    Club lounge drinks

This was my second time at the hotel and it was even better than the first! It was my mother's first and she loved it. Firstly, the hotel is convenient to bus tours and everything is 5-10 mins on a bus or cab. Madrid is A walkable city. The airport is 15-20 minutes max. The sevice is incredible and for that alone I would return. It was my mother's birthday and they made sure she felt special. The concierge was amazing and helped us plan our days. Every single employee treated us amazing. Thanks to the concediese and Juan Carlos as well as all of the employees in the kitchen and lounge for taking care of us. The Club room was totally worth it! Ours had a cute balcony and was a spacious club room. It was truly incredible! Food: If you love breakfast, I highly recommend that you add breakfast to your stay as it's a great hotel breakfast and the coffee is amazing! They even have a nespresso for guests. The Jardin Intercontinental resto is also great. We only had light snacks but again, the best service! Club lounge is also very nice and has an array of drinks and snacks. Great for some down time after a day in the city or just to hangout. Many business men and women were also taking calls while grabbing a snack. Overall, it was an amazing stay and I would highly recommend the Intercontinental.

InterContinental Madrid is located on Madrid's Paseo de la Castellana Avenue, 150 m from Gregorio Marañón Metro Station. This converted 18th-century palace has an attractive restaurant with a garden terrace. The spacious, air-conditioned rooms at the InterContinental feature classic-style décor. Each one comes with flat-screen satellite TV, a mini-bar and a private bathroom. Free WiFi is available. The El Jardín Restaurant serves a daily buffet breakfast, and on Sundays there is an extensive brunch. Bar 49 offers a wide range of wines, cocktails and gourmet tapas. The InterContinental has a 24-hour gym, and massage is available on prior request. The suites and club rooms have access to the hotel's InterContinental Club, which includes a lounge where you can enjoy an all-day buffet, computers, free ironing service and late check-out. The hotel is just 400 m from Calle Serrano Street, famous for its shops. Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabéu is just 1 metro stop away. Barajas Airport is 7.5 mi away. Dr. Erick J. This hotel is amazing. Beautiful funitures, decorations, interior design, fragrance, chandeliers, marble floor, live piano music, etc., make up to the luxurious standard intercon promises. Staffs are extraordinarily friendly and courteous, going extra miles and doing their best to make guests feel comfortable. I didn't have to ask for anything. I am just pleasantly surprised by their service and can't wait to share the best hotel experience to others.

We were treated like royalty. Everyone from the front desk to the bellman were eager to help. The best part was the club lounge access and free upgrades available to IHG members, which is the one hotel membership I'd strongly recommend. The concierge had great inside knowledge of the city and was able to book reservations for us at Coral de la Moreria, for great food and Flamenco entertainment. This made our stay in Madrid such a blast and one for the memory bank! Internet was fast.

Spain seemed hit or miss when it came to both hotels and food. This hotel had the best of both worlds, great room and great food. The other reviews are correct in that it is a little out of the way, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

    Putting the tub to use

This was a great welcome to Spain choice hotel. We arrived early and our room was not ready and the only other room available was a smoking room. We decided to pay for an upgrade so we could get checked-in. We ended up with a jr. suite and access to the club as a bonus. The room was a good size, clean and faced the city. There was a tub and a shower; it took a bath that evening. The bathroom products were by L'Occtaine, one of my favorite brands. The club area was one of the better ones I have seen. It was tended to all day and the selections were so good that you could have easily forgotten to go out to explore for lunch and dinner. The gym and spa were nice - we did not use them but did take a look at the offerings. Breakfast was served buffet style in the dining area every morning and that was also out f they world. The selections were plentiful, anything you wanted was there: eggs, meats, cheeses, fresh juices, blood pudding, fruits, vegetables, etc - ALL fresh. The servers were very kind and professional and so was the management. If you are plan to stay in Madrid I would defiantly consider this hotel. It is also in walking distance to all the main attractions and downtown. We could walk to the Prado museum.

Loved this stay, located in Salamanca, which is the nicest and safest part of Madrid. Our check-in…read morewas very efficient and the hotel itself looks very well kept and maintained. The room was a nice size, excellent shower pressure and I utilized the safe (keep your passport, cash, extra credit cards safe) and hair dryer. The workout room was also well endowed with all the necessary equipment. There's also an infinity pool on the roof and seating for an evening drink after your swim. I enjoyed the breakfast selections and I went a little over board with the churros and lattes. But I also ate a bunch of fruit and different types of cheese. It's a struggle to make weight, the struggle is very real!! Note: Skip the churros and go to a legit churro shop, so, save your calories. This is the most important tip for Madrid..for me at least... Going back to this location (Salamanca neighborhood), which is very key, from here you can walk down Calle (street) de Serrano and visit all the stores as well as El Cortes Ingles mall (kinda like Macy's). Keep walking down south and you'll end up at Parque El Retiro, which is a great place to appreciate the greenery, sculptures, ponds, etc.. There's also the US embassy, which is just 5 minutes away from the hotel, just in case you have any issues. Hope you don't. I also forgot to bring my USA t-shirts on this trip, so I didn't get a chance to represent.

Luxurious, high-end hotel with many amenities. We were welcomed with a tray of cheese, crackers,…read moresome olives and squid, and local drinks. Rooms are cleaned daily and a chocolate at your bedside at night. They provide slippers and a bathrobe too. And they give you a few beautiful, blue glass bottles of water daily! Our stay included a free breakfast buffet served from 7-11am. They had a variety of savory and sweet breakfast items. Your choice of scrambled, hard boiled, sunny side up eggs, bacon, sausages, cheeses, cured iberico ham and sausages, turkey, smoked salmon, variety of fruit, salad, cold cereal, juices, bread, some gluten free baked goods, croissants/pastries. The front desk is helpful and accommodating. We'd like to thank Carmen who has been great at recommending great dining spots (Casa Dani and Cadaques)! They also have a van outside that can drive you to nearby attractions if it's available. You can't reserve it but if it's there, the driver is at your disposal. We were able to grab the van for the Royal Palace, which would have been a 40 minute walk. The van was available around 11:30 am and noon on another day. Most other times, it's been gone. But so glad it was there on the day we needed it! Many attractions are about 20-40 minutes by walking. The hotel is close enough to tourist spots, but far enough from crowds. The area around is high-end like Beverly Hills with LV, Gucci, Cartier, etc just up the block. There is also a department store, El Corte Inglés in the same direction as well. The front desk has 10% off discount cards if you tell them you will be shopping in that department store. There are a few drawbacks. The room was tiny. Bathtub may not be comfortable for all as it was very narrow even for a normal sized person. But I think those are the only things I felt it was lacking. And maybe if you wanted to be closer to the center of town, you may not want to be this far. There are a few metro stations for your convenience if you don't like long walks. But we were fine with walking most of the time. Thankful for their services and their warm and kind hospitality. It made our trip a memorable one!
