Nice hotel in the middle of downtown. Easily accessible. Valet overnight is $45 but there are other parking garages around the hotel. Honestly better to valet Park then use the adjoining parking garages since the cost is almost the same. Their restaurant brunch service is slow and the staff does not seem to be in a hurry, which is okay for a slow morning. Dinner options were delicious and so will drinks.

    This room is huge!

This was an amazing hotel. The staff was helpful and pleasant. The restaurant was fabulous, good food and good service. I absolutely loved the art installations throughout the building. I will definitely stay there again next time I am in town. The only reason that I gave it a four star review is that this is an older building with a ton of dust and a couple of things that could be maintained a little bit better.

Our server was the only good part of this experience. Everything else was a mess. Despite a reservation for a 12-person birthday brunch, we spent the first several minutes hunting down a hostess because no one was at the coat check. Food took almost an hour, the restaurant was basically empty, and no one bothered to tell us they were about to shut down for their mid-day break. My meal never came at all because they ran out of fries and the order apparently wasn't constructed when ordered. On top of that, they only allow the check to be split five ways for a 12-person party, and we weren't told until the end. Between the lack of communication, slow kitchen, and closing bar, the whole thing felt unorganized and unprofessional. The hotel is gorgeous, but brunch was a complete letdown. I'm glad my mimosa was good.

Obviously, the attraction with the hotel is the art that's displayed throughout. They also do a "nightcap at the museum" which is just a free tasting sample of whiskey (would be cool if they just offered a free drink with your hotel booking). We had some issues with the hotel reception, there was a few issues that we had throughout our short stay and the staff wasn't necessarily apologetic. The hotel rooms are sub-par, nothing really special although our room was clean, the gym is in the basement and is pretty basic. The location is good to walk to other places though. I would say stay at another hotel and just stop by to walk though the art displays as it's open to the public and free. It's also not much maybe about 4-5 rooms of art if that so won't take long to enjoy.

Stayed here for a night and the service was on point. The valet, the front desk and any other staff I met along the way were super approachable and helpful. I really appreciated free and easy access to some beautiful art and loved that the art continued throughout the hotel's staircase, halls, lobbies, and even bathrooms. The room itself was well maintained and nice. I liked how easy it was to use the window blinds and adjust light levels-always a perk in a hotel. And the A/C heat worked great! My only critique-the walls and floors could use a little refresh/upgrade. I do recommend staying here, for sure. It's a good location and the restaurant/bar attached, Metropole, is lovely.

    The bridal suite

I had high expectations for 21C given its reputation, price point, and modern branding--but my stay was a major letdown. I was here for my sister's wedding, which took place next-door . Her bridal suite looked really nice! But my personal room... The room wasn't fully clean--there was hair in the sink and on the floor, and some trash left behind. The space felt dusty and musty, and the hallways looked outdated and worn. Definitely not what I expected from a boutique hotel that prides itself on being contemporary. The art in the lobby? Stunning. That was the one highlight. But even brunch at Metropole was a bust--I stood there for 10 minutes without anyone greeting or seating me, so I ended up walking across the street to Brew for better service. To top it off, the rooftop bar--which could've made up for some of the disappointment--was closed to the public for a private event. Overall, extremely disappointed. Not worth the hype or the price, and I won't be returning.

