I took my senior maltipoo here after a family friend recommended them for dental work. I went early on a Monday morning and was the first customer there when they opened. I used Google Translate to explain to the medical staff his issues (heart murmur/failure, horrible teeth). Then the veterinarian that spoke English arrived and saw him. He explained what they would do and I left him there for a couple hours. They extracted 3 teeth and cleaned his remaining teeth and gave aftercare medicine and instructions! Wabi is doing great and his remaining teeth look amazing! This was at a fraction of the cost of the quotes I got from his vet in OC. They only take cash! Highly recommend! Pro tip - if you have global entry, register your car so you can take the fast sentri lanes. I went back to SD to eat breakfast with family while I waited for Wabi to be ready. Also, try to go on a weekday since they don't take appointments and it's first come, first served. If they are busy they may make you come back another day for the procedure. If you think your dog may need to undergo anesthesia - refrain from giving them food/water before you visit. read more

Medical care was on point. Doc took excellent care of my son for a foxtail he got in his eye and subsequent scratched cornea. He was very thorough in providing medicine administration and follow-up visit. Parking SUCKS! So be prepared to go around and around the block, walk, or double park. Office is small and humble. I don't care about that, others may. The wait time is looooong.... But we'll worth it for the care received in this small vet. Extremely reasonable prices. 1- star less because of parking. read more

Everything is seems fine, prices are reasonable. Only one thing minus, they don't speak English. When you call from US they don't understand you. And to ask one question you have to go personally visit the clinic. Please hire somebody who speaks at least a little bit English then you can answer some questions over the phone. English is my second language actually but I guess I have to learn Spanish just to go visit this clinic and I will. read more

I found this vet on San Diego Humane Society low cost vets under : resources.sdhumane.org They have Wonderful Reviews although they are located in Tijuana it's fairly close to the border. The phone receptionist was very attentive and spoke English would not hesitate to bring my pet here. We had a cancelled appoitment due to Vet had an emergency so we called Dr. Gordian and explained and he was very considerate about our situation since our dog hadn't eat or had anything to drink as he was ready for surgery but thanks to Dr. Our boy was taken care if immediately for which we are greatful. I have been coming to this Vet for years. I can vouch that the doctor truly cares for all the animals that come in. My female Rottweiler was seen here to get spayed. My male pitbull was seen here to get neutered. Each surgery at a reasonable and affordable price, compared to many other vets in the US. I can't remember the exact price but i could give a guesstimate of about $200-$400 US dollars (this also included the overnight stay for the female only bcs she was not too good after the surgery, my male came home with me the same day). My Rottweiler was playing and hurt herself and she would bark in so much pain. I brought her here the next morning and they did x-rays on her and went over my options. That visit was no more than $100 US dollars with medicine included. My oldest female pitbull got sick and i had no clue was it was. She was turning yellow and wasn't not eating or drinking water she was not herself. I brought her in and the doctor told me flat out she was dying. She had been for three days she had pyometra. The doctor and the whole team there did everything they could she stayed for a few nights and they literally saved her bcs she was eating and drinking water again and was so happy to see me when i came to get her. Also a bill of about $400 or more with the medication. Today im here with my child hood dog. She is 11 years old and we tried taking her to a Vet close to home in Rosarito and they wanted to do surgery on her leg and charge $17,000 pesos. We came here the next day and the doctor confirmed surgery was too risky for a dog her age. They popped the bone back into place and but some screws. Sent her home with medication and a cone. That visit was $3500 pesos. We are here today to get the screws removed and follow up with how she's doing. She's is walking,eating,pooping and wagging her tail. Took my dog to this place from Los Angeles to Mexico Tijuana. Doctors where I live by where telling me different things and that my dog wasn't going to make it. Then they tried charging me thousands of dollars plus to perform emergency surgery . I decided to take dog to Mexico and have someone else look at him and perform surgery right alway same day service thank god and paid under $700. Took time off my busy schedule because this place seemed good, per the reviews I read. Called twice about getting a health certificate for my dog. They said no problem. Got there (after waiting almost an hour, on a sign that said be back in 30) and had them look over documentation for my pet only for them to tell me that they didn't have signed copies of the forms I was requesting and that the vet was not in to sign. I asked if they could just email or send the certification by mail (I was willing to pay the postage). They said they didn't do that. Infuriating that they were unwilling to accommodate. The day was pretty much wasted for a 15 minute consult that resulted in us not getting the certificate because they were out of signed copies (which they could have told us over the phone when we called earlier that day). Very unprofessional and unhelpful. Luckily, we were able to find vet that was open: el club de Nana. Highly recommend this vet instead. Excellent service and amazing bed side manner. read more

Do not trust your pet overnight. My mom has taken him 3 dogs in separate occasions and all of them did not survive. I think they leave them overnight and no one is there to care for them in case of an emergency. read more

