The food was amazing, and they made sure to be very accommodating for the food allergies at the table. Typically restaurants will just say here are your options for allergies, however they went above and beyond! They went through each item on the menu and stated how it could be tailored to meet our specific needs. The drinks were also great as who doesn't want an alcoholic beverage at brunch? They had a Bloody Mary bar where you can customize the items you want in your drink. They also had some very delicious mimosas so those are a must. Went to Coppin's with a small group for an evening out. The service was quick and attentive to our table. The area wasn't crowded but wasn't empty either and I always give major kudos to a team that can take care of a group - because that is no easy feat! We split the pimento cheese appetizer - it was delish! A great bite for the table to share and prep your pallets for dinner. We each had different plates for dinner, I personally ordered the burger and fries. It was good but not my favorite burger ever. My plate was taken from me when I had a few bites left, I was ultimately finished but it was never verified. I wasn't going to mention it but a few others at our table said the same thing as we were leaving. A handful of us ordered the desserts. I ordered the S'More Brownie and assumed it was going to be warm. Unfortunately for me it was more of a fudge based treat. Not that it wasn't good - it just wasn't what I was expecting. Coppins (& Hotel Covington) makes me feel like I'm somewhere not in Northern Kentucky. Coppins is understated, luxurious, and charming all at the same time. The simple breakfast menu and coffee bar in the lobby are sometimes exactly what I need during the week (for a nice treat-yo-self) morning. When I need a day of feeling fancy, I'll pack up my laptop, grab some breakfast at coppins, and camp out in the Hotel Covington Lobby, working the day away (REMOTE WORKERS: This spot is the bees knees). Breakfast, from the simple eggs and bacon to the avocado toast, always seems to be exactly what I need to start the day. The goetta here is OUT OF THIS WORLD. It's cooked perfectly without all the grease that you normally find (non-Cincinnatians: Goetta is a meat-and-grain mush cooked into delicious little patties or squares that make fantastic breakfast fare). I'll likely find a reason to come back here this week just so I can order some more of their Goetta. I'm a local and stayed for a "girl's night in". The hotel and staff are the best in the area. Guests really receive the "rolled out carpet " experience at Hotel Covington. There is not a single detail that is not overlooked when you stay here. I love the architecture and decor at Hotel Covington. Its a beautiful building and I love the nostalgia that reminds guests that it was once Coppin's Depatrment store. Hotel Covington will forever be my go to hotel for a stay cation. I had a patty melt which was good but too many onions and the burger was a little dry and not very flavorful. I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Covington. The room was comfortable, I loved the decor, and the food was excellent. My only hang-up is that there was a lack of attention to detail when it came to room service. I specified on my order that there were two people dining, and had ordered two cups of coffee to go along with the food. Despite the nice presentation, I was disappointed to find there was only one set of silverware and only one glass of water, and the coffee itself had been completely forgotten. There was no explanation behind the missing coffee, and I was still charged for it. To most people, this isn't a big deal and easily remedied. We came here again for another Sunday Brunch day with our dogs. We were unable to eat on the patio as we made reservations late and it was such a beautiful day so we were fine with sitting in the lounge area. My husband had the biscuits and gravy again as he said it has been so good the other times so he didn't want to miss out. I had the Roebling Benedict which has goetta and spinach and was really good - definitely a must try! Our pups were brought out dog bowls with water and an empty one for their scrambled eggs. A deck of uno cards is a nice touch. The bathroom was great and shower was fabulous. The bed. Goodness gracious. So freakin comfortable. The linens were amazing, good pillows. The bar downstairs was good too! Coffee bar in the morning was really great and helped me decide what I wanted since I don't drink coffee. Coppin's just a great place all around! Had dinner at Coppin's for a family "girls night". For starters the Hotel has been so beautifully restored! They have kept the character of the original building, but modernized in a fun and eclectic way. The restaurant sits under a glass-greenhouse room, which also