I absolutely love this salon! Everyone is always so friendly, and during COVID-19 it's so clean - I feel safe! Julie is my stylist and she is absolutely amazing! Short hair is tricky and she's mastered it!! I always get so many compliments on my cuts. I've seen their work with color too but I've made up my mind to stay gray, but if I was going to dye my hair again, I'd completely trust Julie! I also had microblading there. Wow. Worst experience of my life! I came to this salon with THICK, LONG, BEAUTIFUL hair...what I was left with is horrifying. Madigan is the employee who did my hair, I came to her with extreme past trauma of my hair being cut way to short...as she saw me so nervous she asked if I was okay...I explained how terrified i was to have someone new do my hair and destroy it...she assured me I was in good hands....spoiler alert I WAS NOT....BEWARE!!! This woman was doing multiple clients at once when I arrived all while BLEACHING my hair...fast forward...she comes to rinse the toner out of my hair...tells me "sometimes blonde doesn't show up on wet brunette hair" UHM EXCUSE ME WHAT??? Yes it does I've had this done before...I left unhappy with the color...it was caramel...up to my roots...and not at all the balayage I asked for....My inspo picture was literally of my hair done the previous time... she covered it up told me the lighting was bad and even styled it for me. It was terrible when I got home...I knew something was wrong..but I'm no stylist so I wasn't sure what exactly...I let her know I hated it a few days after, while she did try to contact me to fix it....I was already out of town for work as I travel....I understood, we tried again when I got back with no luck of scheduling working out again tried to schedule and could not so I was instructed by this stylist to put a blue shampoo on it that it would fix the brassiness....well my hair had been so dry and over processed when I was told to put the blue shampoo on it just completely broke off all of my hair...made the damage worse....thinned out my hair....I have BALD SPOTS....I DONT EVEN LOOK THE SAME!! I was upset mad angry sad all of it but still understood mistakes happen....after talking to the stylist she told me I would get a refund...she failed to include the entire story to her boss when explaining why I wanted a refund, so her boss originally called me saying "I guess I could refund $100 this time" After having to call the salon to speak to her boss and explain this stylist COMPLETELY DESTROYED MY HAIR and that's why I want a refund to cover aftercare, she agreed to a full refund...also agreed to send me 3 Olaplex products to help with damage as they are so expensive(0,3,and 8) upon receiving my refund, I did receive a package from her....ONE product! ONE! Not the 3 that were promised to help repair my hair, only one! I've never written a review before...but this is not only the most horrendous hair experience of my entire life, this is the absolute WORST customer service I've EVER received! I've spent over $300 so far on hair masks, overnight conditioning treatments, special shampoos, bonding styling cremes to help with frizz, vitamins, collagen packs...you name it all the while I've lost any confidence I had, my hair was my favorite thing about me....it's now destroyed...due to someone's negligence and straight up disregard for my fear of my hair being ruined! When given the opportunity to do everything they could to fix it by sending the promised products....they failed again! I don't understand how these people can be so heartless and careless about the situation....it's disgusting!!! BEWARE, STAY AWAY. If mistakes happened and everything in their power was done to fix it...I wouldn't be writing this. So disappointing. read more

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Yes, I went back to Hot Locks. Not for my hair, god no, but for a shellac manicure. Yes, I am a glutton for punishment. Blah manicure. Not much better than the hair but way less permanent. Again I was too nice to speak up. Just don't bother with this place people, I think I have finally learned my lesson. read more

I've been going here since I was a little girl, and no matter where I seem to try I always come back here. I've gotten a majority of their services here through the years. Anything from a cut and dry, an updo, manicure, pedicure, massage, waxing, etc, but frankly, I haven't had anything more than a cut and style done here in a while. The stylists are all very different in communication style and expertise, so you kinda have to ask who's best at what. For example, a few years ago, a stylist that I loved to have cut my hair did an updo on me and I hated it. But there was a stylist I had never tried before when I was getting my hair dyed the first time and it was wonderful. Typically, I go here for my hair cuts. My stylist is Melissa and I love her. I'm probably never going to find a salon I trust more than this place. read more

