At the Mt Zion location server Mehmoodadmin charged us for their mistake. My husband went in to get us two bowels. After he returned to the car, he explained they charged for three bowls because they put the wrong dressing on the wrong bowl, after he specifically said which one. I'm not one to leave reviews, but how do you charge someone extra for your mistake? Their excuse was it was double chicken. Double chicken or not, you messed up on the order. One positive is that the service was friendly. There was a sign outside that all day on Sunday burrito's or bowls were 2 for $15.99. I ordered 3 bowls total and said I'd like to do the 2 for $15.99 and then one extra. Sure, no problem. I didn't notice til after I paid I was charged the full price for all 3. But that's not what makes this place a hard no. The food was not even edible! Where to start.... consistent terrible service over the years yet I still go hoping it's better. Nope. Food is mediocre at best. Today i got the nacho salad, ugh, about a quart of red grease that saturated and ruined the whole thing, over saturated w 1/2 pound of jalapeños (see pic). No ice, dirty tables, did I mention the disgruntled staff that seem to hate their job and possibly their existence. Worst experience I've ever had at a Hot Head Burritos. I ordered online at 4:10 pm and selected that I wanted to pick it up at 5:25pm with curbside pickup. Fast forward to 5:25 I pull into the curbside spots and text the number as the sign says. I get a reply saying they are checking on my order but I can see the employees inside all standing around (with their masks off I might add) I then call the number on the sign and it goes to voicemail. After waiting for 10min and watching the employees inside doing absolutely nothing I go inside to find my order on the pickup shelf when I specifically said I wanted curbside. When I get back to my car I can tell my food had been sitting there for a while and when I check the receipt attached to the bag it says it was made at 4:14pm. This was 4 min after I placed the order and 1 hour and 15 min before I said I would be there to pick it up. We got takeout that we ordered online from this Hot Head location recently and it was disappointing as heck. One of the fillings we ordered for our burritos (pan-seared vegetables) was no longer available in the restaurant; this is just poor web management and is an easy fix. None of our burritos were correct; all of them were missing several fillings that we'd ordered. A few of us got fillings in our burritos that we didn't even order. These fillings are listed on the receipt, so there wasn't a glitch in their online ordering system where they didn't receive that information. Several of us had salsas that we thought were missing, but we discovered about a teaspoon's worth hiding at one end of the burrito. We essentially ended up with rice burritos with a few assorted bits of meat, beans, and cheese. The flavor of what was there wasn't bad; it just wasn't good either. The rice was bland and the minuscule amount of salsa present wasn't enough to give the burritos much flavor. The queso we ordered was similarly Okay At Best. We didn't bother trying to get return the burritos or our money back since it really wasn't worth the effort (and considering the level of incompetence involved in screwing up that badly, I don't have any confidence anything productive would've come out of that, regardless) and we were very hungry. Even if our food was correct, I doubt they would've tasted that good; the bland rice and queso are testament to that. Next time we want burritos, we'll just go someplace else. read more

What is better: 1- lots of choices for sauce What is not better: 1- like Chipotle, you can't get out cheap and full; Moe's has chips and you can get a very filling taco and chips for $3.00. I have been to Chipotle, Qdoba and Hot Heads. They are all similar. If you've been to one you know what to expect. But having said that, Hot Heads is just as good as either of those. To the person who left the tip about the puny burrito for the price....are you serious??? I am 6'2" 270 lbs. A burrito fills me up to the very comfortably full stage. We don't usually get sides so I can't comment on the price of those. If you can make it on Sundays you get two burritos for $10.99. There is no greater value on burritos. Taco's where so bad we could not finish them (and we are not picky) what little meat they put on the taco was ice cold & the shells where also cold, ask for a refund on uneaten food they would not give a refund but offered to make another one (not sure why they thought I wanted another one made out of the same meat as the first one) overpriced for what you get. I usually have a pretty good experience for the most part but when my mother came into town to have lunch I was not impressed. We were asked what we wanted by a person that obviously did not want to be at work or was having a bad day.. which happens, I get it. Then we found a place to sit and were interrupted a dozen times while trying to enjoy our food, by gnats. Not small gnats, large gnats that has been in this establishment for awhile. We had to leave this Hot Heads because we could not eat without these pesky insects ruining our lunch. I've heard much about Hot Head Burritos and their presence in the Cincinnati area, but never made it to one of their locations. Having finally been to one, and this location, I thought it was OK, and not all that impressive. Maybe I've been spoiled by Chipotle, which I still think is the golden standard when it comes to burrito fast food restaurants. I had the burrito bowl with chicken, and it was a decent portion with choice of sauces and ingredients, but I thought it was pretty bland. The atmosphere, while it was nice to have TVs, was also pretty bland, and reminded me of a Gold Star Chili place. If I had to choose between them and Gold Star, I'd go with the chili place. read more

