Three and a half stars. Not amazing and not terrible. We were recently here in the off season for a wedding. Unfortunately this meant that the heated pool, the restaurant and the bar were all closed. Hotel prices should be much cheaper because of this reason, but they aren't. Thankfully, there is a restaurant called Dockside within walking distance on the main boulevard. Rooms are pretty small. Ours had 2 double beds and the area to walk around them is tight. Bathroom area to access the toilet is also tight. You have to enter and squeeze behind the door to close it to access the toilet and we are not large people. The shower stall was nice and big and very clean. It comes with shampoo/conditioner/bath gel in dispensers attached to the shower wall. Blow dryer in the bathroom sink cabinet. There is also an ironing board and iron in the closet. The room looked to be nicely renovated with a coastal and light/bright vibe to it. Everything was clean which is important. The air conditioner was a bit noisy at moments with some rattling but it did the job and didn't keep us awake. There is a mini fridge and a large tv on the wall. The best part is probably the proximity to the beach with easy access. read more

I decided to stay here in the off season for 5 nights. I usually stay in the summer, and have a good time, so I figured I'd try it out in the fall when the area was calmer and quieter. The site said "The seasonal pool will be open from April to November." This was a big plus to me as, unlike Engleside, Hydrangea House, and many other accommodations in Beach Haven where I've also stayed, this hotel's not too near any of the towns hot spots. It equaled out to about $577 per night for my 5-night stay. Upon arrival I was very disappointed to see that the bar/restaurant was closed for the season. I then approached the check-in desk and the person at the counter told me "We closed the pool this week." I asked, "What about the hot tub?" She replied, "That's closed too." I then asked why the rates are pretty much the same as the summer rates even though much of the hotel's facilities were not in operation, but was told those are just the rates. There were some very loud weddings / private parties in the bar/restaurant, the one that was closed and unavailable to paying hotel guests. At night, in my room, the jazz-type music was at an incredibly high volume and unpleasant to listen to. Around noon one day there was loud pounding on my door, too immediately followed by, what sounded like, someone using an access key for my door lock. I opened the door and the guy just looked at me rather than identifying himself and what he wanted. I'm like, "What?" He then looks over my shoulder gazing around the room and before saying something akin to, "With the stormy weather, we're checking on the guests and the rooms." I thought the whole incident was weird, and that the gentleman should have knocked gentler, gave me an opportunity to get to the door from my bed, and should have also immediately identified himself as hotel personnel, rather than leave me feeling like I might be dealing with Norman Bates. I later asked at the desk to see if he was legit and the lady replied, "Oh, that's my fault."? On the upside, the hotel is clean and the people working there are nice, but they should update their website rather than letting people believe that the pool/hot tub and bar/restaurant are open, and they should also adjust their pricing accordingly when these amenities are not going to be available. It seemed a bait-and-switch, the site's obvious (and, as of today, the site's still continued) misrepresentation of reality. It is way over-priced for just a bed, a view of the ocean, and a night's sleep. This is the first time I've been VERY disappointed in this place, and I've been there several times. read more

We checked in to the hotel for a quick overnight getaway to the beach. We were not informed that the property was hosting a wedding either when we made the reservation or when we checked in. By 3:30 pm a PA system was already on and testing. Events at the Spray Beach take place outside under a tent attached to the hotel. By 6:30 it was very loud. The electronic dance music continued until 9:59. The balcony for our room was directly over the tent. At 9:30 we called the desk to complain, and Greg said there are always events this time of year and the music would stop at 9:59. He refused to give us a different room and said if we left, we would still be charged. My brain is still pulsating. The hotel refused to issue any refund. I would not recommend this place unless your idea of time at the beach is a big fat headache. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Absolutely disgusting hotel. The room had hair all over the floor, the sink counter, the shower, the toilet, and even the shower floor. I have pictures to prove it. My bed sheets were not clean because there were black and orange crumbs in the bed that looked like Cheez-It crumbs. I had to ask for new sheets. I am so grossed out. All they did was "change the sheets" and take out the garbage. The room was filthy and unacceptable. On top of that, the old woman at the front desk is extremely nasty. Must be nice to sit there all day, do nothing, and still get paid. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! read more