opens to a beautiful patio area. They have an extensive drink menu including, wine and beer drafts, a large bottle/glass wine selection, and also an assortment of cocktails. Their menu consist of "Snacks" that are smaller plates, "Sharables" which are more like an appetizer dish, "Soups and Salads", and "Large Plates" for your entree options. We started with the Deviled Eggs and Corn Fritters - both of with were delicious! I loved the Pimento Cheese blend on the Deviled Eggs. For dinner each of us shared a combination between the Short Rib and Cheeseburger dishes. Both were fantastic! I loved the flavors on the burger, which had me craving more! The short rib just felt apart when you cut in it and was packed with flavor. When we were leaving there was a live band playing music in the lobby area of the hotel, but in front of the Coppin's bar. It was a perfect place to hang out with friends and sip on drinks. We are already planning our next visit back! read more

Pretty standard menu with more upscale comfort options. I ordered the cornbread and short rib risotto and was loved the slight saffrony taste of the risotto. The ambiance of this establishment was the best experience, by far. I truly enjoyed the wine "on tap". The sever explained it as similar to a beer keg. My partner thinks the following phrase should be on a sign outside this place to draw people in and I agree: "we have brownies that taste like bacon" and they are amazing. I haven't been this impressed with a restaurant since I lived in Chicago. First, the atmosphere is far superior to anything you'll find in OTR. If you've ever been to Sable in Chicago it reminds me a lot of that but bigger. There is a huge courtyard with seating as well as plenty of indoor seating in the dining room and lounge. The building has a lot of history which was interesting to learn from our incredibly friendly and helpful server. The food was simply delicious. Everything came out perfectly cooked, seasoned, and presented. I have NOTHING negative to say. The prices aren't outrageous either. However and unfortunately, functionality was lacking. Specifically, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, lumpy, and hard, leaving us with little to no sleep and having to check out 1 night early. However, I've come back a number of times for brunch events, blog events, birthday brunches and have grown to love them. I have had different dishes from all courses, brunch, lunch and dinner. All of them were good. Of course some were better than others but overall, Coppin's is one of my fav brunch spots in Covington. We stayed at Hotel Covington just after they opened last year for a wedding nearby. The space was gorgeous and staff was attentive. The room was gorgeously well appointed and comfortable. Great snacks in the mini bar, and comfortable furnishings. We enjoyed it so much that instead of staying with family when we visit, we will be staying here again. I was blown away by how ADORABLE Hotel Covington is. The second I walked in, I wondered what had taken me so long to get there. I took my mom for Mother's Day brunch, and we both agreed it felt like we weren't in Cincinnati -- err, Northern Kentucky -- anymore. They sat us in the room next to the outdoor terrace, which was unfortunately being occupied for a wedding setup (I'm already daydreaming about having my wedding reception there someday). We ooooh-ed and ahhh-ed at how cute the terrace was. From the cushioned patio furniture and sofas to the exposed brick and string lights, it was a dream! It felt very chic and feminine -- the perfect place for a girls brunch! After perusing the menu (and consulting our trusty Yelp photos), we each had a mimosa and I settled on the Farmer's Omelette (with a side of goetta) and my mom picked The Morning Line breakfast sandwich. The food wasn't as great as the atmosphere, but certainly wouldn't stop us from coming back. We ended our morning with Marcella's Donut Bread Pudding, which was just as delictable as you'd imagine (tasted like a gooey cinnamon roll!) and was the real star of the meal. The bill came in around $60 which was a bit more than I'd normally spend for brunch for two, but worth it for the Instagram photos. ;) read more

