I am so incredibly grateful to Hospivet for taking care of my dog, Chili. Chili suffered a fractured jaw and needed surgery, and I was having such a difficult time finding a veterinarian who could help us. I went to several other places and was turned away, but the receptionist at Hospivet was truly my hero. She went above and beyond to get Chili seen **as a walk-in without an appointment** when we desperately needed help. I will never forget that kindness. The price was a little high, but it was still **far more affordable than what veterinarians in California were quoting me**, and I am very thankful we were able to get Chili the treatment he needed. Dr. Gutierrez did an amazing job with Chili's first surgery. She took the time to explain what was going on with Chili and helped me understand the situation. I also really appreciated that they sent me a **video and a picture of Chili the following day**. As a worried pet parent, being able to see him and know how he was doing meant so much to me. Chili is definitely a little stubborn--he has been giving them a hard time about keeping his muzzle on--but the staff has been patient and is working on other options to keep him comfortable and safe. We are currently waiting for a response regarding Chili's **second surgery**, so we are still hoping and praying everything works out. But I want to take a moment to recognize Hospivet and their staff for helping us when we were turned away elsewhere. **Thank you, Hospivet, and especially the receptionist who made sure Chili was seen. You are truly my hero! ** I am so grateful that you opened your doors to us when Chili needed help the most read more

The 3 star is for the receptionist! We first came to this clinic about four months ago when our dog was very sick, and we had a great experience with Dr. Sayra. She was kind, compassionate, spoke perfect English, kept us updated throughout the visit, and took the time to explain our dog's condition and treatment plan clearly. She made an incredibly stressful situation much easier, and we're very grateful for the care she provided. We also saw the cardiologist while we were there. Although he seemed knowledgeable, he wasn't very friendly and often appeared annoyed when we asked questions. As worried pet owners, we were simply trying to understand our dog's condition, so his attitude was disappointing. Unfortunately, our recent experiences with the front desk have been frustrating. Last month, when our dog needed to be seen urgently, we couldn't get an appointment. The receptionist told us to take her to another clinic. We requested a referral, but our message was completely ignored. This week, I tried scheduling an appointment a few days in advance. The receptionist asked for my name and my dog's name so she could look us up in the system. After I provided the information, she never responded back. I followed up the next morning, and my message was still ignored. This was a completely different experience from the receptionist we dealt with four months ago, who always responded promptly and was very helpful. Dr. Sayra deserves five stars for her excellent care, but the lack of communication and responsiveness from the front desk has been very disappointing. When you're dealing with a sick pet, timely communication matters just as much as good medical care. I hope the clinic improves its customer service because their veterinarians deserve better support. I'd recommend to go down the street to New Vet. They are helpful and responsive! read more

I am so grateful to Hospivet for removing a foxtail from my dog's nose. In Los Angeles the price was out of my ability to pay. HospiVet did an outstanding job and I happily paid their fee, less than $400.00 I thought I might have to put my dog to sleep if I could not get him the relief he needed. He stopped eating and I stopped eating because this was such a big problem for us both. After Buddy's successful operation, I recommended HospiVet on Nextdoor many times. read more

I've been going here for ten years. I've used others including the hospital in playas. I find the doctors on the staff at Hospivet to be the most kind, considerate professional, knowledgeable people. I was recommended this vet a few years back as a last resort to save my very sick dog..she ended up passing but I understood the risks with how ill she was. Recently I went back to take my 9 yr old English bull terrier after noticing her be really sick. I called out of work on a Monday and took her in last minute. The doctors did blood work, an ultra sound, and X-rays. The vet got me medication and sent me home. Within a few days my dog was feeling much better. I went back a few days later to see the cardiologist and the following week my dog had surgery. It was risky because of her heart condition but she did really well and now she's going on almost two weeks since the surgery and she's feeling much better. This vet just gave my dog an extra few years of life. I am so grateful for the team. They saved me a lot of money compared to the vet here in the states. Sometime they are really busy and running behind schedule but I still believe it's worth it. Make the drive and take your pet to this location. Also, please spay your dogs because it can later lead to breast cancers! read more

