We've been using Creative Escapes since they first started in business and then sold to a new owner, and we still use them. They've always been responsive to our requests. This stay was most memorable, as we were getting ready to check out and leave the cabin and accidentally locked our keys in the truck "running!" Sounds impossible -- but it's not. I called Creative Escapes just out of chance, and the girl didn't hesitate saying she would send someone over that could help. Within 35 minutes, a guy came over and used a tool and managed to open the window to allow us access!!! We were happy campers. It was a wonderful stay in Firefly Hollow (formerly Rustic Heights). My family and I have been going to Broken Bow/Hochatown for the past 10 years. I know that it has gotten very popular in recent years. This year alone I have been 3 times. We love it! This was however the WORST WEEKEND EVER! TWO NIGHTS, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT, we were awakened by a very loud party at your location - Laketime. My girlfriends and I were staying in a different cabin. Under age drinking and pot smoking were both going on. We called the Sheriff's office both Friday and Saturday nights and they were worthless! So here is the thing, the owner of the cabin we stayed at - a woman- came to our cabin at 2:00 in the morning saturday night to assist us, and whoever answered your phone, couldn't be bothered. COULDN'T BE BOTHERED. He said and I quote, "I HAVE 2 KIDS - CITY OF HOCHATOWN DOESN'T HAVE A SOUND ORDINANCE, WHAT CAN I DO?" I get it, we live in a different society, but I HAD TO SUGGEST HE CALL THE PEOPLE THAT RENTED THE CABIN - "OH YA, I CAN TRY AND FIND THEIR NUMBER". I doubt he did. I looked up your policies on your website and clearly states no parties. If you have a party - you will be asked to leave. I suggest you follow your policy in the future! I have worked in Customer Service for the past 20 years. Never in my life have I felt unheard, and unsupported. June 17-20, 2020 I stayed at "Tipsy Squirrel" with my husband and small son. I was NOT PAID, this is my honest review. I needed a small cabin as we are a small family. When I walked into the cabin it took my breath away. Immaculately CLEAN, smelling fresh, and it looked the same way it did on the website. The kitchen has ALL you need and MORE, like seriously!! Rice cooker, slow cooker, I could go on ... clean everything. NO DUST residue!!! The bathroom is small and COZY with clean fresh towels. The bed and pillows were so comfortable, clean FRESH pillows and linens. WOW! You can hear NO sounds of cars passing from the inside and there is a side road close to the cabin, for cars going up to their cabins. The back patio area with the Jacuzzi tub is so cool from the trees, serene, peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed using the jacuzzi, fire pit and grilling in the back. Lots of other cabins in close distance. "Tipsy Squirrel" is SUPER close to everything. 20 mins drive to Walmart and the Supermarket. Perfect for a couple, or a couple with 1 kid. Lots of local shops, bars and restaurants around the area. Cabin Management is awful !! I will never use this company again to rent our cabins. We normally use their competitor, not using them again was the biggest mistake. We go to Hochatown about 5-6 times a year and we have never had an awful experience. The cabin was dirty, we had a broken toilet, not enough towels, or paper towels. I could really go on and on about the lack of amenities they provided for being a "luxury cabin". Be sure to use Beavers Bend lodging, you won't regret your trip. read more

We have stayed at Natures Harmony twice now a year apart and the cabin is nice but the road getting there is terrible. It was bad the 1st time but the second time it was even worse. We rented a cabin for a 3 day weekend 4/2 - 4/4. The pictures of the cabin on the website had to have been from when the cabin was built, I'm guessing in the 80's. The cabin had broken windows, broken blinds, the hot tub did not work. The bed and furniture was old, dirty and very uncomfortable. Also, the blind for the hot tube room were broken in an area where someone outside could stand at the window and see everything due to the mirrors on the side walls... YES, that was very disturbing. I have made many attempts to contact someone at the Office, email and by phone... no reply. I would not give this place 1 star, but that is not an option. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST STAY AND EXPERIENCE EVER!!! read more

We have been to one of the lodges for 2 years now, and this will be our last. 1) We had to spend an hour cleaning off the patio so it was usable. Is this your idea of a rental experience? 2) TVs don't work. 3) ice maker doesn't work (it did last year), neither does ice dispenser in the fridge. 4) They water the property multiple times a day using septic water. It makes the patio smell like literal sh*t multiple times a day. 5) oven doesn't keep proper temperature. 6) kitchen table is weird sticky. Not dirty it's the table, both years we have noticed paper plates literally stick to the table. For spending $3,000 this is a poor experience. Also, broken bow seems to have turned into a party spot. Both trips we have had to listen to the thumping of bass from cabins in the area. read more

