It feels less like walking into a restaurant and more like stepping into a family member's home, the kind of place where you're welcomed, seen, and treated with genuine care. Everyone is always so kind and personal, but Ben and Addison deserve a special shout‑out. The two of them are incredible. Their personalities are what keep bringing us back. They have this rare ability to set aside whatever negativity the day might bring and greet the next customer as if the sun is rising behind them. 1st time at hot head !!! Annnnd I was impressed ... got the founders tacos and damn were they good ... the hot head sauce is yummy ... I added extra cilantro and the sweet habanero sauce and the were perfect .. chicken has excellent flavor and they didn't skimp on the ingredients... this is my new fave lunch spot !! read more

This place is like another Chipotle/Qdoba, but what I like about this place and what is different about it is they have premade bowls and burritos as well as creating your own. They have various types of bowls to choose from and the bowl sizes are pretty big. Now of course they won't have all the toppings and what not but they do have a variety of sauces for the variety of bowls and if I'm not mistaken in Sundays (I think) you can get 2 entree items for $15 so a bowl and a burrito, 2 burrito or 2 bowls etc. Overall I liked the place the server/cashier was patient and nice. I just left Hothead on Dixie in Middletown and it was the worst ever, don't recommend at all. Not only was the food garbage but so was the customer service. I asked for a water cup and I went and started to pour some water but it had a weird color to it so I just got a pop, they started to get busy, so I did not bring it to their attention, but the woman manager, she noticed it. And she came over and told me next time, make sure I get water, and I told her why I didn't. And I apologized, and I offered to pay for it, and she said, no, just next time get water, and I'm like, okay, and then this Guy that was working back there that literally looked like he just rolled out of bed.Comes over to me and tells me that if i'm going to be rude, there's the door and you can leave, and I was so confused because I was not being rude until he came over.Poking his chest out at me. Good food, good ambiance with the TVs and AC and lighting, and nice enough people but it seems to me like the people at this particular Hothead are determined to have some consistent issue with their food. Years ago it was that they were stingy with meat, nickle and diming people into paying for "double meat" when barely was put on in the first place. Now the issue is the consistency in the assembly of the burritos person to person. Some people are great, phenomenal even, with no issues. Other times, the problems include, but aren't limited to, putting on so much rice that i can't taste much else, not straining the beans and Taco meat grease to the point that the final product is a runny mess, and overstuffing to the point that it can't be wrapped correctly period and everything explodes out the sides. Its also worth mentioning that it's a coin flip whether or not they bothered to turn on the soda fountain before selling drinks to customers. I want to love this place, as I personally think Hothead, on their best day, knocks Chipotle out of the park, but this place has too many consistency in quality issues before I can comfortably give this anything higher than 3 stars. read more

Went with my husband for supper. He ordered a burrito bowl with pork & all the fixings topped with sweet habanero sauce. They were pretty stingy with the meat & cheese. Nonetheless, it was delicious & tasted fresh. I ordered a taco but my server didn't really drain the grease off the taco meat so it was a bit messy with grease dripping out every time I took a bite. Been here less than 5 times, every time there is some issue. Most of the time they are out of grilled veggies. Why? They don't keep making them when they run low. The amount of meat you get is also extremely variable. It depends on how well they fill the chicken scooper. Every time the Middletown store is dirty. Smack me silly and hit me with my handbag. Eating food in Middletown has always been kind of a choice between a paper sack, a drive through or a Big Boy with extra sauce. This was a delightful alternative. On a Tuesday night I found people, happy voices and good vibe there and I thought just maybe there is more to fast food in Middletown than hard chairs and french fries. I had chicken in a bowl it cost 6.59 and it was much better than the place next door where I would have had the same old tired, same old. As good as the food was the employees there are happy and they smile and joke and that is important too. Happy workers = happy food :) This is a long over due to these parts. Inside is bright cherry and has an upscale cool factor to it. Feels good just to be there. The great food is a bonus. For Middletown Ohio this is a grand slam in a very good way. read more

I have given this Hot Head burrito multiple tries and they seem to fail almost every time. This time I got shorted on my protein. I got so much rice and beans, but 2 tiny scoops of chicken... I asked if that was it, and immediately got a that will be more for double meat. I hated it the first time I went. I was a Chipotle fan and this place just didn't live up to what I was used to. But then I went again and got something different. And again. And eventually I found a meal I really like! And... That's why this place gets a 4. They have a lot of choices that Chipotle doesn't. They have sauces. They have queso. They have spicy meats. At first I was skeptical because there are so many Chipotle-inspired restaurants, but their wide assortment of sauces lured me in. For the prices, it's a bit disappointing the serving size. The quesadilla is my go to for best bang for my buck. The burritos are always beautifully made, but the most flavor definitely comes from the sauce. The sweet habanero is delicious and I add a splash of the extreme so I can enjoy some heat. One time I ordered just the extreme, and whoooosh! Definitely packs a sweet punch. You have to be careful and watch the people making your food to make sure they put enough especially with the sauces. Not a place I would waste my money at again. Walked in the black girl behind counter seemed irritated. As if she didn't want to be working on Friday evening. So I go up to her and say hello I wanted to place an order. I'm on the phone with my wife, and the wife wants everything in a bowl. I order my usual. Go to pay, $22 later, I get home, and my wife's meal looks like something for a toddler. 2 pieces of steak a teaspoon of guacamole, a tablespoon of rice and a dinky tiny smallest wrap to roll her food in. Feb.11th 2019 Shift Manager with Brunette Long Hair had a very bad disposition towards Black People . Upon ordering food. There was not a greet or hello. My Caucasian Friends also noticed her not wanting to make my order. As a Physician I understand we all have our bad days; Yet to also treat others fairly no matter what! Your color of skin should never be the reason to ever judge someone.
