Great customer service, fun selection! SO many different styles for my wonky feet! I love everything about this store!

Whew! Tiny shoe store! Packed with shoes and people! Not wheelchair accessible. We got out of there really quickly. The other yelpers are right-too packed and too small of a place to shop. The shoes aren't really my style anyways. But to be fair I saw some cute socks. They had two bench inside but it was too crowded that all I wanted was to be out of there. Glanced at some shoes and they're overpriced and they look uncomfortable. The guy that welcomed us was very friendly though and I guess roughly would've been a good help if I tried on some shoes-I guess I'll never know. read more

The hideous woman working the register came out from behind it to make a big show of following me around tidying up whatever was near where I was browsing. When I went to leave, she was standing next to the door. I said thank you, to which she very pointedly looked me down and up before snapping "enjoy your day." What was that?? I came planning to buy shoes I'd seen in the window last night, but I couldn't hand that woman money without feeling undignified. (On the bright side, I took the money I'd budgeted for that store and got not one but two art pieces from the Craft Gallery. All y'all should make sure to stop in there. ) read more

I bought my favorite pair of shoes ever here at a great bargain. They are a pair of very sturdy cute L'arteste Booties. Not only is the merchandise to die for but the store itself is very homey and aesthetically pleasing. The small size gives it a small town communal feel. The thing I love most is definitely the employees though. Every time I've come in (I window shop a lot) everyone has been so kind even, recognizing me on occasion, somehow everyone on staff I've met dresses so nicely too? It makes me trust their opinion more whenever I'm indecisive. The manager is especially helpful and nice I never feel like I'm being rushed out of the store which is usually common with surrounding stores. If I could sleep there I would. read more

We went into the store looking for shoes. There's a huge giant gumball machine next to the cash register. I put in 25 cents and nothing came out. I told the employee that the machine ate my money , she said sorry. At that point I asked for another quarter to see if it worked She refused to give me 25 cents. I asked her how she would know whether it was broken or not unless we put another quarter in to test it. She said she would not do it. Is this a sly way to make a few extra buck? stated that the gumball machine was owned by the store, collecting peoples money. For all I knew they've been doing this for years. Tiny shop packed to the gills with SHOES. Typically my kinda place except that it's always typically also packed to the gills with PEOPLE! The shop is too tiny to comfortably try anything on, typically you end up doing some one-legged crane stance in a dusty corner to try to get anything on...forget the whole model-walk back and forth in front of a flattering mirror, that ain't happening here!! They do have an overabundance of flip-flop inventory, which is fun and fabulous at the same time since it is a small beach town. Got my better half some new Reef flip-flops since his old ones have seen MUCH better days and long before me if you can believe they are that old....and some cutie toddler flip-flops for our substitute child, aka our friend's cute little 1 year old. Who knew that they made flip-flops that small? So fun. The gals here are friendly and will help you try to get something down from the uttermost top row of the shoes and tirelessly bring you different sizes while you perfect your one-legged crane in the corner. I just wish this place was bigger...with a little more ambiance and some hot tea...oops am I getting ahead of myself?! read more

This shoe store has some cute but overpriced shoes. Capitola is a very nice but can be a tourist trap like most places by the ocean are. The place is very tiny and has always been packed every time I checked it out. Today we took my mom and dad here. My mom came in with me to the store and we both overheard a teenage or twenty something year old female say out loud to her coworkers: "I hope no one asks me for help, because I don't want to help you". She laughed obnoxiously afterwards along with a few other of her slacker coworkers. They kept on making remarks about how they wish they could say this or that to customers but said that if they did, they'd get fired. I wonder how these bums managed to get hired in the first place? If they hate their job so much, they should find something not related to customer service work. I used to work in retail before and have dealt with people I'd rather not who were sometimes real buttheads who I would've loved to have cussed out, but have never made such obnoxious comments in front any customers before. We walked out right after that since it was clear they wanted to be left alone to gossip and talk shit about the people who could clearly hear them. I'm suprised no one said a word to them. I hope the owner finds out what idiots they are soon and fires them. I guess they were all pissed that they were stuck there when most of their friends were out at the beach or out doing something fun, lol! read more

Need some great earthy working shoes with a sexy twist? They also have a wall of surpringly sexy shoes that are great for work or a night on the town! Some of them have beads buttons and oodles of straps. Don't be shy to dig through the sale bin either! Last weekend I scored 3 pairs of REALLY gorgeous leather summer sandals and a pair of Espadrilles for $45! YAH! All 3 for $45 including the tax, my friends! I purchased some sandals today at Hot Feet. They were marked $72. Which I paid. I walked next door to their sister store called Big Kahuna. Same pair of sandals were marked "on sale" at $58. I asked the person to honor the $58 price. He consulted the guy at Hot Feet who had sold me the sandals. The Hot Feet guy said the $58 was a mistake and they wouldn't honor that price. Big Kahuna guy thanked me for bringing it to their attention. Um, you're welcome and you're welcome for the review, I hope the review doesn't cost you more than $14. read more

Teal and the Hot Feet team are great! Incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgable. I bought a pair of MIA sandals there and very much enjoyed my experience. I had been searching for the perfect pair of black sandals for months, so it says a lot that Hot Feet had the exact aesthetic for which I was looking. Less than 3 weeks later, the strap ripped, which bummed me out big time, since I was so in love with my new sandals. I started by reaching out to MIA themselves to ask for a refund or exchange, but they said to contact the retailer. I immediately called Hot Feet, and Teal was incredibly kind and compassionate about my situation. He reassured me that he'd do anything in his power to help me out. I emailed him a few photos of my ripped sandals, and within a few days, he mailed me a brand new pair. This is the kind of local, community-focused business we need more of in the world. Thanks soooooo much, Hot Feet! I'll definitely swing by during my next Capitola visit :) read more

I went to this store after probably 20 years of not going to capitola but it was my birthday and I remembered this store . I tried on a cute shoe in the center of the store and immediately knew I wanted them and asked the guy working to get them for me. Well he got them for me alright! He went to the back and then grabbed one from the window said it was the last pair( guess he wanted to get rid of them) and gave me 10% off because the one in the window was slightly faded ( totally his idea)! He told me they were final sale which I agreed to believing they were my size of course! Well I think you can see where I'm going with this! I just figured out a week later that he gave me a size smaller so they don't fit and the one I tried in the store was perfect! I frantically called them and asked informed them of the mistake but since the guy put final sale on them they said I could NOT exchange them even though it was their error! I paid almost $90 for those shoes they are absolutely not worn it's only been a week and they said the owner does not care! I guess she has money to throw away but I don't! I even offered to pay full price forget the discount I just want shoes that I asked for in my size! Too much to ask! They know how to ruin a birthday!!! Beware don't go in there there are many shoes store you can get those shoes anywhere I know I'm a shoe shopper! Enter at your own risk! I will never go back to this store and that was the first place I wanted to go was there on my birthday trip! They don't treat their customers fairly I never ever wrote a review but had to write this one after I just got ripped off! Heed my warning! They are ruthless! She must be a miserable person and wants her customers to be miserable also! Job well done!! read more
