed in Unit D206. Everything was beautifully decorated, fully equipped with the essentials and professionally cleaned. Each unit is privately owned and furnished by the owner. This is NOT solely a vacation property, there are residents that live on site so you do have to be courteous to the existing neighbors. However, it was extremely quite and there were no noise complaints that we know of. Brian and Marilyn rent out their condo to the public. I would highly suggest viewing this property on VRBO to reserve your stay. They are very punctual with responding and more than helpful when it comes to anything you might need. You have a washer/dryer in unit, as well as a full kitchen (fridge and cooking utensils), and a nice dining room with a pull out couch in the living room. We stayed in Kihei Akahi unit C504 in Sep 2019. The unit had been refreshed, was nicely furnished, and stayed fairly cool, though temps outside were 93 degrees. The room was oriented in such a way it never had direct sunlight and thus, not the heat other units had. There was only one a/c unit - in the living room. We were able to keep the bedroom cool enough to sleep comfortably at night under a top sheet. The downside to the room orientation was that it didn't have a full view of the ocean. Additionally, we had to continually empty the a/c drip pans so they didn't overflow onto the neighbors below us. If the two smaller drip pans had been replaced by a large one, the frequency of emptying the drip pans would have been reduced. All in all, we enjoyed the room and would stay there again when we go back to Maui. read more

We are giving Kihei Akahi 5 stars, not in the sense of "5 star (expensive!) hotel," but in the sense that it fits us perfectly when we visit Maui. As you can see from other reviews, these are privately owned condos listed with different rental agencies, so you have to do your homework if you are a first timer. For example, some renters may actually prefer an older lower priced unit with fewer amenities while others will not be happy without a newly remodeled unit with all the trimmings including the best view. So, what does "fits us perfectly mean?" First, the general location on Maui. Having explored Maui on many trips, Kihei's seemingly endless variety of walkable businesses means that we are always discovering new things. Unlike the resort towns that seem rather one-dimensional, it has a down home feel, with employees able to live there. It's reported that Kihei has much the same feel that it did in the 70s. The next closest "fit" for our desires is Lahina, about 45 minutes away. But we would rather visit Lahina than the other way around. There are a variety of high quality beaches and snorkeling areas nearby. Next, the specific location in Kihei. We like "quiet, but close to the action." If you stroll along the beach road, most rentals, especially on the beach side, give off a bustling vibe that lasts well into the evening. There seems to be a lot of group activities going on in pools and around flame-lit tables. That's nice, but not what we want to come "home" to. Kihei Akahi is just across the road from wonderful beaches and the bustle, yet when you go up the entrance road past the outdoor fresh water shower, the ambiance seems to instantly change to quite and even reflective. As we stroll through the beautiful sweet smelling grounds we hear birds and the wind in the palms. The clientele seem to respect this ambiance, speaking softly. There are nice swimming pools and communal bar-b-q areas, but we have never encountered boisterousness in our many stays there. We have been very happy staying in units C307 and C315, owned by the same family. These condos are attractively remodeled with queen bed and hide-a-bed sofa, washer/dryer/air conditioner/dishwasher, well stocked kitchens and beach gear in the closets. The lanai of these units overlook fragrant gardens with tall palm trees and views toward Haleakala and the sea. There are fine touches like paperback books that you are free to take if you don't finish them before your stay in paradise has to end. One possible negative is slow WiFi service to the buildings. It was usually okay for email, but if it is important that you be able to watch a video or stream a movie, be sure to check that the service has been upgraded. read more

Location is fantastic too---PLENTY OF BEACHES to walk or drive to, nearby. And other drives to Lahaina and Makawao never seemed very far. We were totally satisfied. It began to feel like our own small home--complete with kitchen, washer/dryer, & niknaks around the place. Nice looking pools and manicured gardens too. But we really didn't spend all that much time here--too busy doing many other things on the island. The only reason I'm not giving the place 5 stars is because it literally isn't a "5 star hotel"---but it's a great hotel/condo building nonetheless. read more

A/C, did not use, only fans. King sized bed was very nice and comfy. I came here to relax and enjoy Maui, I accomplished, just that. I overheard a couple complaining about having to recycle, while on vacation....stupid argument in my opinion, just do it. I will definitely return. read more

The Good: Kihei Akahi is located near a few good snorkelling beaches, and plenty of shops and restaurants. The grounds are well maintained, and the unit we stayed in was very comfortable. The pool areas were very clean and there are some very nice BBQ units available on the pool deck. The staff is friendly, and there's plenty of visitor parking. Affordable for Maui. The Bad: The only complaint we have is the noise. My wife and I are quiet people, yet the past two nights in a row we've received noise complaints. The first was in our unit (building C floor 4) and the second was in our father in laws unit (building B second floor). The first night I was doing the dishes and I took a shower before bed, around 11:00pm. Minimal noise was made in the process. The second night we were discussing the following days activities, quietly so considering our previous nights experience. I blame the construction of the building, not the residents; there's no reason to complain unless of course there's an issue. I believe that issue to be the papery thin walls and floors. It put a bit of a damper on our vacation; we were always walking on egg shells trying to avoid further disturbing the other guests. I think Akahi is deserving of a 1 star rating because this issue was enough to regret booking at this resort. I'd recommend staying elsewhere. read more

