Hot Bennys helped me check an item off my NOLA bucket list, BUT I do not think they offer the best beignets in the area. The cost was a bit high (~$7 after tax for 3) for the small size of the beignets and taste. They were HOT and fresh and extremely messy so be careful so you don't get powdered sugar everywhere or burn the roof of your mouth/tips of your fingers trying to have one. It was warm inside the restaurant. Fans were blowing but it almost felt like the AC was out. The restaurant is cute on the inside and they are cashless. Overall, it is worth trying for yourself, but I found that there were other options on Canal street that gave me a better bang for my buck.

We stayed at the Double Tree Hotel, right behind this spot. I was up early and went in to get a coffee and try their beignet. Cute little place, taht has an outdoor seating area. It took a while, with no line, so I assume they were fried up fresh. The latte was good, and the beignet were hot and fresh, on the small side and the most expensive of all of the beignet that I had on my trip. I also saw that they served bloody Marys.

Went for coffee and of course Beignets! Cute little coffee shop with wonderful, hot, and fresh beignets! Couple tables and chairs outside for outdoor seating as well as inside! My barista was very nice and friendly! While in New Orleans this is a must try!!

Stopped here briefly on the way home on a late night right before they closed. We had a bloody Mary, coffee, and some beignets. I would say the beignets are comparable if not better than what I had at Cafe du Monde. I am sure its better during the day.

Soo yummy

Very good beignets here!!! If you are in the area come try Hot Benny's by Canal Place. It's really clean inside and they play really good music! It's also very clean inside here! The coffee is bomb! I ordered the hazelnut coffee with oatmilk and it was good!! Very fresh and flavorful! The beignets were the best too, and actually better than Cafe de Munde in my opinion!! Very soft and fresh! I highly recommend here !! I will come back here when I return!

Trying another beignet place. Hee

This was my first time at this particular beignet café. It was walking distance from our hotel, and I wanted to try another style of beignet. The dough wasn't as fluffy as the ones we had in the French Quarter, and they didn't have as much powdered sugar, but they were still tasty. I still rather go to the one in the French Quarter, the traditional/main one I guess. I wrote a review on them as well. Inside this little café, it was incredibly warm, which was great because it was freezing cold outside and they were tables and we were able to bring some tables from the outside inside to sit on them. We had a large group of 10 so it was nice that the café was accommodating for us. Everything was delicious and made in a timely matter and I wouldn't mind coming back here again. Coffee was also a little dark for my stomach but if you dip the beignets into it, it wasn't that bad. Lol.

Good little beignet shop with very limited seating. About 10 tables inside and out. But great for people that are just wanna grab them and go. Very limited menu basically beignets and coffee drinks. The beignets.come out hot and fresh. Excellent taste. They come in a set of 3 to a bag. As in all beignets.they are covered in powdered sugar. Not like cafe Simon's, so they are easier to handle without getting covered in it. They are also smaller than the ones at Café Dumont, but three was a perfect size for breakfast. Crisp on the outside and super soft and fluffy on the inside. Staff was very nice

They make the beignets right there while you wait. Excellent of course. It's a small place, clean though. Service was good. I didn't understand the default taxrate of 11%. Maybe that's a city tax. I didn't ask. In & outdoor seating.

Was feeling lazy and didn't wish to walk the extra 3 blocks to café Du monde--mistake! Benny's were not great = more doughy, served waaaay to hot and more expensive. In a pinch, I would not go back, I would go without and save the calories for something else.

This place has the most amazing beignets!!! I discovered Hot Bennys on a recent trip to New Orleans. It was so good I went there two days in a row! You can get three beignets for a pretty reasonable price and their coffee selection is also very good! I really enjoyed the vanilla lattes. This is a must visit if you are in New Orleans!!! Its very close to the convention center and in walking distance to many hotels.

We ran in here for a quick coffee and some beignets. The space was clean and the staff member was friendly and efficient. We had the house coffee and it was really good. We also had an order of the beignets and they were a great size and tasted fantastic. Hot Bennys is conveniently located to a lot of area hotels and they have a very cute courtyard seating area. We had a great experience there.

