We were excited with all the positive reviews to stay at the Hotel Regina. Normally, I suspect I would have probably enjoyed my stay. However, the hotel failed to inform us that the hotel was under renovation and on my floor which would have been fine. However, the room assigned was next to a room that was under renovation. Not only was the only window in our room was covered in plastic so you cannot see out nor any light comes in, the jack hammering and construction started early at 8AM. It was not pleasant to be awakened by the noise of construction next door. No compensation or satisfactory customer service consideration was given to us. We were never told that the room assigned was next to construction. It was very disappointing in the responsiveness in the hotel. I am sure the hotel will continue to do well after the construction and renovation are completed as it is in a good and convenient location. If you have a car, they do not offer parking, but rely on a private underground parking garage about a block away at 20% discount. I was not a happy camper during this stay and I cannot say I would come back or recommend Hotel Regina due to this incident and experience.

Loved this boutique hotel. Very clean and very comfortable. Request the interior rooms for a little more space but overall an excellent hotel for the price! Staff was very friendly and efficient! Best location too, walking distance to everything.

The rooms are very clean, sleek and modern. The staff was great and very accommodating. Hotel is centered around many attractions, restaurants and bars. I would stay here again. The rooms are very comfortable and you can't beat the location.

Location, location, location! This place is perfectly centered in the Puerta Del Sol neighborhood, and conveniently located by the Sevilla and Puerta Del Sol Metro stations, which makes going to/from Barajas Airport very easy and convenient. The hotel itself is pretty modern in terms with updated bathrooms and guest rooms, which is very nice. From the outside, the hallways and the lobby, the hotel looks kind of old, so I am glad at least the rooms/bathrooms are fairly new! The bathroom includes a standard toilet and for those who like to wash their butts, a bidet! I personally didn't use the bidet. The hotel also offers free wifi, which was pretty spotty from my room. The wifi signal is stronger, as you might expect, I'm the lobby area... Which can get pretty filled with visitors on their iPhones and iPads. With spotty Internet it definitely made looking things up to eat and do a bit harder than usual... That and Facebook and Instagram was hard to use without a strong wifi signal! There also aren't ice machines in the hotel, so if you want to get ice you'll have to ask for a bolsa de hielo from the restaurant. If the restaurant is closed, a member of the front desk can help you grab a bag. The front desk are very friendly and helpful. I had a RyanAir flight to catch, and because I didn't print my boarding pass before I travelled abroad, I needed to print it out so that I wouldn't be charged an arm and a leg for printing my boarding pass at the airport. The front desk helped me out and printed the passes for me, which was great. Overall, I was pleased with Hotel Regina even with the minor annoyance of spotty Internet. The hotel offers a reasonably priced accommodation with great staff and a great location!

I would recommend staying here if you are staying in Madrid. This hotel is right by multiple metro station, which make it really easy to navigate the city. Also, it is within walking distance to alot of great bars and restaurants. They have a great restaurant in the hotel that serves a great breakfast buffet. The only reason I gave this hotel 4/5 stars is the bathroom in our room had some issues with the door frame falling and nearly hitting my girlfriend

My memory isn't always the best, but I'm pretty darn sure this is the same place I stayed at the last time I was in Madrid - about 14 years ago. Unless there's another schwanky hotel right next door (I don't think there is), it is the same place. I loved it last time I went and I loved it this time. I can't emphasize enough how close to everything this hotel is. It's only blocks from Plaza del Sol which more or less connects you with outlets to various parts of the city -- all of which are close. Our room was spotless and modern. There's not a thing I could say against it. There was no view to speak of, we were somewhere near the back of the building, but frankly, we were happy with that. The hotel is situated on a main street that may (or may not) have been noisy overnight. Our room was quiet and that suited us just fine. The staff was friendly, accommodating and helpful. When we needed dinner reservations, they handled that for us. Just nice. We did have dinner at the restaurant and while it was good, we didn't love it. It was a bit of money to spend on something we didn't like that much. I felt like they were too concerned with how the food looked than how it might have tasted. Otherwise, as a hotel alone, I would HIGHLY recommend.

    Killer view from my room

Okay minus one for the extremely slow moving elevators but the room was really nice, service was excellent, and the breakfast was chefs kiss! The room was decked out in a beautiful gold with a sofa, table, and spacious bed. Amenities included WiFi, complimentary shoe cleaning, and glass bottles of water daily. The outside view was nice (top of the palace or something), bathroom was spacious with complimentary body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, and lotion. There is a coffee machine in the room as well as a small fridge with drinks and snacks priced per item. They had 2 robes in the room, velvet clothing hangers, and the softest room slippers. They have an awesome breakfast buffet, which cost 45 euros each day or about 30 euros if you pay for all days of your stay. The breakfast although stayed the same every day, were all healthy and fresh ingredients from creamy scrambled eggs, thinly sliced jamon and Manchego cheese, to fresh fruits, fresh juices, buttery croissants, fresh honey comb, pancakes, churros, and make your own omelet station. Also right across the street is the famous Prado Museum and The Cooking Clubhouse cooking class. Their service was excellent helping me load-in and load-out my luggage and there's even an indoor lounge and bar. Would come back 10/10, Salud!! :))

Double room with two comfortable twin beds and bathroom. The room faced the Calle de Anocha side. Very little car traffic on this small street. Small TV, but who's in Madrid to watch TV anyway? A couple restaurants, hostales, a bank, and a government building anchor this small square. Makes for a relatively quiet evening. For the money that you pay in the location it is, you can't wish for more. Very tempted to actually give this place 5 stars ... Where's that 1/2 star when you need it? ;) The location for this little gem can't get any better, located right in the heart of Madrid's tapas district: La Latina. The reception is located together with the bar, which may be a little confusing for some, but the service is so welcoming and friendly, that it poses absolutely no problems. You are not only welcomed with a smile, but a welcome drink, which is exactly what you need/want when you just arrive somewhere. The bar is also welcoming and well furnished with a homely feeling The room wasn't massive, but furnished with very modern and chic decor giving it a very funky upmarket feeling. The bathroom was also very modernly decked out. More space was given to the bathroom than around the bed, which I appreciated. The shower was also a walk in jobby, not one of these bath/shower combos which I have no time for (having no kids mind you). We had a room with balcony facing the street which was just perfect. Fair to say that come morning there was a fair bit of noise with rubbish trucks and the like waking us up, but to me this only added to the charm of the place. Experiencing the hustle and bustle of a city is exactly the reason I travel to such place .... Others I'm sure would not agree. Very nicely furnished (rooms, bar, restaurant etc.), sweet location, friendly service. What more could you want? Highly recommended!!

The hotel is right on the popular Cava Baja road, where there is no shortage of tapas restaurants and boisterous, young night lifers spilling out of bars and restaurants and into the street from sundown to well in the morning. The hotel's own entire first floor is a restaurant, with an open-roof courtyard of tables. This sounds nice but presents a problem as the rooms surround this courtyard on the above floors. The noise wasn't *horrible* but it was definitely noticeable - talking, chatting, clinking, laughing - until midnight or so. The rooms are small but with good use of space. My sister and I shared a room, and the lack of mirror of any kind outside the bathroom made it hard for two of us to get ready at once. Also, the bathroom is a sliding glass door with frosted glass, so I don't recommend this for non-couple sharers or those who don't know each other really well. The breakfast buffet was €12, which seemed a bit steep for a breakfast, but the fresh juice and croissants looked tasty. The location was excellent -- we could walk to Mercado San Miguel, Plaza Mayor, Sabatini Gardens, and walking to Museo del Prado and the Reina Sofia was do-able if you wished.
