HOTEL LBI is a one of a kind hotel on LBI. A destination in itself! Between the condo style rooms to the incredible rooftop bar with fire pits to enjoy the sunset and evening or the indoor/outdoor pool that makes even rainy weather enjoyable you can't go wrong in staying here! I recommend the restaurant, food and service is very good. The rooftop bar is an attraction in itself but run by inexperienced door attendants . Was asked to wait outside in the heat when it reaches capacity . Probably should have been suggested to wait somewhere in the hotel where it was air conditioned. Just spent close to $800 on dinner for a large crowd and it would have been nice to have us admitted to rooftop without having to wait outside on the side of the building . We come down every year and wanted to visit the rooftop bar at LBI Hotel. We took a look around the hotel, the lobby is gorgeous! The pool is quite small, but they have an area with 6 inches that holds a lot of deck chairs- maybe it could be converted to pool. Rooftop Bar was gorgeous. If there is an area to upload pictures, I will. Drinks costs a little high, which we expected. Served in large plastic cups with lots and lots of ice. I personally felt the drinks were very watered down. They had a lot of entertaining games to play, shuffleboard, checkers, junga, corn hole. Most people enjoyed it. We had to go downstairs to go to the bathroom, which kind of breaks up the flow. But overall, I would say if your on LBI, you should go up there for a drink on a lovely evening and enjoy it! read more

After a horrific weekend of noise all night, no parking and unresponsive manager, I will never stay here again and will advise the same to everyone I know. Stayed overnight for one night this past weekend with my husband just for a mini getaway. We had a great time - pool and hot tub area were nice and quiet. Living room bar and Salt restaurant bar were packed by 4:30ish on Friday night, but the two bartenders at the Salt restaurant bar were very helpful along with I believe his name was Keith (the food and beverage manager perhaps) who helped us out. This is a new hotel where the old Quater deck in was in ship bottom , NJ...very pretty hotel. We just went for the roof top bar. Beautiful scenic spot overlooking LBI....there are no bathrooms on the roof nor do they serve food. Extremely slow to get there as theres only 1 elevator that goes to the roof and theres an hour wait for that. Once you get to the roof there are comfy chairs and fire pits and live music. Theres another line to get downstairs where the bathrooms are. You are not permitted to use the stairs. So if you encounter a bathroom emergency this can be rough. Not enough parking either for such a large building. Perhaps the experience would be better if you are a hotel guest, but for a local wanting a summer hangout and an eatery not good. We ended up going down to the poolside bar on 1st floor to eat. The menu there is extremely limited and service extremely slow. read more

Beautiful hotel and great experience over all but there are definitely some things that could be improved upon. I rented one of the 8 person suites with the bunk beds for my family of 4 plus my brothers family of 4. It was for a Saturday night offseason and with taxes room was about 700. We arrived around 130 Saturday afternoon and the room wasn't ready yet which was fine as check in wasn't until 4 although I do feel 4 is on the later side for a check in. We decided to have a few drinks to kill some time at the bar. I ordered 2 beers and opened a tab and gave the bartender my credit card. At first everything seems fine and we ordered a second round of beers. At this point bar started getting busier I believe from a wedding party. My brother's family arrived at this point and I told my sister in law to go get herself and my brother a drink and put it on the open tab. I recommended the Kane Turtle Board they had on draft. My sister in law asked the bartender for the turtle beer I recommended and they told her there was no drink with the world turtle in it so she came back to me and I told her specifically what it was and she went back and the bartender realized what she was finally talking about after making her feel like she clueless when in fact he was the one that was clueless and at least know what's on tap. She then tried to place it on my tab and he told her there was no open tabs. This leads to a debate between him and another bartender to whether or not there are any open tabs. She took the drinks at this point, told them where we were sitting and to figure it out. Shortly after this around 3 our room was ready so went out to close out the tab. At this point they asked me what I had. I'm sorry but I've been to 100's of bars and have never been asked this question, this is not my responsibility. I was polite and told them the 6 beers the had but honestly I could have said anything. I mentioned that 2 of the beers were stellas and they asked me I i was the one that had to exchange them because they were bad. I said no but it didn't make me feel good to know that the 2 beers my wife had were possible from a bad tap. I also had the bartender stare at me wondering how I was paying to then have to remind her that she had my card. Overall once it got busy the bar got very unorganized. We got to the room and it was beautiful and spacious but I can't say it was perfect. 1. No WiFi password provided by front desk which I believe should be relatively standard at this point. 2. Floors lifting up a bit in places and you can feel it when walking on them. 3. Sound proofing lacking. 4. No lock on bathroom, I'm sorry but in a suite that sleeps 8 that bathroom needs a lock. 5. Poor shower design can't turn on faucet with out walking into shower as door where faucet is doesn't move. None of these things would keep me from coming back but for what we paid I was expecting better and it came up short. Finally pool doesn't open until 12 and the kids were hoping to swim in morning. There is not a life guard on duty at any point so not sure why there are no morning hours for swimming. Not saying I wouldn't come back but at the price the hotel needs to up their game. read more

