I fell in love with hot yoga here. I've taken classes with Brittany and Sam. Brittany is so amazing omg she's so positive and she makes you feel amazing! Sam is a little bit negative. I get it we are all humans. I think the class would be much more wonderful if he didn't talk about his political views, tattoo opinions, music opinions..... it can be taken as offensive by some. But he has an amazing heart and is amazing at helping you improve your yoga! read more

I attended this studio for a year and kept going back due to the sheer challenge of the workout. There are limited yoga studios in the area and Bikram Yoga pushed my body in ways that other studios did/could not. Contrary to what others have said, I did not find the studio to be particularly clean - the smell as a result of the hot room and the sweat that continuously saturates the carpet was often unbearable, although they do what they can to keep it clean. Although Sam is excellent, I found the other instructors to be quite rude. Overall I felt the place was unfriendly and uninviting to newer practicers. Personally, I decided in the end that the militant style of Bikram yoga, coupled with the "mean girls club" of veteran yogis, simply wasn't for me. I now attend a new studio and am much happier. read more

I practice here when I'm visiting family, which means I've just gotten off of a plane with two toddlers and I'm all twisted up from those oh-so-comfy airlines seats. The studio is nice, although they didn't take credit cards - not very convenient. The other students seemed pretty cool, but the instructors take themselves just a little too seriously, me thinks. I'm just here to do yoga, and sometimes I can't straighten my leg, so don't yell at me about it. I have an injury, but since you didn't ask at the beginning of class, you didn't know. Not to mention I've practiced yoga for over ten years, so I do know where my limitations are and when to push and when not to. Not very friendly when I walked in, no smiles or greetings, and when I asked where to put my rented mat after class, I got attitude. Whatever. I also didn't like when the instructor dissed another yoga studio in Auburn. Not very yoga-like if you ask me. Bad karma! read more

Bikram Yoga is not for the faint of heart --really. I was all like, sure , it's a hot room, but I've done yoga before, no sweat. So. Very. Wrong. Knocked me on my butt by the 6th pose. Vacated the room like a wussy and slunk back in during the "Dead Body Pose" b/c I knew I could lie down. This place is clean, organized, run by seemingly caring people -- but be warned -- it is hot, 105 degrees before people show up. I will attempt this again, and soon, because I think it will actually help me with my piriformis syndrome. What I did learn was -- don't push it! Do what you can and eventually you will be able to do the whole 90 minute class without passing out. That's what my teacher Danielle said anyway. read more

Bikram Yoga might not be for everyone but it certainly is for me. Just a light background on Bikram Yoga, it is the same 26 postures every class. Instructors actually have the same dialogue that they are to repeat each class. Class is held in a room that is 104 degrees and very humid. If you have issues with heat you may want to be wary about practicing bikram. You face wall of mirrors and the instructor stands on a platform and recites the dialogue. It is much different then other yoga styles classes. I think that the heat makes it much easier to come into a meditative state. The first 5-7 classes are the hardest, but once you get used to the flow, used to the dialogue, you learn quickly. I would recommend if you are trying to for the first time to get a one month membership, so that you go a bunch of times. This is the best way to try bikram (actually any studio really) This Bikram Yoga Auburn studio is a great place. They have a TON of class times to choose from, especially in the winter when it gets really busy. The teachers all bring their own unique stories to the dialogue which is very enriching. You pick up something new every class. The teachers are all very friendly and love to answer questions after class. Sam, the owner, is at the height of this. He is friendly, engaging, and very knowledgable. He has his own personal story about healing through Bikram Yoga and it's nice to hear his stories in class, and ask for advice or any random question that pops into my head after class. It also is in a very central location, in Auburn right off of either highway (395/290 or Mass Pike). Would definitely recommend! Give it a try! I haven't done anything to inspire myself so much to push my limits in a long time. As the joke I made to my friend who showed me was I haven't sweat that much since I ran from the police haha. But for first time people make sure you don't drink a lot and get few hrs of sleep like I did definitely made me nauseous, but do yourself the favor and do this ! I've been going to yoga here for nearly two years. I never would have tried it had my wife not convinced me to go to one class. I've been hooked since. I've done traditional workouts for 20 plus years with weights and cardio.. you know the drill. I still do , but I would not be without hot Bikram yoga. It is improving my balance, range of motion, flexibility and overall strength. It reduced my blood sugar (I'm diabetic) although I have not changed my diet. It has also helped me keep my weight in check. The staff here is very good at helping you and giving the direction you need. You do need it! This is not something you can do on your own. Give one class a try. I felt like crap during that first class, I had no balance, terrible flexibility, it was hot... but how I felt afterwards is what kept me coming back. read more

