I was recommended this vet a few years back as a last resort to save my very sick dog..she ended up passing but I understood the risks with how ill she was. Recently I went back to take my 9 yr old English bull terrier after noticing her be really sick. I called out of work on a Monday and took her in last minute. The doctors did blood work, an ultra sound, and X-rays. The vet got me medication and sent me home. Within a few days my dog was feeling much better. I went back a few days later to see the cardiologist and the following week my dog had surgery. It was risky because of her heart condition but she did really well and now she's going on almost two weeks since the surgery and she's feeling much better. This vet just gave my dog an extra few years of life. I am so grateful for the team. They saved me a lot of money compared to the vet here in the states. Sometime they are really busy and running behind schedule but I still believe it's worth it. Make the drive and take your pet to this location. Also, please spay your dogs because it can later lead to breast cancers!

I would've given this place five stars, but there was a billing issue during a return visit. The staff were amazing and took great care of my cat after he broke his leg. My girlfriend translated for me, and I was told that when I brought him back to have the pins removed, I would only need to pay for anesthesia and medication. Since I had already prepaid in full, they even noted this on the discharge paperwork. Unfortunately, I threw the paperwork away before the appointment. When I returned, I was charged about $200 and told there were no notes indicating the pin removal was covered. A different doctor performed the procedure, which may have contributed to the charge. I expected to pay for anesthesia and medication, but not the additional fee. I paid it, and lesson learned: keep your paperwork. Aside from this issue, the staff were caring, professional, and provided excellent care for my cat. It seemed like a communication issue, but overall I had a positive experience. This will not prevent me from returning in the future.- but I will keep your paperwork!

Rey after surgery with her fav stuffie. Photo was sent from the overnight staff during her hospital stay.

Dr. Sara and the entire team at this vet office are so kind and responsive. We took my dog here for ventral slot surgery and it's like she got a new lease on life. I'm so grateful to have found this vet office so close to downtown San Diego.

Ok so if you're looking for the sign to cross the border to TJ for Vet care, this is it! I was recommended Hospivet through multiple women in my dog mom group and was skeptical at first like most people would be. But OMG! I went yesterday to take my boy in for dental care and am SO glad I did! I want to start with the staff! Alex (one of the receptionists) speaks nearly perfect English and was so helpful throughout everything. She's so kind and everyone there are just all around dog people. I had Dr. Andrea and she was so thorough and made me feel comfortable throughout everything. She was knowledgeable and just passionate about what she does. I live in OC so I made the 2 hour drive down and parked at one of those secured parking places and felt safe all day! Saved probably close to $1k and my best friend has a sparkling mouth and had a tooth extraction! I will be coming here again and recommending to every pawrent I know!

After her dental cleaning and SIX extractions; she's doing great!

Very professional, affordable and honest. I ended up working with both veterinarians, Alejandra and Sara, and I had a great experience. My first visit resulted in a blood test for the dental cleaning plus a biopsy on a growth on the side of my dog's abdomen. They were communicative and informed me that the growth was a benign fatty tumor and did not need to be removed unless I wanted it to; I appreciated their honesty about that. I took my dog in a week later and they completed the dental cleaning in about 3 hours which included 6 extractions. The whole procedure went very well and was very affordable. Also they are pretty close to the border and I was able to purchase medical passes to cut most of the line at the border. I highly recommend Hospivet.

They were amazing when my wife and I brought our dog, Maple, who was dealing with Cushing's Disease. They were gentle and through in their exams. They gave us the medication needed for our beautiful girl. We drove from near LA and it was worth it.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND Club de Nana! I live in San Diego, and over…read morethe years I tried a couple of vets in Tijuana, but honestly, I never felt comfortable with them. It often felt like the nicer the place looked, the less they actually cared about the pets. Because of that, I gave up and kept paying the ridiculous vet prices in San Diego... until I simply couldn't take it anymore. Thank God I found Club de Nana on Yelp. After reading all the great reviews (and yes, they're REAL), I decided to give them a chance, and I'm so glad I did! From the moment I walked in, I could tell this place was different. The entire staff truly cares about every pet that comes in. They don't see animals as $$$ signs, they listen, they explain, and they care about your fur babies. My first green flag was seeing multiple pets being cared for behind the front desk, literally hanging out freely instead of being locked in cages, I absolutely LOVED THAT!! There are no appointments, you just wait your turn. I've been there four times, and only once did I wait for my turn about 15-20 minutes. Every other visit was less than 5 minutes. The clinic looks like a house from the outside, so parking is limited, but even then I only had to wait about 10 minutes once. I took my 7-year-old pittie because he was bleeding while peeing. They ran different tests, diagnosed him with an enlarged prostate, and recommended surgery (neutering). It's now been 11 days since he got surgery at El Club de Nana, his stitches are out, the bleeding is completely gone, and he's happier and has so much more energy. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to the doctors Lulu and Francisco, and the staff at Club de Nana. I have my healthy, happy boy back, and I couldn't be more grateful .

