This hotel has a beautiful location right on the beach. The view from the Oceanfront rooms is outstanding. The rooms themselves are clean, and include all of the expected amenities. A small fridge, a coffee maker and a microwave. It is roomy and has some really great pillows for a truly comfortable nights sleep. The only amenities on this property is the beach. They need to add a pool in the back area and a tiki bar would be great but I know that will never happen because LBI is a family town and it would not fly in this town. I was there to meet some family that rented a house and we truly enjoyed our time there. So when you're looking for a great place to stay in LBI look to this Hotel.

This hotel is really a motel and it's horrible. I made the mistake of not reading the reviews. The only positive is the location. The carpet was dirty stained and had a hole in it. No closet or hooks for your belongings. The shower curtain had mold on it. The sliding door lock was non existent. They had a piece of wood to put in it to keep it from opening. I really wanted to just leave but we visiting family and had no other options. They don't clean the rooms daily. We tipped the cleaning lady to have the bed made and to get clean towels. We would have tipped anyway but to the get an expected service is ridiculous. We brought the issues up at the front desk. They could have cared less.

I'm not sure how exactly to review this place but bc it's directly in the beach it should get at least 3 stars. I'm giving more bc if the location, bc of the amazing service from the girl Alex at the desk during the night shift who is an absolute delight, is sweet, and pleasure to be around. Also 4 stars bc they have staff that will bring chairs and an umbrella to the beach, set them up and then collect them for you which is amazing. However the place is just so poorly maintained that I can see giving far less stars. Hotel LBI which is far nicer and not on the beach charges 750. per night and offers van service to the beach but a nicer room isn't worth another 250 and the drama of a van.

Staff stole my clothes & wont return to me!!!

Update, Drifting Sands "found" my clothing after my rant on social media. My brother went to pick them up for me and they refused to give them to him!!!! Then I called and asked them to send to me, they refused. They have the clothes, they have my address, they least they could do is mail to me. This happened in September. Why!!!!! I think they should refund me the price of the room. I live in Virginia, it's not next door! They don't deserve one star, they deserve a negative star!!!

To start, you have to call for availability and to book a room. You will likely talk to Joe, one of the owners, who always seems to run the front desk. Joe is a TOTAL sweetheart. He made the booking process easy and simple and wished us safe travels on our way to the Motel. We were also going to be arriving a bit late and Joe kept the front desk open so we could pick up our keys! The rooms are so cute and have almost everything you need for a weekend away. We had a fridge, microwave, tv, and Keurig in our room. The only think that seemed to be missing was a hairdryer so be sure to bring your own when you come! One of the best things about the Motel was that Joe gave us a ton of suggestions for restaurants and things to do on the coast. The Islander Motel also provides beach tags for guests so you don't have to buy a daily one at the beach. Our stay at the Islander Motel was awesome! We will definitely be coming back to visit again sometime soon. Thank you Joe!!

Joe was the best tenant you could ask for and we were amazed by the customer service. The room was extraordinary and very clean. We had room 1A and had a large bathroom with a beautiful tub and sink. Each room had hangers, a tv with Apple TV, a k-cup coffee machine, and two full beds that fit me my husband and son. Each room had rocking chairs outside and we were able to sit and watch the sunset from the room. Everything was in walking distance and i would say we will be coming back. Thank you for the amazing experience joe.

We felt the effects of the door slam each and every time it was used. It was horrible ! As for the lower level garden area bar it is a very nice area. Bar service was hit and miss . We ordered food while sitting at the garden area bar, my order was messed up . Also, the server who brought our food out asked if we needed anything else . We told him and we never seen him again. The bartender told us that that person won't be back . He went himself and brought back what we needed . I opted not to send my food back. We went up to the rooftop bar a few days later . The drinks were horrible. We ordered appetizers and entrees. I only ordered an entree . The appetizers came out about 15 minutes later and the main dishes took over an hour. The manager greeted us before we ordered our food . As we waited a few servers & the manager swung by and asked if everything was okay. I told the manager that our food was taking extremely long . Didn't matter to him I guess . Finally our food arrived and the person asked do we need anything else . I requested some mayo, he said okay. He ran down the stairs as if he was headed to get it . He didn't . The next time I saw him, he had another table's food in hand. He whizzed by me and I asked if he had the mayo. I had already finished my food but it didn't matter . He totally ignored me ! I do recommend this hotel but I would recommend that you go elsewhere for a meal.

They really loved the grab-and-go breakfast and coffee bar. And the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon! We stayed only one night but I would certainly return for an extended stay. Great hotel in a great location!

