Loved my experience here this past week. Staff: Interacted with multiple front desk employees in person and via chat. Everyone was prompt and helpful in their responses. I checked in via the Hilton app but had to drop bags to hold. My room was ready on time and being a Diamond member I was upgraded from the room I originally selected which was a nice surprise. Location: Perfect for hitting the usual tourist sites. Pike Place is an easy 5 minute walk along with the metro and monorail access. Surrounding food options are okay but alot of options are in hotel/corporate buildings and come with the related price tag. Room: Originally booked a standard Queen but was upgraded to a sixth floor corner King Superior room. The room itself was very clean, spacious, and unlike some other similar hotels had decent lighting setup. Bathroom was tiny and could use a better solution for counter/towel space but this was no surprise reading the previous reviews. Overall would definitely recommend and stay here again. read more

I stayed at hotel Theodore for three days and two nights and it didn't live up to my expectations as a four star hotel. The biggest issue was the room size. With two people, it felt cramped. It didn't leave much space to move around comfortably. The room would be better for a solo traveler. The bathroom was also tiny adding to the fact that the room was small. What made the experience more disappointing was that a three star hotel I stayrd in afterwards, was nicer and roomier. It was cheaper too. One of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. Calling this a 4-star hotel is incredibly misleading--it felt more like a run-down motel. The room was tiny, outdated, and had a terrible smell the moment we walked in. It honestly smelled like someone had been smoking in the room, and instead of properly addressing it, they tried to cover it up with another scent. The combination was unbearable. I couldn't sleep all night because of the odor. For nearly $300 per night, I expected a clean, comfortable, and well-maintained room--not one that made me dread being inside it. To make matters worse, our "view" was literally a wall. There was nothing premium or boutique about this experience. Seattle has so many great hotels, and unfortunately this isn't one of them. I wouldn't stay here again, and I wouldn't even want to walk past this hotel in the future after this experience. Save your money--and your mental and physical well-being--and book somewhere else. read more

Stayed at Hotel Theodore during my Seattle trip and couldn't have picked a better hotel! The check-in process was seamless, and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. The hotel has that perfect boutique-meets-historic charm, modern, stylish, and cozy all at once. The location is unbeatable, centrally located downtown, just a short 10-minute walk from Pike Place Market, surrounded by great coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping. It's the perfect home base for exploring the city. And if you ever don't feel like going anywhere, Rider Restaurant is conveniently located downstairs a perfect place for a quick bite, a drink, or happy hour without leaving the hotel. Overall, Hotel Theodore made my Seattle stay super comfortable and stress-free. Would definitely stay here again next time! read more

Would I stay here again? Unlikely. The hotel is beautiful. They did a nice job, renovating it and sticking with the theme. The lobby is picturesque. Service good. The amenities are OK. There is no pool or spa and the gym is the bare minimum similar to a budget hotel. There is a resort / hotel fee of $32 every night which you're wondering what does that go to? Perhaps it's the wine hour that they offer sometimes between 5-6. It certainly doesn't offer any parking which is common in Seattle valet. I have no idea, but I believe it was expensive. As for the room, yes it was nice looking however it was bizarre to us that the bathroom had the shower separated from the washroom . In addition, the door to the shower bathroom is glass. None of this was clearly stated or visible in the photos when booking so anyone reading this, keep that in mind. It would've been great if it was combined and over had a opaque door. Anyway, the bed is comfortable. The room was comfortable. We were on the 12th floor and yes, it is loud at night, but eventually the city of Seattle decided to quiet down. Whoever they had working the phones today at 11:15am at the front desk should be fired or retrained immediately. I just called to inquire about a charge I got after staying there that they are calling a destination charge (I paid upfront through Expedia but they say this is a charge that is common but not charged by third parties. That's annoying but beside the point really. It's the rudeness, condescending tone and lack of sense the front desk employee exhibited when I was asking about this that was insane to me. After she kept trying to pass the buck and get me to talk to Expedia about this charge the hotel put in my card I asked what they had my costs at for everything but the silly destination fee so I could try to cross reference what I saw in Expedia. She told me a number and I asked her to repeat and she told me it disappeared and she can't get it again cause they don't show them (but yet only show them once somehow). Throughout the call she cut me off, made rude comments and generally just seemed to have 0 interest in helping me and apparently wanted to get off the phone after 10 seconds into the call. My experience prior to this with my stay at the hotel was worthy of about 2-2.5 stars but this brings it easily down to 1 star. If you want uncomfortably small rooms , bathrooms the feel like you're using a Fischer price kids play set, overpriced everything, paintings that somehow make annoying/sleep interfering noise throughout the day/night, paper thin walls that let you hear everything your neighbors are doing and horrible customer service that's not just ineffective but rude and condescending at the same time then this is the place for you. read more