Never ever rent from Beavers Bend Creative Estates! We went online and booked one of their cabins that had a play area and a hot tub. The pictures online were totally inviting but nothing was as pictured or stated on their page. The play area was filthy and full of spiders and spider webs, very nice and clean in the pictures. There was a picture of a Foosball table and pool table, but they were in an area on the second floor of the cabin that made them both totally unplayable because the walls and railings on the second floor were so close that with the Foosball table 2 people absolutely could not play it because there wasn't enough room on each side of the table for a person, the pool table was even worse it made no sense as to why they were even there. The hot tub we sat in the first night was not the same hot tub in the pictures of the cabin, we got into it in the dark the control panel was broken so there was no way to tell or set the temp of the tub and it had some unusual smell and the lighting was crap. The next day after running around doing stuff we came back to the cabin in the afternoon and decided to sit in the hot tub again well... The tub had white mold floating in the tub and stringing out of the jets, didn't see it the night before because of the lack of light. We called they sent a guy he was disgusted and didn't understand why they rented this to us like it was the tub was also leaking underneath and there was more mold... We called and asked for our money back telling them that we were going home we really felt like our vacation there was done. We were not happy especially because our 3-year-old Grand Daughter sat in the tub the night prior with us exposing her to the mold in the tub. Beavers Bend Creative Estates told us they would give us only half of our money back on the condition that we didn't leave a bad review, they were actually threatened to take us to court if we did and not return any money. We loved the Bonfire View Cabin we rented through Creative Escapes. It was immaculate and had all the amenities to make it a great get-away during quarantine. Multiple decks, nice outdoor spa, decent kitchen supplies, grill supplies, clean linens, etc. The internet and cable worked well in this location. I will say that the management was so nice in the booking process, but completely unavailable when we called during our stay. The answering machine seems unattended. Brooke's Creek This is the cabin my family stayed Thanksgiving Wednesday through Saturday. First off map they sent was incorrect, after 3x through the gated area, we found our cabin. thank goodness bc patience was lacking. It was 3 hour drive from Tulsa, through the scenic route, winding roads and all. Route home- turnpike!!! Lol. House was prefect and size was great. Hot tub outside was amazing!!!! Fireplace outside my favorite also! The smell of fresh wood cabin and wood everything was the best. Beautiful view outside, had to make a trail to explore. Hot tub outside in sleep mode, instructions not clear on how to operate, we finally got to heat and go in normal mode- GOOGLE. Hot tub was highlight and the humongous deck! Kids loved game room upstairs as well. Big comfy beds! Great kitchen to work with! My family loves it all through and through. We can't wait to return next year to another cabin ! Broken Bow is beautiful! CONS; original cabin booking burned down prior to ya coming so this was the switch. Upon arrival about 5/6 light bulbs burned out throughout the house- y'all light, lamps, exterior lights, kitchen bulbs. House had speakers inside/outside but system was broke. You can tell someone just did quick walk through to make sure it was just clean at minimum. The fridge had ice maker that DID NOT WORK, sucks when you come prepared to not leave for 3 days! Horrible with no ice. We ran out of wood, so had to go to town to buy ice anyways and wood for outdoor fire. Bedrooms get cold at night, turn off living room fire place and crank up the heat otherwise u freeze bc thermostat is in kitchen close to fireplace... towel rack in bathroom fell off wall upon removing first towel, like wtf!! Master bath toilet clogged first day, couldn't plunge I used it and just #1 and flush. Bam filled up wouldn't drain, was beyond pissed. Eventually went down and just didn't use. I didn't want see a worker and unleash. Water pressure sucks in shower so takes awhile to rinse hair. Hot water tank is way too small to even fill jacuzzi tub up one time. I tried to wait and do in 2 increments but by time first fill already cold! Increase hot water tanks! Duh ! Put them badboys outside; no use in jacuzzi tub unless summer time. Bring more blankets, new sectional needed, fix door going to back deck from living room, door hard to open even for adult. Flashlights had no batteries working in them, POINTLESS! I would recommend a truck or suv roads are ROCKY & ROUGH; we had a flat the next morning!!! No joke!!! Yes we went nice and slow! Tire $95 in town! Thank goodness they were open! PROPANE GUYS PULL UP to refill and I shit you not dude is smoking a CIG while standing at the rear of the tanker, while it is pumping propane over to the tanker!!! WTF!!! Lastly; we did crab boil, no crab crackers to open them legs, BUT we pros so no worry. Bring your own laundry soap-- u will need it if ya have kids. Bring your wash cloths, there was 1 per shower, uhh really When you pay $1k+ for a stay such things are not too much to ask. read more

