Loved the security of needing to use a room key everywhere. It is so incredibly clean and quiet. We hardly ran into other guests. The kitchen is a huge hit. So helpful in saving money being able to make stuff in the hotel. The supplies is limited though, so keeping that in mind. Housekeeping only comes every other day, you have to go down to the front desk to get extra things as they don't run it up to you. Love how the beds are in a separate room with a door so that when the kids went to bed I could still hang out with my husband in the living room. It truly felt like a home away from home. Would love to stay here again.

So very pleased with our experience at the Hyatt House located directly across from UCHealth Anschutz Campus. My family and I stayed in multiple room types over the course of the week and we had a phenomenal stay! While I forgot to take pictures of our rooms, they were well appointed with full refrigerators and cooking areas. One of our suites included two queen beds as well as a sectional couch with a pullout bed, full kitchen and table area. Another room was a king suite with a mini kitchen and another was a full king suite with full kitchen. Every single room was clean with a coffee maker, iron, hair dryer, and everything you'd need for an extended stay. In the morning, we started our day off with free coffee and breakfast and it was superb! The food was hot, fresh, plenty full, and there was a great selection of choices. From fresh fruit, to warm protein and everything in between, one of the better breakfast offerings we've ever had at an extended stay hotel! The gym and pool area were also fantastic! Super quiet, clean and well kept! There is a bar area that is open for happy hour in the evenings that serves a variety of food and there was also a pool table in that area. I can't wait to stay here again! Alex, the first person we met at the front desk, was one of the best front desk agents we've ever dealt with! He was kind, professional, and very attentive! He navigated and resolved a number of different self-induced issues and was a great help. While we did not use the shuttle service, the property even has a shuttle service offering! I'd give this place 100 stars if I could!

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Located next to the city's medical center on a main street Colfax Ave. I'm told the hotel is only 3 years old. It looked pretty new to me. Check in was pretty easy. The front entrance is key access only, and is locked at all times. And has entrance camera surveillance. Apparently the area surrounding the hotel is pretty sketchy and dangerous, specifically at night. So be aware. But I had no incident at all. The lobby area is large with different seating areas. My room itself was clean and was a good size for me. Had a nice view of the hospital and the foothills off in the distance. FYI they do a light room cleaning every other day, and a deep cleaning every 4 days if you stay 7 days or more. I asked for my room to be cleaned and restocked of towels on my 3rd day and it was not an issue. There is a fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker in the room. Bathroom was modern. The breakfast bar had more offerings than I expected which I appreciated. And staff were managing it well to restock coffee/cooked food/fruit & yogurt items. My check out with Bridget was nice. She offered me a bottle watered, and ensured I was safely getting to my destination. This hotel is not near any site seeing areas, tourist attractions, museums, or nice restaurants etc. So you would need to drive out to anything worth seeing, if you're visiting. It also isnt walkable to anything worth seeing either. Except the hospitals in the there small med center, or the couple of parks that are a few blocks away. So I wouldn't stay here solo and plan on walking anywhere, unless I had a vehicle. They have a parking lot in the back of hotel. Overall it was a good stay for me.

Very nice, newer hotel (2021). Thus would be a perfect place to stay of you need to be close to University of Colorado Hospital because it's right across the street. I was worried about parking before we arrived after reading other reviews. The parking lot is on the smaller side, but the hotel has an overflow lot. Hotel staff help customers if they are having trouble finding a place to park, so I wouldn't worry too much about this if you're planning a stay. Rooms are generously sized. Rooms have a kitchenette with stovestop, dishwasher, small refrigerator and microwave. Cupboards are stocked with cooking basics, silverware, and plates. I loved the nice big windows in the room, offering beautiful views of the Generals Park across the street. Breakfast is complimentary and quite good. Unlike some hotels, the food isn't the exact same choices every day. Reception has two employees named Alex, and they were both professional and helpful. The hotel has a nice bar in the lobby with pizza, sandwiches, and burgers. There is an indoor swimming pool and gym. Overall, we had a wonderful stay