About five years ago I started taking this yoga class and became a total addict. I attended classes at least five days a week and found so much comfort in the challenge of the the heat and the yoga moves. Bikram Yoga Auburn had become my sanctuary; I turned to the yoga studio in lieu of going to bars and drinking. I became a much healthier and happier person. Also it helped me lose those last extra pounds that I needed to take off. A couple years ago "life" got in the way of me attending class on a daily basis, and now I feel the stresses of life again. I returned to the studio a couple months ago to find great improvements. New paint, new carpet, and new heating system. I know that there have been some posts about how dirty the place is, but there have been a lot of great improvements which make it a very peaceful and clean place. I plan on getting back to my regular yoga practice so I can once again feel relaxed and look healthier and younger. Back when I took those classes religiously, I constantly had compliments about how good I looked and what a nice glow I had. I'm so glad that I stopped drinking so often and owe it all to Bikram Yoga. I LOVE BIKRAM YOGA! It works your body, mind and spirit in ways that I did NOT anticipate when I started going. I just returned home from my annual physical and I've lost 17 pounds, dropped my cholesterol 26 points and have managed to come off ALL of the medications I've taken for the last 20 years to ease depression and anxiety. Who knew!!!! I'm convinced that regular attendance (3-4 times per week) is a natural fountain of youth. Sam, the owner of the studios located in Auburn and Westborough, is a great teacher who constantly promotes the healing power of yoga. When I first started I must admit I was skeptical and took what he said with a grain of salt. Beware, this is yoga in a hot room. All of the classes are "beginner" bikram yoga. The studio is clean. I'm also impressed with how quickly the staff/studio sends reminders for new events, maintenance work and yoga-specials. All of the instructors are amazing. They reassure you when you feel like you're not accomplishing a pose. They are also not afraid to learn your names and call you out on a pose that you should/could work on. For me this is a 4.5 out of 5 stars. My wife has been going to bikram for more than 7 years, myself on and off for 3. I have lifted weights for more than 20. Most of those were years were spent training for power so I am absolutely as stiff as a person can be. At about 230 (36 waist heh) I'm a big guy and it's mostly an awkward experience for me whenever I am in the bikram studio. It's not the studio itself it's the practice. Despite the proclamation that it's a beginner's class this isn't for the faint of heart. 1.5 hours in 100degree+ room with 40% humidity is challenging at most levels of fitness. Sam the owner: this guy is great, he gets the full picture of the yoga experience. What this means is he understand the people walking in are of varying mindsets and he embraces it. You don't have to be a hard core yogi to go to his studio you just have to try the right way and you get 100% benefit. Always flexible with payment options and takes feedback well. The best part about Sam is he just wants people to do Yoga. Take one of his classes if you can, you'll love the guy. Instructors: Very knowledgeable staff and varying approaches. Each one is friendly and pleasant always willing to help you. There are times when their zeal can make for awkward moments. Often corrections will be given in class, it's never from a negative place they aren't yelling at you they are acknowledging your practice and attempting to assist your progress (that's their job). What happens from time to time is, mentally you aren't in the same place. Meaning each class is a unique experience, there are classes I simply want to lay in the back and not be bothered with effort, others I push very hard. The consistency displayed by the instructors can't possibly account for my mood at that time. Again this isn't a negative per se more of a heads up, don't take things personally comments made in class are coming from a good place. Studio: The location works for me, it's right off of 290 super convienent for those in Worcester metro area. This is where I take the .5 off on my 5 star rating. The men's changing area is way too small. Women have a shower in their room and more space. Now there are far more females and practically this makes sense. However if you are changing and the men's changing room has more than 5 bodies in it good luck.... Some days the room stinks. It's bearable and I imagine a lot of bikram studios have this issue. They do a great job of keeping it clean but this place gets a lot of traffic in and out. I've been in classes with 3 rows, someone is under every dot. The smell is minor really it's never affected my practice but this wouldn't be a fair review if it wasn't mentioned. Ratio: There are a lot of females at bikram. Now this isn't inherently a bad thing but remember gentlemen this isn't a meat market, be respectful. I have had classes where I am the only man in the class. This is more of an FYI for males, this could be uncomfortable to some people. Don't worry about it you will be treated well, but don't be surprised if your first few class's people seem guarded. Overall: I usually sit in the front 20 min before class to wind down from the crap I have to deal with at work. I'm quiet (unless you start a convo then I won't shut up) and I've observed the comings and goings at this studio for some time. It has a great vibe and everyone from my 11 year old son to bikers covered in Tattoo's come here and are made to feel welcome. If you're looking to get in shape and improve your health give bikram auburn a try. read more