I booked this experience from a FB ad on my timeline to celebrate NYE. We were able to get a standard king room, valeted the car & get ready. A few things when we pulled up valet was nowhere in sight, so we went in and the staff was holding a conversation between themselves about some guest drama with them having more than one occupant. So we politely waited for them to acknowledge us and after a minute or so we were checked in. We needed a cart and the staff was able to find us one and then took care of the valet for us. We stayed on the 11th floor and it was very quiet. The room was super cramped and not ideal if you're a girly girl who needs space to get ready. There's no sitting area, plug in front of the mirror on the wall and it's super dark. The king bed swallows up the room. I was able to make due in the restroom but wasn't able to sit and prep. But, the ambiance of the room was great, the bed was soft and I slept like a Champ. There's no view to look at and you'll have a view into the rooms of the opposite hotel, so keep those curtains drawn. We were given a bottle of Champs for the NYE package after 8p we were granted access to the penthouse. We showed up around 11p and there were a handful of other guests. There was a pseudo bartender that was friendly and a dj with an attitude that did not hype the night up. He just stood there like I'm here until midnight. We were supposed to have pano views of the city and a clear view of the fireworks but it was like wait what direction are we supposed to look into because um the views are obstructed by buildings. Now, the space was inviting and I'd definitely recommend it if you have a group of folks you want to entertain for sure. There was a hot tub in there. We asked the dj about interacting more and he was a trip. Like met everyone with an attitude the whole night. I'm sure you had the option to work or not tonight bro. There was an open bar and there were finger foods like a low barrier charcuterie setup but the cheese was sweating so i passed on that. We toasted at midnight, danced and enjoyed ourselves bc we were the vibe - but, definitely not worth the price point. I reached out to the hotel and shared my feedback in hopes that this experience can be elevated in a better way if they continue to provide events. Best night sleep of my life. Theodore has an incredible hospitality team. Kind, mindful, and extremely welcoming. Highly recommended the hotel - especially for easy access to downtown gatherings, restaurants -- although their restaurant, Rider, is amazing. You can catch local shows, conventions, or sports minutes away. I hop on the monorail (two blocks away) and get to Climate Pledge Arena and the space needle in 5 minutes. Perfect for concerts or Kraken games. I love it here and would move in if they allowed it. Truly an incredible stay, team and experience every time. Best in Seattle! read more