I've stayed here before (and reviewed it then too). There are less expensive hotels, but none as cool as this one when it comes to art. When I stayed here in 2022, there was a large Bisa Butler exhibit, with several supporting pieces from artists of color. This time was no different--several pieces from Black, African, and Indigenous artists. All bright, creative, stimulating. This time I was slated for a king, but got upgraded to a corner suite for 45 dollars a night (great deal when you take into account the original price). The suite has a large sitting area, a table with four chairs, a bar/credenza, a separate bedroom with plenty of drawer and closet space, and bathroom. The bathroom has a separate toilet space, then a wet room with a shower and soaking tub. The soaking tub is not the most amazing one I've ever had (Oklahoma City had the best I've ever experienced in a 21C), and I wish the lights in there were softer, but I'll take any tub I can on any day! The bed is comfy, in general well equipped. My only real gripe was that the bathroom, tub, robes, and towels were full of hair that didn't belong to me, and if I'm paying almost 1500 dollars for two nights, I'm not sure I can let that pass. I know housekeeping is often overwhelmed and understaffed, but really? Front desk was attentive. Restaurant (reviewed separately) is great. Love the art. Love being able to wander around with a cocktail and ponder what it all means. Valet is also responsive and helpful. And the hotel is walking distance from a lot of great spots. Glad I stayed here, can't beat the food, drinks, and art. Hair be damned.

We stayed here for a week for my big birthday. We were both born and raised in Cincinnati, but spent the last seven years in California. Moving back, we noticed a lot had changed while we were gone. I wanted to take the opportunity to stay downtown and get reacquainted with our city. Staff was great during the valet to check in. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was extraordinary, with Rookwood tiles of noses, eyes and other body parts! LOL It was pretty cool. The hotel must have a water softener, which made showering an absolute delight! We visited the bar each night; fyi we don't drink alcohol. They had great NA options, including a wine I fell in love with. The staff in the bar were fantastic. They even made an extra effort to provide me with birthday macarons, which was super sweet and very much appreciated. Metropole is a fantastic restaurant, which I've reviewed separately. The art in the hotel is fantastic. They were doing some updating in some of the areas, so our art exploration was a bit limited, but still wonderfully interesting. Of note, the floor lighting on the floor outside the restrooms is fun!!! If you are there for the hotel or for dinner, you gotta check it out!

I've heard such good things about this hotel, so when it came time for me to book a work trip to Cincy, I was pleased to see 21C as an option. I arrived out front and a valet was there to direct me to check in and take my car off my hands ($40 a night). Check in was fairly easy but I was bummed that the art displays in the lobby were under construction and all blocked off.. That was one of the selling points for me. All good, there were other artistic elements throughout the hotel. My room was on one of the top floors and had a nice view of Downtown Cincinnati. The bathroom was large, there was a fridge in my room (don't find that too often anymore), and I liked that I could Chromecast my Netflix on the television. My bed was large, the giant white robes were comfy, and everything was really clean. I stayed for two nights and slept pretty well. The main reason why I docked a star was because check out and the days following check out were not the best. They charged me $177 twice for having a late check out... which was inaccurate as I checked out around 9am on the day I was heading home. I found myself on the phone with them 3-4 times before they could get everything worked out and I finally got my refunds. I also wasn't provided with a receipt when I left. I assumed they emailed it to me but when I got home, nope, nothing. You'd think it would be common practice to email a final invoice for my stay. I had to discover the two $177 charges myself after reviewing my credit card statements. Look, I understand that people book rooms here using all different kinds of websites but this wasn't acceptable and could have been prevented with a little attention to detail. While my stay was pleasant until it was over, I'm not totally sold on staying again. There's plenty of other hotels in the area.

Stayed 9/27/24 The good: -great location in downtown Cincy -great restaurant/bar attached -cool bathrooms that were clean The bad: -hotel is showing it's age -carpets dirty in hallways -musty odor in rooms and rooms are dusty and showing their age. -red splatter on ceiling in room...is it wine...or is it blood? -no parking and valet not efficient. Circled 8 times waiting for a spot. ultimately paid for street parking until the valet could go get my car to park as the front desk did not recommend parking overnight on the street. Overall...was a premiere hotel when first opened but now showing its age and hasn't kept up with the time. Won't stay here again unless it changes

    Shower art

This place is kind of amazing. It's not a hotel it's an actual museum with a hotel built around it. There is art everywhere you look even on the floors in places. As I was checking out I realized that even the front desk was a piece of art. All of the art is owned by the owner of the hotel, and all of the artists are living and frequently come and give seminars there. Even the showers have been converted to pieces of art, with ceramic body parts cleverly sticking out of the walls. The front desk staff and management is absolutely fantastic. The bed is very comfortable and they have blackout shades that pull down behind the curtains so the room is completely black. Highly recommend. I actually had a brief interaction with the Director of Operations, David Kennedy, and he is a true hospitalitarian. You can tell he cares deeply about his property and guest satisfaction. 10 out of 10.