My BFF and I decided we needed an escape and to go into nature, but we didn't want to get together camping gear that quickly so we googled for cabins and I had been to one in Broken Bow before - and then we found these guys! We stayed at the Eagle Ridge cabin which is absolutely beautiful. It has two bedrooms (one upstairs and one downstairs) with king size beds, which are averagely comfortable. It also has two queen size beds in the downstairs game room type area. These two beds are not behind doors or anything, but are actually more comfortable than the ones in the rooms. The couch upstairs also (supposedly) folds out into a queen, so that would serve as a bed too. Needless to say, there's a ton of room here! But, I wanted to be specific about the accommodations so you can plan ahead if you're coming with a large group. The couch itself is also solidly comfortable without folding it out, so someone could sleep on that no problem. There are two bathrooms (one upstairs, one down) and each have a shower and toilet, the one upstairs also has a tub (great for kids). Plenty of room in both, although the one downstairs is larger. I was impressed by the water pressure in both. Fully equipped kitchen (cooking utensils/pots/pants, silverware, etc) but I suggest you check the plates / silverware when you arrive. This place lost a solid star because when we arrived (after it had been "cleaned") there was actual pieces of food on the plates. Not just little flecks, but FOOD on the plates up in the cabinets. It was gross. We threw everything into the dishwasher and ran it, and handwashed a few so we could eat. The internet is solid, make sure you call ahead or email ahead for the wi-fi password because it's not posted anywhere inside and you'll be SOL if you arrive late. The Dish Network TV worked well, and they also have a DVD player with a small collection of movies. There is a Nintendo Wii downstairs with a collection of games but we didn't test it. Hot tub outside is fantastic, but you couldn't fit more than 4 people at a time. GREAT to sit and relax in though. The exterior of the cabin is not as well-maintained as the inside and I wish the chairs and tables had been in better condition because it was beautiful weather, but nowhere to really sit comfortably (they were dirty/covered in spiderwebs/etc). Another reason they aren't 5 stars is that the exterior door to the screened-in patio was broken and had a huge gap in the frame so a family of wasps had taken up residence inside. If that was fixed it would be an AWESOME place to hang out during good temps, but since I didn't want to be stung we never got to enjoy it. There is also a large firepit area in the woods nearby (wonderful) and I think there are five chairs, so if you're bringing more than 5 people just toss some extra campchairs in the back of your car so you can enjoy it. There was a little firewood (not a lot) but enough to have a quick fire. If you want a longer one, bring more wood. Nearby there are lots of cool places to hike, including the national park. You won't be bored whether you're spending time inside and enjoying yourself or outside enjoying nature. My friend and I are absolutely planning to return next year with even more people, and my fingers are crossed that they correct these issues in the Eagle Ridge cabin because we did inform them of them. read more

The cabin was very clean and well appointed with extras to make our stay comfortable. The accommodations and amenities were exactly as presented on the booking site. Would definitely recommend! My family took a fall break vacation to the Wildwood cabin. We had an excellent experience and the cabin was dog friendly! They provided a bag of dog food in case we had forgotten. The cabin was furnished well. Very functional washer and dryer which helped tremendously. The hot tub/spa was a great escape from the occasional family chaos inside. The spa itself was very clean and was good to soak in even in 85 degree weather! Sleeping was a breeze in their comfortable beds. I highly recommend renting with Creative Escapes! read more

Management will not communicate after payment. A once in a lifetime family trip was ruined after the first rental had an alarm going off for hours and multiple communication attempts were ignored. The same night, the second rental's keypad died and there was NO BACKUP KEY. Once we finally were able to reach management, they ensured a locksmith was coming soon. When he did arrive over 5 hours later, he let us know that he had not gotten the call until an hour beforehand. I have never given a negative review publicly, but I strongly urge you to pick another business if you do not want to see your loved ones without food or water in 100+ degree temperatures. *edit: we have now heard back from management and have received a refund for that night. read more

