This place was quite the surprise. Coming back home after a long day of visiting friends and family, my friends suggest stopping at this place. I've never heard of it. But after some searching, they appear to be a regional chain. Okay, I'm always apt to trying new things. So we go here and I walk in and immediately I am confronted with a very laid back theme. I very much liked what I saw. Very California surfing and skateboarding and just laid back. The folks at the counter were very helpful for me considering I was new and had no idea what I was doing. It is what they call the "Chipotle style" where you tell them what you want on your order one at a time. I got a bowl and I started it with the Chiwawa rice ball. Yes it is spelled like that. It's basically a big ball of fried rice that they mashed down and that is the base of the bowl. I then topped it with beef, beans, sriracha ranch, sour cream, cheese, lettuce, and probably some other things. In the end this was a heaping dinner that I thoroughly enjoyed for only $10. Definitely was worth it! I feel like I really got my money's worth here. Friends also got similar stuff including the Nashville Hot Chicken Bowl. I needed to pick up a couple things at the grocery next door and seen this was open. Well I needed dinner anyways so why not stop it and try a new place. I ordered 2 burritos and 2 apple empanadas cost was $23 if I recall correctly. I got one in shredded chicken and one carnitas both with sweet chili sauce and rice, beans, onions, and lettuce. The burritos were better tasting than any other chain that I have been to. And the apple empanadas were so very tasty. Almost tastes like the original McDonald's apple pies. Not the crispy perfection, but a breaded version that was still very good. I not only will be back, but I must try some of the other options. Great chicken quesadilla and chiwawa carnitas bowl with queso. A few things I really like about this place it - the people behind the counter have always been really nice and helpful in helping me and the wife pick out what we want and figuring out what flavors are going to go well. There's some unique flavors and sauces you simply cannot get at a chipotle or even a top notch Mexican restaurant. I'm a huge sucker for their scorpion pepper sauce and they make good wings too. The chiwawa is a cheese filled fried ball of rice that you top with meats and fresh salsa/veggies - have not seen this elsewhere. You'd think rice would be a little boring and a filler like it is elsewhere, but the meat and the crispy exterior texture makes it kinda addicting. Another thing I like to do - order some bubb's and then take it over to the Kroger bar and pair it with something crisp and hoppy. God how did I get this bougie. It happened fast. Also I am now fat. First time trying this place. Establishment was clean and orderly. They greeted me as I walked in. The young lady who waited on me was very friendly and patient. She was very helpful with my questions. The food was made fresh and ready in about 10 minutes. Over all the taste and quality was very good. I will be back to try more of the menu. Bubbakoo's is a great little restaurant tucked into the Liberty Commons Plaza off Cincinnati-Dayton and Yankee Rd, next to Kroger. I didn't know it was there. Bubbakoo's is far better than other taco and burrito chains. Each time I was greeted with a smile and the friendly servers made recommendations. They have a great menu selection, I've tried a Bowl, Chiwawa and Burritodilla, ALL VERY GOOD. The Burritodilla was grilled to golden perfection, aways quality ingredients and a lot of bang for your buck. Looking forward to trying the Taco Salad next time. This location is near Kroger in the plaza. This is just like a chipotle or qdoba. When I arrived they were cleaning the floors which is great and it looked nice inside. I choose a bowl and overall it was okay. I echo a similar review where the rice wasn't cooked very well at all and the chicken was also not grilled as well as it could be but overall it was okay. The bowl for me had some good spice to it which is nice. They didnt have the fajita vegetables I like which was a bummer. In an ultra competitive landscape you have to knock it out of the park the 1st time which they did not. Theres no reason for me to come back as there are many others that just do it better. read more

We went online looking for restaurant ideas for a quick dinner and came across Bubbakoos in Liberty Twp. We had never heard of them before but saw they were like a Chipotle and Hot Head Burrito. But after eating we found out that they were MUCH better than those two restaurants! The food was fresh, the portions were generous, and the staff was extremely friendly. Stopped in to try this place out. The crew that made our food was friendly and very patient with this being our first time. I opted for the burrito bowl with beef & bf got a steak burrito. Very large portions, I couldn't finish. The meat is seasoned and very tasty compared to other chain joints. Buffalo sauce is spicy in my opinion, but I'm kinda a wuss when it comes to spice. I stopped by for a quick meal and... it was terrible. The service was great and the people were nice but everything else was bad. I got the burrito on the $8 daily meal, the rice was basically uncooked and the burrito was freezing cold while the chips were extremely bland. My child got the classic chicken sandwich with the curly fries. The chicken was burnt and the sandwich was smashed almost like they punched it flat. The ambiance was the worst I've had to eat in. The restaurant was completely dead which made it possibly the saddest meal I've ever had. They also gave us cups with the meal, which was nice, but there's no lids for the cups. And the cups are extremely flimsy to where I could barely even pick it up with one hand. The workers were very friendly but the food and restaurant itself was just terrible and made both of us feel nauseated. Neither of us took pictures because of how unappealing the food looked. But it's not about how the burrito looked, it's about the contents of the it which were bland, burnt, and old somehow all at the same time. I cringed at the thought of eating at a place called this, but I went ahead with husband's choice this time and didn't regret it. We got carryout, and not everything was made according to our specifications. We ordered 4 items and 2 were not. I got the BBQ pork quesadilla just to try something I'd never had and it was really delicious, fried to perfection. I also got the black beans and rice which had no flavor whatsoever. The dogs got those. My husband ordered the shrimp tacos but they were missing the jalapenos he requested and were topped with pico do gallo which he'd asked not to have on it. After taking them apart, cleaning, and reassembling, he said the shrimp was really good and wished they'd made them correctly in the first place. The apple empanada had a delicate flaky fried crust and a nice filling. It was supposed to be topped with a caramel sauce but wasn't. So overall, if they would have made everything correctly we really would have liked it. As it was, we liked what they did make correctly. We'll try it one more time in hopes that we get them on a better night. read more

I feel like I'm echoing a couple reviews but the service was fantastic! I was really unsure about the sauces and the gentleman working let me taste test several so I didn't get one that was too spicy! Which I really appreciated! He was super sweet and talked me through the whole process as I'd never been there before but as I sit here eating it I'm not sure the food quality matches the service. The rice is slightly bland and the grilled chicken (which isn't really grilled) is really over done in sections. It's cheaper than chipotle, hotter than chipotle, and the service was way nicer than chipotle but the bland rice and overcooked chicken knock it down a few stars for me. I want to go back maybe mid day because I did stop an hour before closing, and that may have played a role. read more

They were so good to us. We celebrated my son's birthday there. They helped us navigate the menu and wisely advised my son to put the scorpion pepper sauce on the side, which he appreciated. I loved the fried chicken, bacon and sweet chili sauce quesadilla. My brother enjoyed the taco salad and everyone else had delicious burritos. They brought out fried tortilla triangles with caramel sauce on one side and strawberry sauce on the other for his birthday. My dad and son decided it's their new favorite food. read more