Love the entire chain of 21c hotels - we've stayed in Louisville, Lexington and Chicago, and while we've visited the bar in Cincinnati before, this was our first overnight stay! First off, 21c never disappoints with interesting art installations! They were in the process of changing exhibits while we were there, but for the first time I encountered one of the wandering penguins and that more than made up for that! (We may or may not have borrowed the penguin overnight.... Penguin-napping is so much fun!). The staff was very friendly and helpful, and kept us well-stocked with ice! The room was perfect (we had a standard king room) and the bathroom was immaculate. I have to say - I had way too much fun with the funky tiles in the shower! Can't wait to come back - this is such an amazing location and couldn't be more convenient! Pro tip - valet was reasonably priced and worth the cost. It's $20+ to park overnight anywhere downtown, and the convenience of having our car right there great! The valets at this location also have absolutely phenomenal hair btw!

    The "clean" bathroom drain. Disgusting.

Normally, I find hotel food is just okay and nothing special, but Coppin's was a pleasant surprise. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess, and our equally pleasant server quickly brought menus and asked what we would like to drink. When it was my turn, I happily ordered Coppin's Old Fashioned. I was the odd man out because everyone else ordered the Spring Manhattan. Judging by how quickly everyone's drinks disappeared, I'd say they were all very tasty. I was a little unsure about mine at first, so to make sure the quality and taste were consistent, I ordered a second, and it definitely was not a mistake. I ordered the B+G biscuits (which are made by hand according to server in the hotel) and gravy with an extra egg. Others at the table chose a variety of dishes, including the CVG, Cobb Salad, Bagel and Lox, and several other selections. Based on the clean plates all around the table, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. My wife ordered a sample of banana bread, and I was fortunate enough to snag a small bite, it was excellent. After we had all finished, everyone agreed that my niece had made an excellent choice for her graduation celebration brunch. As my wife and I made our way back to Louisville, we both commented that we would definitely return the next time we were in Covington.