I cannot begin to describe the level of inhospitality this hotel has provided us. We are currently here for PAX West. We booked a King room for 2 adults through the hotel block. Normally we stay at the Grand Hyatt, a hotel that has timelessly gone above and beyond to accommodate us, but unfortunately it was sold out, and we decided on this nightmare of a hotel instead due to the proximity. The room we were given is TINY, despite being a King room. There is barely any room for me and my partner to fit our luggage. There isn't even a desk or table or any sort. You'd think you were staying in Tokyo and not Downtown Seattle. The bathroom is equally tiny, and the light switch is outside the bathroom for some reason?? By the way, there was a used champagne glass that was just outside our room for hours after we had checked in. I wouldn't be surprised if it stays there for the rest of our 4-night stay. You do not get complimentary waters in your room, but you can pay $7+tax for one! Meanwhile, our single friend, who also booked a King room at the same rate, was given a larger King room with a small couch area. When he told the front desk he wouldn't need it, they upgraded him to a massive suite. We asked about being switched to a comparable room (at least the one with the couch) since we had booked the same rate, but were told that because we booked with the PAX block, we're just given what we're given, the whole process is automated, Hotel Theodore has no people on staff with actual brains to fit guests with larger parties into the larger rooms. They randomize the entire process, good luck everybody! Btw, the compromise they gave us for the trouble. Taking off two day's worth of "resort fees"! Y'know, the absolute junk fees that offer absolutely no value to your stay! This hotel is MORE expensive than the Grand Hyatt, and they do not provide even 1/10 of the service the Hyatt does. If I could give this hotel negative 4 stars, I would. Do not waste your time with this hotel. DO NOT. read more

Absolutely LOVE this hotel! I've been on an almost 2 week work trip, with only 2 nights in the middle not staying at the Theodore; I travel weekly for work, typically the majority of the week in various states/cities- this is by far one of my favorite hotels ever. The greats: The 2 ladies at the front desk rotating everyday- very kind, very helpful without being pushy or irritating- one even helped me via phone handle a funny situation we laughed about when I returned that evening. They're awesome! The bed-I've never been so comfortable in my life. The pillows, blanket situation, mattress- all the things-outstanding! I crave bed despite being a night owl. The location- easy way to offices, take 1 left on the corner and you walk straight to Pikes Place Mkt, Starbucks and small store across the street. The lobby and decor- so very cool. The lobby is mesmerizing, I loved just walking all over it. Decor scattered throughout includes artifacts and pics of Seattle history- love these details. The oks: Rider restaurant bar- very cool vibe, loved everyone working there but it's pricey! My moctails were $23! Ate there once- it was just ok. All of Seattle is expensive so not a big knock. Coffee shop folks also great but coffee wasn't anything to write home about (but I didn't find that anywhere) The not greats: The bathrooms are small- shower is standard size but bathroom is small small. There is no laundry service offerings what so ever. I looked forward to going to bed every night, and just felt happiness staying here so long. Hubby and I stayed at Hotel Theodore for a couple nights before we left on our Alaskan cruise. Check-in was easy and quick. The girl who checked us in was extremely friendly and gave us a bunch of useful information. We loved the location! Pike Place Market was only a 10 minute walk. The monorail and 2 pharmacies were within a 5 minute walk. There were lots of bars and restaurants within a short distance as well. Our room was a good size, the king bed and pillows were all very comfortable. The bathroom was definitely small but still very functional. The hotel opened in 1930 which explained the smaller size. They didn't require anything special to check-out so we just returned the room key in a drop box at the front desk and we were on our way. I would definitely stay here again in the future. read more

We booked Hotel Theodore last minute after a very stressful day, and the staff completely turned the experience around. Kristy at the front desk was kind, welcoming, and set the tone right away, which we really appreciated after everything we had been through. We shared our situation with her and David, who was visiting from corporate. Our drive to Leavenworth turned into a five-hour ordeal before we had to turn back due to a power outage and bad weather, which led to our reservations being canceled and left us without a place to stay. David went above and beyond from that point on. He offered us two complimentary glasses of wine to help calm our nerves and assured us they would take care of us. David personally walked us to our room, carried our luggage, and then realized the room was too small for our family of three. Without hesitation, he upgraded us to a larger room at no charge and walked us over himself. Later, when I asked about a microwave to warm our baby's food, he arranged to have one brought directly to our room. Between Kristy's kindness and David's exceptional hospitality, we felt genuinely cared for during a stressful situation. Highly recommend Hotel Theodore and their amazing front desk team. read more