UPDATE: I finally got a call from the owner of Creative Escapes. Apparently, the only way to get a response from them is to post a negative review. She offered to compensate me for the cleaning fee and one night's stay. However, this offer hinged on me taking down my review. BEWARE! My family checked in for a 3 night stay the week leading up to Thanksgiving. As we were entering the house, a woman pulled up and asked to walk through to check the house. I asked her to please where a mask as we were with elderly parents with health issues. She rudely said "no she couldn't and she wouldn't be able to help me if there were any issues", stormed into her car, and peeled away as I tried to get her name. I called Creative Escapes trying to reach the manager/owner not once, but 3 times and to date, no one has called me back. In addition, the house was utterly disgusting. It smelled like a sewer, the bedding was stained and ripped in places, and several of the dishes in the kitchen were put away dirty. Many of the items in the house were broken or in a state of disrepair such as the pool table and foosball table. Some of the items listed on the Treetop Lodge page were simply not there such as the ping pong table and video game counsel. All in all, this was a horrific experience and I expect MUCH more for over $1300/night. Unfortunately, since no one will call me back I will have to report this to the McCurtain county health department...it was that bad. I have rented multiple times from Creative Escapes over the last 11 years. It seems like ownership changed at one point....maybe that explains the issues. read more

Leave to eat thinking maintenance will repair the issue. Come back to door codes not working. The emergency contact number is not working. Finally get through and the on call maintenance worker advised his phone was off. Refuses to give names of anyone to file complaints against. Still no water after 10 pm. Do not use this company. Since the reception up in that area is spotty at best, the Creative Escapes team sent mile by mile directions and they were spot on. You can't get any more amazing or tranquil than Hickory Bear. The décor was tasteful and fun. Not only was the location kid friendly but dog friendly too. The porch had a beautiful view of the woodsy area out back overlooking the fire pit. (There was a burn ban so we didn't get to toast any marshmallows ) The place was spotless, hot tub was clean (thank goodness), and the kitchen and grill out back are a chef's dream - perfect for all grill mistresses and masters! On the coffee table, there is a little journal of previous occupants that's a fun drunk read. Interesting to see what everyone gets into when there is no one there to judge. LOL The only complaint I have, was the table out back. There are screws missing and should be fixed ASAP! My friend tripped on one of the patio chairs and used the table to stead herself but ended up collapsing and injuring herself instead. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen if this is not fixed. read more

We just spent 4 days at one of their cabins and I would not recommend this place. Costumer service is HORRIBLE. While staying here we had a few issues with the cabin including no wifi password to access the free wifi they advertise. We sent them 3 emails and spoke to 2 different people who said they would find out what the password and call us back but nobody ever did so we didn't have wifi for our kids to do their homework the entire time. Also the cabin was dirty and you could tell that nobody came and cleaned it between guests because the guest before us that left a complaint card was still there. The cabin was also EXTREMELY overpriced for qhat it offered and the online pictures were extremely misleading on the size of the cabin. It also said it sleeps 13 but it only fits 10 people and that's even very snug. To have a small cabin, no amenities, dirty and poor customer service foe a very high price I would say spend your money elsewhere. read more

Luxury Cabins is not what you get. They are old, outdated, and beat up. The pictures look NOTHING like what we thought we were paying for and I consider that stealing. The honeymoon suite is terrible. They claim it has a hot tub, no, it's a bathtub with broken jets. The "shack" sits across the street from a cemetery. The front window is broken, half of the bulbs are dead, the bed is extremely loud and has a plastic that crackles when moving your head, the blanket had dried blood on it, all window treatments are broken and dusty as hell, tiny tv, uncomfortable furniture, didn't get any sleep, giant trash can on the porch, heat filter hasn't been changed EVER so we are breathing in everyone else's dead skin cells and dog hair, the bathroom is water damaged, the door needs to be replaced, and they have the guts to have postings all over the room about cleaning the cabin yourself as in dishes and laundry yourself! HORRIBLE. I want my money back. Don't stay here! They don't care about their guests enough lift a finger for maintenance or cleaning. Also, there is no WiFi read more

People goto cabins in woods to enjoy those things. We were told we would receive a "partial" refund but weeks later nothing. We rented two Cabins from them and spent over $3,000 in rental fees.....one cabin still had the alarm set and when we checked in the alarm was set off for over two hours while we could not reach anyone because the voicemail was full and the other number was busy. We emailed and Facebook messaged. I never received a call back. The other cabin we put our stuff into the rooms and left to go eat and came back at 7pm to a dead keypad. Again we could not reach anyone for quite some time. Finally she called someone and they had no back up key!!!! We had to wait for a maintenance man and then a locksmith to come and it was after midnight! They should have been there waiting for the people not us! It ruined our entire evening as no one wanted to leave someone by themselves to wait and all we could do was sit in the oppressive heat because everything was inside. I have yet to be called as I was the person to rent the cabins. The customer service was horrible and I would not EVER recommend. The brother bear home was dirty and the bed pillows were so flat I wouldn't even call them pillows. Again, we still have not been contacted! It's a survival approach because you will not get any help from the management. I am waiting on a refund for Friday night. If that happens I will re-evaluate my review. read more