Anyone who knows me knows I am a sucker for boutique hotels. I love unique interior design and this hotel is absolutely that, unique. It's a hidden gem in Covington located in a small town across the river from Cincinnati but has a big city feel on the inside. From the lobby to the restrooms, the hotel has a very welcoming chic décor. Check in process was very easy, the front desk flows right into the hotel bar and restaurant. It's a very open concept and I liked that a lot. It almost turns into a bar scene at night. The drinks at the bar were delicious and nicely priced. I love craft cocktails and this bar does them well. I did not get to eat at the restaurant down stairs but everything that came out looked delicious. The rooms itself are very nice. It's probably the best hotel bathroom design I have seen in a while. I am obsessed with subway tile and black fixtures and this bathroom had both. The shampoo and conditioner was amazing, I wish I could've taken more home with me. Overall the hotel is a place I would go to Covington just to stay at again. The reason for being there was for a friends wedding. She rented the smaller room off to the side of the bar for an intimate wedding. It was a 4 course meal that was catered around her love for Louisiana and Cajun style food. The appetizers were the mini biscuit sandwiches and the corn fritters. Both were delicious. First course was a crab gumbo which was good but almost tasted like a beef gravy. Second course was a kale salad which was delicious, topped with Goat Feta and pecans. Third course was fried catfish and black eyed peas. Sounds like a very informal dish to have at a wedding but the presentation made it perfect, this was probably my favorite course. Lastly, there was the short rip over risotto. At this stage I was full so I didn't get to enjoy this dish very much but everyone at my table raved about it. The only complaint I had with hosting an event at this hotel was that we were very much rushed out of the room. The event was until 9:30pm and around 9:25 they started to push us out, which is something that they said they wouldn't do upon signing the contract. I found this to be a little rude and as someone who works in events, a huge no no. I understand that they needed to clean and reset but it was noticed by the guests and the bride herself. So we left the room and proceeded to continue our celebration at the hotel bar. We ordered room service the next day for breakfast, which I didn't get to fully enjoy because of my massive hang over : ( But what I ordered was delicious (eggs, bacon, toast, and potatoes). There was a $4.99 delivery charge which I don't know if that is common but a little much for a hotel so small. Overall, it is a hidden gem in a town with a lot of character and age. Hubby and I had snacks/light dinner at Coppin's and very much enjoyed it. The first night, we noshed in the bar area, having corn fritters and pimento cheese, served with toast points. Tasty and delish. The pimento cheese seemed to be house-made, and hubby really liked it - don't think he'd ever had it before! The corn fritters were served with a buttermilk remoulade that was very good. When we dined, we ordered a carafe of Sangria, based on a recommendation from a friend. Having eaten at Coppins a few times before being seated at a table, this time my husband and I walked in and went to the lounge area near the bar and were able to sit in some of the comfy chairs, play chess, and be served drinks and appetizers by a server. It was awesome! The service was very friendly and prompt. They have a great selection of drinks and the appetizers are very good. We tried the tots and they were really tasty and not what you would expect from a typical tot (which is why it's in quotation marks on their menu). I knew it was going to be good didn't realize how good it was going to be. It definitely surpassed my expectations. They had everything from a chacuterie board that you could make, to salmon, to roast beef, seafood and your normal affair. The building is a repurposed department store and the little nods to it's past we're quaint. We loved the decor, it felt like we were staying at a Billy Reid store. It has all the KY Bourbon Southern charm with an element of luxury. Our rooms amenities were plenty and the views of Cincinnati amazing. When returning to NKY this will be my new choice in lodging. As soon as I walked into Coppin's inside of Hotel Convington, I knew I was going to have a great experience. The restaurant is super clean with white granite throughout. The decor is beautiful with different sitting options to fit your vibe (regular table, bar with stools, long community style tables, etc.). I sat at the bar for brunch, which was perfect. The bartender was very pleasant, attentive, and held friendly conversation with another guest and I throughout our stay. He also made great recommendations, as it was both of our first times visiting. The presentation of my French toast with bananas and walnuts was really pretty. It was deep fried to add just a slight amount of crispness with a soft center. Considering I cleared my plate, I think it would be safe to say I'd definitely order this dish again. We walked in on a Saturday at 7pm and were seated right away inside, but if you want to sit in the atrium you should call ahead for a reservation. So you've just sat down at your table...Time to order drinks! The bar here is fantastic. I'm