If your looking for a great place to stay in downtown Seattle, then Hotel Theodore is for you. The hotel is about a 7 minute walk from Pikes Place where you can find many delicious restaurants. Upon checking in the staff was very helpful and answered all question we had about downtown and what to do. They gave us ideas on what restaurants, bars and places we must try and see. I was very surprised on how nice the rooms were. Don't get me wrong it could have been a bit bigger but we were barely in the room so it all worked out. The room was clean and the beds were comfy. Really nice boutique property right in the center of town. Pros: Easy walk to Pike Place and other attractions, and a great bar and restaurant attached. Rooms are clean and quiet, and the elevator is super quick, and no walk to your room, like larger places. Really friendly staff and in-room service is lighting fast. Like asked for some ice and it came less than 10 min later. Prices are good and would totally stay again. In-room fridge actually keeps things cold and is big, like can fit small groceries. Wow! Cons: coffee maker didn't work, which I feel is totally typical in hotels, so not a big deal. Valet parking, while really friendly and fast, is difficult as well as unload and such as they don't have a turnaround or place to pull over and the lot they use is a one way that they've had to use as a two way, so that's a little hard, but not their fault. I'm sure that's a city thing. Lobby cafe was challenging, as one morning they didn't have regular coffee--like eh? But what they do have is good, but seemed always out of something or when asked about green tea, they said yes, and then offered jasmine? Sounds really petty, I know, but for a nice joint like this, like what are y'all doing? Also, the complimentary drink they offer with the resort fee, never saw a whiff of that. :( All in all, more pros than cons and cons are just personal stuff, so I say give this place a try when visiting, I will be back, for sure. read more

so we stayed here a few months ago and yet again yelp's 3.4 (dec2024) is honestly just about right. 4 because in some ways the location is great but 3 because in other ways it's quite jarring it's in the heart of downtown -- right across from pacific place -- which contains a hard to eat at restaurants or two, and that makes it very convenient. it's also right by westlake center, which has a monorail that drops you right by the space needle, if visiting that area is on your itinerary at all however since the last time we were here some 10 years ago, the entire seattle downtown area seems to have really taken a downturn/post-pandemic and in order to get to pike place, you have to walk past what i think would be fair to call an open air drug market on 3rd and pike i wouldn't say we ever felt uncomfortable or unsafe, but we're also no stranger to individuals that are unhoused or experiencing homelessness. take all that to mean what you will because we otherwise felt the location was great to be able to walk anywhere we wanted + try out a good dozen or so coffee shops very close by otherwise, we didn't walk all the way down to pioneer square this time but the area between it and pike place seemed to be slightly better maintained. i know a lot of what i'm sharing is a bit outside of this hotel's direct control; it just kind of is what it is and i'm hoping for the best for this once gorgeous and dare i say romantic downtown we fell in love with so many years ago read more

This hotel is located in the heart of Seattle. Walking distance to all the popular attractions and restaurants. The Theadore is a very nice place to stay. The room was clean and updated . Bright and cheerful. Front desk staff very helpful and friendly. The hotel has a nice bar and fabulous restaurant attached to it. beautiful boutique hotel. after all my research of what to do, what to see and where to stay in seattle i chose this hotel since my grandpas name was theodoro, i took it as a sign. it's not necessarily a very big hotel. one of the first things i noticed was how tiny the elevator was! it really took my by surprise and i said out loud 'oh! tiny!' and a girl also waiting for the elevator said 'wait till you see the rooms. they're even smaller' which scared me, but for one person it was the perfect size. i would definitely say this is either a couples or single person hotel. the restroom, at first felt suffocatingly small but by my second night i had adjusted to the size and by the end of my trip, i was sad to leave. Juan at the front desk checked me in and was so helpful and polite. they have a complementary wine hour from 5 to 6 and the wines are local wines if i remember correctly. i rate it 4 stars simply for how small everything was, although i understand its a historic hotel. you also have to request a room clean 24 hours in advance which felt inconvenient even though i didn't need it. taking the location, hospitality and price point into consideration, this is probably a 4.3 and the only thing holding it back from a 5 star rating is just how tiny the rooms were. read more

