Nice place to stay that is close to everything walking distance including the train station to the airport. There is a tiny bar that has a lot of games and really friendly staff that stays open pretty late. Which means it can also get a bit loud at night if that is not your thing.

Loved this place. The people seemed cool and young. I loved the bar there. My bedroom was really cute and each bunk had a little curtain, a light, an outlet, and a fan. I had a key card to get into my room, a lock for the storage area under the bed (cost $3 to rent or $5 to buy), and there was a code for the bathroom. The building was several stories, and you have to walk up a flight of stairs to reach the check in desk and main floor (so pack light). Can't wait to come back next time I'm in town!

First time staying in lodo denver. This hostel is located close to larimer square, 16th st mall, denver central market and union bus station within walking distance. I really enjoy the place specially the dog is super adorable.

This is a review only for the bar/game room part of the Hostel. I did not stay here overnight. My friends are avid stayers at this local hostel. According to them, this is one of the best/most fun hostels in the area. In fact, I actually know a couple who met here! When I visited the game room/bar area on the second floor, I could instantly tell why my friends loved this hostel. The atmosphere was lively. There were a few people who were already at the bar, playing darts, or sitting down and eating their dinner. I had met someone from Texas at the bar, and we quickly started a conversation about how we both ended up here. I could tell that people were open to conversation and meeting each other. They also had a few games scattered throughout the place: card games, dart toss, and ring toss. Hostel Fish is more well known for their bar crawls, open mic, and drinking games. If you check in via the Yelp app, you also get a buy one get one free drink deal! Regarding the decor, it was on point! One wall was decorated with luggages embedded into the structure. There was a Christmas tree as well, and a piano. The piano was more for show since many of the keys were no longer functional. Next time I visit Denver, I'm definitely considering staying at this hostel. The short time I had here actually inspired me to check out hostels when I travel (I'm usually an avid Air BnB or hotel kind of lady). And, this is coming from someone who initially had a slight disdain toward the idea of hostels. So, seeing this place actually changed my perspective! Beyond happy that my friends introduced me to this hostel and the concept of hostels! Tip: for the female bathroom, it's a light sensor. There a code to use the bathroom, but, when you enter it's pitch black. You need to walk a little further down the stalls for the light sensor to be triggered. I was initially quite perplexed since I was stumbling to find the light switch!

Good place for a bed. Hostel Fish is cheap and clean. It has a good location. Fun things to do around it. This has its own bar too. Best thing is the location in Denver. It's near Coors Field. There's lots of breweries and restaurants. Also there's lots of cannabis dispensaries. You can have fun without going far from here. Bar is located right here so you can drink and then go to bed. The prices are pretty cheap for the quality. It's about $25 for a person but it's cheaper through some online travel sites so book it there before coming. The beds are very comfortable and it's cleaner than at many other hostels that cost more. It seems to be the best value in Denver. It's cheap even for a hostel. They however provide nothing so bring toiletries and towels.

The view when I stepped out of my room. The interior glass ceiling. Beautiful artwork with a super positive vibe!

I absolutely recommend this business!! I stayed in the Aspen room for 6 nights with no issues and very respectful roomies! The beds are actually better than most posh hotel beds I've stayed in!!!! Way better!! The kitchen area was clean and my food was safe in the refrigerator! The staff were helpful, personable but not nosey. The bathrooms were super clean!! I felt safe every night. The location is perfect for walking to eateries and sightseeing. There was ALWAYS rentable electric bikes readily available within a block of the front doors! The hostel supplies everything for sleep and bath so no need for your own pillow, blanket or towel! In fact, you're asked not to bring those items. It keeps these spaces clean of any kinds of tiny bugs that could be passed on. I only have good vibes for this hostel and will stay here EVERY TIME I am in Denver! I was able to be a lone wolf without being completely alone. It was exactly what I needed. Thank you universe for the gift of this safe and easy to love place to rest and reconnect.

Tip: Call to reserve late checkout at 1:30 for $30. First come first served. Otherwise checkout is at 11 AM. It was nice to enjoy coffee in the lodge after a late night concert. Worth it to take the shuttle (mini school bus with a couch and disco balls!) for $15/person to be dropped up at the top of Red Rocks - beats the long line walking up. $25/person pick up - approx 10 min walk but it's all downhill to the party bus and seemed way safer than all the taxi drivers in your face outside of the amphitheater. Brooks is awesome and takes care of you!! We stayed in the Rose Retreat again. It's a small room, but I love the big shower and mini fridge with Brita. The window air conditioning unit kept the place nice and cool with it being 95° outside. Private hot tub and robes in the closet. Breakfast is included. Order at check-in and enjoy the next morning. There is also fruit, bagels, coffee and tea, with alternative milk available. Bottomless mimosas available for a cost. We enjoyed a nice chess game with coffee after a delicious breakfast. Can't wait for the next visit!

