The hot tub was clean and easy to just turn the jets on when we wanted to use it. The cabin had everything we needed in the kitchen and bedrooms. The beds were very comfortable and they had plenty of pillows for all of us. The air mattress was surprisingly comfortable as well. It was not the standard air mattress, this one was very a thick queen size mattress. The bathrooms were huge with dual showerheads in both walk in showers. We enjoyed the corn hole game outside. We saw deer and rabbits from our patio every day. The only downside is that there is some noise from the highway when you are outside, but it didn't bother us. We will definitely return to Journey's End on our next Broken Bow trip.

Beautiful Cabin however horrible customer service from the management team at Hidden Hills…read more I love to visit Broken Bow when a small getaway is needed. We opted to rent 'Lost in the Music' from Hidden Hills. It's an amazingly beautiful 1 bedroom cabin with an upstairs loft nestled deep in the woods. The cabin cost for the weekend was $908.38. Yes, this is costly so surely 1 would expect their experience to perfect with no issues for concerns. *We arrived on Friday and within the 1st hour of settling in we discovered a dirty cookie sheet stored in the cabinet. I immediately placed it in the dishwasher as the smell was bad. I took this as a pure oversight on the cleaning crews part. *After taking a shower I noticed the water was not draining quickly. I looked down and noticed the drain was covered with brown hair. (I'm bald so this wasn't my hair). Also no one else had used the shower so this was not caught by the cleaning crew. Here's where the story gets detailed. Please note the 2 issues I just mentioned were not a big deal but I felt like they should definitely be mentioned. BTW these two incidents were mentioned to the management group via a text message when they occurred but I did not receive any response back. Back in 2014 I rented a cabin from Hidden Hills that was not clean and had many pieces of broken furniture. I shared my experience on several website only to be contacted by Angie-General Manager demanding that I remove my review. I was told they needed to be removed as they were slander. I was advised that if they were not removed she would get their legal team on me. I never removed my post as they were 100% factual and the truth. You'll notice when Hidden Hills receives a negative review it's always Angie replying back threatening legal action. She supposedly banned me at that time and black listed me with other companies. This was not true as I've rented from Blue Beaver Luxury Cabins with never any issues. As you can see in the pictures I've attached she is now threatening me again. At the end of the day I never asked for a refund or any type of credit. I was simply providing Hidden Hills feedback to ensure they knew of the concerns when it came to their cleaning crew. As you can see by the pics I was again threatened by Angie if I shared this experience. Now that I have been banned again from Hidden Hills I wanted to share this experience so you'll see what hateful management they have. Also please note this particular cabin is not safe for small children. All wkend we were in fear that my grandson fit between the wiring on the stairway. This is real concern at the landing on top of the stairwell. If you decide to visit Broken Bow please note there are SOOOOOO many other rental cabin companies that are more deserving of our hard earned money. Please note that I emailed Angie asking her to send me an apology and all would be forgiven. She refused with no response back to my request.

I hate to be effusive but, once inside, the phrases didn't stop. The cabin is at once elegant and unassuming. It's simply built and decorated in a wonderful way. I can't say enough about the quality of the craftmanship. No worries about 'pictures not matching the experience' with this property. You won't be let down and left wondering if the photos were actually taken at the place in question. Here, the photos don't do it justice. It's nestled in the woods with trees all around, but has a convenient drive up so it's not a hassle getting luggage inside. The views are stunning, and the appointments super comfortable, from the beds and linens, to the shower/bath features and amenities, to the Apple tv casting, letting me cast from my Apple phone/ipad onto the tv (we were able to download movies to our ipad then cast them to the tv for viewing). We're hoping to hop in the hot tub on our next visit! And, don't think that just because you're 'in the woods' you're cut off from civilization! There is plenty of "support services" nearby, including night spots, restaurants, and so much 'outdoorsy' stuff to do. If you're looking for a 'little cabin in the woods' that is superbly comfortable and simply a delight to look at, then you'd be hard pressed not to give this beautiful place a look.