I wrote a review a few days ago and it was deleted and ignored ! Therefore I will write it again so no one bothers going to this place and getting the same treatment my family did . My family and I have been coming to spray beach for years, we came this morning for breakfast and it was terrible . The wait time was 40 minutes and there was all open tables. The hostess told us she would text us, we were waiting for about 30mins, with children and get up to ask the hostess if the table would be ready soon and she says "You didn't get the text, oh my bad, your table has been ready." Ridiculous and unprofessional to say MY BAD! Also the food was inedible , smelly and gross , and they charged us wrong on the check and were unable to fix it due to the wifi being down . I don't know when this place changed so much but it is not what it once was nor would I recommend it to anyone . Do yourself a favor and don't bother coming here , not to mention all the amazing staff they had working here for years that made this environment are no longer here . Save your money and go elsewhere . I wish there was a zero star review because it doesn't even deserve one . Oh and when they tried to compensate us with drinks cause we requested it since we could be refunded the glasses and drinks were spilled all over me . We then walked out . I am extremely disappointed with Spray Beach Waterfront Hotel. I rescheduled my trip to a new date before the deadline given, yet the hotel still charged me for the first trip. I've contacted customer service five times, and each time they told me it would take 7-10 business days to process the refund. It's now been 16 business days, and I still haven't received my refund. To make matters worse, nobody seems to have a clear answer. Apparently, the accounting department is a separate entity that neither I nor the customer service representatives can contact directly. This sounds like a complete lack of accountability and transparency. If you are planning to stay at this hotel, be absolutely sure of your dates because if you need to cancel or reschedule, this company does not honor its own 7-10 business day refund policy. Save yourself the hassle and choose another place that values its customers and follows through on its promises. read more

I was a little nervous reading the reviews before arriving, but I thought the hotel was great. I did go off-season, so not sure if the slowness of the town positively impacted us. Overall good stay, there was a diner in walking distance that had great food and although it wasn't typical beach weather, the beach access was super close. I'd stay here again! read more

THE MOLD MOTEL. I generally never leave reviews for places. This place right here is NOT a hotel in my own words. I dont know the difference in definition between hotel and motel, but this place is everything you could have dreamed for if you wanted to stay at "THE MOLD MOTEL". We stayed across the street from the building with the pool and the bar, but still had all the "amenities". As soon as you walk into the room, your senses get a strong odor of mold. There is mold under the carpets, mold on the ceilings and walls in the bathroom, hell, there is even mold BEHIND the mirror that you can see THROUGH the mirror. The PTAC ac units in the wall don't really cool the room. I pulled out the dust filters and they were CLOGGED. My master bedroom is actually bigger than this room where my wife, son, and I crammed into. NO EXTRA ROOM TO WALK AROUND THE ROOM!!!!! The bathroom has no exhaust fan and has wallpaper, a HUGE no no for a bathroom where mold freely breeds. The light bulbs were also out. The pool, two days in a row, was not vacuumed clean. There was and in the exact same location as the day before, just more!!! The only thing they do is severely over chlorinate the water to the point my son's eyes puffed up like an allergic reaction. There is absolutely no way that they balance the water quality, I know, because I have a pool, and balance my own water, and that is NOT balanced. The pool was like 95 degrees, almost too hot on a hot day. The beach does NOT have a life guard. At the restaurant for breakfast they made my sunny side up eggs halfway cooked, the egg whites were still very runny. Their corn beef hash is from a can and they didn't even bother hot frying the mush out of it to try and cheat it. In fact, the ONLY good thing that they actually did was give us clean towels twice a day. This place is not a hotel and I would like to point out the other reviews about bed bugs. Poor kid, one of the kids at the pool had bed bug bites all over him, though I'm not sure if it actually came from this place. Poor little boy, he was only about 8-9 years old. read more