This isn't a super nice or updated space, but we had everything we needed for our mixed bag of early 30s friends. My friends and I stayed in the Stone St. cottage, which is heavily Grateful Dead/psychedelic/ classic rock themed. The room is listed as sleeping 3, which we did on night one, but easily slept 4 on night 2. The grounds were so charming and eclectic. The cottage we were in was a little wonky and slanted on the floor, but the rooms were clean, the shower worked great and we had more than what we needed. We checked in super late in the darkness so we didn't get to experience a normal front desk check in, which I'm sure would brief us on procedures like pre-ordering breakfast the night before, but the staff was so accommodating when we showed up hungry and ordered bacon, eggs and potatoes in the AM. Mary was the cook and she was rad, quick witted and whipped up a lovely home cooked breakfast. There are 2 dogs (that we met) on site names Shokti (gorg white husky queen) and Mr. Dog (precious, hilarious chihuahua businessman) and we loved to pet and visit with them while in the main lodge. That space is incredible: kitschy, eclectic, trippy and warm, just like our whole stay! I could go on forever about how adult-summer-camp-esque the grounds were! Every cottage is themed, though we only entered ours. The covered hot tub was a crucial touch for our group in the crisp 50 degree weather to take a morning dip and unwind after the show. I'm unsure if all cottages come with hot tubs so definitely confirm if that's something you're interested in. The walkability to all the necessities and some breweries/ eateries was appealing when we had time to kill. Cliff House offers a shuttle to and from Red Rocks for a fixed price per rider. The shuttle to the venue leaves 15 minutes prior to doors which was a little late for us, so we opted to take the shuttle back and it was a highlight of the trip. Brook's organized the shuttle, sent us incredibly detailed instructions on where/ how to find her in a short, yellow school bus. I especially appreciate the details because we had been drinking etc and needed the depth of care taken to make sure we found her! The bus was stocked with beverages and we played music and just bopped down the hill, laughing our butts off. This was such a fun stay for us and it was thanks to the grounds, location, home cooked breakfast and tea in the lodge, Mary, Brooks, Shokti and Mr. Dog. I will recommend to anyone I know traveling that way!

The dirt entry road should have been my first clue... If you are a true outdoor adventurous, and…read moreyou do not mind hostile style sleeping or dirt roads or just completely laid-back housing on your vacation. This is the place for you. For me, I should have read the small print! $$ First of all... The young lady at the front desk had to deal with me after I had not slept for 36 hours, I have to give her a very high rating for fixing my reservation and allowing me to sleep in one of the cabin room for one night instead of on a hostel cot in a unit with five other people. I did go out and make a reservation at a different establishment for the other two nights that I was going to stay in Boulder. Second of all, I just needed to sleep... So this was a perfect place to lay my head until the morning. The three stars is definitely for the staff as they were very kind and very accommodating. I don't know how to rate the room itself. The railing that led to my room was rickety so I did not use it to climb the stairs that were also questionable. The room itself and the bed and linen were clean, but the floor of the tub was so brown that I could not take a shower in it. The TV did not work, and there was no air-conditioning. They did supply a box fan, which I set up in front of the TV (that was not functional) and slept with the fan blowing on me all night. Yes, I was in Colorado, but during the summer it's as warm as Georgia! For those of you who hate your phone, this is the perfect place for you as there is NO... And I mean zero... Cell service. The bright side is, is that they do provide Wi-Fi So there you have it! Enjoy life, make lots of memories, and safe travels