Took my dog in with heart condition that needed teeth cleaning, I was very nervous at first but he took proper procedures to make sure my Patron would be able to get through procedure. A great experience and saved me a ton of money. I came from North county San Diego. My local vet quoted me $3k for a tooth that had become infected and needed extraction. The next day I took my yellow lab to Dr gordian. I didn't tell him anything that I already knew and within minutes he told me the exact same thing my US vet told me and asked me the same questions about my dogs age and health concerns. That made me feel very confident. We did have to wait a week to schedule the surgery, but I was given pain meds and antibiotics. The surgery was yesterday and my dog is home and doing great. In total everything was under $300. You do have to realize that the facilities aren't what you would see in the states and you do need to deal with the border crossing and have some Spanish understanding. Excellent vet! Took in my small dog because he had a foxtail on his eye. He ended up having an ulcerated cornea - it was pretty bad. 1st appointment was with a younger veterinarian and he took the time to explain everything to me (I speak Spanish). They have my dog drops (antibiotics, and also for pain), and an eye ointment. 7 days later, I returned to have Dr. Gordian check his eye. He changed his medication since all looked improved. He was thorough and Rx'd a very good treatment. Consult was approx $650 pesos ($30-ish US dollars), plus $30 for medication, and $25 for injected antibiotic/pain med/sedation. 2nd visit was only charged for meds. The clinic is small and unassuming (with great vet care), it's in El Cento about a 10 min drive on the same road you come across on. I will warn you, parking is HORRIBLE..... HoWEVER, the care my dog received, and the savings over the cost in San Diego was well worth the issue. It's '1st come, 1st served', with emergencies taken as they come in. I think they have 4 vets in staff. If you're fine dealing with parking issues, and okay with doctors focused on the fur-patient instead of making small talk, all while getting good care and saving $$$$$, take your furbaby to Dr. Gordian. He is a very good doctor and well experienced. I had my dog for 16 yrs and several times he saved my dog. In august of 2010 a truck ran over him and went to Dr. Gordián around 9:30-10pm he doesn't do emergencies but he came in and had to out my dog to sleep I have taken my sick cat and saved her too. She lasted 19 yrs. it's easy to get here if you come from SD and prices are very affordable and he will explain everything and what he will do and will ask you if you want to proceed. My cat ate my hair ties and stopped eating drinking and pooping for four days, I was forcing water down his throat to keep him alive. I spent $600 in X-rays and exams here in the US and he needed surgery...or had to be put down for $200. I had neverrrrr been to Mexico by myself let alone driven down there. I went in desperation on Symba's 5th day after crying my eyes out at the vet because I just couldn't pay another $2500 being that I have a baby on the way. Honestly this review is over due. I frantically left the US vet, and drove myself to Tijuana without an appointment. Dr. Gordian was not in the office but the receptionist called him and within the hour he showed up... I don't know if it was luck or what!! I would have paid $2500 for surgery in the US and ended up spending less that $200 American dollars there for the same life saving surgery. (Mind you, I had already spent $600 dollars here on X-rays and exams, the $2500 was on top of that) In all honesty, it's not a TOP notch facility or the type of service you receive here. It was raw, and you need to be able to handle it. Here they take your pet away and you see them later when they're recovered. They stay in their care and clean them up you pay for red carpet service at a premium. When I say raw I mean...he took him back, saw the X-rays, injected him then and there as I held him. (That wouldn't happen here they take your pet away to the back) and as soon as he started going down, began to shave him. I had tears in my eyes watching. I said good bye and left for a couple hours. Came back and he was in the back room, coming to, in a kennel and ready for me to take home. He wasn't cleaned up. He was fresh out of surgery and stitched up, and I was given the meds to inject him at home. The vet taught me how to, its simple actually, and I had to clean off the crap or stomach bile that was on him that came out. The incision was cleannn and well stitched and I'm very thankful for that experience. They did the job he needed to save his life, paying way less to do the dirty work myself was well worth it. It was a true life saving bonding experience that took a ton of bravery on my part and I don't feel taken advantage of. Very experienced vet, doesn't get enough credit in my opinion. My stepmom also recently went down to take her Lab who sliced his paw on glass while running through a field and it cost $60 to get him cleaned and stitched up. I've been meaning to leave a review for this place for the last two years.. I have a pug named appa. Age 7 now. At age 5 he started having a weird limp on his right rear leg and it started to get concerning after a week. I took him to an American Vet in Los Angeles where he was diagnosed with a dislocated knee cap. After X-rays alone I was $500 in. They gave me a rundown of what everything would consists of. MRI's, surgery, recovery process, meds etc.. quoted $8,000. I panicked. My mom told me about this vet in TJ who studied in America, but wanted to be affordable for families so went to practice in Tijuana. I went there on my first visit without telling him what was wrong with him and he gave me the same diagnostic! (Reassurance he knew what he was doing). After surgery X-rays and meds in Mexico I was in $400... FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had two follow up appointments to make sure everything was healing properly and it was!! My son walks as if nothing ever happened and continues to live a normal life. I swear by this place and recommend everyone to go here. Money was a huge issue at the time, so I was desperate and it was the best decision I've ever done!! I will forever trust this place with all my pets. read more