8/14/21 Luxury Hotel for sure! So this place was awesome from the decor to the staff to the awesome fun facts and pictures throughout the hotel! Just wanted to Explore! What a great location. I mean so many shops and places to eat, drink, shop. Coffee or anything else you can think of! The Room was fabulous! Plenty of space and some. So the one thing that excites me the most was the Shower Room! Yeah I know maybe it was called something else but it literally is a whole room tiled devoted to the shower and Tub! So that means the whole room was a shower with a Tub in it! So cool never seen anything like this before. It gave me ideas for my future house! Next super cool Facts all over the room with pictures about Seattle and things that were made here! I loved all the amenities as well. Their are bikes you can use and ride around. Also complimentary cocktails for happy hour in the lobby area! Score. I shall return sooner than later!!!!! Keep up the great work Theodore!!!! read more

Great location. Walk distance to a lot of sights. It was clean, classy, and comfortable. Rooms are small, but you're in the city it's to be expected. The building was tastefully renovated. They have a self parking garage RIGHT next door if valet is not your style. They have a yummy coffee/breakfast place and nightly wine 6-7. The employees were so kind and helpful. I stayed here two separate times this past week. The good: Location was great. Very walkable to many incredible restaurants and areas to shop including Pike Place. Checkin was easy and the rooms were very clean. Staff was friendly. The "welcome drink" that's listed on the website is only from 6-7 and is a choice of Cabernet or Chardonnay but you can't drink it at the bar of the restaurant that is attached. The bad & the ugly: I was only offered the welcome drink upon the second checkin. They do not have any smart TVs or anything to watch while you are relaxing really. The WiFi is public and it is terrible so couldn't even watch anything on our phones! They did not clean our rooms while we were gone either. There is no microwave and while there is a coffee machine, none of the pods are labeled so we assumed they were all caffeinated. All of the showers are situated so that you literally CANNOT turn them on without spraying yourself! Overall not worth it for the price and amenities provided but it was decent. read more

Just to say that this is the first time I've stayed at a hotel in downtown Seattle so I don't know if Hotel Theodore is typical of that experience. I think the location is very good - a block from the convention center and about seven blocks from Pike's place market. It was easy to get to other things as well via walking or rideshare. But this room was super tiny - I had a standard queen room and it was really only large enough for one person. The room was smaller than a hotel room I had in NYC. I did feel like everything was very clean and nicely decorated. Bed was comfortable. The lobby area was nice. They said they do a wine happy hour at six pm but I missed it both nights I was there. Room was definitely on the expensive side - about $250/night. read more

We were able to book a room here over the summer for $99 a night, so I can't have too many complaints, but overall, it was a solid stay. Pros: -Convenient downtown location: we took the rail in from the airport and we were able to walk the 1.5 blocks from the stop to the hotel with our luggage easily. Also a really quick walk to Pike's Place and to the quick metro that takes you to the space needle and Chihuly garden. -Daily happy hour in the lobby means they provide you a free glass of wine each night. -Rooms were really spacious. We had a large seating area and waiting area in front of the bed. -The room also came with a food and beverage credit so we were able to buy things like coffee and bottled water. -Super friendly staff. They were all really nice. -They had bikes that you could borrow. Cons: -Although the location was convenient to get around, as we went outside, we saw a lot of drug use happening around us on the streets and many unsanitary conditions on the streets around us. You will want to be cautious walking around particularly at night. -They didn't have full cleaning service daily so if this is important to you, you should book elsewhere. Overall, a solid stay. I don't think we'd want to stay in this area of Seattle again, but the hotel itself was nice and we had a good stay. read more