Q: What is worse that bed bugs? A: A business that does not care. Let me start off by saying I have had previously worked in the food and beverage, and hospitably, industry for ten years. While I have a high bar for quality and attention to detail, I never leave negative reviews. Mostly because I hate how bad news travels quicker than good news. I stayed at the Spray Beach Hotel from Thursday 6/3/2021 to Saturday 6/5/2021. My girlfriend and I experienced a large number of bites that were bed bugs. I went through this 10 years ago, so I know they were bed bug bites. We contacted the hotel to let them know. The front desk took down my name and number and said, "We will have a manager reach out". After two days, I called the hotel and explained the situation again. Same result: took down my name and number, said, "We will have a manager reach out. I don't want you to think no one is calling you back". Well, it has now been over one month, and guess what: no-one-is-calling-me-back! We had to wash everything and deal with extremely itchy bites all over our body for days and days. Awful experience. A call back would have been just fine. If this business isn't going to care about a customer who went through this, then you might as well assume they don't care about anything. We visited June 30th to July 3rd. I'm honestly writing this review on how amazing the two outside beach bar bartenders were. I believe one of their names were carly? and the other i cannot remember but * she was just as astounding and so in control * but they were personable and just relatable, made us drink there way more than what we had intended on because of the older one- i forget her name but freckles and just great aura. The third night we had gray or grey? She was amazing as well and went out of her way to make us happy. We believe that it is so much harder in this industry to get a good review rather than a bad one so we made sure to write this because it is deserved. Went for 3 days in August. Service was great..Front desk, restaurant, and bar..Everyone was very helpful & pleasant. Our Room on 2nd floor was very nice, seemed like it was re-done fairly recent. There is a fridge, microwave & coffee machine. We had breakfast and lunch at restaurant, food was very good. Nice size bar, beach is right there. Each 4th of July, our group of 16 adults and teens celebrate in LBI. We used to stay at the Buccaneer but it has closed :(. It was old but on the bay, big deck, bbq, clean pool- the list goes on. We figured since Spray beach was redone we would try it. Our room was teeny, the efficiency literally consists of a portable cooktop with a sink and cabinets. The housekeeper came once in 5 days. For $630 a night, I expect daily maid service not to dump my own garbage. The room was nice but the I'll equipped. The pool is hot and dirty, and this place is way overpriced. It's the Jersey shore! I could stay at the Ritz for that price. One plus is that they have beach chairs for guest use. Next year we will consider other options. read more

BLOOD SPLATTERS ON BED SHEET AND WALLS. My boyfriend and I stayed for the weekend. Our first night, we got in very late and all we wanted to do was go sleep. I immediately noticed what appeared to be blood splatters on the walls by the light switches and by our bathroom door. I had pointed this out to my boyfriend and he assumed it to be pasta sauce. Thank God I packed my sanitizing spray and sprayed nearly every surface of the room. After, we shrugged it off and went to bed. The next night, we went to adjust the pillows before we slept and found a blood splatter on our bed sheets under the pillows. We could not get out of there fast enough. We had checked out immediately, but not before we were asked to change the sheets ourselves and offered a room that was "suddenly available". We had spoke to the MANAGER Jeff and he admitted to us that it was not properly cleaned and that he himself sleeps on blood splattered sheets because detergent sometimes doesn't get the stains. I am a woman and informed him that that has happened to me and my sheets come out in a clean wash and I'm sure any woman can agree with my statement as well. He refused to refund us the first night but refunded us the second so I told him I would just go ahead and write this review then. Just a heads up for anyone wanting to stay here. read more