This review is for Unit C-101... I stayed in this condo in mid June 2012. I'll break down the condo in terms of the many issues I had while staying here: Bathroom: The walls were gross and yellow was all around the door in the room with shower and toilet. I felt dirty every time I took a shower Dishes: Wow, they were disgusting! We had planned to eat many meals in the condo but only ate one. The dishes (and pans) we used we had to wash before use. They were still dirty from a prior guest! Floor sticky: This was true throughout the entire condo! Ruined clothes: This condo's washer from the 1970's ruined three of our bathing suits. It yellowed the white parts on them, and even after we tried bleaching them they yellow still would not come out! The washer/dryer combo was old and outdated. Loud ac and washer dryer: As I mentioned, the washer and dryer is old and outdated. The unit is unbearably loud when in use, and it makes it unbearable to be in the unit when its on. This also goes for the A/C. It was very hard to sleep with this LOUD air conditioner in the unit. Shower: This is the worst feature in the condo. Tied for the washer and dryer. The shower goes from ice cold to scalding hot with no warning. The temperature changed constantly on us in each and every shower we took! I was truly embarrassed to have rented this unit, and did not know what to say to my girlfriend. It absolutely diminished our trip and we hated coming back to the condo every night. I would have rented another place had we not payed upfront. If this had been a hotel, I would have checked out after the first night. What makes it worse, is that when I contacted the owner to resolve the issues...I got a whole lot of nothing in return except for a bunch of excuses as to why she has no money to fix up the unit! And, she proceeded to blame me for wanting to use the A/C (she said its Hawaii and you should open the doors and use the winds...not the air conditioner), for ruining my own clothes (said it must have been from chlorine from the pool...but I didn't ever go to a pool) and said there is nothing she can do to fix the water issues in the shower since its a community water heater. And, to make it worse she scolded me for not cleaning the condo before I left! I'm on vacation, and am paying for someone to clean the condo....and I need to clean it before the cleaning crew comes? We have stayed in Kihei Akahi before and we loved it. Straight walk down to the beach, surrounded by fantastic restaurants, short drives to other area snorkeling/surfing beaches, clean grounds,2 pools, nice staff. We are currently in a studio that was previously reviewed here and she NAILED it. This room feels like a step BELOW Motel 6. Filthy. The washing machine ruined two of my shirts, all the dishes were filthy when we got here, the couch has mystery stains all over, the fire alarm and clocks we sitting on the table with no batteries...we just sit on the lanai at night so we can avoid looking inside. We've had geckos and various bugs all over our walls because the screens do not fit. This room is RARE for Akahi. End of story, renter beware and do your research. In just Googling the room number, I now see the various stories about the condition of our room, but 2 floors up my in-laws are in a GORGEOUS, remodeled room and they only paid 6.00 more per night than we did. Aim for building D (better views), avoid studios (they tend to be on the end and have no views) and just research. We WILL come to Akahi again, we will NOT stay in this unit. read more

We stayed in 315, building C. Nice, clean and everything - furniture, towels, silverware, bathroom, appliances - is in good condition. It's got a full kitchen. Excellent view of the beach from the lanai. Internet is free, but no WIFI, so bring yer ethernet cable :) The complex is within walking distances to stores and restaurants. It's across the street from a beautiful stretch of beach. It's got two new and smallish swimming pools. No room service or towel service. The grounds are well tended and parking is easy. oh.. the management office to register and get your door code is like a mile away, so please double check your itinerary for detailed instructions. Definitely consider staying here if you don't mind doing your own laundry. read more

(that is smaller than a queen bed) A shower with lukewarm water at best. The location is great. Plenty of food nearby. Nice weather. Good pools. The room itself is a disaster. All rooms are privately owned and rented by a broker. If anything is wrong you are told to contact the person who rented it to you. Do yourself a favor and camp somewhere else. Wow what a vacation we had here. I almost don't want to give out the condo number because of the gold mine I found. Hint C building lower level 100's. Beyond our expectations, fully loaded with condiments and spices, beach chairs, umbrellas, mountain bike, and so much more. It looked and felt like a home not a rented hotel room. we had friends and family next door at the Bayon and down the street at the Windom by Worldmark not impressed. Our condo was so much better and just that feel of home is what did it for me. The beach across the street was great and so were the shops and restaurants next to us. My unit was kinda out dated but clean. I was on top floor in back it was quieter. Dont stay next to elevator very noisy. Washer and dryer. Each unit is owned by different people so some are nicer than others. Great location and price. We had a partial ocean view. Get pictures of the unit u want b4 u pay. I read some reviews that said there unit was a dirty dump. read more

We stayed a week in Building D. Views and furnishings were fine to great but the management company did nothing about a neighbor that had their TV running all night (2, 3, 4 AM) even though we called them 3 times and went by the office twice. The posted quite times are from 10 PM to 8 AM. Same with smoking. Management does nothing to enforce no smoking in the building. If you want a restful place, go somewhere else. If you don't care about this you will enjoy. read more