obsessed with the Liquid Knowledge cocktail (Old Forester Bourbon, ginger, allspice, lavender, clove Co2, Jamaican #1 bitters) served in a custom Rookwood pottery mug. It was very spicy, but so easy to drink, and it's their best seller. I enjoyed it in the summer, but it would be phenomenal in the winter...It almost tastes like a cold mulled wine, but replace the wine with bourbon! For dinner I got the corn fritters to share, mussels, and my husband got the crab cakes. The corn fritters are a must order! They're fried and crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and served with ranch. Perfect as an appetizer for a group. The mussels were big, but the broth was a little underwhelming...I was more impressed with the corn bread served with it than the broth itself. haha The crab cakes though were phenomenal. Hardly any filler, they were full of big crab chunks and tons of flavor. The slaw served with it cut the richness of the crab and was a great compliment to the crab cakes. Service was great. I wish I had gotten our waitresses name, but she was super helpful with offering suggestions from the menu. After dinner we had another drink on the outdoor patio and played a round of giant connect four. This place is dog friendly too, so we'll be back with our pup! My husband ordered a tangerine hot tea and was clearly served him ginger tea. b. We ordered the cauliflower soup which we was not served prior to the arrival of our entrees. When the entrées arrived, I had to request the soup again. c. We ordered 3 appetizers for our table. When the bill arrived, the server put all of the apps on my bill, so I had to request that they be split. I thought it was odd for them to make that assumption and not ask how we wanted the apps to be paid. Most servers would have asked prior to giving us the bill. d. Food - decent but not spectacular. Several of us order the risotto. Most of us found it bland and under cooked. Overall, it was a beautiful spot with a fun atmosphere. First off this place it's beautiful. Ambiance gets a 10/10. You are hit with some of the best architecture and amenities upon walking in. The happy hour menu is brand new and an insane deal. (They just cut the HH menus literally in the past week.) We got a couple of snacks. The black Eyed Hummus with bagel chips was really good but the chips were cut a little too thin and broke apart when dipping. What earned the extra star was the Hotel Covington parking attendant in the garage behind the restaurant. He walked up and hit the computer to put the gate up for free parking! We went the basilica for church then decided to try out Coppin's for brunch.... it was fantastic I had the sweet potato corn beef hash wow I loved it My husband had the sliced prime rib and eggs and said it was perfect. Coffee was a great roast and the atmosphere was sublime. Cool combo of chic and rustic wish we had tried the bar out because the drinks going by looked great tooOur server Hannah was a sweetie and the hostess was very warm and actually went out of her way to get us answer on an event ...."movie night" (I love Birdcage) I would make this a must on your list if you haven't made there yet.... for any reason and we will definitely see you there read more

I LOVE HOTEL COVINGTON. We made last minute reservations on the morning of our trip to Cincinnati/Covington. My husband and I planned a day trip to Cincinnati from Columbus, but we wanted to stay overnight. I am SO glad we chose Hotel Covington. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. The check-in process was smooth. There is a parking garage next door to the hotel that cost $10 for the day. The hotel offers valet parking, but I am not sure about the cost. Unfortunately, we visited on a Monday so a lot of the restaurants/breweries we wanted to visit were closed. There are multiple bars and restaurants within walking distance, but since most of the places were closed, we opted to stay in the hotel for a drink and snack. The outdoor patio at Hotel Covington is awesome. Corn hole, life size connect four, dog friendly (!!!), tons of comfortable seating... I didn't want to leave. We ordered the pimento cheese spread with our drinks in the afternoon. Delicious! The hotel bar has happy hour so we were able to get drinks for $3! We visited the patio again before the bar closed at night, and it was magical with the soft lighting and string lights. I would stay at the hotel again just for this patio!! Our room was beautiful. We stayed on the 7th floor with an amazing view of downtown Cincinnati. The hotel room had a mini bar with local drinks and snacks! Our shower was huge, the bed was SO comfortable, and we really appreciated the bluetooth speaker in the room. I would highly recommend Hotel Covington. We will be staying here again when we come back to the area. read more
