Best experience ever. Eugenio took really good care of my girl and kept me updated through the whole trip. The rest of the team helped through text as well keeping me updated and making the process smooth. The affordability and professionalism and care was beyond anything I have experienced in a long time. Highly recommend.

Thank you Eric for sending me updates of Gucci!

The BEST experience -- truly life-saving service I was so scared to trust strangers with my baby Gucci for his dental surgery, but MexiVet was beyond amazing from start to finish. The entire experience was only $650 (transportation, tip for the drivers, dental cleaning, 2 extractions, full blood panel, x-rays, meds), and the level of care we received was honestly priceless. The staff were so kind, communicative, and genuinely pleasant to talk to. They sent me updates throughout the whole day which eased so much of my anxiety. You can tell they really care about the animals. The drivers were absolutely wonderful. Eric went above and beyond to make both Gucci and me feel safe and comfortable. Thank you, Eric, for sending me pictures and videos of Gucci during the ride -- seeing him smiling with you meant everything to me. And Daisy, thank you for talking so sweetly to all the animals while they waited for their pet parents. I could tell Gucci felt safe with you both, and that means the world to me. If you're in San Diego and considering using this service, I cannot recommend MexiVet ENOUGH. They should honestly get an award for providing such high-quality, affordable vet care. Truly good people doing incredible work. I will absolutely be coming back for any future needs, and I'll be recommending MexiVet to all my friends and family.

We adopted an adult dogo Argentino during Covid and have spent a small fortune on him. Now he's 10 and has tumors. One was on his hind leg and we were afraid it was gonna impact his walking. On a budget I started researching on Reddit & found Mexivet express. We have now used them several times. First time only did teeth cleaning. Then went back for the surgery, etc. It's an interesting experience. It's not a luxury service. I think the business is built of people who love animals. Anna and her staff do their best to communicate but sometimes they're busy and we have to be patient and proactive. To me it's worth the hassle of following up on texts and calls because I save a lot of money. I think with small stuff (teeth cleaning etc) you save half. But with big surgeries and long recoveries I know I would have spent 10x in US. After my dog had his tumor removed he spent 5-7 days there to recover. When he came home he ruptured his stitches and popped out staples. He's old and not active but he's huge and heavy and the region of the tumor was prone to stress. I asked my two US vet friends, they said it happens a lot. After my dog ruptured his wound I had to send him back, which of course is not only more money but a hassle because u have to drive to SD to meet the drivers. But well worth it. He spent another 2-3 weeks at the vet in Mexico. Anna really cares. When they switched him to an even more surgery-centered hospital, I wasn't getting daily pics because they're more busy. Anna was trying to fight for me for more pics and info. She's very big hearted. I can tell. Mexivet express is just the point of contact and drivers but they're advocating for your animal in Mexico. It's nice!! Side note, My dog is huge/heavy and the drivers lift him by hand to their car and back down to me. I tip them just because they are saving me old lady back pain. I'm writing too much but hope it helps someone! Would use them again!

MexiVet is the BEST service ever. I was worried about having my cat Sammy go to Mexico for cleaning but after seeing ALL the amazing reviews and then I talked to a friend who had actually used them twice for her dog I gave them a try. I literally could not be more impressed with the communication, service, the price! You name it and it was great. They treated my cat Sammy so well and took great care of him. They sent pictures and videos of the facility and Sammy while he was there. The driver Eric who transported Sammy was so sweet and kind. I was so delighted with that kind of detail and love given to my fur baby. The doctor called me and we had a long detailed comprehensive talk about procedure and everything went great. She had a great bedside manner and made me feel very comfortable and I felt that Sammy was in the very best of care. I will certainly be using this service and this doctor again in future for any of Sammy's veterinarian needs! I highly HIGHLY recommend and the savings going to Mexico is so very worth it, you won't be disappointed!

**I'm writing this review to help other pet owners who might be hesitant about cross-border veterinary services. I had concerns too, but desperately needed affordable dental care for my boxer Luna, who has a pre-existing heart condition requiring daily Sotalol.** [ TL;DR: Outstanding experience with Mexivet's coordination and communication! Their partner clinic XOX Pets provided excellent care. Highly recommend! ] The Process: Scheduling online was straightforward - you select services needed and receive pricing via email. After paying a $50 deposit, you get pickup details (Mission Valley, 7-8am window for us). Home pickup/dropoff is also available. Required documents: rabies vaccination proof and microchip number (microchipping available in Tijuana if needed). Pre-Appointment: Submit intake forms and medical records - Mexivet forwards everything to the Tijuana vet. We cleared Luna's heart medication with her UC Davis cardiologist beforehand. Despite fasting requirements, we were permitted a small amount of food with her medication and CBD treat (verify this with your assigned vet first!). Day of Service: Driver Eric was fantastic - professional, reassuring, and sent regular photo/video updates. Luna was picked up at 7:35am with 3 other dogs and 1 cat. After collecting all pets, they departed for Tijuana around 8:15am. Luna arrived at XOX Pets around 9:30am for her dental cleaning under anesthesia. The Veterinary Care: The consultation call at 10:45am was thorough. XOX Pets staff spoke perfect English and expertly addressed Luna's pre-existing condition. The deep dental cleaning was exactly what she needed - her previous non-anesthetic cleanings at Kahoots only lasted 2-3 weeks before her breath returned to smelling fishy. The vet provided detailed post-care instructions and medications. You'll pay your invoice via the same portal you used to pay the deposit. Don't forget to tip your drivers! Return Trip: PM driver Jorge maintained excellent communication and sent updates. One prescribed medication wasn't in stock, but Mexivet offered courier service to check other area vets (turned out I already had it at home). Pets departed Tijuana around 7PM, arriving back in San Diego by 7:50PM. Results: Luna was appropriately groggy from anesthesia but recovered perfectly overnight. The next morning she was back to her normal, happy self with noticeably cleaner teeth! Tips for Other Pet Owners: - Have all medical records ready to share - Stay calm during dropoff - pets pick up on your anxiety - Prepare soft food for return home - Trust the process - I know this one is hard, but the communication and care exceeded expectations Dogs are incredibly intuitive and will mirror your emotional state. If you're visibly stressed, pacing, or speaking in worried tones, your dog will sense something is wrong. STAY CALM. Other nervous owners will be there too, and the collective anxiety can be contagious for the pets. If you see your dog getting worked up by another anxious animal, try to create some distance while waiting. Cost savings were significant compared to local options, and the quality of care was exceptional. Would absolutely use Mexivet again!