I would've given this place five stars, but there was a billing issue during a return visit. The staff were amazing and took great care of my cat after he broke his leg. My girlfriend translated for me, and I was told that when I brought him back to have the pins removed, I would only need to pay for anesthesia and medication. Since I had already prepaid in full, they even noted this on the discharge paperwork. Unfortunately, I threw the paperwork away before the appointment. When I returned, I was charged about $200 and told there were no notes indicating the pin removal was covered. A different doctor performed the procedure, which may have contributed to the charge. I expected to pay for anesthesia and medication, but not the additional fee. I paid it, and lesson learned: keep your paperwork. Aside from this issue, the staff were caring, professional, and provided excellent care for my cat. It seemed like a communication issue, but overall I had a positive experience. This will not prevent me from returning in the future.- but I will keep your paperwork! read more

Ok so if you're looking for the sign to cross the border to TJ for Vet care, this is it! I was recommended Hospivet through multiple women in my dog mom group and was skeptical at first like most people would be. But OMG! I went yesterday to take my boy in for dental care and am SO glad I did! I want to start with the staff! Alex (one of the receptionists) speaks nearly perfect English and was so helpful throughout everything. She's so kind and everyone there are just all around dog people. I had Dr. Andrea and she was so thorough and made me feel comfortable throughout everything. She was knowledgeable and just passionate about what she does. I live in OC so I made the 2 hour drive down and parked at one of those secured parking places and felt safe all day! Saved probably close to $1k and my best friend has a sparkling mouth and had a tooth extraction! I will be coming here again and recommending to every pawrent I know! read more

They have several patients from the USA they come highly recommended for their affordability. Hours are a bit off

I can't say enough great things about Dr. Sara and the entire team at Hospivet! She was absolutely amazing with my snappy anxious chihuahua, so gentle, kind, and incredibly patient. From the moment we walked in, she took her time with us and made sure my dog felt safe and comfortable. Dr. Sara didn't rush through the exam at all. She carefully explained what might be going on, was honest about treatment options, and made sure I fully understood everything before moving forward. You can tell she genuinely cares about her patients and their humans. After a frustrating and expensive urgent care visit in San Diego that gave me no answers I decided to look for alternatives down south and I am happy I did. My fur baby is still recovering and I am so happy and at ease to know I have a trust worthy vet team who I can turn to for anything she might need. read more

Don't take your dog here they will just take your money and tell you bullshit took my dog to a different hospital to find out they were killing my dog. Save yourself guys do not trust them here. One of the worst feelings is trusting someone who was supposed to help your loved one never will be here again. Look somewhere else for the help. Disappointed and frustrated wish we had honest vets in the world. Don't believe the overnight care they just dope up you're dogs and don't watch them over night save yourself the trouble of coming here look for a place with 24/7 care and actually keep you updated through the night. Love your dogs people if you take them here they might not live long read more

Very professional, affordable and honest. I ended up working with both veterinarians, Alejandra and Sara, and I had a great experience. My first visit resulted in a blood test for the dental cleaning plus a biopsy on a growth on the side of my dog's abdomen. They were communicative and informed me that the growth was a benign fatty tumor and did not need to be removed unless I wanted it to; I appreciated their honesty about that. I took my dog in a week later and they completed the dental cleaning in about 3 hours which included 6 extractions. The whole procedure went very well and was very affordable. Also they are pretty close to the border and I was able to purchase medical passes to cut most of the line at the border. I highly recommend Hospivet. read more

