Really delicious bagels and all kinds of sandwiches. Very nice staff and friendly too. read more

Poor counter help. Call me silly but I don't want my sandwich with a side of their poor Rude Nasty service. Way too many competitors in the area to have counter help that's killing your business I will not return, ever. I literally told him to keep the sandwich and walked out. No thanks! read more

Hot Bagels Abroad - ONLY fresh bagels here made daily - Bagels Near Me - Hackettstown, New Jersey

First time used that fake American cheese second order bite into egg shell place crazy

Always satisfied with breakfasts and lunches purchased here especially bacon, egg and cheese on a pumpernickel and staff is friendly and attentive. read more

I enjoy the bagels and bagel sandwiches served hot here. The atmosphere is kind of "hole-in-the-wall-ish", but service is pretty quick and you can sit at one of five or six tables in the shop. Not fancy ambiance, but very tasty bagels. Thanks. read more

They have the most rudest associate. Waiting in line four customers ahead us me when a lady walks in and I thought she was just looking at what selection she was going to make . The rude one said can I help who's next and the lady who cut in line steps up , I say excuse me I was next and she ignored me then a nice young lady came over to help. I pointed out that I was next and then the rude one there is plenty of us to help you and that I was rude and I could have been nice. When I stated from now on I will take my business else where she said good get out. She never is nice when I go in there and she never gets my order correct. I never say anything because it is busy but today she was way out of line . She should have told the customer that cut sorry there is a line and they have been waiting there were people behind me as well. Don't even what to give one star but for the young lady that was nice read more

Best bagel I had in Jersey! I love how they cook the eggs and they weren't shy with the bacon. Wanted to take a dozen home but don't think they'd have made it. We ordered ahead and they were ready right away! Inside it's a classic deli style with not a ton of seats so i recommend to go! read more

Hot Bagels Abroad - Bacon egg and cheese - Bagels Near Me - Hackettstown, New Jersey

Fresh bagels and fast service. Breakfast sandwiches were hot and tasty. Great place for morning breakfast.

$7 for a cream cheese bagel and a drink. Absolutely ridiculous. They're robbing customers.

$7.13 for a plain bagel with cream cheese and an Arizona tea. What a ripoff. In what world is that acceptable?

Really need to teach your employees food safety as far as handling cash with gloves on and then grabbing food. It's just disgusting and not sanitary read more

I will never go back to Hot Bagels Abroad. A young man next to me ordered three bagels toasted with cream cheese. The older lady forgot to toast them and he politely said something. The woman dramatically throws the bagels into the garbage and says, "F@ck this kid." I heard it and I am sure the boy did as well. After she unceremoniously hands him the bagels he asks for a bag. The lady questions him as to why he wants it. He tells her in case he does not eat all the food. Begrudgingly, she hands him the bag. The boy sits at the table and starts eating. Not a single thing that kid did was rude but the woman says to her coworker that she was close to kicking the boy out. I should have said something or at least cancelled my order. I have never witnessed such unprofessional behavior. She was an adult and he was just a kid. Unacceptable. read more

Terrible place hands down! Didn't even get served before an elderly gentleman lashed out at me saying "he's been waiting for over an hour to get served and I'm going first". As I backed up and understood his frustration, the workers behind the counter looked at him and I like we were from Mars. It's nice to know that because of their terrible customer service, others will get screamed at for no apparent reason. You're better off going to McDonald's. read more

Unfortunately, although the food is decent, HBA isn't following any social distancing guidelines or CDC regulations regarding open containers of food. We watched this basket of bagels sit on the counter with no lid or barrier for at least30 minutes. People stood over it, talked over it, passed money over it, and even touched the bagels... and then the bagels were sold to customers. Even without a pandemic, this would be pretty gross. read more

I have now ordered at least 3 times requesting no onions on my turkey lettuce and mayo sandwich. the first two times I did not select onions but they just decided to put them on it. the last time I put in caps PLEASE NO ONIONS and still got onions. I think the employees need to be taught how to read. insane. should I request onions to get no onions?? read more

Just got an order to go. I ordered a toasted onion bagel with nova lox, cream cheese, tomato and red onion. I got a plain bagel not toasted with nova lox cream cheese, lettuce and tomato. My husband ordered a pastrami Reuben in a toasted rye bagel with mustard. He got a pastrami sandwich on a toasted rye bagel no mustard. This is very poor. read more

I love their bagels. Good price. Everyone is always friendly. Best place to get a nice warm bagel.

If you want the best bagels and sandwiches then this is the place for you. Service is great always friendly and smiling staff.

This is a very busy place with a lot of young people working there. They are very organized & professional & is run very well. Bagel are decent. We have been here many times for egg sandwiches or lox on a bagel & they always get the order right & the food is good! read more

Stopped in on a Saturday morning for two breakfast sandwiches. Taylor ham egg and cheese on an everything bagel and a Bacon egg and cheese on a roll. The place was packed but to our surprise the wait time was less than five minutes. Unfortunately, this was the worst breakfast sandwich we've had in a long time. $7 per sandwich with one piece of meat does not sound fair. We tried to eat them in the car as soon as we got them but found out everything was cold and under done. Unfortunately we ended having to cook it ourselves at home. I do not recommend this place. read more

Hot Bagels Abroad - a bagel sandwich on a plate - Bagels Near Me - Hackettstown, New Jersey

Have started getting bagels for breakfast when I can. So much better and cheaper than going to Dunkin or Starbucks.

