Awards & Induction Ceremony for SMDRA
    JoJo E.

Business event for SMDRA and I was pleasantly surprised by the lovely decor and arrangement of tables and chairs. They had two buffet lines of really delicious food and a cash bar. The DJ was far too loud. I didn't like that.

3/20-22/26- renewing my one star review. I have been attending events here for over 20 years. Everything from Starfest, to gem & mineral shows, to anime cons. Ever since the remodel their ideas of customer service took a massive dive. Now they have a new policy where you can't bring in outside food. No matter what they say, this is a new policy. Like I said before, I have been going to this hotel for more then 20 years and rating them for at least the last 5. So yes this is new and it is bad customer service. All the leadership for this hotel needs fired, and they need to get new people in that care about customer service. They keep this up and events will leave and new events will know not to waste their time here.

This is a standard Marriot hotel. I was here for some meetings and the hotel was adequate. The room was just ok, they do need to quality control the room service though. The towels were stuffed into the holding area and not folded and the cleaning crew walked in when I was in the room without knocking. The gym was above average and so was the restaurant.

Great service, love that the workout room has Pelotons--but they don't have earbuds for the machines. The window shades (mentioned in other reviews) are semi-transparent so people can look in--especially because the balcony was shared! It also made me wake up early the first morning, not realizing what they were like. They host conferences and this can be annoying if you're there not for the conference being held there. Ubers also kept canceling on me here so they took time to call one. This was a good location for my work conference located at Microsoft, but the area is very car-dependent and not very pedestrian-friendly. The bike lanes did not look very safe (they weren't protected.)

I'm surprised to see this hotel has so many bad reviews. The hotel is very modern, open, and clean. I love the aesthetic and vibe which is why I come back. The member lounge is very nice and has a lot of natural light. The member lounge food is not the best but they have sodas water and snack which is convenient. Rooms are clean and big. I personally love the beds and lighting. It's always been super clean when I've gone. Parking is a very annoying (you have to pay $15/night). Best to use the side door near the member lounge. I haven't tried the restaurant on-site but if I do I'll make sure to leave a review. Overall, I don't have an issue with this Marriott

    Bites after a nap

My fiancé and I stayed here last weekend for his birthday, we flew in from Texas. We checked in on a Friday, and checked out on Sunday. From the looks of it the room was fairly clean however, we took a nap and one woke up with small, itchy, red bumps on my legs. I'm certain there were bed bugs in our room. I have put in a complaint directly with the front desk and customer service. I am waiting to hear back on this.

In room water charge, but not even the right brand. They have free water bottles at front desk if you ask.

Torn here with this stay. I'm an elite Marriot member. I went here from living in Denver and knowing other business colleagues staying here before, knowing the area and being a fan of Marriott overall. But when I ended up needing to stay here as an out of towner, it was a bit disappointing. The rooms have nice updates over all and were clean, but a lot lacking on overall hotel management and details. A major aggravation is that they charge for parking here, which I booked through a travel company not directly through Marriott or this hotel, and the front desk response is that the info is on their website so FYI. This area is not what would be expected for that charge and feels underhanded as the lot isn't even secured or covered parking; it is just gated to control drive in access. Insult to injury, system didn't work to let me in the parking as it was supposed to, where I had to wiggle back out around line of cars to get back to front desk to get it worked out. Checked in on the app earlier on my arrival date, and even though I had called and checked that my online check in went through and all was OK for me showing up later, when I showed up later in the evening in person, I was told they oversold the rooms and couldn't provide the room I booked. Ended up stuck with a terrible room with a window to the roof HVAC, right up against it. Not sure what the point was for checking in on the app prior to my arrival. ???? I was told there were only two rooms left, with the second room they tried to put me in not having working AC, so they offered to reach out to another hotel Marriot property close by to see if they could put me in a room there, but it would not be for the rate I booked, and I would have to shuffle between two hotels over my 2 night stay; miraculously they found another room to put me in after the manager "opened" more rooms, but it was exact same situation of being windowed right up to their roof HVAC, just down from the initial room. & this was after I had said, "I just want a quite room where the AC works." At this point I took the room after a long day of travel. Regarding the in room AC, it turns out, ALL of their rooms have this new configuration hotels are going to where you can adjust the temp, but not the fan. It took forever for the room to actually get cool, but it slowly worked. Hospitality is all the little things. The in room coffee was all decaf. The bottled water had a tag for $5 specifically for "Aspen water," & "charged upon consumption," but then one bottle with the tag on it was some other brand no where near same level of the Aspen Brand. Called the front desk to get some regular coffee for the room, and someone hung up the phone without saying hello. Called back and reached someone to get regular coffee, and house keeping brought me more decaf. Shower faucet dial wasn't correctly installed but it worked. Oh and FYI - you can ask the front desk for some regular bottled water for free. It was never offered to me at check-in, but someone else happened to walk up while I was trying to get a room, and asked. The front desk agent I checked in with, did seem to be trying but the lack of insight of putting me right back in another room exactly like the first one, no awareness or acknowledgement of it up front, was very frustrating They did offer to comp one of my evenings for all of the hassle, which upon check out, found out that she did not follow through with that. The check out agent made that right and added additional comp of the parking.

Denver Marriott Tech Center is expansive as well as having beautiful common areas with art & sculptures throughout the facility. Service in the elite's M Club is excellent. Great for large conferences.