Going back and forth on stars for this one. Me and around 30 of my coworkers came into town for a…read moretwo day workshop and they got us a room block at this hotel. I ended up being in the North Building and cracked up when I walked into my room and saw I was in one of the Lightwell Lofts (a few of us ended up in them by chance, guess they included them in our room block lol). While the room was super cool and beautiful, there was a lot to be desired. After taking a million photos of the gorgeous room, I quickly realized a major flaw - the bedroom is upstairs, the bathroom is downstairs, and the staircase between the two is a crazy narrow spiral staircase. As someone that gets up to pee in the middle of the night, having to traverse the spiral stairs was terrifying lol. One of my coworkers actually swapped with someone who had a "normal" room because he was worried about falling down the stairs. My downstairs tv wouldn't turn on. I fiddled with the remote a bit, tried rearranging the batteries, but couldn't turn it on. I used the ipad in the room to put in a maintenance request, but no one came. I figured I would just let the front desk know when I headed out to dinner that night. Hours later, the front desk calls me to see if anyone had come to fix the tv - they hadn't. The girl was very nice and apologetic, she said I sent the request in the middle of a shift change and someone had accidentally marked it as complete. So she said someone would be right up, and he did come up. Handed me a handwritten note and a $25 coupon for Coppin's which was totally unexpected and a very nice gesture. Turned out, he knew exactly what the problem was - he said the remote was broken and he was supposed to swap it out but forgot. Gave me a new remote and all was good. He also mentioned there is a second remote upstairs for that tv. After he left, I went to look for it - there was no second remote. We held our meetings in the Scheper Room, which was also beautiful. The room was absolutely freezing the first day and I'm someone that prefers it a touch colder and was uncomfortable. We had to get them to update the thermostat and then in the afternoon it was way too hot. We had food brought in from the hotel and it was all fine, nothing super memorable. There was soup at lunch but the sign didn't even say what it was - just "chef's choice." The Italian hoagies were way too big and needed to be cut in half, I couldn't even finish half of one. The salad with fruit/pecans/etc was my favorite though. They had the completely wrong password on the tables for the Wifi but thankfully we figured it out quickly that we just had to use the room password. The second day for breakfast, there was yogurt on the menu and even on the sign with all the food - but there was no yogurt. Some of my coworkers were specifically asking for yogurt so we had to request it directly because it was included and paid for. Box lunches to take to go on the second day which were fine, I had the chicken caesar salad wrap. Housekeeping didn't come to service my room until 5pm when I was in there getting ready for dinner, so I was not able to get the room serviced. Just asked them for some more coffee. My conditioner in the shower was empty but I didn't bother reporting it after the tv issue and I had my own conditioner with me, so used that. The lotion at the sink was so thick that I could not get it out of the bottle at all, I had to use q-tips to get it out (it was nice quality, just kinda useless if you can't get it out of the bottle lol). Great local offerings on the mini bar and in the fridge. My coworkers and I got a kick out of the "intimacy kits" because we were on a business trip haha. The Magic 8 ball was fun, I loved the conversation cards even though I just read a few of them to myself haha. Even with the bedroom upstairs, it was nice to have the big double closet in the bathroom hallway so I really was just in the loft to sleep and kept all my stuff downstairs. The location is great, lots of fun stuff right nearby. The courtyard is lovely. I would say this is a solid 3.5 stars but since we can't give half stars, I'll give it a 4 because the staff was overall very nice and quickly fixed any issues, just a little annoying that we had any issues at all.

