Normally, I find hotel food is just okay and nothing special, but Coppin's was a pleasant surprise. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess, and our equally pleasant server quickly brought menus and asked what we would like to drink. When it was my turn, I happily ordered Coppin's Old Fashioned. I was the odd man out because everyone else ordered the Spring Manhattan. Judging by how quickly everyone's drinks disappeared, I'd say they were all very tasty. I was a little unsure about mine at first, so to make sure the quality and taste were consistent, I ordered a second, and it definitely was not a mistake. I ordered the B+G biscuits (which are made by hand according to server in the hotel) and gravy with an extra egg. Others at the table chose a variety of dishes, including the CVG, Cobb Salad, Bagel and Lox, and several other selections. Based on the clean plates all around the table, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. My wife ordered a sample of banana bread, and I was fortunate enough to snag a small bite, it was excellent. After we had all finished, everyone agreed that my niece had made an excellent choice for her graduation celebration brunch. As my wife and I made our way back to Louisville, we both commented that we would definitely return the next time we were in Covington.

We spent the night here for Valentine's Day and our experience was not great…read more I do want to say that the staff was very friendly and helpful. Immediately upon arrival, even though I paid ahead of time weeks ago, I had to pay an additional $200. Then the elevators were old and shook and made so much noise I thought they were going to get stuck constantly. Then, all the hallways smelled like smoke and weed. The room itself wasn't awful but the sheets were stained and the bathroom shower had no curtain or doors so water would get everywhere if you used it. The outlets were so loose it was hard to charge anything and the Internet was so unbelievably slow. We also ordered strawberries and champagne for Valentine's Day. We only got 4 strawberries and 2 of them were rotten. Avoid here at all costs.

BEWARE: BED BUGS! Reservation: 4/10/26-4/12/26…read more We arrived late, did our usual check and sure enough. We went downstairs and made the front desk aware, they were already aware of the bug situation. They apologized, acknowledged that it was a known problem & offered us another room hoping this one might be a little better because all the surrounding hotels were sold out. We decided to give it another chance.... That room had bed bug fecal as well. The next morning when we returned to the hotel, we checked another room that our child was in and they had it as well. (He stayed with his travel team and asleep when we arrived Friday) We pulled him out very quickly and spent our morning at the laundromat, taking all of the precautions not to spread it or take it home. Trying to find a hotel on a sold out weekend and spending 1/2 the day at the laundromat was a huge inconvenience and was not in our plans for the weekend. The staff we encounter Friday night was very friendly and seemed annoyed that housekeeping "Couldn't even do their job to change what had the bed bug fecal on it". Disappointed that they would even allow guest to stay in these conditions as it can be very costly for those who take it home with them. It appeared to be the rooms that had the hardwood floors that had bed bugs. I did check two other rooms that were carpeted for someone else and those rooms had brand new mattresses, plastic mattress covers on them and showed no sign of bed bugs. 3/5 Rooms had signs of Bed Bugs. I do not recommend this hotel unless you want to take home unwanted guest.

Good, but not the best…read more Hotel itself is a work of art, and the rooms are mostly nice enough (bathroom was a bit small, but for an older building that's to be expected). Restaurant is overpriced for what the quality appears to be. Front desk service was awesome in the morning when I checked out...but nowhere to be found when I was checking in. Would I come back? Probably, but it wouldn't be my first pick.

So I've stayed here was a month for about 14 months…read more I travel every week so over the years I've stayed in more hotels than I can count. This one is my favorite. I've stayed in most of the many different room types they have and my favorite is the one with the big bathtub. It's amazing! There is a full gym. Like people have memberships to the gym and they do group classes. The 1931 restaurants is really good. I love their French fries and Corey makes the best espresso martini you will ever have. The staff are all really nice and go out of their way to be helpful. But most importantly, it's the hotel itself that I fell in love with. This is an historic hotel built in the 30's and they have done a good job keeping as much as they can original. You can wander through the hotel and find pictures of what the area your standing in looked like almost a hundred years ago and read about the people that stayed there or what has changed and not changed. I love just wandering around this hotel and reading those and looking at the art. Hands down my favorite hotel.

They were short staffed and i had to run down to the front desk for shampoo and hand soap but the staff was really kind. The room needed more attention we did find some a chip bag under a night stand and the windows needed cleaned. Other than small inconveniences that did not affect our stay, we had a plethora of towels, the ac was powerful and the shower water was nice and hot. The beds were extremely comfortable as well. We used the pool, which is small but warm. I received two drink tickets as well. The evening reception was a nice touch. My kids got free nonalcoholic drinks, some snacks, crackers cheese, veggie tray, sweets and chips and salsa. We were still full from lunch which was walking distance from the hotel. Breakfast was actually phenomenal. A whole room of food and made to order omelets. Breakfast staff was also really attentive and kind. Parking is $12 if you don't need to leave otherwise it's $22. My kids really enjoyed the staycation as did I.

It was actually two separate large rooms -- one was the bedroom with a king bed and the other a sitting room with a pullout couch and a 43" flat screen tv and WiFi. There was a separate area that included a microwave, small fridge, coffee machine, etc. Also, a doored closet for your coats. -- The suite, including bathroom, was modern and very clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable, and basic toiletries were provided. -- Before arrival, we were concerned that the rooms might be noisy due the hotel's proximity to the bridge. This turned out to be unfounded as we could barely hear the bridge traffic. -- The hotel has a swimming room and on-site fitness room that we didn't use. -- The free breakfast had a huge variety of hot (eggs, sausages, oatmeal, pancakes) and cold (cereals, pastries, yogurt, fresh fruits) options, as well as different options for coffees, teas, and hot chocolate. Offerings were replenished regularly. -- Location is good for driving access to the Cincinnati riverfront area. (For instance, the Underground Railroad Museum is only about 5 minutes by car across the bridge). -- There was free parking. We parked in the lot behind the hotel, from which there was key-controlled access to the hotel. A few additional things worth noting. -- The hotel is on the Ohio River, and its name includes the term "Riverfront." However, there wasn't easy walking access to the river, nor did we have a river view. -- Upon our first approach to the hotel, we found that it was adjacent to two liquor stores -- and what we thought was hotel parking was actually parking for one of the busy liquor stores.

Room service was perfect in every way. So why not 5 stars? We love the rooftop bar and that played a huge roll in getting us here. But all three nights we were here it was closed for private events. I hope the events are making them a lot of money, because it can cut into their basic customer base. I will be checking to see if the rooftop is open before booking here in the future. One other small complaint...our room was never serviced until late afternoon when we needed to get ready for dinner. Turn down service (including chocolates) on first day only. That made me sad.