He purchased the insurance tied to the booking just in case something came up and we needed to cancel. Unfortunately, I had complications from surgery that appeared after my husband booked the cabin. My doctor advised not to travel and wrote a letter as well as completed all the forms required by the insurance company. Although the insurance company, associated with Beavers Bend Luxury Cabin Rentals (beaversbendcabins4rent.com) received every single form they requested, signed and advised by my surgeon, they found a frivolous "out" to not refund our money. We contacted Nikki-the owner with numerous phone calls, messages, and emails asking if we could rebook for a later time, even during off season. EVERY ATTEMPT and form of communication has not been answered. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BOOKING WITH THOSE WHO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF SOMEONE WHO HAD A LIFE THREATENING SITUATION AND COULD NOT TRAVEL. We were pleasantly surprised at how clean, well maintained, and stocked it was. Exactly as advertised but even better in person especially with the extra decorative touches that made it feel so warm and inviting. We were also thrilled at the value we got for the price; coming from California, the price for a beautiful cabin like this is unheard of. Besides the cabin itself, we enjoyed use of the outdoor fire pit, jacuzzi, board games, and cornhole. A note that may be useful is that the fireplace in our cabin (which may be similar to others) was controlled by a wall mounted timer switch. Initially it seemed to not work, but it also required activating an igniter switch behind a panel below the fireplace.

During our stay, I slept in the downstairs bedroom for the first time on January 6. I woke up in the middle of the night with severe itching, and upon checking the bed, I found a live bed bug under my pillow. I also had multiple bites consistent with bed bugs, which I documented with photos. The meta data of the photo clearly shows the date and location of the photos. To be fair, the cabin itself appeared clean and well maintained, and I understand that bed bugs can happen anywhere. However, what has been most disappointing is how the situation was handled afterward. I reported the issue immediately and provided photo evidence. Management later stated that they had the cabin inspected and treated but found no evidence of bed bug activity, and based on that, they declined to issue even a partial refund. Despite my documentation and multiple follow-ups over the past two months, I have received no resolution and no further response. In addition to the experience itself, we have had to take ongoing precautions at home to avoid bringing bed bugs inside, including isolating items that could not be properly treated. This has been stressful and inconvenient long after the stay ended. I share this not out of anger, but because I believe others should be aware--both of the issue we encountered and how it was handled. If you choose to stay here, I would strongly recommend carefully checking bedding and being aware of how situations like this may be addressed. I had hoped to resolve this privately, but after multiple attempts with no response, I feel it is important to share my experience.

Quick look rating: 5/5 Quality, 5/5 Service, 5/5 Experience…read more For my 100th review of 2015, I thought it would be best to write about a great little trout fly fishing spot that's not to far from Dallas, TX. **To note: This review is written about the creek before the floods in early spring of 2015. In the spring of 2015 we had major rains and flooding in the area. The engineers for the dam had to release a large amount of water from the spillway. Downstream was a major washout. Spillway Creek is below the spillway dam at Broken Bow Lake. It is just a little over 3 hours drive time from Dallas or 20 to 25 minutes from Broken Bow, Oklahoma. The water released from this dam comes from about 2/3 to 3/4 of the way down from the top of the water. This keeps the water released cold, cold enough for trout to live for the first couple of miles to about twelve miles worth of stream before it gets to hot for trout. The spillway is stocked with trout nearly every two weeks with at least two trucks of stock trout. The Spillway Creek is on the Ouachita National Forrest and Beavers Bend State Park, and I noticed that they are doing a great job of keeping this park and wildlife area, very well maintained! Help keep this park clean, what you pack/carry in, well then carry out, thank you in advance! At the time of spring there was two nice fly fishing shops in the area, while the Dallas has some really nice fly shops to help you out as well! Some of the Fly shops in Dallas have some guides that will take you up there as well! My thoughts / suggestions: 9ft rod - 4 or 5 weight rod, 9ft leader with a 5x tippet, take 5,6, and 7x tippet spools. Flies: RS2, maybe some tiny midge nymphs. Carry a wading staff! The water can be stiff in some areas! **To note: Check with the local fly shops for what kind of fly's to use and what types of tippet and leaders are being used at that time. **Emergency Note: Always listen for any sirens in the valley / creek area. When they release water from the dam, the engineers will blow that horn/whistle. If you hear it, head to high ground IMMEDIATELY! Please keep in mind where your fellow fly fishing buddies are located! For the most part there is phone reception in the area, but double check. It is pretty good idea to go to text mode when fly fishing and keep it on vibration/silent mode. Be safe, and let others know where you are located! I'll be back!
