The highlights were definitely the food and tea. Everything was delicious, and I appreciated that my dietary restrictions were accommodated without any issues. There was also ample parking, and our server was pleasant. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was the murder mystery itself. We've attended several murder mystery dinners over the years, and this was the least engaging cast we've experienced. The acting lacked the energy and immersion we were expecting, especially considering the cost of the event. Since the performance is the main attraction, we had hoped for a much stronger production. While our server was kind, the service could have been more attentive. We had to ask for water refills and for our tea to be replenished with hot water. Those are small touches that guests should be offered rather than having to request, especially during a tea service. I was also disappointed that wine was only available by the bottle instead of by the glass. Lastly, my companion and I spent a great deal of time creating our costumes for the event. We stepped away briefly to explore one of the beautifully decorated rooms, and during that time the costume contest was held. We either didn't hear or weren't given a clear announcement before it began, so we completely missed the opportunity to participate. Better communication would have made a big difference. Overall, the venue, food, and tea were excellent, but the quality of the performance and some aspects of the service and event organization left us disappointed. With improvements in those areas, this could be a truly memorable experience.

We can't say enough how beautiful Christina made the table setting for our dinner and how lovely everything turned out. The outdoor courtyard area was absolutely perfect for everyone to gather and hang out. The location is perfection. We had plenty of space and delicious, filling breakfasts. Joanne is so dedicated to her craft as a chef and takes great care in making sure everyone has a hearty breakfast. The coffee is delicious too and is available all morning. The location is just a couple blocks from the beach and a couple blocks the other way from plenty of shops and restaurants. My husband and I stayed in the cottage which was perfect for what we wanted. We got to be with our families all weekend but still got the privacy of our own space. We enjoyed the clean outdoor shower and used the bikes and beach chairs. One of the best parts is the smell of the warm homemade baked goods every afternoon. We set up the tiki bar outside for our rehearsal dinner and then set up the front lobby inside for our happy hour the day of the wedding, per Joanne, Mark and Christina's encouragement. It was clear they truly wanted us to have the best weekend. We will look forward to coming back and celebrating many anniversaries to come at the IGH. It really is a place to make memories in LBI. You could eat off the floor if you wanted to. It's an old motel so it's not very roomy and the bathroom is very tiny and the rooms are small. But you don't need much if you're going to spend the day at the beach. Beds are super comfortable as are the pillows. Autumn the owner is so nice. We will definitely go back again. If you are elderly or have knee problems ask for a room on the bottom floor as the stairs can get tough going up and down. There are no amenities such as microwave or ice machine. But there are plenty places around to get some breakfast and coffee and eat outside or bring back to your room. It is very quiet at night.

Very clean. I travel a lot and normally never walk barefoot. I had no problem at the Magnolia house. Well done! The outside of the house was lacking detail. For example, the chairs were broken and the wicker chairs are falling apart so it wasn't very welcoming to sit down. The inside of main house was lovely and Victorian feel throughout. The outside, however, was missing the detail again. The grounds were overgrown and also needed sweeping. They have a pool table outside that looks terrible. They had one bike with a broken chain. Again this is not a show stopper but it just gives you insight as to how the care or lack of care to the outside. The service was good. Very friendly and inviting. The food was ok. I wouldn't call it gourmet style and I was a little disappointed to have sausage 2 days in a row. I was expecting something different. My big complaint is no Wifi. We were totally expecting and planned to stream music and relax on our porch. The day we checked in we were told Tony went to buy new router. The next morning I confirmed I was accessing the correct access point but I was being prompted for a password. I asked the waitress if she knew the password. She said she needed to ask Tony. I felt bad because i didn't want to make a big deal. Tony came out and advised there is no password but then I showed him that I was, in fact, being promoted for a password. He seemed a annoyed and said well I can't help you right now and now is not the time. Now I felt really bad. I certainly understood but i wasn't asking him to troubleshoot right then, I just needed him to know that his new router was in fact prompting users for a password. There was never any follow up to resolve the issue. Tony only complained about spending 4 hours trying to fix it the day before. So we were out of luck to stream music or videos. Lucky for me I didn't need it for work. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and would recommend it to others. You really won't find a more friendlier team on the island who make you feel at home. They seemed to have a lot of availability in the high season where other B&Bs had no vacancies. The location is perfect. Very close to all the restaurants and about 2 and half blocks from the beach.