It is an excellent vet and close to the border in Zona Urbana Rio. They mostly speak English which is helpful as well. I took my dog there to be evaluated by a cardiologist in August (they have one that comes from Mexico City a couple times a month). She had a heart murmur and needed to be evaluated but in the USA it was going to cost $800 to $900. Hospivet charged me $215 and with the medications prescribed it was around $370 ($103 for Pimobendan and $48 for Ramipril). I would like to return in a few months to get her teeth cleaned under anesthesia if my dog can handle the procedure with her heart. It is a little difficult to get there with Uber so I would put in Facil Rent a car address which is a neighboring business next time (that is, iI can get my phone to to work - the network is spotty in TJ with Verizon and it hardly worked at all with AT&T). read more

I came to Hospivet because vet procedures in the U.S. can be really expensive, and honestly I didn't fully know what to expect besides what I had seen online. But I had a really good experience. The staff was super friendly and professional, and you can tell they genuinely care about the animals and want to help. That made a huge difference for me. They kept me updated the whole time through WhatsApp, which made everything really easy and gave me peace of mind. I also walked from the border to the clinic (about 20 minutes), and it felt safe the whole way. I was able to take breaks when needed, so it wasn't bad at all. The clinic itself is clean and secure with its own gates, which also made me feel more comfortable. Overall, I'm really glad I chose to come here and would definitely recommend it to others considering it. read more

Brought both of our yorkies in for a dental cleaning and couldn't be happier with the results! We crossed the border for treatment due to it being way too expensive in the U.S. we paid a fraction of the cost it would have cost back home. At this point I have been here twice. I had a great experience. I went initially for a dental cleaning for my dog. As you can see, he is not too big but not small and the price for everything was around 320 dollars. He had a tooth extracted and needed medicatio.. It was cheaper than in LA. The service was great too. I called a couple places to get some quotes and they are not the cheapest in the area but they are near the border, responsive, clean, and they have parking. Not to mention the veterinarian is a young woman and her attentiveness and knowledge were much appreciated by my doggo. She was clear with the instructions I should follow and observations. Highly recommend. 10/10 (The other time I took my friend and she took 2 dogs. Small dogs and paid about 500. No tooth extractions needed. ) read more

Hospivet - My happy dog. TOBERMAN - Veterinarians Near Me - Tijuana, BCN

I take my 3 dogs here. Initially I was skeptical about getting services for my doggies in a foreign country but I took a chance since their reviews were great. Two of my dogs had teeth cleaning services under anesthesia and recovered well. Their services are reasonably priced for Tijuana. I never feel like they are trying to offer services I don't need. Sometimes they overestimate what my dogs need and end up telling me they didn't need them which I appreciate. The service is friendly and their location is very close to the border. I love that I can make an appointment through text on their whatsapp. Also 2 of my dogs see the cardiologist which I believe is not a service directly from Hospivet but a third party. Nonetheless the services are cheap (roughly $200 for echo and EKG) per dog. Overall I'm very happy with them. read more

Amazing vet with excellent bedside manner. We have used their services for many of our dogs and have always had the most excellent care.

I came across the border and I needed to get my new rescue dogs teeth cleaned, and a tooth pulled. Not only were they careful by doing bloodwork prior to make sure that he was healthy enough to be put under anesthesia but when I came back to do the procedure, they were welcoming, informational, and kept me up-to-date after he was out of surgery. On top of that, it cost a fraction of a price charged in the states and their service level is a 10 out of 10. I recommend these people and their services to anyone. read more

A few months ago, I noticed a second lipoma forming on my 11 year old shih tzu along with three small skin tags. At the time, they were small and her regular vet here in San Diego said not to worry and that they don't need to be removed unless they start getting larger or causing her discomfort. Fast forward to late last month after I had my dog groomed. I noticed that the lipoma and skin tags stood out quite a bit so I decided to contact Hospivet to have the necessary bloodwork and surgery done. I scheduled my dog's bloodwork via phone and drove to Hospivet a week later to have blood drawn. Her surgery was scheduled for two weeks after that (which was 2 days ago). Each time, I got a reminder call about the appointment (which I appreciated). While the surgery was being performed, I grabbed some lunch with my wife and brother in law and did some shopping with them. When we finished, we drove back to Hospivet and waited a short time before receiving a call that she was ready to go home. When my dog was brought out, she was wagging her tail and we drove straight home (thank goodness for Sentri!). Thanks again Hospivet and Dra. Alejandra for taking care of Molly! Look forward to seeing you soon for her stitch removal and vaccinations. read more