This condo was nice overall and good value. Room was very well equipped with kitchen supplies, towels, washer and dryer with soap. Staff were very nice and welcoming, even let us use the pool for a day after we checked out. Room was medium clean, fold down bed wasn't the best. Saw 2 small roaches during the 1 week stay, but no big issues. For what we paid it suited us well, better than a hotel. read more

As a solo traveler I return to Maui again and again for sanctuary. D101 studio condo is just such a place. It is tucked into the most private part of the Kihei Akahi. Just a few short steps up from the D bldng parking area puts you on the "second" level of the condo complex...the lanai perches out back above the ground, caressed by tropical trees and vegetation...Unit below absorbs the minimal foot traffic on this private side of the complex. I used that path time and again to trot out to the pool and superb bar-b-que facilities and to trek the short distance to the finest beach, imho, on Maui...Kam II (flanked by Kam I and III)! The bed is a permanently down murphy bed with a VERY comfy queen mattress set on it, I slept soundly. The couch and tv were fine. Unit's wifi worked well once I found out the unit's phone # is the password for IPAD users, this was MISSING on wifi instructions. The kitchen is well appointed...GREAT toaster. Gas range & microwave above it were clean. Pots and pans were adequate (I dislike no-stick (worry about health consequences) so I purchased a small skillet while I was there). Pick up some fine fish and steaks to avail yourself of the excellent gas bar-b-ques at the pool area. The high pub table and chairs on the condo's lanai are the perfect private perch for these home made dinners...if the wind is a bit much that day the pub table and chairs provided inside the condo provide a nice spot, too. The refrigerator is quiet running one...very important in a studio! The bathroom could use an updating...the sink counter is worn and the shower head a bit fatigued but this is a VERY popular and heavily used studio condo. The windows offer spectacular ventilation and this is essential since there is NO air conditioning...the northern exposure keeps the unit cool most of the time. The ceiling fan is too noisy to run on any speed but the lowest when sleeping, it is way out of balance. The front load washer is so nice to have in the unit...saves on Maui's precious water and treats clothes like they are on vacation, too (very noisy...think of neighbors when you choosing hour to run it). You will love the tile floors throughout the studio, no worries about gross carpets in the tropics! We will not come back. We stayed in D401 a Studio unit for 12 days. The on-line pictures for studios are deceieving. Lsrge tile floors with cracks, divots, chips and sandy. A old well used sofa, uncomfortable. TV with 5 channels which made for those pouring rainy days to be blah. Then on our 2nd day the hot water went out. We were told we would not have it back on for 2 more days...NOT HAPPY. No coupon for a free dinner, no partial refund just a cold shower. The only two things that were good; comfortable bed and a good view. read more

Literally a Dangerous place - Negligent Upkeep - Uncaring Managers!! A 40 foot tall palm tree dropped a frond and shattered my windshield on July 1st. I live in the tropics and these things don't drop on their own - it takes a good 5-10 strikes with a sharp machete to bring them down. These trees are right next to the pool and if your kids get hit they're looking at a concussion at best or a broken neck at worst. Managements response was it's an act of god - but god didn't make them not pay to have their trees serviced and god didn't make them not call back with a resolution for two weeks and counting. Sure it's a more affordable place to stay but when people can't even offer condolences when their negligence helps ruin your trip and have the audacity to blame god, and the lack of caring to ever follow through - do yourself a favor GO ELSEWHERE . I'd suggest that the $600 it takes to fix your vehicle be spent on a place that does basic maintenance. Otherwise it could be your loved one or child bleeding out on the ground from another "act of god." There's a different condo every 50 feet in this part of town - do yourself a favor and walk the extra 50 feet. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed in C208 for 6 days. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about our stay. The one bedroom 2nd floor condo was fully stocked with dishes, glassware, cleaning products, trash bags, washer/dryer, laundry soap, clean towels, beach supplies, dishwasher with dish soap, sponges, etc. It was very clean and well kept. Location was convenient to beach, stores and food. There is no AC, but plenty of fans. Hawaii does get humid so the bedroom was a bit stuffy, but nothing to really complain about. Convenient parking with visitor parking spaces provided. Only issue was there was a water alarm installed underneath the bathroom sink to detect any leaks. It went off and was pretty loud. It took us a few minutes to figure out where it was coming from but once we figured it out, we called the owner. Austin (who I believe is the handy guy for this unit) came within a couple of hours (Hawaii time) and assessed the issue. Building C was quiet surrounded by lush trees and flowers. Close to the street so very easy access to walk to the beach. We plan on returning and hopefully can get this same unit. I'm reading other reviews and realize when you book here it's a crap shoot. You either get a great place with a great owner. Or you get a lousy place with a lousy owner. When we first arrived we walked into the middle of an owner yelling at the front desk staff for possibly making a mistake on dates for his guest. I don't know exactly what the situation was but the owner was completely enraged and teetering on psycho. The staff took his rage in stride and we waited for the psycho to finish his rant so we can check in. I'm sure mistakes can be made and owners can be lousy, so if you're going to book a condo at this place, just be aware that not every condo is the same and not every experience will be the same. read more