This is a very good hotel if you are visiting the area, it's literally on-stop shopping. The hotel is extremely large, and has a large restaurant, bar, fitness center and numerous banquet rooms on the premise. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the rooms were very clean in spacious. I stayed in a king room, which had a full sectional sofa to lounge around. My only drawback is the hotel parking was a little pricey, but overall this was a great stay. I highly recommend this hotel.

Do they provide a free continental breakfast?

I don't think they do for everyone. As a Titanium member they have me a voucher for breakfast from the Starbucks style restaurant. It was actually pretty delicious but had I not been Titanium I donno if I would have gotten anything.

The location really can't be beat. You're right in the heart of LoDo. Coors Field is a few blocks from the hotel and Union Station (which connects directly to Denver Airport) is only about a 5 minute walk away. Tons of restaurants, bars, and things to do are all within walking distance, which makes it extremely convenient. When booking, I asked for a high floor, quiet room so I could work. Upon check-in, they honored that request and also upgraded my room from a Journeyman to an Innovator Suite which I greatly appreciated. That upgrade definitely elevated the stay! The Innovator Suite was fantastic. It had two queen beds, two TVs, a full sofa, wet bar, dining table, flexible workspace, and city views overlooking Denver's LoDo District. The bathroom had a large soaking tub, which I had to take advantage off. There's no balcony and while the wet bar includes a small fridge, it's not really functional for anything beyond drinks as there's no space for leftovers or larger items. You also get a token per night to redeem for a free drink at the bar during happy hour, plus free drip coffee in the mornings. Other perks include free churros during social hour, a courtesy car service within a 2 mile radius, and discounts at various shops. There's also a fitness center, although I didn't use it. There were some things missing though: no pool, no spa, housekeeping is by request only, and no breakfast included. Service throughout was excellent. There's 24 hour front desk service and everyone I interacted with was cheerful, helpful, and kind. Overall, a strong stay with great service, a fantastic room upgrade, and an excellent location, even if a few expected amenities were missing for the price. If I had to come back to Denver and the company was covering the bill, I would stay again. The location really can't be beat. If I were coming for a leisure trip with a similar budget, I'd probably look for a hotel with a pool and spa instead. This hotel is best suited for people who want to experience LoDo nightlife, catch a game, or just be right in the middle of everything downtown. The room I was upgraded to was probably much more expensive than what I actually paid, which definitely improved the experience. I'm not sure I would feel the same way if I had stayed in the original room I booked. 4.5 stars rounded down.

Breakfast is served daily, it's supposed to be until 10, I would leave to drop my son off and be back at 0945 and daily they would be cleaning out the food options. The first 5 days the cereal was Cheerios and labeled gluten free, the other container had lucky charms and was labeled as Chex gluten free. Thank goodness my child knew that it was lucky charms and indeed gluten. The internet was spotty, I was working from the premises the entire time and often had to use my own hotspot. The washing machine for guest use requires quarters, which you have to buy from the front desk with cash. Two times the washer broke during use and I had to bag soaking wet clothes to hand over to maintenance to take to be washed. There is only one washer and dryer. Very disappointing for a long length of stay. Also in the age of technology there are several hotels that laundry is managed with an app, allowing me to pay via app and see how much long is left and if the machines are available. There is a lack of trash receptacles in the hotel. There are none on each floor by the elevator. Myself as well as others on our floor would leave a bag of trash outside of our room daily as we don't want our room to smell like the food we ate all day/night. On our first full day here we took it down to look for a trash can and the one outside the front doors where people unload their vehicle was overflowing, we noted this multiple days of our stay. Housekeeping were friendly in the halls, they service rooms once every 3 days. Since I was working in the room and I kept the room clean we used the sign on the door to opt to have them come when we were ready. If I saw them in the halls it was easy to get trash bags, towels and cups. One day we requested service and sat in the lobby working all day and they never came by. Keep in mind it's a refresh, our bed was already made and we keep our room clean, I just wanted a tidy of the bathroom counter, towels etc. I had to reach out to the front desk to ask around 415 for service but it needed to be quick because we were coming back to the room. They were able to oblige and serviced it quickly. The refrigerators are very small and not cold, perhaps an option in some rooms for people with lengthier stays to have a larger refrigerator and freezer options. We couldn't purchase any frozen items for our lengthy stay with only a small fridge. The location is nice, easy to get to anywhere on campus or to the downtown area, performing arts area etc. several Ubers are often in the area for further driving needs. Over all of we came to Denver for a long stay I might consider staying here but would look at options with better amenities for food and wash. For a short stay it would meet my needs.

They had other types of food, obviously, but steak was in plentiful abundance over anything. The housekeeping staff was amazing and on top of their game. The room quality was very good and spacious; larger than most hotels' suites. The in-room bar and mini-fridge were not free despite being labeled an "honor bar." I'm not cheap; I have no issue paying. My issue is the deceptive marketing of the so-called honor bar. The room's furniture was not cheap, but it did appear tacky with the illusion of being of quality. On the positive side, the staff were polite and attentive, and the room was cleaned while I was out. The view was also very impressive. Overall, with all things considered, I'd pick a different hotel; there are better hotels in the immediate area with a lower price tag and the spa is not worth it, despite its attentive and fantastic service.
