We felt the effects of the door slam each and every time it was used. It was horrible ! As for the lower level garden area bar it is a very nice area. Bar service was hit and miss . We ordered food while sitting at the garden area bar, my order was messed up . Also, the server who brought our food out asked if we needed anything else . We told him and we never seen him again. The bartender told us that that person won't be back . He went himself and brought back what we needed . I opted not to send my food back. We went up to the rooftop bar a few days later . The drinks were horrible. We ordered appetizers and entrees. I only ordered an entree . The appetizers came out about 15 minutes later and the main dishes took over an hour. The manager greeted us before we ordered our food . As we waited a few servers & the manager swung by and asked if everything was okay. I told the manager that our food was taking extremely long . Didn't matter to him I guess . Finally our food arrived and the person asked do we need anything else . I requested some mayo, he said okay. He ran down the stairs as if he was headed to get it . He didn't . The next time I saw him, he had another table's food in hand. He whizzed by me and I asked if he had the mayo. I had already finished my food but it didn't matter . He totally ignored me ! I do recommend this hotel but I would recommend that you go elsewhere for a meal.

I stayed in a single queen room and the bathroom area was as spacious as the room! Really cute decor, lots of amenities. They provide towels, chairs and even umbrellas for your beach visit, which is walking distance (about 2 blocks). I had four 16 year old boys traveling with me and they stayed in a double queen room. They really loved the grab-and-go breakfast and coffee bar. And the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon! We stayed only one night but I would certainly return for an extended stay. Great hotel in a great location!

Look at the beautiful view we have from our room, as well as the "beautiful" room. No door on the closet or hangers in there either. TV wires hanging down the wall. The door looks as though it was painted with an old paint roller and they ran out of paint. We had to walk across the street to the reception area because the in-room refrigerator was leaking all over the floor. We had to walk over because there was no house phone in the room and they didn't answer when we called the desk from our cell phone The place looks ok from the outside but for almost $500, I feel I've been ripped off - an expensive bad experience. Is it clean - yes - but check out some of the other reviews. Prior to booking we saw the other bad Yelp reviews but came here because a block of rooms were reserved for a party and transportation was being provided from here to there. Looks like I should have picked someplace else and driven or taken Uber to the party. Update: we spoke to someone at the party who also is staying here. I showed them my review and they totally agreed with what I wrote. Save your money- try somewhere else.

WHAT an incredible and moving idea. The cold brew was PERFECT and I was even able to take away some dog treats that my doggers will enjoy. It was so nice to be able to meet some of the employees, support a great cause and enjoy some delicious coffee. Kudos to Sea Shell for hosting this cafe for the 2025 season!

Writing this review to warn people booking off season stays! I've stayed here many times in July…read moreand August and had a great time. Recently just stayed the second weekend of May for Mother's Day weekend and was very disappointed. I inquired prior to booking to ask if the pool would be open and they said yes so I booked rooms for me, my sisters and their kids. I figured May is hit or miss, but at least if the weather isn't great we could just hang out in the heated pool. Unfortunately they do not disclose prior to booking, or when I inquired about the pool, that the pool and pool deck is blocked off and you can only go in a small area on the shallow end if they are having a wedding. Well ends up, they had weddings both Friday and Saturday. I think in the off season months May, June, September, October this is very common here. Pretty much the entire premises was blocked off both days for weddings. We tried to go down to the tiki bar Friday evening around 7/8pm (which was the only place on the premises open for guests not going to the wedding) and it was closed already so there was really nothing on the premises for us to do. The rooms are too small to really hang out in (no couch or table). We did go to the tiki bar earlier in the day and the guys working there were nice, food and drinks were good. The palms trees were not installed yet, didn't know they wouldn't be there.. I had told my nieces and nephews about the palm trees because I always thought it adds something special to the ambiance. I called a couple days prior to our stay to request if our rooms could be next to each other. They said they could not put us next to each other, which was not a big deal, but then unfortunately we could hear everything through the walls of the rooms next to us. Saturday night we were surrounded on both sides by people staying for the weddings and although they just were talking in their rooms when they came up around 11pm, the walls are so thin that we could pretty much make out their entire conversation, which went on until after 1am. All in all it was a disappointing weekend.

Three and a half stars. Not amazing and not terrible…read more We were recently here in the off season for a wedding. Unfortunately this meant that the heated pool, the restaurant and the bar were all closed. Hotel prices should be much cheaper because of this reason, but they aren't. Thankfully, there is a restaurant called Dockside within walking distance on the main boulevard. Rooms are pretty small. Ours had 2 double beds and the area to walk around them is tight. Bathroom area to access the toilet is also tight. You have to enter and squeeze behind the door to close it to access the toilet and we are not large people. The shower stall was nice and big and very clean. It comes with shampoo/conditioner/bath gel in dispensers attached to the shower wall. Blow dryer in the bathroom sink cabinet. There is also an ironing board and iron in the closet. The room looked to be nicely renovated with a coastal and light/bright vibe to it. Everything was clean which is important. The air conditioner was a bit noisy at moments with some rattling but it did the job and didn't keep us awake. There is a mini fridge and a large tv on the wall. The best part is probably the proximity to the beach with easy access.

I decided to stay here in the off season for 5 nights. I usually stay in the summer, and have a…read moregood time, so I figured I'd try it out in the fall when the area was calmer and quieter. The site said "The seasonal pool will be open from April to November." This was a big plus to me as, unlike Engleside, Hydrangea House, and many other accommodations in Beach Haven where I've also stayed, this hotel's not too near any of the towns hot spots. It equaled out to about $577 per night for my 5-night stay. Upon arrival I was very disappointed to see that the bar/restaurant was closed for the season. I then approached the check-in desk and the person at the counter told me "We closed the pool this week." I asked, "What about the hot tub?" She replied, "That's closed too." I then asked why the rates are pretty much the same as the summer rates even though much of the hotel's facilities were not in operation, but was told those are just the rates. There were some very loud weddings / private parties in the bar/restaurant, the one that was closed and unavailable to paying hotel guests. At night, in my room, the jazz-type music was at an incredibly high volume and unpleasant to listen to. Around noon one day there was loud pounding on my door, too immediately followed by, what sounded like, someone using an access key for my door lock. I opened the door and the guy just looked at me rather than identifying himself and what he wanted. I'm like, "What?" He then looks over my shoulder gazing around the room and before saying something akin to, "With the stormy weather, we're checking on the guests and the rooms." I thought the whole incident was weird, and that the gentleman should have knocked gentler, gave me an opportunity to get to the door from my bed, and should have also immediately identified himself as hotel personnel, rather than leave me feeling like I might be dealing with Norman Bates. I later asked at the desk to see if he was legit and the lady replied, "Oh, that's my fault."? On the upside, the hotel is clean and the people working there are nice, but they should update their website rather than letting people believe that the pool/hot tub and bar/restaurant are open, and they should also adjust their pricing accordingly when these amenities are not going to be available. It seemed a bait-and-switch, the site's obvious (and, as of today, the site's still continued) misrepresentation of reality. It is way over-priced for just a bed, a view of the ocean, and a night's sleep. This is the first time I've been VERY disappointed in this place, and I've been there several times.