This is our 15th summer coming to LBI. Our 3rd summer staying in a hotel as opposed to renting a house. Aesthetically this hotel is beautiful. Things run a bit slow, however, expected as this is a new hotel. Rooms are immaculate. Pool is quite small and does not accommodate all hotel guests as there are approximately 15 lounge chairs and hundreds of guests. It has rained the past 2 days so the pool is decently packed. Here is my issue.. We leave the room by 9am, come back around 11am to change and housekeeping is in the room next to ours and across. We leave a tip for house keeping at 9am and 11am the tip is already gone and there are 4 new towels in the room. It is now 2:30 and we have 4 children scattered around the hotel because we had to call the front desk to get our room cleaned. Some of us are waiting in the lobby.. For $550 per night I don't feel this acceptable because if we didn't call our room would have remained uncleaned. Now the lady cleaning room doesn't get tipped because of another staff member who walked in took the tip off the bed and left 4 towels. Next issue you have to buy your own beach badges.. you are given 2 per room. We are a family of 6. Beach shuttle drivers are awesome. I would prefer staying at the seashell.. just my opinion, happy hour, pool, beach and staff has never disappointed. Also there are no balconies and the view we have is of a roof. Service- On a positive note Hussan who works downstairs.. Super helpful greeted us, and assisted us whenever we came to and from the beach.. maybe he should help retrain the rest of the staff.. read more

Hotel LBI - Hotels Near Me - Ship Bottom, New Jersey

We decided to stay in LBI for the night and wanted to try out the new hotel on the island. The hotel I feel is in a very awkward spot coming in over the bridge onto the island. It sits right in the middle of the entrance and exit of the island which makes it difficult to get into and out of the hotel, especially when the traffic is at its busiest. There is only valet parking if you want to park in their parking garage otherwise there is very limited parking on a side road next to the hotel. The staff at the front desk did not seem very friendly, but it could have been due to that it was late and they were tired. The hotel was clean and new. Our room was very large with a kitchenette and an area to watch tv. Our beds were also comfortable. We were on the 3rd floor and had a view of the bay. The only issue I had with the room is that it had a lot of hard surfaces which caused any noise to be extremely loud including the outside hallway. Over all it was a good experience for one night and fitted our needs. read more

Had high hopes for this rooftop bar until we received our food in takeout containers- and yes i understand the covid restrictions but all the other restaurants on the island serve their meals on plates. the portions were outrageous (in a bad way) for the price. a 10$ side salad was eaten in 2/3 bites and that's no exaggeration. paid $80+ for 6 "side" dishes and ended up going to joeys for pizza, which was amazing btw. management did not even bother to appease us. not happy at all. read more

First time there on Monday night. Beautiful place with nautical setting. The service was exceptional !! Our servers Hannah and assistant Patrick were nothing less than excellent. The manager (Matt) made sure everything was perfect. Food was served hot and was outstanding. We had the tomahawk veal chop, and the shrimp dish. A great new addition to LBI. I have stayed at this hotel 3 times since it has opened. And for the 1st ever tonight as a woman I should not feel unsafe trying to order a drink at the rooftop bar. Hotel guests surprisingly have no priority at this hotel and they let the non-hotel guests who have no class up at this rooftop bar. This place with that type of clientele will go downhill fast. I ordered a glass of wine at the bar and got repeatedly elbowed in the ribs by a man who was clearly larger and made derogatory statements against me. I made it clear to other guests at the bar I was just trying to order a drink and this man was completely inappropriate and classless. Thank you to Keith at the rooftop bar for being a classy employee and tried to diffuse the situation. I will never return if this place still allows non hotel guests at this location. read more

This place is beautiful. But drinks and food are way over priced. Poolside bar with a small menu with narrow options. Trying to navigate the inside of this place too is pretty tough it's like a maze. Also not sure they've quite worked out their kinks. Downstairs staff says you can bring your food up to rooftop bar but then pool bar staff says you get yelled at and you're not supposed to- so that's confusing. Just so everyone knows this place is surrounded by commercial buildings and such- nothing pretty to look at unless your on the rooftop. Traffic was insane too good luck getting in and out. read more