Horrible model!! Show up just 3 minutes late to find the whole building locked and they won't let you in after you've driven all that way. I've never heard of a workout class that wont let you in being just 3 minutes late..nevermind locks the front door because they cannot afford a receptionist. I've been going to Auburn Bikram off and on for 7 years. I often get too busy with life, stop doing yoga, and then regress in terms of health and fitness. I can always count on participating in a regular hot yoga practice to restore my fitness and happiness. It's always a treat when Sam teaches since he is so supportive, knowledgeable, and funny! I've been to this yoga studio several times and I like all the instructors. Its hot yoga and the 90 minute class is always the same sequence but it never feels repetitive or like the instructors are reading from a script. The studio is very clean and they have showers as well as antibacterial wipes for your feet before you enter the yoga room. read more

best yoga studio I have been to. Sam the owner is so supportive and just wants you to come and practice your practice. All the teachers there are well trained and friendly. No matter what your problem, Bikram yoga will fix it. I have seen amazingly challenged people master this hot yoga. I tried all forms of yoga and Bikram gives you the best workout. I get a better workout from 90 minutes in class than going to the gym and pumping iron or running on the treadmill. To all the tough guys out there, bring your tough guy buddies and do 30 classes in 30 days and see who is the last tough guy standing! new students get unlimited classes for 2 weeks for $20, crazy good deal. go every day for 2 weeks and you will feel like you have a new body inside and out. just do it, you'll love it. I have been practicing Bikram Yoga for almost 18 years and I Love this studio! I have practiced (and still do as I travel frequently) all over the US and have seen all kinds of studios and experienced all kinds of teachers. This is a great studio with knowledgable, friendly teachers and loyal students. There is also a great mix of male and female students here and although I have no problem being the only man in a yoga class, it has never happened to me here. In fact Bikram yoga (in my experience) has more male students than any other yoga I have practiced and I have practiced many styles. BYA is a clean and friendly studio and I would (and do) recommend it to anyone. In fact I have brought many of my friends and sometimes I even convince their teenagers to come try a class. I have been doing yoga on and off for years but decided to try bikram because I have pretty significant limitations due to medical issues. I really was drawn to doing the same poses every class so I knew what I was in for with no surprises. I called the owner Sam because I was really nervous and unsure if I wanted to try a class. He returned my call ON HIS VACATION and offered to help introduce me to the poses, assess my limitations and help me adjust the poses accordingly in order to feel less anxious about taking a class. No other instructors in all the years I've been doing yoga have given me a more thorough understanding of my individual body and how yoga can work for me. This man really knows his stuff. I've read all the stories about bikram yoga because I've done extensive research before trying a class, you know.... the ones that say the instructors yell at you when you're not pushing yourself, don't let you leave the room or drink water during class, call you out in a crowd and frown on you for laying down during a pose. I have already been to 3 separate instructors and NONE of them were like that. They all have learned my name immediately, tell you to GO SLOW and listen to your body when you need to. They come over and help you adjust when you need it and have been nothing but supportive and yet encouraging. The atmosphere is great and I have not felt out of place being a beginner. There are yogis who I've seen do the poses perfectly and beginners like