Traveled to this spot because of Instagram. I ordered the fried shrimp bang bang sauce and fried shrimp fried rice. The cashier was kind and attentive. I believe his name is Yabou (I hope I'm not messing it up). He was kind to offer a sample of the shrimp and the sauce. I was sold. The shrimp was fried and crispy. I made the mistake to have them add the green onions but next time I won't get them. I'm not a big fan of green onions. The only thing that I noticed is that the rice had too much oil for my liking. This food was so good. The rice was well seasoned and had onion and green onion and ample shrimp in it. The place was clean and had a few tables to sit down. My husband loved his bang bang shrimp fried rice. I'm allergic to seafood so I went with the chicken fried rice. The only thing they don't tell you is that ALL of the fried rice is made with shrimp no matter what. So I had to bring my food back and order something else. My husband was completely done eating when I walked up to tell them they could just keep my food because we needed to go. That's when they found that it had been made, but never given to me. I'm sure my husband will want to stop in and grab fried rice from time to time, but there really isn't anything for me except fried chicken strips and fries.. My company caters lunch from time to time for office birthdays/anniversaries and monthly meetings. More often than not we order from Hot Food Express. Hot Food Express is an interesting place. I have dined in with coworkers before and the menu is just a little bit all over the place. It's almost like it's not sure what it wants to be. They do a bit of everything here from fried fish to chicken to egg rolls and Cajun style fried rice. It's kind weird but it works somehow since every time I pass this place it is PACKED. When we get lunch catered here we always get a large pan of the shrimp/crawfish fried rice, fried fish with their homemade tarter (very good) and egg rolls. The fried rice is slam packed full of shrimp and crawfish but I wouldn't call this authentic fried rice. It does contain eggs but it's not fried in a wok with them. It's more like they are scrambled in a different pan then sprinkled on top. It also doesn't contain the traditional veggies of carrots and peas, but onions and bell peppers and jalapenos. Again, not traditional but very good and more than enough to feel a large crowd! Their fried fish are good, but a little bland. If you don't have some Tony's stashed in your desk drawer like I do (then I can't be your friend or visit your office for lunch:) you may want to invest in some. The eggrolls are just ok, nothing worth wasting your calories on. I know we are going to keep using HFE for our lunches. They are affordable and friendly not to mention very generous with the portion sizes. read more

The chicken was delicious, tender, just good. The rice was plentiful, hot and fresh, had shrimp in it. Yum. And now the sauce on top. OH MAN! It reminded me of a kind of sweet creamy type of sauce, like McDonald's "special" sauce, BUT 1000X better. Just a light and creamy, but FULL of flavor with a little kick of spice. Not too spicy, just a little kick. It's just amazingly good. And the amount they gave me, wow. My friend ate all of his, but I could barely eat half of mine.