I loved this hotel! It is in a great location--just a few blocks from the market. There were at least six different lamps in our room and the checked tiles in the bathroom are so fun; I love this hotel's style. We were lucky and stayed in a corner room with great cityscape views. The hotel staff were attentive and kind. They are taking appropriate COVID cautions (tv remote in a bag, one party elevator, social distancing, masks, etc). I would happily stay here again when visiting Seattle. The only things preventing this cute hotel from being five stars for me is that the bathroom is pretty small, and that I could hear other guests through the bathroom vent when I was in there. read more

BEWARE ~ If you are a traveling professional, I would avoid this hotel at all costs. Our team of about 7 stayed here while attending a trade show at a nearby hotel, hoping to escape the hustle and bustle. However, all of our items were stolen while in valet. The trade show was over a month ago, and we have since been ghosted by the hotel staff. Caleigh at the front desk has been no help, only giving my assistant the runaround. Juan, who is supposed to be looking into this and providing insurance details, is nowhere to be found, and the General Manager, who I spoke with over a week ago and promised to call back the same day, has yet to follow up. If you want your belongings stolen--including several iPads, MacBooks, and more--this is the place to stay. Otherwise, I'd recommend trying any other hotel in the area before booking here again. read more

We were very pleased with our Hotel Theodore experience, but not moved or overwhelmed. The location is central, and within walking distance of most areas you'll want to visit. The staff was also very kind and accommodating. Here's a few caveats that I believe the hotel could rectify. 1) The hotel restaurant, which looked very inviting, was indefinitely closed. Having a restaurant to get a meal or to grab a drink after a day of sightseeing would have been great considering everything in the area closes around 6:00 pm. 2) One of the double beds in our room had a large indent in the mattress. It was like sleeping in a hole every night. 3) My family and I were there for a week, and our room only had a large wardrobe to hold all of our clothing. Additional furniture would have been appreciated. 4) The bathroom was quite small for three people. Only one person could reasonably fit in it at a time. Other than this, the Hotel Theodore provided a central place for us to unwind after a day of exploring the Emerald City. read more

Front desk customer service is terrible. Hardly acknowledged upon arrival. No mention of complimentary drink at check in. No water at check out. It took an hour to get more linens for the couch bed. Had to call twice. 1st king bed suite was small. Second room we had for our last night was nice. Tried to get a later check out. Man at the front desk was smug and just said no even after the night attendant said it shouldn't be a problem. Now just sitting here in lobby with exhausted family, after a week of travel, waiting for the time to pass. Will nerve return, recommend to a friend or visit another sister property. What a nice hotel in a great location. Gladys was really wonderful at the front desk and made us feel welcomed as valued guests. Bed was super comfortable and the room was quiet and clean. Our room 1601 was near the elevator but there was no noise. I like the card key requirement for outside and elevator. The coffee bar is excellent but has limited hours and has few food items . The bathroom is small but typical for large city hotels. There's a refrigerator in the room. I think there is a Nespresso machine with tiny 1" pods in the room which we did not use. It's walking distance to the market and monorail. They had umbrellas you can borrow There was a bicycle but I'm not sure if you can borrow it. Happy hour is good for drinks but the food items are disappointing. I would stay there again. Booked at travelocity and was at about the same rate as what I heard other guests paid but you know you'll have the reservation. View was nice too read more

