    Buffalo Chicken and tots
    Sara Y.

Helpful service and huge portions. We weren't sure what to get so we got the boneless combo and more boneless on the side and it was too much food for us. My son enjoyed the grilled chicken sandwich and I preferred the buffalo to the dry rub. We were in town visiting but I'd try it again and order differently knowing about the portion sizes.

It's nice to find a place that caters to gluten-free folks with a dedicated fryer. The mac & cheese was decent, but I would've liked it if they maybe cooked it in such a way that there were some browned cheese areas. I liked the Asian honey mustard wings, though I was surprised that they were not yellow, lol. The mustard flavor was very subtle. I ordered a six pack of wings and they gave me seven, bonus. My husband was the one picking up the food, and when they asked him if he wanted the buffalo sauce mixed in with the fried cauliflower or on the side, he said mixed in. I found this to result in a very overwhelmingly strong buffalo sauce flavor. If I did it again, I would definitely order the buffalo sauce on the side.

Lot of good memories here, fried pickles are pretty fire. Tried three different flavors of wings this trip and all were solid

We've had good experiences here in the past and have always enjoyed the food. But today we ordered for pick-up and I'm not sure if this because it was an hour before closing or what but the sauce on both our hot wings and bbq wings was chunky?? It didn't taste like it had gone bad or anything but it was a completely different texture than usual and not enjoyable. Disappointed :(

Delicious chicken wings. So good and amazing. Thank you to our lovely server Daphne for all her help and suggestions. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Awesome ambiance, super cool vibe in there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Incredible and also delicious wings, buffalo flavor was scrumptious. 10/10, love it! Be back soon.

The wings here are excellent, the cauliflower wings are a personal favorite of mine! They have a variety of sauces to choose from, buffalo and maple bacon are great, but be warned buffalo is fairly spicy It definitely has a kick to it but if you like realllly spicy, they have some hot sauces that will do the trick! Their appetizers are great too, fries are crisp and portions are nice. Customer service here is nice, employees are friendly and even during a rush the wait isn't too bad. It can definitely get busy here though so keep that in mind. Parking can be a hassle as well, however we just parked across the restaurant and there was no issue. Fairly quiet restaurant and there's booths, as well as tables outside too. You could definitely sit outside on a sunny say if that's your vibe, they have multiple set up! It's a pretty lax location, perfect for groups of friends or couples, families, really anyone who enjoys chicken wings.

    Full chicken tender basket

I am not a wings girl, so it took me some time to want to come into Hot Mama's. We decided to stop by yesterday after a hike, and boy am I glad we did! I ended up ordering the full chicken tender basket (4 tenders) with the buffalo garlic sauce. I think these may be the best chicken tenders I've ever had and I've had my fair share of chicken tenders. They were perfectly juicy with a thin, flavorful crust. The garlic buffalo dipping sauce was also very good and the garlic gave it the right boost of flavor over traditional buffalo. My fiancé ordered the spicy fried chicken sandwich and said he really enjoyed it as well. Both his tots and my fries were crispy which is how I love them. His brothers shared 24 wings with 3 different wing sauces and said they were all great (unfortunately, I don't remember what they chose...). Staff was super friendly and brought out our food in no time. I also loved that they had outdoor seating both in front of the restaurant and off to the side. Parking was a bit difficult to find since they do not have a parking lot (that I know of), so we had to park a bit down the street in the residential area. I am already craving these again so I'm sure we'll be back soon!

We came here for lunch today, mainly because the wings are outstanding! This was the first time though that WE were here and able to dine in. The service is very friendly and engaging but I did find the music to be a bit loud, was difficult to chat. The dining room is comfortable enough with plenty of space at the tables, but they could probably remove half of the speakers or turn down the volume a bit. As for the food, it is still just as good as the last time we had it. I had to go back for the Spiced Maple Bacon Wings and dirty fries. The wings were coated with real bacon and maple syrup and is just a perfect blend of heat and sweet. The dirty fries... wow, I forgot those puppies have a little more heat than I remembered but are still fantastic! They come with a melted cheese sauce, bits of bacon and chopped green onion. The portions are so generous that two of us had to get take out boxes for the leftovers. We also got the pretzels with beer cheese sauce. They were fresh, warm and soft. The cheese sauce is addictive. The small house salad was a very fresh spring mix and was topped with roasted red peppers, red onions and chick peas. It was ordered with a tangy balsamic vinaigrette that met a need! The mac and cheese was stellar as it was a four cheese blend that was smooth and creamy, very flavorful and also very addictive! The chicken strips, again, that perfect crisp, moist meat and subtle heat flavor was very satisfying. The menu is extensive enough to make us want to return to try the BLT and burgers, but we keep getting hung up on the pretzels, mac and cheese, fries and especially those maple bacon wings. Yea, I think we're going to need an intervention to get past those items just so we can try the rest of the menu! 5 stars for the food 4 stars for the too loud speakers

There is plenty of street parking on Lawrence between 13th and 12th. You can also park across the street in Berg's parking lot in the evenings after they close at 6:00 but not before.