OhEmGee!!! I am so happy I found Hot Benny's. Lemme fill you in on the goodness I experienced. I have been in NOLA for a week and haven't had any Dunkin at all. I've been forced to drink hotel coffee the whole week and I want to cry. As I was walking up the street I saw Benny's and decided to give it a try. The shop is super cute. Small, cute, lots of natural light and the store is super clean. I walked up to the counter and placed my order. Though it wasn't my usual Dunkin order I was excited to try something new. I ordered a "Benny's Brew" which is the famed New Orleans chicory coffee. Now, don't judge me but I had to add in a few pumps of Vanilla. The way the shop is set up, you add your own cream and sugar. As such, I walked over to the counter, added my milk and sugar and took my first sip. Whew! Is what comes to mind. The brew was fresh. The flavor profile was exciting and def has a twist. According to my research the twist is the best part of the coffee itself. "Unlike coffee being made from the coffee beans; chicory coffee is made from the roots of the flowering chicory plant. This blue flowered plant is a part of the dandelion family and can be found in several parts of the world." I had no idea about the origin of the coffee. I am so excited that I had the chance to experience the coffee and partake in a part of the culture. Oh yeah, you know I had to order me some beignets. Babeeeeeeeeeeeee!! The beignets were the BOMBBBBBBBBB Hot. Fresh. Flavorful. Crispy on the Outside. Chewy on the Inside. And most of all, they hit the spot. Flavor wise, as I am from up North, they put me in the mindset of like a mini Fried Dough but with a Puff Pastry aesthetic. Yasssssssssssss. These are def a win!! Overall, my experience at Hot Benny's was ahhhhhhhhhmaaaaaazinggggggggg and I will def be back before I leave. LoL!!!! If you're near Hot Benny's, Get you some!

Alexis R.

I've been to Hot Benny's twice and honestly it isn't worth the price. The beignets are very small and oddly hollow on the inside when you bite into one, not the pillowy, doughy texture you'd expect if you're used to Cafe du Monde. View my photo for reference. They also aren't served with enough powdered sugar. The hot vanilla latte tasted too milky and the coffee itself didn't taste good. As a local, I really wanted to like it--especially for the convenient downtown location when I'm running errands or have appointments nearby--and the appealing aesthetic. The food and beverages don't live up to the aesthetic and branding. I wouldn't recommend if you're seeking quality beignets and coffee downtown.

If breakfast had a personality, Café Fleur De Lis would be that effortlessly charming friend who…read moresomehow wakes up looking perfect and already has coffee brewing. We went all in: shrimp and grits that were downright phenomenal (I'm still thinking about them), a goat cheese omelette that was so good it made me question all my past breakfast decisions, and pancakes with berries that tasted like they were made by someone who genuinely cares about your happiness. The coffee? Strong enough to fix your life. The service? Warm, attentive, and somehow psychic--they just knew when we needed refills or another mimosa (which, for the record, felt less like a drink and more like a lifestyle choice). Honestly, this place doesn't just serve breakfast--it gives you a reason to get out of bed. 10/10 would wake up early again... and I do not say that lightly.

Our goal every year is to find somewhere new, and Cafe FDL definitely fit the bill this year. There is quaint seating on the first and second floor, and it feels like there's not going to be enough room, but the wait isn't bad. The service was quick and attentive, and the food was hot and filling. The alcohol was... alcohol. What's there to say about that? Price wise, it was reasonable, and it was filling enough that I wasn't hungry when I left, nor was I ill-prepared for any shenanigans that the say might bring. Definitely a solid choice for breakfast in the Quarter. Not fancy, but filling!

Still a New Orleans Gem - Visitor since 2018!…read more I'm updating my review as of April 2026 because it's important for visitors to know that The Vintage has absolutely "still got it." My last review was in 2020, and I'm happy to report that the quality and atmosphere remain top notch. Whether you are looking for a morning pick up or an evening wind-down, this spot covers all the bases. Their beignets and coffee are a classic must have, and I can personally vouch for their Americano. It is consistently well made and delicious. They also have a great selection of beer and cocktails if you're looking for something a bit stronger. What really sets this place apart, though, is the hospitality. We have always had great interactions with the staff, but a special shout out goes to Jimmy, whom we met this past week. He was incredibly kind and hospitable, truly making us feel right at home. Jimmy if you are reading this, THANK YOU!! If you want a spot that feels authentic, welcoming, and consistently excellent, put The Vintage at the top of your list!

The menu has many choices. I ordered the firecracker shrimp with side arugula salad. The shrimp was yummy the salad too but expected more on the salad maybe cucumber or tomatoes over all for just having cheese on Arugula with dressing was ok. I paired it with the shrimp and it was tasty! According to the hop on/off bus the beignets & champagne are the hit at this cafe. The bartender made a wonderful cocktail with champagne & it was delicious! The spot is dog friendly & in a cute little restaurant/bar row & shops area.