Living area

I wanted to be close to the UC hospital and clinic buildings. You can't get any closer. It's literally right across the street. That's great, unless you're a light sleeper or bothered by a lot of noise 24/7. There are ambulance with sirens blaring and the very loud "bronk bronk" at the intersection right out our window. Never mind it seems obvious that CO has no noise law against very loud mufflers. All that aside, our room #629 (top floor, corner, 2 queen beds, connecting unit) was nice. It's called a large 2 room. Meaning a living/kitchen area with a separate bedroom with a door. It was very clean. The kitchen was very basically stocked. Could have used a small cutting/paring knife instead of the very large serrated knife. Only one sauce and frying pan. And, no toaster. This was the first place I've stayed in with a kitchen with no toaster. But, the amazing desk person found one for me to use. Talk about going out of your way! The living area is very spacious bit sterile looking. Could use some nicer pillows and a nice comfy chair. There is plenty of room. The couch is not very comfortable. The sheets on one bed had holes and tears in the top sheet and one of the couch pillows was coming apart at the seams. Parking is limited. There is a free buffet breakfast. Overall, if you want to be close to the hospital, this is the hotel for you. Just bring earplugs.

If you have heard the stories about Aurura, CO, they are all true. The area it is in is a massive dump. You need to scan your card just to get into the hotel. If it's full, expect to park in the overflow lot which is an unmowed field where there are several homeless "residences". The staff doesn't even park there. Most people just parked illegally until they were even full. The cops are too busy to deal with fire lane tickets. There was a murder at the intersection when we were there (Peoria and E Colfax). The free breakfast was marginal, the coffee was water and if you enjoy plastic in your sausage (which my son did), then you will enjoy it. There is only ever 1 person at the desk and if that person is helping someone, enjoy the wait. Decent workout room, tiny pool. The cleaning staff was kind and helpful but most didn't know a lick of English. Enjoy luke warm showers unless it is an off time like 2pm or 2am. Air condition sounded like a 747 and the fridge vibrated when it was running. Bartender was friendly and there was a mini pool table for the kids to enjoy. I don't know how anyone could rate this place above 2 stars, I am sure they were paid or Hyatt employees.

Lovely & look like a brand new hotel! We stayed there only one night before our flight back home. When we first walked in, the hotel's atmosphere is peaceful. The light color wood look floor, neutral decorations here & there make everything look inviting & clean. The room is new & clean, good size bathroom. Their continental breakfast selection is awesome & fresh (coffee, milk, juice, egg, yogurt, fruit, bagel, oatmeal, etc) in comparison with other hotels we have stayed in the same trip. However, the hotel is surrounded with a lot of road construction as of Sep 2021, it maybe not so convenient but hopefully after it will be done, everything will be resumed normally.

Great hotel for a clean room, good location and amenities! Biggest reasons why I chose this hotel was free parking, free hot breakfast, and location that was only 20 min from the airport and 15 min away from downtown. I was surprised as to how large my room was so there was plenty of room for me to spread out. In the room is a decently sized fridge, coffee pot, and microwave. I wasn't expecting there to be a microwave so it was a nice addition so I could heat up left over food! Bed was very comfortable and room was very clean to me! The breakfast in the morning was good and had a wide variety of foods! The only negative thing I would have to say would be the amount of noise from the street, hallway, fridge, and AC/heating unit. I had the view of the hospital and the rockies which was nice compared to the parking lot, however I noticed there was a LOT of street noise as Colfax is a very busy street. I woke up several times in the middle of the night because of noisy cars going by. As some other reviewers had said, the heating/AC unit was super loud so I ended up shutting off the air before I went to bed because that would wake me up. The fridge was also very loud and would turn on/off throughout the night. Finally the doors don't have soft closing hinges, so you can hear your neighbors slamming their doors. I will admit that I am a light sleeper, so all of these things unfortunately bothered me. So if noise doesn't bother you, then this is the place for you! I would stay here again, but probably request parking lot view and wear ear plugs!