Disgusting hotel, do not stay here! I stayed at the hotel on 6/26-6/27. I was supposed to checkout on 6/28 but we had to check out early due to the unsanitary condition in our unit. For starters, the unit had a moldy/mildew smell. We had a problem with our air conditioning emitting an extremely high screeching noise every few minutes. I contacted the front desk at 7 pm to notify them that the air conditioning unit was not functioning properly and making a very loud screeching noise. I was told that a maintenance worker would be at my unit in 30 minutes. 2 1/2 hours later a maintenance worker showed up. In the interim, I had also notified the front desk to let them know we had a significant ant infestation in the bathroom. The maintenance worker showed up at a time when my family was sleeping and could not do the repairs needed. He also intended on spraying the toxic chemical ROUND UP in the bathroom to treat the ants. Round Up cannot be used indoors and is meant for treating weeds, it also happens to be toxic. I shudder at the thought that he may have sprayed it earlier if we were not in the unit. I was very upset that he thought that was a solution to the problem. Due to the issues with the AC unit, we were forced to sleep through the night without air conditioning which is obviously extremely uncomfortable. To make matters worse, my 3 and 5 year old complained that there were itchy in the middle of the night and we turned on the light to now see that there were ants in the bed and on their body. I would not expect for these instances to happen in a lower cost hotel let alone a hotel that costs over $300 a night. I complained to the front desk person and was assured a manager would contact me which never happened. read more

A little overpriced but it being a last minute reservation on a Friday ahead of a hot, sunny weekend I was willing to pay almost anything. Our beach-view room was clean and cool. Beds were comfy with nice quality bedding. Front desk staff was super friendly, cheerful and happy to give directions and make restaurant recommendations. The Tiki bar bartender was a little gruff when we arrived ten minutes before last call* but then bent over backward to get our steak (massive, tender, and perfectly cooked) and crab cake order in before closing and insisted that we relax, take our time eating and drinking (we smartly ordered 2 bottles of wine) and ignore their cleaning up and shutting down for the night. Nothing fancy or luxury about the Spray Beach Inn but their 80's design, old-school, hotel on the beach vibe - including an 70's/80's sound track (ABBA, old Springstein, Eagles) was a nice nostalgic anecdote to a post-Covid year. They let us keep our beach badges well beyond checkout as well as our car in the lot. The kitchen, super fast, cooked up THE best sausage, egg n cheese on an English muffin I have ever tasted, to go - took with us on the beach. * Last call on a Friday is 9pm - which is kind of a bummer but if you're staying beachside overlooking the bar/restaurant you then appreciate that there's no loud, drunken, shenanigans going on outside your door in the late evening - allowing one to appreciate the full moon view and sound of the waves just beyond the dunes. We stay at the Spray Beach Inn for a weekend almost every summer. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. The bar and outdoor dining are a bonus. This year we have a short weekend in a small ocean front room planned, but when our vacation out of state was cancelled because of COVID, we added three nights for a total of five, in a larger poolside efficiency. The day before we were supposed to check-in our plans were delayed because of power outages at home. I called the hotel, they were kind, understanding, and changed our reservation without pause. When we finally made it there, the room was clean, the staff was friendly, and outdoor dining was better than I remember. Thank you for a safe, and relaxing mini vacation. read more

I would have given it a 1 however, the location can't beat. When booking online, the 1st floor photo would have suggested that you got a view of the beach. When we arrived, this wasn't the case. Luckily, they had availability on the 2nd floor for a very steep price increase. When discussing this with other guests, none were paying as high a rate for the same room on the same floor. When this was brought to desk clerks attention, we received even more price variations. The downside to the 2nd floor was that the elevator was broken during our entire 5 day stay. While there is a restaurant and bar onsite, when we checked in there was no mention that it would be closed for 2 of our 4 nights. There was no maid service during the entire stay. The $28 lobster roll had 2 small pieces of lobster and the rest was imitation. 2 people can't walk in a king room at the same time due to how small it is. After arriving home, we looked at our bill and saw that we were charged a higher rate than what was quoted after checking into the new room. We called the hotel and we're again given different price quotes. Again, great view but zero sense of customer service and dubious business practices. STAY AWAY!!!! read more