Think Chipotle with different interior decor which is a little more trendy with multiple TV sets. The food bar looks like they took it right out of a Chipotle. The girls were friendly. Ok so me and my 9yr old son decided to go here based on a recommendation from a friend. We both love burritos an a quick way to go through a line to grab a meal is usually always a nice option. The food, Not too bad based on the cost an ambience of the atmosphere. This type of place is built on the cheaper side an we had an idea of that going in. Nonetheless the food was good, not Great but good. Some of the items/ingredients used could've been at least warm. For instance the beans where totally COLD, So was the corn an a few other things that could, and very well should have been hot where served cold. As a matter of fact the only thing warm on my burrito was their Barbacoa. Which let me tell ya, it was pretty good, probably the best thing I tasted. We also got a large container of their Queso cheese dip for the chips that come with a meal. It was a bit on the bland side but what can you really expect for this price point. To be honest, it made the burrito full of mostly cold ingredients bearable adding some very much needed warmth with each bite. Now for the not so good part. As I ordered I asked for the daily special 2 burritos for $12. my son decided that he wanted tacos which he said were delicious. I wanted to take the other burrito home to my wife for later. The gentleman who made my food was Nice and cordial, not much for smiling but it is what it is. He puts together my food as we go down the line with no issue at all and even anticipates and offers to make my 2nd burrito when we get ready to leave after he figured out that we'd be dining in. I said thank you so much that would be wonderful an he asked if I would like any Queso or guacamole on my 2nd Burrito so he could add it to the ticket so I wouldn't have to run my card a 2nd time. At the last second as he is about to put everything in to the register his manager steps in an does it as if he too incompetent to do it for himself. So he then has to rattle off what all he made to be in a rapid succession seeing as though she's basically trying to hurry him along. He tells her everything and even adds the caveat about the burrito being made when we get done along with the fact that I won't be getting Queso on the 2nd burrito. She rings me up for $26 and all seems well. We sit down finish our food then I go up to have the 2nd burrito made so we can leave. The other guy had left or was on a break so the manager was going to have to do it apparently. As she washes her hands I tell her the 1st few items I'm going with an when she makes it to the Queso she says, I can but I'll have to charge you for it. I remembered the guy had added it so I bring my receipt back up with me when I got it but that didn't matter to her. no matter what it said or what she stood right there an witnessed her employee saying, I was gonna have to pay for the queso that I already had paid for. I could see and not to mention Feel that the woman was going to make an issue of it so I didn't persist, I simply went on down the line after being bombarded by her sneers and snotty attitude an got the only thing that was going to be given without causing a fuss or possibly a scene. So in conclusion, if you are here in Florence on 280 Mt. Zion Rd and want a nice thrashing along with or after your meal, pop on into Hot Heads Burritos. You won't Regret it. read more

Been wanting to write this up and decided now was best time being it appears to of declined. -Food Cost; I understand food cost metrics are important in the food industry but geez, this place has taken it a bit too far I'd say. I ordered a chicken bowl and received a bowl of rice with a very very small small portion of chicken. Portions are inconsistent. Might be a good idea to measure portions to promote consistency. -Staff & Professionalism; the Florence Hot Head staff could be a little nicer and engaging. Staff appears to not want to be there. -Food; The bowl of rice was cold and my first bite had a hair so in the garbage it went. Won't be back anytime soon! Once again, this continues to be the stingiest burrito place on the planet. The girl put a tiny little pinch of meat on my wife's burrito. The girl knew it was a small pinch and even attempted to grab a little more with the tongs, but kept dropping it. She gave up and moved down to the salsas. My wife asked her if she could get just a bit more meat and the girl obliged. She got just little bit more. It was disappointing that the girl made sure that my wife was charged for double meat.