The shower drain is backing up. When I just took a shower, I had to stand in dirty water. The refrigerator is barely keeping anything cold and is freezing over on the inside. I went to lay down and I found jelly on the side of the nightstand next to the bed! The bathroom configuration with the toilet and shower separated and having the sink's faucet offset, is ridiculous. Then at night when I want to wind down and watch tv from my bed I can't because the TV is so far off to the side I can't barely see it. I have paid far less to stay at Marriot hotels with much better conditions. I assume since there's an event in town - Marriott decided to price gouge instead of charging a reasonable rate for a very poorly managed hotel. Update: Their breakfast is about as desirable as the rest of the hotel. There was hardly anything to choose from. They had breakfast sandwiches that were soggy and cold. The oatmeal was dried out. Of course your standard powdered eggs and sausage patties. The area with cereal look like it had exploded because no one was cleaning up any messes. No bagels or breakfast pastries, just English muffins. Usually I'd just grab a yogurt but they didn't even have that. What was really upsetting is when the lady who was supposed to be restocking everything couldn't restock food for everyone but brought ONE person like 2 dozen sausage patties but can't restock food for anyone else? Breakfast wasn't stocked ANY day we were there. (Reduced to 2 stars) Update 2: I'm assuming this is a pet friendly hotel but pet friendly shouldn't mean I have to listen to a dog barking all night in a room next to me. Normally I can sleep decent but I slept horrible from the beds and pillows being super uncomfortable. The hotel shakes every day around noon to 2pm, I thought it was an earthquake at first, no clue what that was about. So be aware of that if you try to take a nap mid-day. (Reduced to 1 star) I noticed on their website that the manager responds to complaints, but there are similar complaint by a lot of people. I can't believe we spent $1k to stay here and not have any amenities as simple as daily room service, a decent breakfast, clean room, working refrigerator, drains that aren't backed up, etc. Also, the upholstered furniture in the room is disgusting and needs to be cleaned.

Our more frequent doctors are conveniently in Boulder and Longmont. But some surgeries do need to happen at Anschutz. It's a facility that draws patients from several states so nearby lodging is important. SpringHill Suites was one of the first. There is a Hyatt next door. They share a shuttle service that takes patients and family members across busy, 8 lane Colfax to both University Hospital and Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion, Sue Rodger's Anschutz Eye Center as well as to Colorado Children's Hospital. This visit was planned for my husbands eye surgery and though a day surgery with a post op appointment the next day, we decided to stay over until he was cleared to drive back to Boulder as I don't drive because of a low vision condition. In winter, the extra time is even more important. The hotel has rooms designed and priced for this need. It was less expensive to stay here than to pay for car rides back and forth each day. The rooms are small studio suites with comfortable furniture and linens, micro fridge and micro wave and workspace with lots of lights and charging plugs. The room we had was nearly identical to what we had a decade ago, so upkeep and updating must be done regularly. The staff only changes linens as needed to save water but they were happy to leave off extra towels for our 3 day stay. The lounge downstairs serves breakfast staples as many do. Simple stuff my husband was ok with though I needed more options but u was free to do this while he was in surgery. There is a bar for evening that we did not use. There was a small convenience area with sodas, snacks, and. Serious treats but they were out of a few things he wanted, like ice cream. The rotating staff members were all helpful and pleasant. We used the shuttle on surgery day but walked the next day in nice weather for a little exercise. Shuttle driver was very feelingly. The second day there was a phone issue at the Hyatt next door that prevented us getting the shuttle though we didn't really need it anyway.if the weather had required it, I think we had plenty of time to have it resolved. The walk was only 6 minutes, using the pedestrian bridge over Colfax, which you are not allowed to cross on foot. It is prominently posted at the corners where it had been allowed in the past before the road got so wide and busy. One thing we noted different on this visit was that we were given a room facing Colfax as in the past , both times, we had rooms facing the parking lot. It was very noisy even with the heavy drake across the window. Take parking lot if you can get it. We will if there is a next time. Another small annoyance was that our 3rd floor room smelled lightly of bacon for about 30 minutes as the breakfast was being cooked. That had not happened in our first floor rooms a decade ago but I am not aware if they even served breakfast back then.

One bartender, Angie (who has been doing this for decades) was amazing. Actually enjoyed the panel rooms. I wish the largest area has been even larger for some of the more popular events. It was in the mid 70s in the room and it took a long time to cool it down to the 60s. Probably never complain about the room was that I couldn't 62° and was limited to 65° and it took a long time to get there. My second complaint would be, something that I've seen as a trend recently in hotels. The bed is oriented towards the window, and so the TV is at kind of a weird angle for people who like to watch from bed. It was a decent sized room, but I kind of felt there was so much furniture in there, and at such weird positioning that it felt rather cramped. Bed was OK, pillows were a little small. Refrigerator worked fine, it did not have a freezer compartment. I really would've appreciated a microwave in the room. The bathroom was nice and large and I don't really have any complaints about that. The parking garage was quite large, but it was a bit of a haul from the parking garage to the entrance of the hotel and did not make enjoyable trips with considerable luggage.