The updated rooms are great! Yes the bathrooms are small and the rooms are a bit cramped. But you are there to go to beach not hang in the room. Not crazy about not having the rooms tidied up or the garbage being taking out. Requesting more towels is great, but the fact that they leave them on the table outside the room is not good, people take them. The front desk staff can be a little nicer, when we checked out, I wasn't even asked how was your stay. Also it wasn't even 11am (checkout) and the staff was already in our room, we had gone to the beach for a bit and wanted to shower before we left. But I'll be back! read more

This was the first year I stayed here. Not impressive at all. Check in time was 3 pm and my room wasn't ready until 4 pm. There was no soap or shampoo in my room and had to call the front desk to get some. There was no binder in the room with all the local restaurants in the area, I had to borrow my neighbors. I will say that the room was clean. The beach bar was nice. For the price though it was not worth it. I won't stay here again. read more

Terrible dining experience here. The restaurant service is TERRIBLE. The wait staff clearly does not enjoy their job and they all talk and socialize instead of paying attention to their tables. I called the restaurant ahead of time and asked about early bird specials and was told there was one between specific times. When we went during the time we were told, we were seated and then told that there are no early bird specials on Saturday. I thought it was unlikely to have an early bird special on a weekend, but since I called and asked and was told yes, I made plans to eat here. Apparently those working here ARE NOT KNOWLEDGEABLE. Stayed at the hotel while visiting with family - we were really looking forward to some time on the beach in Oct - love the beach in the Fall. The furnishings were a little tired, but we kind of expect that at a beach motel. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. There a great little walkway to a beautiful beach. The pool was open and heated on a chilly Oct. day - we didn't go in, but there grown ups in there enjoying it. Sorry to report that a few things soured us on the stay: 1) Beach front room - we paid extra for a beach front room, even though we knew the dunes would be obstructing our view. What we did not know was that there was a parking lot and smoking lounge in between our room and dunes. Every 20 mins or so, until late at night, a large loud party would step out of the bar to smoke in front of our room. It was smelly and we got very little sleep. Not a beach front experience at all. 2) Extra person in the room - I know it's pretty typical to pay a surcharge for a 3rd person (traveled with our 20 YO) in the room, but why is this? The room was tiny with 2 double beds and we had to pay extra to be cramped in there? I just don't get it. 3) a petty complaint - toiletries were not refreshed for night two and there was one bar of soap to share between the sink area and shower. We actually decided to leave early on day two and checked out so we could a good night's sleep. We let the desk know, they were apologetic, but it turned out to be a $330 one night's stay, in a cramped room that smelled of smoke, with no sleep. Wow after multiple years here and thousands of dollars later this last trip was bad. 1100 for two nights in oceanfront room on a weekend. Mattresses are hard which I can overlook.... room wasn't the cleanest I had to bleach tub and sink out. Still had hair and toothpaste on sink faucet. We also bagged our own trash and linens during the stay for a 10$ off refund due to covid. Pool was ridiculously crowded. No masks in pool area and no seating. Plus pool is cloudy and not the cleanest. The parking is horrible NO spots left. Are they really checking cars on who is really staying at motel. Or just going to beach despite all that I was figuring covid probably has everywhere running a bit different, WELL I get home after being away to 100$ charge for "non returned ". Beach badges. I said seriously ? I handed them to the lady at front at 838 am. I am not happy and they refuse to refund me. After numerous calls .....so dissatisfied.....Will def consider LBI hotel next trip. read more