Writing this review to warn people booking off season stays! I've stayed here many times in July…read moreand August and had a great time. Recently just stayed the second weekend of May for Mother's Day weekend and was very disappointed. I inquired prior to booking to ask if the pool would be open and they said yes so I booked rooms for me, my sisters and their kids. I figured May is hit or miss, but at least if the weather isn't great we could just hang out in the heated pool. Unfortunately they do not disclose prior to booking, or when I inquired about the pool, that the pool and pool deck is blocked off and you can only go in a small area on the shallow end if they are having a wedding. Well ends up, they had weddings both Friday and Saturday. I think in the off season months May, June, September, October this is very common here. Pretty much the entire premises was blocked off both days for weddings. We tried to go down to the tiki bar Friday evening around 7/8pm (which was the only place on the premises open for guests not going to the wedding) and it was closed already so there was really nothing on the premises for us to do. The rooms are too small to really hang out in (no couch or table). We did go to the tiki bar earlier in the day and the guys working there were nice, food and drinks were good. The palms trees were not installed yet, didn't know they wouldn't be there.. I had told my nieces and nephews about the palm trees because I always thought it adds something special to the ambiance. I called a couple days prior to our stay to request if our rooms could be next to each other. They said they could not put us next to each other, which was not a big deal, but then unfortunately we could hear everything through the walls of the rooms next to us. Saturday night we were surrounded on both sides by people staying for the weddings and although they just were talking in their rooms when they came up around 11pm, the walls are so thin that we could pretty much make out their entire conversation, which went on until after 1am. All in all it was a disappointing weekend.

Three and a half stars. Not amazing and not terrible…read more We were recently here in the off season for a wedding. Unfortunately this meant that the heated pool, the restaurant and the bar were all closed. Hotel prices should be much cheaper because of this reason, but they aren't. Thankfully, there is a restaurant called Dockside within walking distance on the main boulevard. Rooms are pretty small. Ours had 2 double beds and the area to walk around them is tight. Bathroom area to access the toilet is also tight. You have to enter and squeeze behind the door to close it to access the toilet and we are not large people. The shower stall was nice and big and very clean. It comes with shampoo/conditioner/bath gel in dispensers attached to the shower wall. Blow dryer in the bathroom sink cabinet. There is also an ironing board and iron in the closet. The room looked to be nicely renovated with a coastal and light/bright vibe to it. Everything was clean which is important. The air conditioner was a bit noisy at moments with some rattling but it did the job and didn't keep us awake. There is a mini fridge and a large tv on the wall. The best part is probably the proximity to the beach with easy access.

The site said "The seasonal pool will be open from April to November." This was a big plus to me as, unlike Engleside, Hydrangea House, and many other accommodations in Beach Haven where I've also stayed, this hotel's not too near any of the towns hot spots. It equaled out to about $577 per night for my 5-night stay. Upon arrival I was very disappointed to see that the bar/restaurant was closed for the season. I then approached the check-in desk and the person at the counter told me "We closed the pool this week." I asked, "What about the hot tub?" She replied, "That's closed too." I then asked why the rates are pretty much the same as the summer rates even though much of the hotel's facilities were not in operation, but was told those are just the rates. There were some very loud weddings / private parties in the bar/restaurant, the one that was closed and unavailable to paying hotel guests. At night, in my room, the jazz-type music was at an incredibly high volume and unpleasant to listen to. Around noon one day there was loud pounding on my door, too immediately followed by, what sounded like, someone using an access key for my door lock. I opened the door and the guy just looked at me rather than identifying himself and what he wanted. I'm like, "What?" He then looks over my shoulder gazing around the room and before saying something akin to, "With the stormy weather, we're checking on the guests and the rooms." I thought the whole incident was weird, and that the gentleman should have knocked gentler, gave me an opportunity to get to the door from my bed, and should have also immediately identified himself as hotel personnel, rather than leave me feeling like I might be dealing with Norman Bates. I later asked at the desk to see if he was legit and the lady replied, "Oh, that's my fault."? On the upside, the hotel is clean and the people working there are nice, but they should update their website rather than letting people believe that the pool/hot tub and bar/restaurant are open, and they should also adjust their pricing accordingly when these amenities are not going to be available. It seemed a bait-and-switch, the site's obvious (and, as of today, the site's still continued) misrepresentation of reality. It is way over-priced for just a bed, a view of the ocean, and a night's sleep. This is the first time I've been VERY disappointed in this place, and I've been there several times.