Let me start off by saying that I have stayed in many 4 and 5 star hotels... this no higher than a 3 star. The hotel and room is indeed well decorated but the space is absolutely TINY. I cannot stress this enough. The complaints about the size of the rooms are warranted. As for hotel experience, I would say the rating would be 2/3rds about the room/bathroom and the remainder 1/3rd on the hotel service. We understand that 2/3rds is beyond management control but 1/3rd is unacceptable. Let's discuss the service: 1.Front desk is unfamiliar of the Peloton services the website claims. Overheard a couple ask how to use the Peloton bike and no one at the front desk knew the answer to this 2.Bike rentals: this seems slightly exaggerated and close to false advertisement. The truth is that the hotel only has 2 bikes. If anyone takes out those 2 bikes, there is none to use. I tried to check out the bikes, expecting free service and they were checked out all day. Why not accurately state in your website you only have 2 bikes for the entire hotel and it's first come first serve? 3. Hairdryer. The hair dryer in my room wasn't even functional. Only released cool air. No hot air 4. Bathroom storage: where are people supposed to place their toiletries/toothbrushes. Please add additional storage space These things are within your control and they are part of the experience Now let's talk about the rooms which are not so much in your control: -bathroom is so tiny the water from the sink would splash on my clothes. -room is so tiny I hit my ankle on the bed while on the way to the bathroom at midnight Overall my experience was very unpleasant. We spent 2 nights here and it was a very nice quaint hotel in Downtown Seattle. Great location, right next to the convention center and about a 10 minute walk to Pike Place. There was a little mix up when we checked in, which was that we initially booked a room with 1 bed but then wanted to change it to 2 beds. They were unable to change the room before we checked in but we were told and reassured that they would be able to bring in a rollaway upon check in. Well that was not the case. We were told that the standard room was too small for a rollaway. They said that they could switch our room for a larger one but there would be an additional charge. Then they said that they had a handicap room that could accommodate a cot so we took that room. After going up to our room and unpacking, we receive a call that that a cot would NOT fit in our room. But they were nice enough to move us to a room with 2 beds for no additional charge. The standard rooms are very small but the room with 2 beds were huge. The bathrooms are small though. Overall, I would stay here again but a big part has to do with their location. read more

Found this hotel as part of the JetBlue package I booked for Seattle. It is super cute! Turns out my friends husband's job puts him up here when he travels for work. I feel like that's a good sign. There's a restaurant, Rider, in the hotel, as well as MADE coffee. My room was ready when i checked in and I was upgraded to a king studio. The room itself is small - when you walk in bathroom on the right (cozy but love the decor), bar on the left. There's a armoire w/ a safe, king bed, 2 side tables, TV on the wall and a chair and table to the side. It was honestly perfect for me. Everything was clean, bed was comfy. And you get $5 credit every day you choose not to have your room done, it's eco-friendly! They do charge a daily resort fee. I made sure to use the gym once (2 treadmills - Peloton I think, 2 bikes - also at least 1 is Peloton, an elliptical, weights and room for stretching. They also offer complimentary cocktails from 5:30-6:30 daily in the lobby. The bartender has a daily drink, it was their take on a gin + cranberry the day I went. Make sure to tip since the drinks are free. I was also doing the yoga class at Chihuly and needed a yoga mat. I told the front desk and they sent up the Well + Fit package - containing an iPad, light weights, resistance band, barre ball, yoga mat + cleaner! So clutch. The front desk was also great, really friendly. Location is also central for walking to Pike Place Market, the waterfront, and Space Needle. And there are food options close to the hotel. I would recommend and would stay here again! read more

Hotel Theodore has an awesome downtown location within a ten to fifteen minute walk to the Pike Place Market sign. The location gets five stars. We stayed three nights at the historic luxury hotel. The first night we were cramped in their deluxe room with a queen bed on the 17th floor. If there's two of you, it's going to be real tight. There's a bed, small nightstand, a club chair, very small table that looks like a marble stool, big screen flat tv screen on the wall, a bathroom the size of a bathroom in a regular cruise ship cabin, and a tiny closet. The space is clean and lux, but it's tiny (approx. 200-250 sq. ft.). We upgraded for the second and third night to a superior king corner room on the 11th floor. This time our room was approx. 400 sq. ft. Real nice.. a whole different experience. The corner room had a sitting room with large circular dining table and long sofa. The bathroom had a little more grazing space. Pros: Comfy bed; tasteful modern & subtle décor; clean room & public spaces; the complimentary happy hour ( a cocktail is showcased each evening) in their back sitting space; convenient Made Coffee & Rider Restaurant on the main floor; in-room coffee, reasonably priced snack & drink items in room mini-bar; and friendly staff. Cons: In older historic buildings like HT, the elevators are slow; and the rooms are bit tight in space; There are no ice machines on the floors; During peak check in and check out hours, request for ice or other incidentals, the service is extremely slow. Overall though, we would return to HT whenever in Seattle again. Awesome location!! read more

