I agree with the other negative review place....the absolute worst meal we had in Rome. Waiters were SO rude, service was sloppy and slow, wine stale, pizza was undercooked - dont be fooled by the pretty tablecloths and lovely patio - this place is AWFUL!

We loved Hosteria Baullari. It is everything Rick Steves warns you about: the big menu board, a barker asking you to come in, and it is steps away from the touristy farmers' market in Campo dei Fiori. And we found it and the people working there friendly and utterly charming, the food could not be more fresh or delicious, and I would return to Hosteria Baullari without hesitation anytime. One dish, unlike any I had come across before: Caramelle Pistacchi e Pare (caramelle pasta** filled with pistachio nut and pear). Delicious! Four stars. ** I know, I had to look it up: Caramella pasta is stuffed pasta, shaped like a candy whose plastic wrapper are twisted at both ends to seal them.

After a fun day of walking around and exploring Rome, we stopped here for lunch. Heavy foot traffic and big tourist area, we were too hungry to be picky. The three of us each ordered an entree, the cheese ravioli, pepperoni pizza and the seafood pasta. Very filling, the tomatoes in my cheese raviolis were extremely delicious. Fresh ingredients. Chicken pasta with cream sauce, very tasty. The pizza was a little basic, but we asked for extra Parmesan and herbs for a more lovely flavor. The staff were all very attentive and friendly. Great location, good food portions, wonderful staff, simple Italian dishes. Keep up the good work guys.

This place is a tourist trap: AVOID AT ALL COST. We've been traveling for close to 2 weeks and my kids were excited to see French toast and Belgium waffle on a menu. Worst breakfast ever. The waffle was size of my palm and tough. Covered with chocolate syrup and my kid couldn't eat it. The French Toast was crispy, looked like fried catfish; again inedible. My eggs had a weird, unnatural orange color to it. TO top it off they gave themselves a 20% service tip, unheard of in any of the restaurants that I have been at in Italy.

We ate here on the third of september. The person outside was very friendly in approaching us outside the restaurant. When we chose for them, we even received a free glass of good champagne. Their prices were very good. I had a special, a big t-bone steak cooked to perfect medium with a side salad and grilled potatoes. My girlfriend had a very good pizza Parmigiana with eggplant and parmesan cheese. The service was fast and great. A perfect place for dinner on a beautiful square in Rome.

Best tiramisu of my life. Great location- right in the piazza: Campo di Fiori. Free WiFi. Grappa was very strong, but not all that delicious.

As soon as I approached this restaurant the atmosphere. was great. They had a greeter approach us and persuade us to come by. We decided to sit down and try some Italian pizza before starting our day. Our waiter was so nice and friendly and gave us several compliments (flirting). They were very happy to give us our choice of meat which wasn't included in the menu. Pizza was delicious!!! I am interested in coming back before my stay is up.

In the middle of a busy piazza and farmers market. So yes, touristy but the food was very good as was the service. No issues. Good water mist machines to bear the heat in the summer. Pics to follow !

I haven't had a good meal in Rome until today. Finally a good freah meal. Would def recommend.

We ordered sea bass fillet rolled in zucchini and honey mushrooms. Fish was tender, soft, and delicious with great seasoning. We also ordered Ravioli with white truffles and it was delicious as well. Ravioli tasted like it was freshly made and it tasted great with truffles. Lastly, we got tiramisu for dessert. This tiramisu was prepared by an artist. Just by looking at the dish, it was very pretty to look at. It was presented on a beautiful plate with thin chocolate cookie on top with sugar decoration and underneath was a creamy white tiramisu. I loved this dish because it was unique dessert with great sweet flavor and great presentation. The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly with great attitude and they are attentive. I think they liked the look on my face every time they brought out the dishes because their presentation was great. Whoever was the Chef that night, I would give him or her an award. This restaurant was unique just like Rome. Highly recommended!

We opted for the Roman-style cuisine tasting menu with wine pairings. The service was warm and welcoming, and the ambiance was quiet and romantic. I appreciated the decor, especially the various wine bottles displayed throughout, and I also liked the dishes the food was served on. That said, this restaurant leaned a little too "foodie" for my taste. I also discovered that I really dislike truffles! My husband, on the other hand, enjoyed everything--including my leftovers. The wines were fantastic across the board. I also want to mention the pricing was shockingly affordable for what we got at dinner, which again, included the wine pairing. If you consider yourself a foodie and enjoy creative, thoughtfully prepared dishes, Ristorante Ad Hoc is worth a visit.

This place was so incredible, we went TWICE during our 3 day stay in Rome!…read more We had tried the other "super famous" Italian sandwich spot earlier in our trip and it did NOT deliver. Pane e Salame, however, was delicious!!!! On our first day in Rome, my husband and I decided to search for a lunch spot nearby (we were staying near the Trevi fountain), and I found this place had pretty good reviews. We got there about an hour after it opened and requested a seat outdoors. They have a tiny patio across from their entrance, but they fit quite a bit of people in it! We initially wanted to order two sandwiches to try more items, but I'm glad we just shared one - they were big and filling! We also had the small charcuterie board to share which was plenty of food for us both. We shared a bottle of rose, and all in all, we paid under $50 (usd) - what a steal! This was the perfect first meal in Rome. The food was incredibly fresh, the service was great, and the outdoor seating allowed us to experience the streets of Rome. 10/10 - would absolutely go back.

Our sandwiches were cut in half and one half was big enough to make the average person full. We got five sandwiches for only about €30! The place was not a tourist trap, but i have to say, the seats at the booth were uncomfortable to me, and the place was a bit small. Sorry i do not have photos. But overall, I would recommend to go here.
