Wow, my yesterday's visit to this historic park was so mesmerizing. It's because of their annual…read more(?) "Bright Nights" (originally a lantern festival.) It is said that they unveil a brand new theme each year and this year's theme appears to be focused on some Eastern cultures such as cherry blossom and bamboo forest with pandas. Not that I have been to many lights shows and yet I must say that I have never seen anything quite like this as far as my recollection is accurate. In its 12-acre land, the installations of lantern lights are everywhere. After 8:30pm or so when it's dark, the illuminations from the lanterns are glowing brighter than Las Vegas' illuminations (LOL - why am I comparing this to Las Vegas!!) According to the park's website, some of the sculptures are 23-foot tall (such as the cherry blossom gate.) It's currently open from Wednesday through Sunday until October 5th. And last night's was one of the adult-only nights where you must be 21+ to enter (I believe the next and last such night is Sept 17th. And this writing is as of late August of 2025.) I am already curious as to what the next year's theme is going to be. There is a centralized bar, some food vendors, a stage where a performer performs, and a DJ booth. Great for family time, girls' night or date night. Helpful staff were working tirelessly to assist all visitors. Although about 1,300 tickets were sold last night, it was never super jammed packed. There is still time to visit this enchanting light show. Not only for the locals but definitely one of the must-visit attractions for out-of-staters as well.

Every inch of the 12 acres had lights and even in the trees and bushes. So many details that it seemed realistic. Many of the lanterns were interactive such as stationary bikes or cranks to power the lights to glow even brighter. The staff were friendly and happy to help. This event is for young and old and I highly recommend going!

Parking was awful because the main entrance was blocked off, so we found a nearby school lot. It was a nice walk down to the marina. We headed straight to the bar and ordered White Claws and shots. Not sure if this is their typical alcohol selection or limited because of COVID-19. Either way, there was one bartender juggling all the patrons, and she was always friendly. Seating lined the outdoor patio facing the beach. My friend said there used to be live music here, but I guess we'll have to wait until the pandemic is over. For food, they only had basic hot dogs roasting in the oven and bags of chips. For how much we drank, I'm grateful there was anything. Overall it's a decent pub and a perfect spot to take the pups after a day in Cherry Creek park.

The amount of pillows on our beds were different daily which made us a bit wary. Our room had a fridge but no microwave. The microwave was down on the first floor which was inconvenient.

I've never had such a great experience with a venue as we had with The Curtis Ballroom. ALL the employees were above and beyond helpful, flexible, and super fast in responding to any question, any changes, just anything. We worked with a few different event planners which helps them be so fast. One person is out of office so another takes over. Brianna, Matt, and Tiffany were our coordinators along the way. Each one was efficient, helpful, courteous, flexible, and patient. We started with a basic contract, but it had to be amended a few times along the way... NO issue at all! SO accommodating! A reunion is hard to plan as people just don't want to pay or commit right away. This makes it hard for the committee to know how much food to order, how we're going to pay for all of this, etc. The fact that they were flexible was beyond helpful! There were many food choices and again they were so flexible with the picking and choosing of what to serve and how to serve it. Day of the event, they assisted us in decorating and making small changes. People loved the food. The bar was reasonably priced and had a decent selection! I thought this was nice as so often a venue bar has lackluster choices. All the people working the night of the event were smiling, happy, and once again... super helpful! I just can't thank them enough. I would highly recommend this place for any party/event and would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

This would make the movie 1/2 normal cost. The ticket person and the concessions crew had no information. It was R rated. I saw Fantasy Life released in 2024. It involved life & times of a New York Jewish family interacting with a male nanny (Manny?) in New York and St Martha's Vineyard. There was at least 30 people joining me in the theater. They also screen older movies like Red with Diane Keaton and Warren Beatty being screened next week. I plan to return.

Tragedy of unfulfilled potential and a profoundly disappointing stay in an otherwise OK property…read more For starters, I have been told four times that I should hear from the hotel management about this stay based on my feedback, and had nothing but crickets. The good: Reasonably located and fairly large Doubletree, a badge of Hilton that is typically pretty consistent at three stars. Nothing fancy, decent rooms, and, of course, the cookies... The disappointing: Called day before reservation to ask that my reservation reflect an allergy to feathers and a request for a non-allergenic room. EVERY OTHER DECENT HOTEL I HAVE EVER NOTIFIED OF THIS REQUEST has gladly accommodated it. Instead the agent said "can you please call us back tomorrow about this?" The correct, professional, and industry standard response is "of course sir, we'll note that in your reservation and I'll personally make sure the front desk and housekeeping have it taken care of." So, no surprise that upon my arrival there was feather bedding in the room. It was late, and the power was out, and to their credit the front desk was able to provide me with two foam pillows and a cotton comforter. But wow. And the Peleton bike didn't work. And I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that I was not the first person to notify them of that. Upon check out, the token apology. Wasn't until I *asked* if they were planning to do anything that I received a token credit. No sleep, allergic reaction, no workout...and a token discount. Super. I am a frequent business and personal traveler. This was a real miss on their part, as was the hotel management's consistent failure to follow up with me after I messaged them and was assured a response. Two stars is generous...but the cookies...mmmmm, the cookies....

There's a free set dinner every night (hot dogs, nachos, and a rotating themed dinner - BBQ, pasta, or fajita) with 3 free adult beverages per adult over 21. The room was clean, smelled good, and was pretty typical for a mid-range hotel. Beds were comfy and plenty of water pressure. The sound proofing was okay (could have been better, but not that bad either) except for the door. The morning breakfast was included and was better, with more choices, than most mid-range hotels. Every staff member we encountered smiled and seemed genuinely happy and friendly. The vibe and positive energy definitely sets this hotel apart from any place I've ever been. The only bummer was that the pool and hot tub were down for maintenance/repair during our visit.

Good shower pressure but toilet seat would always hit you when using the bathroom which was annoying. Poor quality towels but nice shower products. Secondary elevator had either an animal or human pee smell which was a bit gross. The interior needs an update for sure.