Wish I can leave this place a .25 of a star. Absolutely horrific experience. Arrived an hour early which I understand some places the rooms womt be ready, front desk took my information and said we would get a text when room was ready. Check in was at 4. Never received a text rearrived at 4:45 to be told that our room has been ready. All my pregnant fiance wanted to do was relax and shower after us driving 3 hours to get here. We were also told by the front desk receptionist that the pool was by reservations only. Weird? So she said a few available spots were open, when we tried to get some pool time, the lady told us that we couldn't put our name down and we would just have to come back maybe and see if any spots were open. Unbelievable to charge 600 a night and cant even swim?? Tried to get reservations for salt. NOPE. But funny thing is we were lucky enough to sneak a reservation to the rooftop bar. Over heard the server up there tell his cousin that he can sneak him to a table to SALT. You gotta be kidding me right? This was my birthday weekend getaway and couldn't be more disappointed. La spiaggia next door was FANTASTIC. The front desk here seem like me and my future wife were a nuisance and she also started balling her eyes out after being told we couldn't swim. The pool doesnt reopen until 12? Checkouts at 11. Convenient. Other amenities such as the spa and gym were closed but yet we still got charged the full 589 american dollars to stay over. I hope a manager reads this and understands how disgusted we are with this place. We've stayed at 5 star hotels all around the country and have never been more upset or treated like this anywhere. Came by this fine establishment to see what all of the fuss was about. Was extremely disappointed within 5 minutes when it was nearly impossible to get to the rooftop bar. When we got there, it was extremely difficult to get an overpriced drink and were shooed out at 10:45 PM on a Friday because the staff wanted to go home. Hotel LBI is a welcome new addition to the assortment of motels and bed/breakfast offerings on beautiful Long Beach Island. Although their price point is exceptionally high for an off season stay, we chose to spend a brief anniversary weekend at this relatively new property. There is much potential here, but they are seriously understaffed for the expected service level and if leadership starts at the top, General Manager Julie Barlow is woefully incapable of running this property. The problem this property has is an expectation level for the room rates they extract. If our total nightly cost had been much lower, as is the case with just about every other property on LBI, we would have expected much less. And in a sold-out situation, which we were led to believe was the case at this hotel due to large wedding parties, this property simply was not capable of servicing the needs of their guests. Upon arrival, we were greeted by valet parking staff who told us the hotel was short-staffed and they could not assist us with our car or luggage. The wood floors of our King suite were sticky and the single shower floor was incredibly dirty, indicative of a housekeeping staff that was either too busy, poorly-trained, or simply didn't care. Linen replacement excluded wash cloths, and when we inquired they found an extra one somewhere in the hotel but apparently their linen inventory is far too low. Dishes had been left in the dishwasher, and hotel policy is if you don't request housekeeping by 10:00 am you won't have your room cleaned that day. We made it a point of making that request every morning, and the response to our daily call was "we'll put you on the list but can't tell you when they'll get to your room." During our three night stay they inexplicably missed one day. Our experience in dealing with front desk personnel was perfunctory at best and dismissive at worst (Alexis in particular could use some rudimentary training in bedside manner), and in the case of the missing housekeepers we were told we were out of luck. Given this subpar experience, we requested an audience with GM Julie Barlow several times, only to be told she wasn't available or in a meeting or not working that day. Upon check-out, we even asked the front desk employee Liz to please interrupt her, but were told she was to busy to speak with unhappy guests of her hotel. Liz subsequently gave us a $500 credit toward, and we left both of our names and full contact info with her for the GM to follow up with us. It's been a week and there has been no word, so we can only assume this GM is having extended meetings with hotel personnel to teach them the basics of helping and managing guest relations. Unfortunately, unless the management company (Gulphcreek Hotels) or the property owner (Chris Vernon and Mercer Development) of the LBI Hotel are made aware of what is going on day-to-day at this new property, nothing will change to make it a place anyone visiting LBI would want to visit and stay at. read more

My mother and I went for a manicure and pedicure at the lighthouse spa in Hotel LBI this morning and it was the best spa that we have ever been too! The service was out of this world, they couldn't do enough for us! Jeanie gave us both a manicure and a pedicure, she was very friendly, knowledgeable and made sure that we were having a great time! Deb at the front desk was very friendly and even came back to check on us and took our lunch orders. Went for drinks on rooftop to watch the sunset a couple of times. It's a beautiful spot for a drink but totally overrated when considering the product. $13 for a Cosmopolitan served in a regular plastic cup only 1/4 of the way full?? With all the money invested in this place I guess they ran out to buy proper plastic martini glasses. The other mixed drinks weren't much better in terms of alcohol content. If you're going to go, stick to beer and wine - at least you know what you're getting. My wife and her girlfriends also went for dinner last weekend and they all came back with the same response- decent food but underwhelming given the prices. This is coming from a group that frequently goes to high-end places and are happy to spend the money if you get what you pay for. A bit disappointing considering that the place is beautiful and has so much potential. Hopefully they figure things out and this review gets updated one day - but it'll take some time before we will go back. read more

We just went to the rooftop bar for drinks with family. The set up of the space and views are nice, but the drinks were below average, especially for the price and served in cheap, disposable plastic cups (like the type you would find wrapped in plastic in a Days Inn bathroom at an exit off of 95). Had a great time yesterday on the roof all of the staff were so kind and helpful! Our server on the roof caliegh (don't know if I spelled that correctly) was friendly, knowledgeable and recommended a blueberry smash it was soooo good! I would have given the hotel a 5 out of 5 however we made our way down to the pool bar thinking we'd get one more drink maybe an appetizer. We were not greeted with a 'hello how are you' just what do you want to drink. The bartender was not personable at all and she made us very uncomfortable we only had a beer each. read more

This place is beautiful...My wife and I went to the rooftop first for a drink and then to Salt for dinner. We were treated perfectly...the staff was excellent and the food was awesome. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Everything from the atmosphere, employees, service and food was perfect. Our server, Amanda was wonderful! She was very informative on the menu and even asked if we had any food allergies or dietary concerns. We got scallops and halibut which was extremely tasty.
