However, Lake Mountain Cabins is the worst management company for cabin rentals. The manager, Sheila, is a horrible woman and lacks empathy and compassion. When we booked in August 2018 they double booked the cabin and we were placed in a different cabin that luckily suited our needs. However, we booked again for Spring Break 2019 and were offered another alternate location that not only was dangerous for children (I have three small kids) but it was up numerous hills and over a very dangerously close to flooding riverbank. It had been raining and would rain more in the following days. We feared getting stuck in our minivan and not being able to come and go and enjoy our trip. Sheila did not care and all she could come up with was excuses for why this happened. She ended up telling me "You're on your own" and offered no help for the situation. I will add that the people of Hochatown came together and found us a wonderful place to stay and gave us gift certificates for places in town. They truly salvaged our vacation and I am forever grateful for them. However, I recommend no one EVER use Lake Mountain Cabins as long as Sheila is working there. I believe the son will be taking over the business soon and I hope he turns it around... I would give zero stars if possible. This is absolutely not how you run a business.

This was my second time here. My first trip I stopped by for about an hour to check it out during…read moremy day ride because I've followed Adam for awhile on YouTube. This trip I stayed the night Saturday during the Fast Life Garage Campout and it was a lot of fun. There were two food trucks on site and both were extremely tasty. I am a Combat Veteran still serving so I was able to check out the free veteran camping area. I found a great spot under one of the smaller trees, which was perfect! I used the coed shower trailer and it was air conditioned and nice to have being I was tent camping. There are mens showers located somewhere else on the property but I didn't bother looking for them because this shower trailer was closest to me. The water was hot and there were also sinks with mirrors. The lounge area at the clubhouse is beautiful at night. I sat there for about a half hour after the festivities ended Saturday night enjoying the ambiance and finishing my beverage before hitting the showers. It is very relaxing. The campground is great. It has everything you really would want to do. I want to return with my Girlfriend to possibly rent the treehouse on the river, do some kayaking, and ride the local area. Hopefully do 4 days there. I highly recommend giving them a try, you won't be disappointed. If I am able too I will be returning next year for the Fast Life Campout and if I'm lucky I'll get to return again this year.

We chose to stay in a cabin this time which was perfect for the quiet environment to rest and recharge. Each cabin has a hot tub to sit back and enjoy the beautiful Ozark mountains!! Ohhhh and the humming birds.... Great job Arkansas state parks. Our amendment 75 taxes have been put to great use!!

The looping trails vary in difficulty- from easy to more rugged and challenging. There are 3 trailheads. Laundry- only two washers and two dryers $2 per load and don't you dare use liquid or powder only expensive pods allowed. Lots of land to walk on and explore- nope had to have special permission to go out and hike, walk, and fish. Canoes and kayaks- none that we saw even asked about. WiFi- what's that?!? Dining hall to rent for events- more like storage for things. Fire ants- plenty available take some home or onto your next adventure. All gravel and potholes- be prepared to dodge these in hopes of not breaking something.

We've visited in summer and winter and plan to come back this spring. The recent upgrades, like Starlink internet, make it even better if that's even possible. The owner, Matt, is generous and so kind if you need anything he is just a call away . Plus, Mena is just a short drive away, with fun things to do like gemstone mines and scenic trails.