So my Bookings app brought up this place, which is close to the ballpark. So I booked it for 6/3. When I got there I was told there would also be a parking fee. It is what it is. I was given a room up high, maybe floor 13. Lucky me! I will note the view is the best part of this hotel. My view was of I75, meh, but it's still nice to look from above at cars and trees. I would have loved a view of the Cincinnati skyline, though. Well the vibe of the place is dark and there are warning signs about car break ins so I brought everything inside. The elevator was interesting but pretty small and the ride was shaky. When I got to the room it looked ok but definitely not that bright and welcoming. I thought a perk would be to go out on the balcony and check out the view. Unfortunately, the door was locked and the door wouldn't budge. I was able to see out the windows, but they could use a good scrubbing on the outside. I reminded myself that I wasn't there for the room I was there for ribs and baseball so didn't spend much time in that room. I was able to make it to ballpark and park then walk to the rib house and back to ballpark by the 2nd inning. I returned back to the hotel after stopping at the Plum Street Cafe which is near the 4th and Plum where I once lived. Driving back, however, my app sent me around downtown Covington until I realized I needed to turn in an unmarked alley by the gas station to enter the lot. To quote Run DMC It's tricky, tricky, tricky! I headed back to the room and then a darkish walk to the ice machine. I really think this place could use some updates or cut the price point from $152 to $75. The halls also echo in the night. On my billing statement that just came from Amex it indicated that I stayed there on 6/2 instead of 6/3. I didn't take many pictures since there are plenty online already. We arrived early hoping that we could check into our rooms but they had been full the night before. We requested a low floor for my elderly parents and just gave up at 4:30 and took the first available room. After check in, I needed to park my oversized truck. I was directed to oversized lot behind the property. Once I pulled into the lot I see a sign but many of the spaces also had old faded signs that said "No Parking". I parked next to one of my relatives two spaces away from on one of the signs. My brother in law also found a space on the opposite end of the row near one of the signs. We go up to our room and unload our stuff and the door to the bedroom just falls off after I close it. We call maintenance and after a couple hours they finally fix it. The AC at this place is on blast. Even if you turn off the thermostat it will still keep blowing. The TV's act as though they are stealing cable. Every 5 minutes the TV will blank out and sometimes power off or they will constantly say "No signal". There was a TV in the dinning area that was doing something similar. They had football games on from last season and you couldn't watch because it kept scrambling. The next day, I'm sitting next to my cousin on a trolly on our way to a museum and she gets a call that her truck had been towed that morning. This was the vehicle I parked next to. My vehicle had also been towed. I talked with security at the building that I discovered actually owned the parking lot and they informed me that I had parked in an unmarked loading dock. They also mentioned that they had sent someone over to the hotel to have us move the vehicles but because the hotel doesn't ask for license plates when they charge you for parking, there was no way to find us. For some reason they did ask us what state the vehicle was registered in. $180 and a $20 Uber. I asked to speak to a manager but he wasn't scheduled to come in until 4pm. At 4:30 I come down to talk and the desk attendant gives me the run around. She hands me the number of the building that actually owns the lot and says to call them. Apparently the manager must have been hiding in his office listening to the whole conversation. Right after that the he comes out and attempts to give me the same number. Then he refuses to discuss the matter with me. I then demand that he take the parking off my room since he refuses to take any ownership of the problem. He gets in front of the computer and says its been removed. After the exchange Brian one of the nicer desk clerks walked out and spoke with me in private to try to deescalate the situation. I appreciate his efforts. The condition of the property made sense after trying to speak with the manager. Later we learned that the actual over sized lot is further down an alley and not where the sign is (See pics). That night my wife and I are sitting at the bar and decide to order food. I ask the bar tender if we can charge the food to our room. We get our food and the bar tender also hands me the bill. I charge it to my room and probably spend another hour at the bar. I eventually go to my room and my cousin calls me and says that they charged them for my food. I come down to take care of the bill and the same bar tender I spoke with tells me she said yes but that the other bar tender spoke to me and told me they couldn't charge my room. The conversation with the other bar tender never happened. Later we learned that their system was down and that's why they couldn't charge rooms. The next morning I go to eat breakfast and its horrible. The omelet station's line is out into the seating area. I decide to just get some buffet items. There isn't enough utensils so all they had were forks. The staff kept running around gathering up the plates in order to quickly rewash the utensils. Its not the workers fault that management doesn't prepare for the volume of people booked for the property. Saturday afternoon we return back to our room and it hasn't been cleaned. We call down to the front desk and they say that they will send someone up but that never happened. My wife was not happy. On Sunday this circus was finally over. I check out and you guessed it. The parking was never taken off my bill. I tell the desk person the whole history of the towing incident and she eventually takes it off my bill. I checked my Hilton Honors points this morning and low and behold there's no record of this stay (3 rooms). This place is no good. Avoid at all costs!

Showers had decent water pressure and the room was pretty comfortable. Television offered plenty of things to watch including some movie channels. Forgot to lock my door and one night at around 3am, somebody entered our room!!! First time in my life I didn't lock my hotel room. Person who entered politely apologized for the mishap but it was unnerving. Remember: always double lock your hotel rooms. Breakfast buffet is typical Hampton Inn and does the job but isn't memorable. Although it looks worn out, bones of the building are good and rooms comfy. Would stay here again.