I'd give 100 stars if I could. Faced with a dog who was almost 17 and what I knew mostly likely was a nasal tumor I did my research and found HospiVet. We drove down from Los Angeles parking on the SD side and walked over the border. I was def nervous as I knew my boy would need to undergo anesthesia for the test he needed. I had had a vet in LA for many many years but, most recently, the quality of care (after the vet office upgraded and transferred to new ownership) took a BIG dive. Of coarse the prices subsequently went way way up. What I found in HospiVet was the quality of care and "caring" that my old vet used to provide when they were in a less posh office hole in the wall and only about 5 people worked there. But, honestly, HospiVet was better. Dr Sara the anesthesiologist and care coordinator is one of the most kind and empathic people I've ever met. It is obvious how much she loves animals. She took the time to explain EVERYTHING in detail to me. She even showed me the rhinocoscopy videos and other cases she has worked with who had a similar issues. It set my mind at ease knowing there were alternatives for what will most likely be what ends my sweet boys life. At the moment he is still here and enjoying it so we are concentrating on that. But I feel incredibly blessed to have found HospiVet at this critical moment. I wanted to share this for any other pet parent who is on the fence. You will be provided with the highest quality of care. Not just for your pet but for you as well. Thank you everyone at HospiVet. read more

I can't recommend this vet enough. After my dog, Lottie, found and chewed up a box of staples and managed to swallow a few, I was scrambling calling just about every vet in Southern California to find someone who could remove them for a price I could afford. The vet I initially rushed her to for her diagnosis, wanted over $2,000 just to keep her there overnight and see if she passed them, and then wanted another $6,500 for removal surgery! I couldn't possibly pay that, and the lowest quote I could find anywhere in LA county was $2,500 - $3,500. I almost settled for that but after a friend's suggestion, I decided to look at reviews for vets in Tijuana and make some calls. Hospivet was able to squeeze my girl in for an endoscopy at 9am the next morning. We made a quick road trip and she went in at 9am and was back out staple free by 3:15! The staff was unbelievable kind and reassuringly thorough with their briefings. They all speak English and Spanish, which was very helpful. I even asked them to throw in the 2 vaccines she was overdue for while she was under, and they did! My pup loved them as well, despite being terrified at the other vet. All in all, after exam fee + bloodwork + X-rays + meds + 2 vaccines, the total came out to $556!!! I can't express what a difference they made in our lives and I am so, so thankful from the bottom of my heart. We will be driving down immediately if we ever have any emergencies in the future. I took my 8 year old pug mixed for a dental cleaning and tooth extractions. She has been having that garlic breath for a while and was having pain in her mouth. I was not going to go bankrupt paying for the Vet here in the U.S. so I decided to cross the border for her. I found this place on Yelp and saw it has good reviews. I called and made an appointment but you contact them through Whatsapp. I dropped her off in the morning and picked up later that afternoon. I was worried about the risk of putting my dog under anesthesia however I was relieved when the vet examined her and took her blood to make sure she would be okay for the procedure. All was good. When I picked her up, I very was pleased to see her fully awake and energized which indicated me that her dental cleaning went well. I would definitely go back there. Also my cat had an ingrown toenail that was almost $900 here quoted in my local town got that done for a fraction of the price. I'm very happy and can say with confidence that they are a great veterinary Hospital. I even had to leave my dog and feel completely safe going back in a few days to pick up my dog looks perfectly fine when I left. I'm so happy thank you for all your help.