Gather around children and let me tell you the story of our adventure with this establishment and…read morethe surrounding area. Upon check in, the staff, super nice. Asked for my ID to verify I am who I am, but here's where the adventure truly began. The front desk clerk obviously didn't look at my ID when I gave her my last name for check in. There just happened to be two of us with the same last name there that night. The ID should have been utilized to tell the difference between myself and Nancy. I prepaid for my room, Nancy hadn't, so I got charged for Nancy's two rooms (I got refunded). The desk clerk felt bad for her mistake, and reversed the charges immediately. The room was nice! Newly remodeled/refurbished the room, the beds, the floors, thus the reason for the two stars. The bathrooms could have been given a little TLC since that obviously wasn't touched during remodel. Now the neighborhood... There are really good restaurants nearby (Jelly/Park Avenue Tacos), but wow this neighborhood screams Boys in the Hood. I was seriously anticipating hearing somebody scream "RICKY!!" when we were walking around. But if you're looking to buy a quick "fix", then the ambiance of this neighborhood is for you. Looking for a weekend shag with a possible parting gift? Well, the prostitutes in the area are for you with their missing teeth and big tits (I was impressed by them when I saw them from across the street) then this neighborhood is for you. Want to fall asleep to the sweet sweet sounds of gun shots, ambulances, motorcycles, and cars revving their engines, then this is the place for you! For the love of God, avoid the 7-11 next door because it has a metric ton of strung out drug addicts and the cashier there doesn't know how to count and is a total douche (another story for another Yelp review). I definitely won't be staying here again if I'm in Denver again.

Days Inn Downtown Denver - Don't Make the Mistake I Did…read more Considering a room at Days Inn Downtown Denver? My story follows, but to save time, here's all you need to know: DON'T. My son & DIL were about to deliver a baby at HCA St. Luke's, so I chose the hotel at the top of the hospital's list & closest to the facility, thinking I'd walk the 7/10 mile easily. I knew the hotel was 3 stars, & read some reviews. Comments said it was clean, rooms newly redone, helpful staff. All of that is true, but looking back, all the positive reviews were by people who'd never posted before. One review read, "It was scary!" I figured it was a troll. I was wrong. Booked a room for 2 nights. When I arrived, the hotel looked pretty grim. Not the best section of town, not a great reception area, but all I needed was a clean room, a bed, WIFI, & a desk where I could work while waiting for baby. Safety hadn't crossed my mind, but 2 minutes into check-in, a man I thought had come in from the street, but later turned out to be a guest known to the staff, interrupted & demanded the clerk DO SOMETHING about the PEOPLE WHO WERE LOOKING AT HIM THROUGH THE WINDOW. I've lived & worked in Philly, & visit adult kids in D.C., Baltimore, & Denver, so the displaced population is familiar. This guy was aggressive, threatening, either on something or suffering from a mental illness. He got more & more animated, accused the clerk of not believing him, yelling that he takes video out of his window all the time & could prove that people were looking in his window & demanding that she do something. The clerk calmly asked him to bring the video so she could look. I was impressed by her, but shook. He left & she continued the check-in, but he came back, acting even more agitated, yelling that she didn't believe him, that he wasn't going through hours of video just to make her believe him. It went on & on. By the time he left again, I was wondering why there was no security. I went to my room, which was clean, with new furnishings & flooring, but the external hall to get there was dark, looked dirty, & I felt very exposed. Shaking, I called my husband, who said to cancel the next night's reservation. I was petrified to go back out, but went downstairs & told the clerk how uncomfortable & unsafe I felt. She said I was a couple of hours after the cutoff, too late to cancel. She also dismissed my concerns, said she'd worked there for 2 years & didn't feel unsafe. I admired her toughness, but it didn't make me feel any better. I felt stuck & afraid. Yelling, either from the street or from another room, didn't help. I turned on the TV, skipped eating because I didn't want to encounter the man or anyone else, & slept with the lights on. The next day, I asked them to reconsider a refund for the 2nd night because I wasn't staying, then checked out & went to another hotel a few blocks away. It felt like a different world. I got a letter from the owner citing new security & how they'd never had an incident. Said if I could prove something had happened there in the past 5 years, they'd refund for the night I didn't stay, but otherwise, no. Some of that may be true, but their door, stairs, & elevator to the guest room are NOT monitored - I left in the morning without anybody seeing me, & when I returned, I had to wait for the clerk to emerge from the back. Anyone could've walked in, & up. It's apparent that their guests acting aggressively & erratically is normal, & management thinks it's fine. Here's the bottom line. This is NOT A HOTEL FOR TOURISTS. It's a transient hotel in a tough part of town. If you're coming to Denver to see the sights, visit relatives, etc., this is NOT A PLACE WHERE YOU WILL FEEL SAFE. Management totally disregards concerns about safety. Wyndham should be ashamed of having this property associated with its brand. Don't make the mistake I did. There are plenty of fine hotels in town that don't cost a ton of money. Pick another place.
