We stopped by after seeing their buffet on Facebook, it's AWESOME!! Service was polite and fast. Lots of choices for a family style buffet, and of course you can order from the regular menu or the bar. Prices are good, food is great! The manager (owner?) was so nice and helpful, def a change from the other restaurants we've ended up at recently. This is going to be our new Sunday brunch spot!

The food was cold and not cooked. My girlfriend has food poisoning and has been throwing up all day!! I would never recommend this place. Very unsanitary, a lot of cross contamination and service was terrible!!

I went to El Vaquero Mexican Restaurant with family for a birthday celebration. When we arrived, I did not expect much...just the usual Mexican fare. However, El Vaquero showed me there is no such thing as "the usual Mexican fare...especially when it tastes so good! El Vaquero Mexican Restaurant has the look and feel of a local casual joint. There were a good number of people on the patio and (fortunately for us), a few people on the inside. The friendly host showed us to our tables and got our drink orders. Our host was patient, knowledgeable, and answered all of our questions. He kept the refills, chips and salsa coming, which made our dining experience better. I ordered the "Make Your Own Combo", with a Chicken Quesadilla, Chicken Burrito and a Chicken Chimichanga. Everything including the rice and beans came out hot. The taste was remarkable! I enjoyed every bite, and even had leftovers to take home. Everyone at our table had the same reaction as mine and also had leftovers. If you ever find yourself craving quality Mexican food, please try El Vaquero Mexican Restaurant. You will be glad you did. I know I was!

We ordered carnitas dinner - with a delicious scratch made tomatillo sauce which was so much better than too-salty commercial products, nachos (without the chips so it looks like a salad in the photo) a chili relleno. The salsa was very flavorful and delicious with fresh tortilla chips. Our dinners were very good, carnitas excellent. Service was excellent. The only item I didn't care for was the chili relleno. It had only the tiniest amount of cheese in it and that had spilled out into about a tablespoon of hardened puddle of cheese (maybe had been microwaved?) and that was hiding under the sauce on the plate. So basically ate an empty cooked poblano pepper with sauce. I would not order that again, but the rest of the meal was very good so I would return again and recommend this location.

We went here for Taco Week and to celebrate some good news me friend had gotten this week. As for the celebratory aspect, the margaritas did they're job. We were there during happy hour so the jumbo margaritas were discounted. We all tried a different flavor and I really enjoyed my peach version. My friend's blue Curacao version was very strong, but it's all good, we were there to celebrate right? I arrive a few minutes after my friends and it was a chore getting my drink order taken and I requested a straw for my water that I never received, which caused me to resort to switching my lone straw between my two beverages. We were finally able to flag the waiter down to get our order, but we when received it we didn't have enough utensils for everyone in our party. I think they may have been a bit overwhelmed with the restaurant week crowd, as our server seemed a bit frazzled. The food was decent, nothing to complain about though nothing I'd necessarily crave either. We had an all around middle of the road experience.

This was my first time dining here - I had won a gift certificate in an Instagram giveaway and had never heard of this place before but I'm glad I know about it now! My party of 4 was seated right away, and a server promptly showed up and took our drink orders. I only have great things to say - we sat inside, which was smaller than most Mexican restaurants around the city. I enjoyed the coziness. The patio looked very welcoming and it appeared it could open into the inside on warm days. Our server was attentive with refilling waters. Drinks and food came out quickly. Chips were hot & fresh, the salsa had a good flavor, and the queso was perfect. I order the carnitas platter, which came with rice, beans, pica de gallo, lettuce, guac, and flour tortillas. Plenty of food, and it came out hot and tasted great! 2 of my friends ordered margaritas and said they tasted delicious, as well as the burritos and tacos al pastor they also got. If you're in Blue Ash and in the mood for Mexican food, definitely come here!

Very fast and efficient. I sat down and ordered and my food came out right after. Our waiter was very nice and was very attentive. The food was also hot and fresh! Would recommend coming here. Parking was also easy.

California burrito with Chile toreados and grilled onions. AMAZING!!!

This is my kind of place for authentic Mexican dishes. What a treat and their prices were better than the big franchise restaurants.

We had a flavorful sautéed chopped-shrimp tacos, with fresh corn-kernels, lightly-salty sharp cotija white-cheese crumbles and savory cilantro, with pepper aioli and poblano pico that we requested on the side. They had a special spicy blackened fresh-redfish tacos with fresh corn and cilantro, and with a pineapple mango pico and crema. We had one on a crisp corn tortilla, and others on flour or seared soft corn tortillas. All were flavorful and delicious. Only $4.25 each! Fresh crisp chips and salsa, too! We returned with friends and started with $3 corn tortilla chips with a somewhat spicy house-made dip. We had a creamy dip, and red salsas are also available in three levels of spiciness. We had more of the great redfish tacos, and added a $4.25 crispy crunchy panko-breaded flash-fried haddock taco, with pineapple-mango pico, crema, and cilantro. We had $5 rice, chopped onions, and tomatoes, simmered in a savory vegetable stock, topped with green onions. And lovely tender slow-simmered $5 black beans with cotija cheese and cilantro, lightly spiced with pickled peppers. And a $9.50 beautiful generous fresh mango pineapple salad with rich avocado slices, over mixed greens and red onion, sprinkled with crunchy pepitas and tangy citrus vinaigrette. I'm sure we had cold Mexican beers from their classic list, plus Rhinegeist Truth IPA, and raspberry White Claw, all around $5-$6. They had a nice cocktail list, too. Among the margaritas, we had a $11.50 sweet peach with a sugar rim. We had lots of inexpensive delicious fresh food and drink, and even the most expensive of our choices were very reasonable. Cute indoor and partially-covered outdoor seating. And one time there was a live concert just outside the Tahona Kitchen + Bar patio, and a view of wide-open Summit Park. A lovely experience!

The service is nice for what it is and the staff knows the menu and are open to substitutions which is nice. I ordered the kids taco salad, a steak fajita taco sub colby cheese and crema , donut holes , chips and salsa and the mexican coke bottle. The taco was the star of the show for me - it was delicious and I like how there was two huge hunks of steak in it instead of a shredded mess like other places - you could tell the meat was quality. The beef in the taco bowl was delicious. The only downside for me was the donut holes as I was not a fan at all - the oil they were fried in tasted a little old. The chips and salsa is delicious - the verde - OMG it's good! I just wish like others have said that it wasn't sitting out in the open. All in all I will be back since this place is delicious and affordable!

When we questioned how this was possible they told us that each shot of house tequila apparently was $9.99 and they put doubles in ours. When I asked to see the manager to protest, he said something about the menu changing or something--not really sure. All I know is that this place charged $20 per cocktail, the first beverage arrived with a dead bug in it, and the charges for these cocktails--which were fine but not swoon-worthy--was not clearly stated. Poor customer service when we politely addressed it with the manager. I do not usually post negative reviews but this seems so duplicitous and sneaky that I don't think it should be swept under the rug.