DON'T go here!! Just terrible,my daughter & I both came in with pictures of what we wanted,they burnt the crap out of my daughters hair.. Neither of us got what we asked for,they charged us $60.00 over price stated,stated price 3 times..So for $$355,we had to go someplace else to have hair corrected in same week! I too would give negative stars if possible,worst experience ever,please don't let them gouge you for money & ruin your hair.. We've disputed charges,esp $60 add on & we won't give up till this is fixed!! I've been going here for my whole life and everyone I've seen has done an incredible job. All of them are very nice and personable, as well as good at their job. They always offer you something to drink and little things like that. Something I also appreciate is that usually they'll explain what they're doing to you hair as they do it so you understand what's happening, and they always ask and make sure it looks okay and you like it. Your opinion is definitely valued! I'll never go anywhere else! read more

If zero stars was possible i would give this place zero stars. walked in a little before 8pm yesterday with my boyfriend, asked if there were any openings for 2 pedicures, and the older lady behind the desk looks at us laughs and says no in a mocking tone. She then proceeded to ask if my boyfriend needed a hair cut ?? as if it was a diss?? while the rest of the ladies behind the counter laughed. I don't know about their work but their attitude was awful. I do not recommend this place in any way, work could be amazing for all i know but their attitude was unbelievable. read more

If I could give them negative stars I would. Walked in with very very long hair with intentions of getting a long inverted bob. Even gave the girl a picture with same hair texture as mine. Apparently she was too rushed to get out of there or just that bad but I walked out with about 11inches cut off my hair and basically a pixie cut. Then she tried to fix by hacking up the back. Tried to Julie the owner on the phone but she couldn't be bothered as she was in her way out of town... Next stop is BBB..place is absolutely horrible with Best Cuts stylists. read more

Went to hot locks after receiving a promotion in the mail. I made an appointment with a stylist that had been recommended online. When I got there, they switched stylists on me and I ended up looking 10 times worse than I did when I rolled out of bed that morning. I came home and the first words out of my boyfriends mouth were "what happened, I thought you were getting your hair done". Hah. I just shook my head and said never again. Ok. So it's obvious they are hurting for business- that's why they sent out a promotion in the mail. But they let you leave the salon looking like garbage and they expect you to come back?? Not happening!! This was an outrageously terrible experience. Don't go there. Go anywhere else. Dont be disappointed like I was. Worst experience I've ever had at a hair salon. read more

I have very thick and curly hair and it's hard to find a stylist who knows what they are doing with my hair. Nicole is very knowledgeable. She listed to what I wanted and threw in her two cents when necessary. Will definitely return to her! read more

Have been going here for ten years! Jennifer was awesome for hair, but she left a couple of years ago and I started having Patty do my hair. Terrified to have someone new do the color and cut, but she is truly wonderful! So very happy with Patty...perfect color every time, and she never cuts too short! For shellac, Dawn is amazing! She combines colors and topcoats for amazing results and super long lasting nails. Front desk receptionist are always so nice and inviting. Hot Locks is comfortable, clean, and I highly recommend! read more

I have never written a negative review for a business, but this I felt was necessary. I had gotten my hair relaxed a couple times by the owner of Hot Locks and it turned out well. The last time I had my hair relaxed I felt something was not right. My scalp felt tight and hair super flat. After a day I realized my roots were at a 90 degree angle and that she had given me permanent hair bends. I had a trip to Europe for a month and when I got back went immediately to the salon. The owner took no blame and even told me it was probably due to the water in Europe. After doing my own research I knew it was because she applied the chemical at the root and not an inch away from the scalp. So now a few months later my roots have grown out two inches and are breaking off at the end causing thinning and coarse looking hair. My hair will be ruined for the next two years (until it grows out) since there is no way to reverse this damage. Not only did the owner ruin my hair but she also took no blame nor did she give me my money back. She gave me a free deep conditioner then convinced me to get a hair cut and buy $30 worth of hair products saying it would help tremendously (I was desperate). If you want quality hair care I suggest going elsewhere. read more