I want to start off by saying we are a laid back family. We are not hard to please and hate to complain. We didn't mind some of the things that were wrong when we arrived. There was a broken window, the smoke detector was dangling by the wires and the kitchen sink light was dangling. No biggy. We unloaded our food and belonging and turned down the air. It was really hot in the cabin so we headed out for an early dinner. So far we are not unhappy and don't feel like we need to complain. When we returned, it was hotter in the house than outside, we had to call multiple times before reaching someone to fix it and continued to call every hour on the hour until someone arrived. In the meantime, we noticed the fridge was not cold. We moved everything to the freezer and called about it also. After hours of sweating in a cabin at 87 degrees, we finally got it repaired. The manager checked the fridge and said it should be cold by tomorrow and to call again if it wasn't working the next morning. Really? Our food would have been spoiled and it should have been plugged in prior to our arrival and the air should have been checked also. We are understanding people and still would have been ok with it all had she acted more apologetic or offered something for our trouble. When the ac guys arrived, we were packing up to find a hotel for the night. No discount offered. Can't say I would recommend this place to a friend. read more

My suggestion to you would be to schedule your vacation through someone else. VRBO and Creative Escapes will not guarantee your trip. Our reservations were made 8 months ago and we paid more than half at that time. Our trip is schedule 4 weeks away and today they cancelled. There is no money back and there is rescheduling. We lost about $1200. I had a friend who also experienced this problem and I thought I'd give it a try because maybe it was a one time mistake. Nope. Here we sit with no reservation. My suggestion to you is to book elsewhere if you want to ensure that you will in fact have a place to stay. In hind sight, I wished I had heed the warnings from other reviews. read more

I explained most of what Joe spoke of above and this is her exact reply..." I hate that you didn't have the best experience at A Shore Thing. You are correct, it is probably more conducive to college kids or a single family with children. There is a reason it only rents for $195, it isn't one of our nicest cabins. I do hope you will try us another time. Take a look at Now and Zen, it is perfect for 2 couples or Rustic Ridge. Also, A Shore THing does not advertise that it has internet." She (Chandra) added that she wished she would have known about these problems while we were there. Huh? I called the office and left a message that we ARE still there. Chandra called back and was very nice. She agreed that maybe she should state on the website that this cabin is best for college kids. By the way...Joe left out of his review above, none of the remotes would operate the TV, finally when we went to eat the first night and had Internet he was able to get online and get the code to reset the remote and it worked, also the gas grill on the deck only half the burners worked. Anyway...we told Chandra we would be leaving a day early because we just weren't comfortable with the cabin. She hated to hear that and offered to refund our third night. We stayed at the Nature House and have booked through this company before and have always been pleased. Took four of my girlfriends for my birthday this past weekend and have to say was so disappointed due to the fact they have never been to Broken Bow and disappointed they didn't have a great place to stay. The home was very dirty we had to clean bathrooms and patio furniture before we could sit. The dining table had to be really cleaned. I know someone had been there to clean because television and lights were on when we arrived. I told them they usually had the basics like salt, pepper, hair dryers, and wine glasses. Finally found one hair dryer and 3 wine glasses. Instructions about what not to do everywhere for hot tub but nothing on how to work DVD. A/C filter so dirty that we figured that was why it didn't work properly. I have another cabin booked for July 4 and really hope it doesn't disappoint. When we called for how to work DVD they did return phone call immediately and after the second personnel came by they figured it out as well. Might be time for a new DVD player. read more

I emailed the management with no response pretty much what we got when we stayed there. The place was disgusting the bathroom had mold growing on the rim of the toilet and it smelled horrible. The alarm beeped for 3 days straight the girl that came over 4 hours after we called didn't have a clue. The stereo didn't work.The dust on the blinds was at least 6 months old they do not clean there cabins to our expectation when you spend that kind of money They left us 2 garbage bags for the whole stay really??? 1 third of the lights were burnt out unacceptable for what you pay for the Bucket List. I booked Bucket List Lodge on 1/18/20 for July 9-12. On April 2nd I called Creative Escapes to cancel the reservation due to concerns of the COVID-19 pandemic. The state is currently in a shutdown and all nonessential businesses have been shut down. The pics and postings on Facebook showing people gathered in large groups in bars and other locations in the Hochatown area were very concerning and precipitated my decision to cancel the reservation due to fears of contagion. A full refund should have been given due to circumstances that could not be avoided. (Especially with 3 months' notice) When I called to cancel there was NO mention of a cancelation fee so I assumed it was waived due to the statewide shutdown. When I received my cancelation receipt, I was charged $50!! I would never use that company again. They should have done the right thing! read more