The trip was a difficult one, but I wanted to make the best of it so I chose The Benson Hotel. It is a beautiful building located on the Colorado University Anschutz medical campus. The inside of this hotel is beautiful and has extra special touches located throughout the facility. There are 2 fireplaces with spacious seating area, located near the coffee bar area. There is a library so the guests are able to select reading material during their stay. There is a bar area and restaurant located opposite the front desk. The restaurant Common Good has wonderful food and everything is made from scratch including their pasta, and yogurt. My Mom and I had a late meal, at the bar area on Sunday night. We had a beautiful mixed greens salad that had radishes, tomatoes topped with a buttermilk ranch dressing. It was so wonderful. We also had Sausage Penne Vodka pasta which was fantastic. The sausage was a little spicy, but I absolutely loved it. For dessert we decided to have the lemon blueberry cake which consisted of cream cheese frosting, lemon curd mixed with cake crumbles, topped with fresh blueberries bursting with flavor. It was so delicious. I highly recommend this dessert. The hotel room we stayed in had 2 Queen beds, a beautiful seating area with a table and 2 Blue high back leather chairs. These chairs looked like something that would be in someone's living room. They were extremely comfortable. There were 2 separate luggage areas that contained a small shelf area underneath for shoes. The closet was spacious with wooden hangers and had a safe plus an umbrella. The top of the dresser had a small coffee bar area that contained Everybody boxed water. One important point that I must mention is that in order to access your room your hotel key must be scanned in the elevator. This is a very nice safety feature that ensures only people staying in the hotel, can access the rooms, of the floors. The electricity in the room is controlled with the hotel key, it is smart electricity whichI is a nice feature. A light comes on once you enter the bathroom which is really nice. There are so many nice small touches in the bathroom. There is a complimentary blow dryer which saves space in your luggage since they provide this. Lockwood Shampoo, conditioner, and lotion are located in a nice dispenser, in the shower. The shower is spacious with a nice bench seat. It has a glass shower door that pivots inside and out. The entire bathroom is beautiful. The towels are located underneath the sink on a wooden shelf. There is also a nice touch with a scale. This hotel has thought of everything. The one thing I noticed was that there wasn't a Gideon's Bible in the room. I am used to staying in hotels that have a Bible. I left my Bible at home and really wanted to read one since my brother was having his surgery. Being a believer is the one thing that has gotten me through so much. I actually thought that a Bible might be located in the library.

Cleanliness and housekeeping: My room (225) was only cleaned once during my entire stay. Towels were refreshed occasionally, but bed linens were changed only once. I had to request room service four or five times before anyone came, and even then, the bathroom wasn't cleaned. The cleaning staff tried to reuse the same two-week-old duvet and mattress cover until I insisted everything be replaced -- and even then, they still put the old duvet back. I ended up having to wash linens myself because no one would properly clean the room, which is not something any guest should have to do. I literally had to strip both beds myself and take them downstairs in order to get clean linen. Unprofessional staff: I experienced multiple interactions with the front desk that were extremely unprofessional. One employee was dismissive, interrupted me repeatedly, and handed me wet towels as replacements. I even overheard staff admit that they had been instructed not to treat guests connected to programs the same way as regular paying guests -- and it definitely felt that way. Safety and disturbances: The hotel is very noisy. Guests were constantly stomping, fighting, and running up and down the halls. Dogs were barking in the middle of the night, and I had to deal with guests fighting next door. On one occasion, the overnight clerk was screaming and cursing loudly in the lobby with multiple guests present. It felt unsafe and chaotic. Broken amenities: The elevators were not working for much of my stay, forcing people of all ages to walk multiple flights of stairs. I even called the City of Aurora myself to report the different issues. The laundry facility was also broken, forcing guests to walk to a nearby laundromat, which is not a safe option in this neighborhood. Communication issues: There were clear language barriers with some housekeeping staff, and my repeated requests for service were ignored. I had to intervene multiple times just to get basic cleanliness addressed. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to families or anyone looking for a safe, clean, and professional stay. For over $5,000 for 60 days, the experience was horrific -- unclean rooms, unprofessional staff, safety issues, broken amenities, and ignored guest requests.