    Are the wings gluten free?

Yes, all wings and sauces are gluten-free. Also, no gluten goes into our deep-fryers.

I was excited for this one, but it ended up being way too salty. The Porker was definitely the standout. Every bite was flavorful, and the sauce was really good. I'd recommend this one. I stopped in for a drink while my to go order was being made and had a Tiger Bomb, a beer with a shot of soju mixed in. The drink was great, and the service was incredibly hospitable. Even though I was just waiting on a to go order, they offered me complimentary banchan, little bites of cabbage, carrots, and cucumber, to snack on while I drank and waited. That was much more hospitality than I expected from simply picking up food. The prices are very reasonable for what you get. The portions are generous, everything tasted fresh, and the food felt genuinely high quality. The Korean fried chicken is really, really good. I got the Volcano sauce, and it is legitimately hot. Not restaurant spicy. Actually spicy. I eat the spiciest of the spicy food, and this was a good 8 out of 10 for me, which is probably a 15 out of 10 for most people. It has serious heat, but plenty of flavor underneath it. The dry rub chicken balanced it perfectly, with a tangy, acidic, savory flavor that cut through the richness and paired really well with the Volcano sauce. Crispy chicken, acid, spice, and a cold beer is a pretty hard combination to beat. I also got the kimbap with spicy pork, and that was amazing too. The rice and fillings tasted really fresh, the pork had a great savory sweetness and heat, and the vegetables added freshness and texture. Every bite had a little bit of everything. Between the food, Tiger Bomb, complimentary banchan, and service, I was already thinking I had found a new place I really liked. Then I got home. The only real downside was unfortunately the tteokbokki, which is ironic because that was the entire reason I found Tiger Mama. It was literally the term I typed into Yelp that led me there. And this is where the review gets complicated. Flavor wise, it was amazing. The sauce was sweet, tangy, savory, and a little spicy, with that deep gochujang flavor you want from tteokbokki. The fish cakes were tender, plentiful, and full of flavor. There were glass noodles, mandu, and half a hard boiled egg, giving it a lot of different textures. It felt like a more elaborate, modern take on the classic Korean dish. The rice cakes themselves were fantastic. Great size, wonderfully tender and chewy, and soaked in that delicious sauce. Honestly, the tteok I did receive might be the best I have had while dining out. My problem was that I received three of them. Three individual rice cakes. In an $18 order of tteokbokki. That was genuinely disappointing. Tteokbokki was why I came here. It was what I searched for and what drew me in. The menu picture showed plentiful, delicious little rice pillows sitting in sauce, which was exactly what I had been craving. Instead, I got a large serving of glass noodles, fish cakes, mandu, sauce, egg, and three rice cakes in a dish named after the rice cakes. If this had been the only thing I ordered, I could easily see myself leaving a sour one star review and never going back. But that would not represent the experience I had. Everything else was too good. As someone who loves Korean cuisine, both cooking it at home and eating it out, I can tell there is a lot of care put into this food. Even the tteokbokki was excellent in every respect except the rice cake quantity. The sauce was perfect, the fish cakes were great, the mandu was a nice surprise, and the sweet, spicy, tangy, savory flavors worked ridiculously well together. It also pairs really well with a beer. Or six. Unfortunately, I live too far away to have noticed until I got home, and they were already closed. I'll call tomorrow, and based on the service I received, I'm confident they'll make it right. Three rice cakes for $18 was genuinely disappointing, but I'm not going to let what seems like one portioning mistake outweigh an otherwise excellent experience. The food, atmosphere, hospitality, and care put into everything were too good. Tiger Mama is a great addition to the Whit, and I'll absolutely be back. Especially for more tteokbokki. Hopefully next time, more than three.

The little slice of lemon it came with was a great topper for it all too. I would definitely get it again! I also got the sparkling lavender lemonade and it was so so good. It was perfectly balanced and I couldn't stop drinking it. The food was all pretty affordable which I appreciated. Lunch and drinks for two people was about $35.