We stayed here for one night while visiting Cincinnati for a Reds game. I chose this hotel over…read moreseveral other reasonably priced options because it had recently been renovated, and I'm glad we did. The biggest downside was the elevator situation. The same elevators serve the lobby and guest rooms, so there was often a wait, especially since they're fairly small. It took a couple of rounds before we could get on one with enough space. If you don't mind a short walk, there's a staircase in the back that can be a convenient alternative. The lobby is located on the second floor, and the staff was friendly and efficient. We were welcomed with complimentary bottled water and checked in quickly. Our room was lovely, modern, and impeccably clean. The only minor issue was that the room door was very tight and took quite a bit of effort to open, but it wasn't a major inconvenience. One experience that stood out was housekeeping knocking on our door around 10:50 a.m., even though checkout wasn't until 11:00 am. The housekeeper wasn't rude, but she did ask what time we were leaving, and we simply replied that we'd be checking out at 11:00 am, since that was the posted checkout time. It wasn't a huge issue, but it's not something I've experienced at other hotels, so it caught me a little off guard. Overall, we had a great stay. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-priced, and I'd definitely stay here again on a future trip to Cincinnati.

On the plus sign, valet, front desk, and all personnel are customer focused. Building was renovated in the past 10 years, and all details are lovely. Extremely clean. Rooms are large and very luxe. Room service was perfect in every way. So why not 5 stars? We love the rooftop bar and that played a huge roll in getting us here. But all three nights we were here it was closed for private events. I hope the events are making them a lot of money, because it can cut into their basic customer base. I will be checking to see if the rooftop is open before booking here in the future. One other small complaint...our room was never serviced until late afternoon when we needed to get ready for dinner. Turn down service (including chocolates) on first day only. That made me sad.

Complete attention to detail - even a shaving mirror built into the shower wall! The public areas are all special in their own way. The lobby area is in the new build area with soaring ceilings and beautiful fixtures. The rooftop restaurant (covered) and bar (outside) are thoughtful designed to ensure fun. The location is great. A little out of the way and yet close walking distance to everything. They also provide free limo service within 5 miles. Handy for any Over the Rhine excursions. The staff is excellent - from the valets to the chef. I wish I remembered the name of our waitress for Subito dinner on May 19. She was one of the best ever. This was a truly memorable celebration spot.

Great location and comfortable hotel!…read more This is my first time staying in this hotel, and I would rate it a solid 4. Located in downtown Cincinnati near the Fountain Square, this hotel is in a excellent location close to many restaurants, landmarks, and the free tram. When we arrived in our Lyft, the bell men came out immediately to help us unload our luggages. The check in was a breeze and we got adjacent rooms on the same floor. The hotel has a decent gym in the basement, a restaurant on the second floor serving casual meals, and a 24 hour convenient store offering candies, beverages, and even umbrellas. As for the room, it was spacious with good storage space, comfortable bed, and a bathroom with a nice shower. Our room rate was $149 a night, and it was discounted due to long term stay over 3 nights). Wonderful hotel with reasonable prices and everything you need. Will return!

Overall, I had a good experience and would stay here again, but it did have its pros and cons. I'll start with the cons because they were minimal... The valet was understaffed and it impacted my ability to get in and out when needed. They have a great texting system for contacting (and tipping) valets ahead of time and were upfront about asking to give them at least 30 minutes notice. Well, I did that and it still wasn't enough time. One time I notified them well in advance and my car was there, but I ended up waiting at least another 10 minutes for the valet to come back from getting another car before I could get my key. This meant it was upwards of 45 minutes of me waiting. Not ideal. The other con was that the room I was assigned the first night had the loudest humming sound coming from the bathroom that kept me up all night long. It wasn't the white noise that you can usually drown out either. I ended up using a sound machine app on my phone and it still didn't help. I called down to get a new room, which they were happy to do, even upgraded me, but I found it odd when they said they are aware of the issue, there just doesn't seem to be anything they can do about it. As for the pros... The location is prime time baby! Right downtown near restaurants, bars, coffeeshops, and the stadium, etc. It was very easy to get to being right off the major interstates that run through Cincy. Their staff were incredibly friendly. I wandered down to the marketplace in the lobby late one night to get a bottle of water and they gave it to me for free. Much appreciated! My rooms (plural since I had to be moved) were extremely clean, spacious, and comfortable. Both had a nice view, too. As I mentioned before, I would stay here again. I visit Cincy roughly two times a year for work, so I have no doubt I'll be back.