A little pricey for what you get. The rooms were super small but okay for a beach hotel for the area I guess. Oh and not really understanding why there was a sink outside of the bathroom? Needs a better layout. Staff were nice, however I'm kinda confused why this is the one and only hotel I've ever been to without a "do not disturb" sign to hang on the door. I don't like when my room is entered when I'm not there, even if it's to clean.. I don't need my room cleaned when I'm on vacation.. that's my preference. In other hotels, I would put up my do not disturb sign and not worry about who's gonna enter my room. Here, I had to hunt down the cleaning crew every morning to remind them I don't want my room cleaned before I left for the day. That was such a stress for me. However, I'll give it to them that Tom/Mike (not sure who was who) but they respected us and remembered quickly that we only wanted fresh towels daily and no other entry into our room. So, kudos to them. The pool....lol, well... I don't suggest going into the pool. I sat outside for hours at a time and those kids never left the pool to use the bathroom, it didn't really smell like chlorine which made me super hesitant and when I put my foot in... It was so warm, even heated pools aren't this warm! Highly suggest putting in some extra cleaning into the pool.. it was foggy and really made me not want to go in. The bar staff were super nice. They came to take orders from the pool which was convenient for us. Overall, we had a decent stay and had a pretty good time. Check in and Check out were easy, no complaints there. read more

Liar liar pants on fire! This dishonest hotel does not handle their mistakes properly at all, and this was a BIG one. My mother in law traveled by plane to our home, then the next day we drove her and our two children 4 hours to this hotel. I booked two rooms for Our August trip all the way back in February. A Saturday night and Sunday night Leave on Monday. Upon arrival first you should know there are no parking tags for your car. So good luck getting a spot. There is a restaurant on site, so anyone can park in their parking lot. When I went to the front desk the woman said she found only one room under my name. I booked both rooms and paid for them in full on the same day at the same time in February. It wasn't until I showed my reservation confirmation proving my reservation of both rooms for the same dates that Eventually the second receptionist (front desk manager), said she found it but get this....she said someone called 3 days prior to our trip and changed the date for one of the rooms. She said someone changed it so instead of checking in on Saturday, one of the rooms were only available from Sunday -Tuesday!!!Obviously this was a huge mistake on their part. There would be no reason for us to move our date one day for just one room leaving our mother in law roomless for a night. We asked her who called, and she said she didn't know. When she read my email and phone number back to me they were not my email or phone number!!! She then tried to pretend she was on the wrong page lol. Obviously someone with the same last name changed their date and they changed our room instead. Eventually after a lot of back and forth and me showing her the confirmation she admitted it was an error on their part with no apology. She went on to tell us that their hotel was booked. We had ONE room now with two beds for my husband and I, my two sons and my handicapped mother in law.She Went behind a closed door to talk to a manager (which never spoke to us face to face at any point), and came out with a terrible solution. She told us she would send my mother in law to one of their other hotels in SHIP BOTTOM for the night lol. My mother in law has a cane and can hardly walk, but we were suppose to (at 5pm after traveling), drive her all the way to ship bottom, check her in, carry her luggage in, set her up, drive back to our room get set up, then keep driving her back and forth that night as needed. Then we were expected to pick her up in the morning help her walk to the car so we could now go about our day then check her out at 11 pack her stuff back in our car and check back into the spray beach when her room would be ready on the second night. What a horrible solution. I explained that's not going to work. I told the front desk that they can give us a cot, and she will have to sleep on it in our room for the night. Another terrible option but since they gave our room away that night I didn't have much of a choice.I let them know that this is completely unacceptable and I will be expecting compensation for both nights for my mother in laws room. Perfectly understandable? Nope. Can you believe these people tried to just give the money back for the one night? Of course they had to give us the money back for one night, we didn't get a room!! What about for our major hassle and inconvenience? Not one "sorry", not one comp, nothing. My husband spent now more time on the phone on our nightmare vacation talking to hotels dot com where we made the reservation. They put us on hold while they spoke to our hotel, came back on the phone and assured us we would be fully compensated for both nights for the one room. We went about our vacation as usual and tried to make the best of a terrible situation. The day we checked out we asked for receipts for both of our rooms. They printed out a receipt for the one room then said "no charge for the second room".When we got home I check my bank account for the refunds but saw they only refunded one room then added more charges to my card. We asked for a hotel manager numerous times and never got one. The front desk manager refused to let us talk to a hotel manager saying that person wasn't available every time we asked. Eventually after two weeks the very dishonest front desk manager yelled at my husband saying you'll get your refund! Paid $150 for the room that has no view....I'm a little confused because this hotel is right on the beach and it is NOT packed right now. It is the last weekend in May...however since Memorial Day fell on last weekend - this is not a holiday weekend. The room is small... Which would be fine but it has a weird smell and the layout is eh. It has those scratchy bedspreads from the early 80's ... Which is actually kind of endearing when you pay $50 for a room... Not $150. I am hoping they will use my money to update the rooms. Redeeming factor : pool and jacuzzi are nice. Great pool to relax in with the kids and not have to worry... It's very shallow. This is one of the worst "miss" for a beach bar I am seasonal about 4 blocks away - in a house with groups always looking for a beer and a bite to eat . Would love this place to be our "spot " The renovations to the outdoor bar are amazing - the service is horrific! The bartenders are loud , obnoxious and SLOW - not to mention- could we get some beach music playing ? I had a beer a few weeks ago (waited 10 minutes ) with 2 bartenders and empty bar ( outside ) and I had to listen to the song Desperado! My husband and I recently stayed for two nights. The week after Labor Day, by design. We also stayed in June of this year and didn't love the crowds. We love the location, accomadations, food and service. With all the pandemic hardships it's amazing to see familiar, friendly faces. We are both in the resturant business for 40 years. It's a credit to hotel management. That being said, Katie is a pro with talant you can't teach. Ivy we met this latest stay and were really impressed! We watched the tiki bar ebb and flow with regular rushes. People want to be served quickly and compently. Take it from us, who tend to sit and watch, this is almost impossible to expect of servers so young or at all!! read more

