I wanted an all inclusive vibe without the plane ride so this was it. Hard working friendly staff run the show here and everyone from the valet team to the front desk were outstanding. I loved the beach shuttle and free beach chairs. The rooms are spacious, immaculate and the shower actually has water pressure! We didn't dine on the property but they have plenty of options. Odd location on the highway but very close to all the island has to offer. Why this is not 5 stars: the pillows were way too soft on the bed. You need to use three to get comfortable. I also wish this was adults only. Huge families with obnoxious kids up at all hours of the night, all crammed into a tiny pool area which made it unusable for us. They took over the hot tub and pool, god forbid an adult wants to use this!

Came down to LBI to celebrate milestone birthday and first thing we see is the view from room 224. Gtfo with that. Paying over $650 / night for 3 nights, and enjoying the view of samsungs filtration and ac units. Just beautiful. Shower water smells like sewage and the same coming from the drain, had to put a towel over it to prevent fumes from coming up. Tried to eat breakfast there and it took close to hour to flag someone and get a bowl of yogurt with granola. It's also in a crappy location, and they tell you the shuttle runs to the beach, but what they don't tell you is that you'll wait half hour because it only fits 5-6 people (a minivan) and there's a line every morning. The ship bottom beach has no public restrooms or parking, so you either walk to Wawa 2 blocks and wait in a bathroom line there (again it's the only nearest bathroom) or call the shuttle to go back to the hotel. Based on the overall experience we'd never return. Also, room 224 should just be boarded up. Like why would you do this to your patrons?

A quick anniversary getaway for one night we decided to give the Hotel LBI a try and we were very happy with our choice. New, lovely and everything very spacious including our room we were soon talking about a return visit down the road in a month or two. What's not to like about happy hour on a Friday night and the place was a buzz with mostly locals roaming in to check out their new gateway hotel to their barrier island. Two bars accommodate the crowded happy hour and both very busy indeed serving drinks and bar food by their friendly staff. Prices were very friendly as well. Although there seems to be a fair number of disgruntled visitors, based on their Yelp reviews, I can only speak to our visit which was a single night in a king suite and we were very pleased. Check out my attached photos of our room which was AAA discounted for a decent price considering the accommodation.

Another great stay here. It's like being at a high end resort. Rooms are so big and beautiful. Bed is so comfortable everything they do is right. Valet service free. Room turn over done while your out. Nothing cheaply made they don't cut corners. Believe me it's not cheap at all for anything here. Your paying top dollar but I find it worth it for being pampered couple times a year

Food was delicious. Abby was an absolutely amazing server. She was constantly checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed, knew the menu very well, and chimed in with good jokes throughout the night. Try their Mac and cheese, short rib & lovely lady drink. Overall great night with even better service

Pretty good for "Whataya, new¿" Rooftop bar is great. Awesome views, good drinks. Get up there early, they have a rooftop capacity reg., and an elevator operator with a counter. Interior decor is very well appointed. Rooms $$$$. Salt restaurant, is good and can get better.... PLEASE INVEST IN CEILING MOUNTED NOISE ABSORPTION TECHNOLOGY.

Ask the Community - Hotel LBI

Do they have a happy hour?

Yes - Tues-Thurs 5-7pm inside. I am pretty sure the rooftop has something too, but not 100%

Are the in room kitchens stocked with pots , pans Etc.?

Is the rooftop bar open to the public?

Yes, I believe it's open until 10. They do have a cap at how many people can be up there so sometimes people have to wait to go up. It's so nice though!

To start, you have to call for availability and to book a room. You will likely talk to Joe, one of the owners, who always seems to run the front desk. Joe is a TOTAL sweetheart. He made the booking process easy and simple and wished us safe travels on our way to the Motel. We were also going to be arriving a bit late and Joe kept the front desk open so we could pick up our keys! The rooms are so cute and have almost everything you need for a weekend away. We had a fridge, microwave, tv, and Keurig in our room. The only think that seemed to be missing was a hairdryer so be sure to bring your own when you come! One of the best things about the Motel was that Joe gave us a ton of suggestions for restaurants and things to do on the coast. The Islander Motel also provides beach tags for guests so you don't have to buy a daily one at the beach. Our stay at the Islander Motel was awesome! We will definitely be coming back to visit again sometime soon. Thank you Joe!!

We felt the effects of the door slam each and every time it was used. It was horrible ! As for the lower level garden area bar it is a very nice area. Bar service was hit and miss . We ordered food while sitting at the garden area bar, my order was messed up . Also, the server who brought our food out asked if we needed anything else . We told him and we never seen him again. The bartender told us that that person won't be back . He went himself and brought back what we needed . I opted not to send my food back. We went up to the rooftop bar a few days later . The drinks were horrible. We ordered appetizers and entrees. I only ordered an entree . The appetizers came out about 15 minutes later and the main dishes took over an hour. The manager greeted us before we ordered our food . As we waited a few servers & the manager swung by and asked if everything was okay. I told the manager that our food was taking extremely long . Didn't matter to him I guess . Finally our food arrived and the person asked do we need anything else . I requested some mayo, he said okay. He ran down the stairs as if he was headed to get it . He didn't . The next time I saw him, he had another table's food in hand. He whizzed by me and I asked if he had the mayo. I had already finished my food but it didn't matter . He totally ignored me ! I do recommend this hotel but I would recommend that you go elsewhere for a meal.