Been here multiple times but for whatever reason the past 3 times over the past few months my order has ALWAYS been wrong! First 2 times I just left it be, because I felt bad they were getting such bad feedback from people publicly on Facebook (even though I could eat it because it had cheese on it) but this morning I called and the girl who answered literally just said she isn't a high enough level to do anything to fix it. And that she'd let the man on the grill know the order wasn't done right. Then after an awkward 20-40 second pause she goes "Yeah, well. Sorry about that, hopefully next time it's right". And then hung up. Will take my money elsewhere. read more

Hot Bagels Abroad - Not to mention the bacon looks disgusting! - Bagels Near Me - Hackettstown, New Jersey

Rude. The lady at the counter treated us like we were complete morons. Felt super rushed. We've never been here before and we will never come back. You have to ask them to heat up other wise they will give you a cold bagel. Even if you order a breakfast sandwich it is served cold. read more

I truly, deeply wish NJ grill cooks would have their meat section on the grill in a different place than everything else. My egg bagel tasted completely like pork roll and a tiny piece of it even fell out. They've gotten orders wrong on more than one occasion too. They just happen to be conveniently located. read more

Its easy, if your going to be open during the virus out break you should be wearing a mask. The younger girl behind the counter COOKING cant seem to get that. On top of that theres a man walking around in the back with his mask hanging off of one ear. Id say something needs to change here but it seems to be a family owned business with just family working together so I'm sure nothing will chance.. besides customers not coming anymore read more

Stopped there today. Told the girl, egg white sandwich on a whole wheat bagel, spinach, turkey sausage and cheddar cheese. I repeated it. I even asked if they have turkey sausage, she said yes. What did I get? Plain bagel, a chunk of cheddar cheese that wasn't melted and the worst part....a slice of deli turkey! That's right, NOT TURKEY SAUSAGE but a slab of deli turkey breast. I almost vomited when I bit into it. read more

This place was amazing when I was a teenager and the Nardinos ran the show! Miss you Art, Art jr. And mike!

Nice variety of items on the menu. However, they screwed up one of our orders. Not the best we've had, but also not the worst.

This is a classic New Jersey bagel spot. Wide range of products for breakfast and lunch all made very well by their friendly staff. Grab your morning coffee or take your lunch break here. The place rocks and I appreciate them. My item: turkey sausage egg white and cheese sandwich on a toasted whole wheat bagel. Oh yeah daddy. Bring it. read more

I agree with the other posts - there are many young people working there who are not experienced, as a result the service is absolutely horrible, unorganized, orders are wrong (jalapeno pepper cream cheese instead of scallion cream cheese!), the manger never apologizes for mistakes, instead suggests we phone the order in, the store is a dump. There is a wonderful opportunity in Hackettstown for a bagel store to provide quality bagels, in a clean environment, with friendly and competent service at a fair price. I look forward to the opening of that bagel store soon. read more

I have been a loyal customer of Hot Bagels Abroad for years, but after my visit today it saddens me to say that I will no longer be giving them anymore of my business. I walked into the store this morning only to witness one of their employee's dipping a torn piece of bagel (with glove-less fingers) into a shared workstation container filled with cream cheese. This is the station directly in front of the cashiers - where customer's bagels are cut, toasted, and made to order. I was not sure if she had torn the bagel with her hands or mouth, but nonetheless, she removed her mask to then eat it directly in front of me and other customers, not once but TWO different times. She was basically eating her breakfast as she was working and taking guests orders. We are in the middle of a pandemic and the cleanliness of the establishment should be a crucial step of service in maintaining a healthy work environment for both employee's and customers. If the management is okay with letting customers see this type of unprofessional behavior, I can only imagine what we DON'T see them doing. Do they wash their hands after using a bathroom facility? Do they use masks and gloves when making the bagels and spreads in the morning? Do they follow any health department protocols or is it a free for all? To say the least, I was so disgusted with witnessing this that I felt it necessary to share my experience with the community. I hope the review does something to inspire a change for the sake of other potential customers. read more

We love this local bagel place!!! Baked fresh and delicious!!! Breakfast sandwiches are amazing and the lunch specials are delicious.

Nov 2020 I visited the bagel shop this morning and was horrified with the food handling that had taken place. I witnessed someone come in off the street and walk behind the counter (without washing hands) help themselves to a coffee and bare-handed reach into the bagel basket and got a bagel. Additionally, I watched the counter staff handle food bare-handed as well. I had plenty of time to witness many more improper food handling techniques since we had to wait 30 minutes for bagels to be cooked. I spoke with the owner "Pat" to let him know what was going on and he said absolutely nothing as I told him we would never visit again. I also asked him if he was aware that we are in the middle of a pandemic (COVID-19). He said he knew. I only give them one star because I have to give them something in order to post this review. I strongly suggest you find another bagel shop. read more