I had the burger it was good but the fries tasted like they came from the devil they were so burnt I should have had a fire extinguisher and blew that to the GROUND!! If you go outside you're gonna hate your food more. There is a band that plays there and my ears are still bleeding. This doesn't even deserve a star. The only reason there are 2 stars is because they have a good burger. And I rather look at the eclipse without glasses then looking at the ugly building. read more

2nd time coming to this hotel and this time it was horrible. Horrible experience. Came in for a 3 night stay. Gave us room 401. Walked in and the room stunk of mold and mildew. Room was ground floor, probably not rebuilt properly after Hurricane Sandy. You can see mold on the walls it was so bad. Asked to be put in another room and were told nothing else was available. Housekeeping came with a can of Lysol to "help" the smell. After complaining again at the front desk was quickly given a full refund but while the front desk staff was very polite it was a very upsetting experience overall. Completely disgusted and it was impossible to find another hotel for the weekend in a booked town. Disappointing since we enjoyed our stay here last year. Will not be coming back. read more

I had a very enjoyable lunch today at Spray Beach. The food and service were excellent. Our waitress Amy was so friendly and we had a great time. I was very impressed with the staff. The manager Victor also came to our table to check on us, which was very nice. Have been there many times, and I am sure I will return many more. Outdoor bar review: Okay spot to grab a cold one after a day at the beach, but I wouldn't go out of my way, either. There is a lot of outdoor seating but most of it looked reserved for diners. There's a long bar with high seats facing the beach and a few high seats at the bar area. I say high seats because they weren't quite bar stools but more of a hybrid between a stool and one of those chairs with the flexible plastic straps. The seat part reclined slightly and they were extremely uncomfortable and awkward to sit in, overall. You might not think seating is a big deal, but when you find that it's the only thing you can think or talk about during your visit you might reconsider. Said bar area is a little questionable in cleanliness. Beers are served in cans, which is fine. If I end up there again after a day at the beach, I'll probably just stand. read more

I cannot believe how unprofessional our experience was at this hotel. When we booked the stay, we were assured that the bar would be open until midnight to accommodate our large wedding party. Many excited guests were stopped at the door by a very unfriendly bartender explaining we were unwelcome. We proceeded to make ourselves home on the open back porch, where they refused to even turn the lights on for our group. An extremely disappointing experience overall. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. read more