My dog recovered beautifully and has seriously never been happier. For anyone thinking about making the trip across, it is incredibly manageable and entirely worth it: Top-Tier Care: They maintain strict American standards for everything, from the overall care to the medications they use. I felt completely confident in their medical expertise the whole time. Easy Logistics: The trip was a breeze. I just took the trolley straight to the border and walked right over to the clinic, all on the same day. Great Communication: They are super responsive on WhatsApp, which made coordinating everything so easy. If you run into a slight language barrier, it's a total non-issue--a quick translation app solves it instantly. Finding trustworthy, high-quality dental care for your pet can be stressful, but this team is professional, accessible, and amazing at what they do. I'm so grateful for how well they treated my dog!

PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE BRINGING YOUR PET HERE, ESPECIALLY FOR SURGERY!…read more I am sharing my experience because I would never want another pet owner to go through what my husband and I experienced at Dr. Zoo. What should have been an emergency surgery for our French bulldog turned into one of the most stressful and heartbreaking experiences of our lives. We dropped off our French bulldog on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. for emergency surgery, believing she would be operated on promptly. Throughout the day, I repeatedly called for updates, only to be told that her surgery kept getting pushed back. She did not undergo surgery until Wednesday at approximately 4:00 a.m., nearly 20 HOURS after we dropped her off. I still question why an emergency surgery was delayed for so long, especially when we were being charged for her overnight stay. At approximately 4:00 a.m., we received a call informing us that her surgery had gone well. However, around 11:00 a.m., we received another call stating that there had been a complication and that our dog needed a SECOND surgery, which would cost approximately another $400. After her second surgery, I went to visit her, only to be told that she now needed a blood transfusion. At this point, I was extremely frustrated and emotionally exhausted. I questioned the staff about how so many complications continued to arise. The staff member I spoke with told me that complications cannot always be anticipated. While I understand that complications can happen during surgery, I believe a facility performing emergency procedures should be prepared to recognize and manage them appropriately. To make matters worse, I was told that I needed to find a donor dog MYSELF, bring that dog to their facility, and have it tested to determine whether it could donate blood to my dog. This would involve additional testing and expenses. I was shocked that after everything my dog had endured, we were now responsible for finding a blood donor while she supposedly needed an urgent transfusion. At that point, I had completely lost confidence in this facility and decided to take my dog elsewhere. I will never forget carrying my French bulldog out of that hospital, crying while she lay exhausted in my arms. I requested ALL her laboratory results, medical records, and surgical reports so I could take her to another veterinarian. It took approximately an hour for the staff to gather the available paperwork, and I was told the surgical reports would not be sent to my WhatsApp until 3-5 days later. Why should it take that long to receive records for a dog who had just undergone two surgeries and needed continued medical attention? I could not waste any more time waiting. My husband drove me and our dog to another veterinary hospital, then returned to Dr. Zoo to collect the paperwork. When we arrived at the new veterinary hospital, we were informed that our dog did NOT need a blood transfusion at that time, although her condition was critical and required close monitoring. This was extremely concerning after everything we had been told at Dr. Zoo. Thankfully, our French bulldog is now doing well. I thank God every day that she survived this experience, and I am incredibly relieved that my husband and I decided to transfer her care. What made this experience even more upsetting was that, as I was leaving Dr. Zoo, another woman told me she had previously brought two of her dogs to this facility and that both had passed away. Although I cannot speak to the circumstances of her experience, hearing that while carrying my own dog out was heartbreaking. During my time there, I also witnessed other pet owners crying and visibly distressed over their animals. I understand veterinary emergencies are emotional and complications can happen. However, the lack of communication, repeated unexpected expenses, delays, and overall handling of my dog's care left me extremely disappointed. My biggest concern was NEVER the money. I was willing to pay whatever was necessary to save my dog's life. My concern was the lack of trust, transparency, and confidence I felt in the care she was receiving. The repeated charges and complications made me question whether my dog's well-being was truly being prioritized. I cannot say for certain why her surgery was delayed or whether every additional procedure was necessary, but the entire experience left me feeling that financial charges were taking priority over clear communication and compassionate care. I would NEVER bring another one of my pets here for surgery. Please research your options, ask questions, request your pet's medical records, and seek a second opinion whenever possible. Our pets are FAMILY. We trust veterinary professionals with their lives, especially when they are at their most vulnerable. That trust should never be taken lightly. PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE BRINGING YOUR PET HERE
