Desk clerk recommended a nearby restaurant that we could walk to with elderly Parkinson's patient on walker.
Restaurant was not where he said it was, dad was fainting, had to leave him on street while we scouted ahead.
Found restaurant, was open, went back for dad, returned to restaurant, was closed six to eight--not uncommon for Spanish restaurants, but desk clerk did not mention.
Many hotels host guests from other countries who have every reason to think clerks will actually help with local customs instead of risking the health of the severely disabled on a guess. Not this one.
Came back to complain and clerk said he didn't realize, when we asked for directions to a place to eat, and then left- stating our intention to eat- that we had actually planned to eat, just because we said that was exactly what we were doing.
No concern at all for what could have happened to my dad on his walker out in the heat on the street trying to find a restaurant whose location and hours said clerk did not actually know.
This is not a hotel to which anyone should bring beloved disabled or elderly parents. Only bring your less-beloved disabled and elderly parents that you are willing to risk exposing to heat stroke for no reason.
Also- a/c was out. Have been moved to a cooler room of about half the size as previous. No reduction in rate has been offered.
Just spent three wonderful days in Barcelona. First day in Madrid ruined for no reason because clerk was ignorant and didn't care enough to find someone else who had the intelligence to actually help my disabled dad. Unforgivable. read more