Great location but worst nights sleep I've had in a long time. The heater was so loud and constant, forget sleeping through that! The bed and sheets were very uncomfortable. The reviews I've read saying that it was the best nights sleep they've had lead me to believe they were posted by influencers. The restaurant had good food, unfortunately the service was the worst. The hotel ambiance is very nice but I keep coming back to the whole purpose of getting a hotel which is to sleep, and that was not comfortably possible here. read more

While I did not take notes during my stay at the Theodore, I do recall generally positive feelings about the Hotel. The biggest issues, which stuck with me, regarded room size and the bill. One seemed kind of small, and the other, kind of big. Seeing the 3 1/2 Stars here on Yelp, I'd tend to agree. There is much to like here, but there's a bit of hesitation to go with 4. Customer service was great, and the staff deserves tons of stars. An out-of-left-field request to them was handled with the ease of a seasoned pro. Also, the front desk staff easily answered my off-the-cuff query as to the name of the Hotel Theodore. This engendered a certain confidence and charm. It's a vintage building, and occasionally one can see the limitations of that charm. The plumbing is updated, of course, and it's fun to see some period fixtures, too. The room is kind of small, no doubt about it. But it is comfortable. The TV against the wall appears rather huge, which can be nice. Otherwise, things feel very hip and contemporary. They have a fun Happy Hour type situation in the Lobby, compliments of the Hotel. Never had a chance to imbibe, but it's a lovely, cozy set-up that I wished I could have experienced. Adjoining this lobby is the restaurant bar and restaurant. The restaurant deserves its own review, but I can say here that the bar is a welcome and convenient venue to meet. Yes, I am aware of the day-job of the owner of the Theodore. And, at first I wondered how, if at all, that should effect my review. Ultimately, I prefer to let my impressions regarding the Hotel dictate the review, rather than anything else. I definitely liked the Hotel, and would definitely consider coming back. read more

Good downtown location, clean, simple and basic. 1. Location I wanted to stay in a hotel located in the heart of downtown and in walkable distance from all the key attractions and this hotel is in a good location. It is 15 min walk from Pike market and other interesting places. 2. Cleanliness No bugs or problems. Pretty good noise canceling, cause I heard no noise from neighbors. Towels are clean and sheets seemed clean, I slept in my full coverage pajama just in case. 3. No free breakfast They don't provide free breakfast like most hotels. But I was ok with it since my plan all along has been to eat the famous clam chowder but not eat hotel breakfast. This didn't bother me, but worth noting if it is important for you. 4. Free wifi Very fast, good wifi is available to the guests. 5. Free luggage hold up I checked out by 11 am, but was flying at 10 pm, they held my luggage all day for free. Their luggage storage is outside, so if you have something that shouldn't be in hot or cold weather in your luggage, this may not work well for you. Worked just fine for me. 6. Always unavailable restaurant They do theoretically have a restaurant downstairs, however, during my entire 3 day stay here, they had private parties in the restaurant, so this was a no-go. If you need a hotel that has food inside, this hotel isn't for you. 7. Gym I worked out around 8-9 am every day I stayed here. They have only 2 treadmills and one of the days, I had to wait about 45 mins before getting on it. Since there are many guests and given the small size of the gym, it had lines at times. However, I am grateful they had a gym. Hot and cold water dispenser is in the gym and free towels to use in the room too. 3 Yoga mats were available if you need that. 8. Service Finally, the overall service. It was great. No nonsense, efficient check in and out, room was cleaned on timely manner while I was out, towels were replaced as requested and they were willing to answer questions whenever I had one. All in all, it is not a cheap hotel due to its location, but it is not as luxurious as they made themselves seem to be on their website. I was a bit shocked to see the hotel in person versus their website. But, I still had a pleasant stay here. read more