me. I have not once felt out of place or inadequate. Just the opposite, this is the first time I've done yoga and started to really accept my body for where it's at. I believe it's because Sam took the time to help me understand how my body is functioning and let me know I will get more benefit out of going slower and doing the poses " the right way" instead of pushing too quickly too soon. Maybe some of the bad rap bikram gets out there is true in other places but it certainly isn't that way at this yoga center. I started 3 years ago, and to tell you the truth , I can not stop. I like this studio very much. People are great. Studio has everything I need.... Teachers are very helpful. Bikram Yoga is one of the best workouts you can get. There is no f... around. After each class I fell calm , and very peaceful. I fell like I am at home again. It is one of the best feelings You can get. Some say the studio smells a little bit.... So what ? It is part of the game. It has to be that way... We all go there to suffer , not to enjoy. That is what Bikram is all about. After 90 minutes , you go outside , and everything feels more intense, nice and fresh. You feel alive again ;) I went to many studios in different countries, and each one looks different and smells different. It does not matter anyway.... This is my first Bikram Yoga class and I really enjoyed it... if you get dizzy, you're apparently doing something right. What I don't like is the God awful smell in the studio! Years of sweat has saturated the carpets and it permeates through your yoga mat! It's pretty gross... they should consider tearing up the carpets and getting different flooring. read more

Life-changing! Been going for ~4 years since approaching 50 and never felt stronger... Wow. Sam is great and has put together a caring team of instructors. Even though the routine is the same you get different tips from each. The students are all different ages, sizes, men and women.. It's great to see. It took me 5 years to get back to Bikram yoga. I did it a lot when I lived in New York City, but I've been away from it, gained some weight, and had a baby. I was terribly nervous to take a class. While the man who was at the desk (I am assuming Sam), was very nice and friendly, I found the instructor very cold and unhelpful. As someone else mentioned, she took herself just a little too seriously, calling me out in class for turning my mat because "Bikram doesn't allow you to turn your mat." I felt like a fool and for the rest of the class was completely out of my element. I have taken literally 100s of Bikram classes and no one has ever called me out like that. In my opinion, that's just not cool. It's one thing to help someone or quietly walk over and say, "you know what, we like to keep the mats in one position," rather than an "uh-uh, no, no, no." I felt like I was in pre-school. Bad karma! That said, I will go back to the studio, I will just avoid that particular instructor and hope some of the others are better. read more

Woohoo it is! I have been practicing about three years. After practicing for one year, a medical condition, cysts, were suddenly gone. My doctor in Boston was pleasantly surprised. Recently, thyroid nodules have been found to be no longer. Again, a Boston doctor seemed pleased and a little surprised. The only thing I am doing differently is practicing Bikram yoga, ( my home studio Auburn), as often as I can. I believe all that "freshly oxygenated blood" flowing throughout the system must be doing something. Sam and all the teachers at the Auburn and Westborough studios are fabulous. They truly attend to the students and guide you through your practice. As Sam always says, "The hardest part is getting here". Once you are there it is all worth it. I notice increased strength and endurance for the other physical activities that I do. In addition, I have gained emotional and cognitive benefits for managing a busy lifestyle! To have such internal physical benefits as I have experienced is like icing on the cake! read more
