It's hard to choose the best part--the breakfast each morning was out of this world, our Beachcomber room was incredibly comfortable, and even with a week of rain and fog, there was no shortage of things to do. Since we took our honeymoon a year and a half into our marriage, we decided to renew our vows, and thanks to the incredible kindness of the innkeepers, it became a truly special moment. Brian and Audrey went above and beyond to make our renewal ceremony unforgettable--Audrey provided us with a beautiful bouquet and sparkling cider, while Brian officiated on the rooftop. Their warmth and hospitality made our trip feel magical, despite the weather. We're already looking forward to returning in the summer to fully enjoy the pool and rooftop under sunnier skies. In the meantime, the cozy lounge, endless games, books, puzzles, and thoughtful amenities ensured that every moment was enjoyable. The plush robes, 24/7 tea, coffee, and hot chocolate, delicious food, bikes, and even the beach towels and chairs made us feel completely taken care of. Sand Castle truly offers everything you could want in a getaway, and we can't wait to come back! The lighting includes four wall sconces, a brilliant crystal chandelier, and a beautiful lamp which ties the colors of the room together. Breakfast was delicious and generous, beautifully presented and impeccably served by Anthony, the simpatico founder and owner. His kind wife Maureen bakes muffins, coffee cakes and cookies from scratch, and they are marvelous. Instead of a huge flat screen tv dominating the room, the tv was just the right size -and included are Netflix and Amazon Prime. We look forward to our next stay at The Tower Cottage.

It was fully decorated for Christmas, with Christmas music playing throughout the house and my room even had it's own Christmas tree! I checked-in during tea time and live piano music was being performed in the lobby! My room was clean, warm and cozy. The shared common area had waters, a Keurig machine and delicious home-made treats available. The included breakfast was my favorite part! Everything home-made from the scones, to frittata, fruit salad, lemon cream and clotted cream. It was served in a delightful lavender room with a blazing antique fireplace. If you love antiques and old mansions and fully decorated rooms-this place is for you! Great for a romantic couple getaway, but I just felt like pampering myself for Christmas. Mathis House feels like a warm, cozy hug!

I called them and expected them to say that they had no vegan or gluten-free options. But the owner, Vicki, answered the phone and told me they had vegan and gluten-free tea service, including scones, sandwiches, desserts, and more. I was shocked! My mom and I went there for lunch about a week later. Our waitress was so knowledgeable about the house and the food options and she answered all of our questions. That was the beginning of a long history of coming to the Mathis House. I have since brought groups of friends ranging from five to twenty. We have attended a few Afternoon Teas, including the holiday sessions; Cinco de Mayo, and a Masquerade Murder Mystery. I recently celebrated my birthday there. My favorite thing about the house is how we can view the lovely decorations. The house is decorated to reflect every season. Plus, I love how vintage and classy the atmosphere feels. A visit to the Mathis House is always an enjoyable time!

Everyone was super accommodating. Two blocks from the beach and a parking lot. That in itself is so amazing. No worries about street parking and tickets here. Two badges per room, beach towels and outdoor shower area and hose for feet, chairs etc. The Bentley has been updated recently with paint and more modern bedding. We were super comfortable and the B&B was really quiet. We were in room 12, we had a King and our own bathroom. That was a must for me... Breakfast every day was a huge variety of danish, breads, cheeses and fruit. Legit enough to hold you over until dinner! Stayed here 6 nights and enjoyed every one. The Bentley is a gem for sure. You can choose how you want to stay whether it's a private bath or a shared. Lots of great options!
