This place is AWESOME and used in several movies. Killer Klowns from Outer Space was filmed in Santa Cruz where the original location is! Best lemonades on the planet and their cheese dogs are the best! Their fries are off the hook too! I wish the one in Tracy didn't have to close, but due to the stupid pandemic it did. I'd love to work here. Great company and great people. I love how all the girls squash all the lemonade in front of the guests. Even better when the guys do it! The best lemonade in the central valley...maybe the world! While the hot dogs (corn dogs) and french fries are great, what really sets this place apart is the lemonade. They come in 3 different flavors (regular, cherry lemonade, and limeade) as well as a lite version and frozen versions (like slurpees). The lemonades are made fresh in the store...usually in the front so you can see them hand stomp them...it doesn't get more fresh or natural than that. And yes, the lemonade really taste really good. Best of all, if you buy a large drink and save/bring back the cup, you can get refills for just $2 (over 50% savings)! I only wished they did chicken nuggets on a stick or full size funnel cakes, then this place will be perfect :) read more

I love the corndogs (eventhough they are $5!!) and lemonade ($3.50). Really when I have an extra 10 walking through the mall they are the ones to go to.. I hardly ever get the corndog and most often just walk away with a lemonade. I do feel bad for the seriously harsh outfits that wouldn't even look good on kate moss let alone anyone. So, I remember back in the day when Hot Dog on a Stick was located half way between the current food court and Sears. Back then it was a place that I never really visited except to see them make the lemonade. I thought it was hilarious how hard they would pound the crap out of those lemons! It also helped that they usually had a pretty girl doing the pounding. But, times have changed and so have hiring laws. No longer can you discriminate and hire only the pretty girls to pound the lemons. Now you have to hire any pimply-faced teen that comes along looking for a job. This I suppose is more fair, and the ugly side of progress. Another ugly side of progress is the people that line up there. Most of them are the people that just want a quick something-or-other to fill their tummy, but then there are the moms and thier heards of children. Oh how disgusting this place can get when you see a woman and her 4 kids all pushing deep fried hot dog meat into their cake-holes. Honestly though, the only thing that this place has going for it is the lemonade, and even that barely qualifies. There are certainly better food options in Vintage Faire, so unless you want some lemonade, steer clear and find somewhere else to eat. read more

Cheerful attitude and fast service with a smile, those two are the ONLY reason why I keep coming. The food here is addictive, the hot dog on a stick is made with a delicious Nathan's all beef hot dog, double dipped in a super moist batter, then fried to golden brown perfection. The french fries here are also noteworthy for sure, they are fresh shoe string style; fried to a light crisp with optional salt on the side. The fried cheese was something new and different, not bad at all but I think I would stay with the hot dog on a stick. The French fries were made when we ordered and not just sitting under a heat lamp like so many other places, cooked perfectly! The gal working was so nice! She offered samples and was very patient with us while we ordered! I bet it has something to do with the fact they are 100% employee owned! I am a regular customer who goes about two times a month to this location. Every employee is always kind, helpful, and the food is great. I went to the store the other day when it was about to close and the two employees behind the counter did not rush to leave early and stopped what they were doing in order to get my order ready in a timely fashion while still maintaining great quality . So many workers will obviously try and leave early when it is near closing time or won't pay proper attention to their service, but the two employees were the exact opposite of what I usually see at fast food facilitates. It was a young man named Fermin and the other worker was named Sayson (spell check please!) To say the least, the food was as good as always and I will certainly be back hoping to be helped by these two employees again! Both of these employees were exceptional and deserve either a raise or a promotion! Good job! read more

I have been going to hot dog on a stick since I was a kid, I have always enjoyed great service and equally great food at whatever location I have been to. Unfortunately this hot dog on a stick in the vintage faire mall located in Modesto was just a dreadfully unpleasant experience. Usually the long line moves extremely fast and efficiently, being helped out by nice employees, unfortunately today wasn't the case. I went in at around 5 O'clock today, being Friday the 23rd. The line was extra long and there were only two younger girls working, they were both talking and laughing to each other extremely loud and obnoxiously, it was extremely unprofessional and repulsive that two girls working were being so loud and annoying when their was a large line of hungry customers. After waiting way to long for the size line I was in a dark haired girl who's name eludes me took my order, she was nice but took my order wrong. I wanted four pepper jack cheese dogs, I was helped out and then she asked for my name, once I told her, I waited and sat down at hot dog on a sticks seating area. After about five minutes of waiting and observing I was incredibly disappointed. The employee cooking my food, later to find out her name was Valerie, was a short rude blonde girl, she would make jokes with the other one, whispering in her ear, this gave away that she was making fun of people, it was especially obvious when a Hispanic man came up and got his food, they exchanged words and he walked off, after Valerie went up to her fellow employee and whispered and pointed at the man, making rude faces and then laughing. She would yell and jump around like a small child. After waiting another five minutes I asked if my food was ready, rudely she screamed "who are you?" I showed her my recite and she gave me my cold food, later I would find out that they gave me four American cheese dogs rather than what I wanted, the pepper jack. Her name tag stated she had been working there since 2006, this is incredibly sad and disappointing. It's a shame that someone who's been working at a place probably a third of her life was so unprofessional, rude, loud, and obnoxious. I question the leadership and management of that staff, whoever is in charge was not there today. After I threw away my cold food I went to Panda Express. The line was quick, food was correct and they were very professional. I wouldn't recommend hot dog on a stick in the vintage faire mall to any of my friends. It is a very undertrained poorly managed establishment, that needs a true manager, or management team. read more