Writing this review to warn people booking off season stays! I've stayed here many times in July…read moreand August and had a great time. Recently just stayed the second weekend of May for Mother's Day weekend and was very disappointed. I inquired prior to booking to ask if the pool would be open and they said yes so I booked rooms for me, my sisters and their kids. I figured May is hit or miss, but at least if the weather isn't great we could just hang out in the heated pool. Unfortunately they do not disclose prior to booking, or when I inquired about the pool, that the pool and pool deck is blocked off and you can only go in a small area on the shallow end if they are having a wedding. Well ends up, they had weddings both Friday and Saturday. I think in the off season months May, June, September, October this is very common here. Pretty much the entire premises was blocked off both days for weddings. We tried to go down to the tiki bar Friday evening around 7/8pm (which was the only place on the premises open for guests not going to the wedding) and it was closed already so there was really nothing on the premises for us to do. The rooms are too small to really hang out in (no couch or table). We did go to the tiki bar earlier in the day and the guys working there were nice, food and drinks were good. The palms trees were not installed yet, didn't know they wouldn't be there.. I had told my nieces and nephews about the palm trees because I always thought it adds something special to the ambiance. I called a couple days prior to our stay to request if our rooms could be next to each other. They said they could not put us next to each other, which was not a big deal, but then unfortunately we could hear everything through the walls of the rooms next to us. Saturday night we were surrounded on both sides by people staying for the weddings and although they just were talking in their rooms when they came up around 11pm, the walls are so thin that we could pretty much make out their entire conversation, which went on until after 1am. All in all it was a disappointing weekend.

Unfortunately this meant that the heated pool, the restaurant and the bar were all closed. Hotel prices should be much cheaper because of this reason, but they aren't. Thankfully, there is a restaurant called Dockside within walking distance on the main boulevard. Rooms are pretty small. Ours had 2 double beds and the area to walk around them is tight. Bathroom area to access the toilet is also tight. You have to enter and squeeze behind the door to close it to access the toilet and we are not large people. The shower stall was nice and big and very clean. It comes with shampoo/conditioner/bath gel in dispensers attached to the shower wall. Blow dryer in the bathroom sink cabinet. There is also an ironing board and iron in the closet. The room looked to be nicely renovated with a coastal and light/bright vibe to it. Everything was clean which is important. The air conditioner was a bit noisy at moments with some rattling but it did the job and didn't keep us awake. There is a mini fridge and a large tv on the wall. The best part is probably the proximity to the beach with easy access.

The site said "The seasonal pool will be open from April to November." This was a big plus to me as, unlike Engleside, Hydrangea House, and many other accommodations in Beach Haven where I've also stayed, this hotel's not too near any of the towns hot spots. It equaled out to about $577 per night for my 5-night stay. Upon arrival I was very disappointed to see that the bar/restaurant was closed for the season. I then approached the check-in desk and the person at the counter told me "We closed the pool this week." I asked, "What about the hot tub?" She replied, "That's closed too." I then asked why the rates are pretty much the same as the summer rates even though much of the hotel's facilities were not in operation, but was told those are just the rates. There were some very loud weddings / private parties in the bar/restaurant, the one that was closed and unavailable to paying hotel guests. At night, in my room, the jazz-type music was at an incredibly high volume and unpleasant to listen to. Around noon one day there was loud pounding on my door, too immediately followed by, what sounded like, someone using an access key for my door lock. I opened the door and the guy just looked at me rather than identifying himself and what he wanted. I'm like, "What?" He then looks over my shoulder gazing around the room and before saying something akin to, "With the stormy weather, we're checking on the guests and the rooms." I thought the whole incident was weird, and that the gentleman should have knocked gentler, gave me an opportunity to get to the door from my bed, and should have also immediately identified himself as hotel personnel, rather than leave me feeling like I might be dealing with Norman Bates. I later asked at the desk to see if he was legit and the lady replied, "Oh, that's my fault."? On the upside, the hotel is clean and the people working there are nice, but they should update their website rather than letting people believe that the pool/hot tub and bar/restaurant are open, and they should also adjust their pricing accordingly when these amenities are not going to be available. It seemed a bait-and-switch, the site's obvious (and, as of today, the site's still continued) misrepresentation of reality. It is way over-priced for just a bed, a view of the ocean, and a night's sleep. This is the first time I've been VERY disappointed in this place, and I've been there several times.