Happy girl thanks to MexiVet and Patas Felices!

Amazing experience with Mexivet to get surgery for a mass removal for our dog Mira. Very reasonable pricing and super transparent with everything from start to finish. They really take care of your pets and assure you throughout it all. Anna and her team are extremely kind and really care about the pets. They coordinate and communicate with you to set everything up sooo efficiently! Our dog Mira was taken to Patas Felices and they were amazing as well! Would highly highly recommend MexiVet and Patas for anyone considering!

But our most recent experience was enough to make us leave for good. We had a same-day appointment for my dog's injured paw. We were running late, got a voicemail from the clinic, and called back. We were told we could still come in but would be charged a $39 late fee or $85 to reschedule. We showed up anyway -- and were made to wait over an hour before being seen. When my boyfriend asked to have the fee waived, they refused and told him it was because we had a "no call, no show" on record from over a year ago. We have zero recollection of ever missing an appointment, and when I checked my email and texts, there is no record of any notification about a no-show. Yet that was used to justify denying any grace on a $39 fee for long-term clients who showed up and waited over an hour. I get that clinics use late fees to hold clients accountable -- that's fair. But we are long-term clients who, to our knowledge, have never missed an appointment. No exception was offered until I said I wouldn't be coming back, at which point they suggested I could maybe speak to a manager to get it refunded. At that point, I was over it. A $39 fee is not worth losing loyal, multi-pet clients over. Life happens. Good businesses know that. We won't be back

Over the…read moremany hours dealing with my own dog I've watched, seen, spoke to countless other patients and of course the Vets and staff. It's a large practice with ER Vets without ER prices. This is going to be a long review. My dog had an autoimmune disease that makes his body attack platelets. Basically without them you're going to die. Steroids and other immune suppressants are given in high doses which suppresses the immune system and can result in infections. My dog ended up one day collapsing out of the blue, no warning, no swelling the night before, and now a massive arm overnight. We rushed him down and it was a septic staph infection. A septic staph infection without a functioning and highly supressedimmune system in a 12 year old dog. Over two days Buddy's arm was drained and flushed under general anesthesia as subsequent infection pockets popped up . A culture was taken but we wouldn't know the results for days. Two broad spectrum antibiotics were picked from their experience and what they were seeing, a highly educated assumption of what would most likely work with the infection. Well, one of them was the correct choice and my dog that would most likely die didn't die. I might add that there ended up only being a few medication that the infection was susceptible to, and they picked again the right one. My dog at this point was very high risk after everything that happened to him especially due to his long term high dose Prednsione use that had deteriorated his body. He was a shell of the dog he use to be and had even gotten steroid induced Cushings. I couldn't put him through the steroids anymore and after the infection had subsided his platelets started to rapidly decrease again. B Street granted him his only chance of survival, a splenectomy. He not only made it through the surgery but immediately went in to remission. Since NOV 8th he has had a platelet count above 600k. Because Buddy is Buddy his liver enzymes went through the roof post splenectomy (hospitalization levels) and they chose the perfect concoction of medications including Urdosoil, mik thistle, and NAC which worked. His enzymes were so high it took nearly a month to get out of the severe danger zone, but he did. Four months later they are on the high end of normal with two still decreasing but of no worry. Dr. V at last recheck called them "boring", I like boring test results. Staff: every single person is not only excessively talented but good people. I'm not naming people because there are too many that are phenomenal and I feel like I will leave someone out and feel bad about it. I'm not a sunshine and rainbows person, I'm generally pretty negative (something I'm working on). This place is the only place I trust, that's it. A few reviews mention wait times. I never see this talked about...B Street is a trauma center with non-trauma prices, actually incredible prices. They are great with every day worries and treat animals with gastrointestinal, skin issues, normal every day concerns but if a dog or cat had a seizure, hit by a car, not able to breathe, etc. it's all hands on deck and that dog or cat is rushed in. This isn't a "normal" Vet this is where you go if you are okay with waiting and want your dog or cat to have the best care they possibly can have. I know going in there that I'm going to most likely wait and with every incredible thing I've seen here I will wait as long as I need to. Starbucks down the street is my best friend and I've worked in the Vet's office with my laptop countless times. People go here because they know how great the Vets are, the staff, just everything. I also saw a post where someone said they didn't spend time with the Vet. I don't get this unless you're expecting a 30 minute conversation about a routine everyday issue. I understand that everyone has likes when dealing with a Vet and if you want that private room, with the in depth conversations about basic things, where there are two dogs in the lobby, this place may not be for you. While I personally like all those things myself I would rather go to the place where they have the best vets and staff in SD who can handle everything from basic to emergency and don't miss things like they do at other Vets. If I haven't mentioned this yet they are open 7 days a week and on most holidays as well. If your dog needs surgery, a second opinion, has standard needs, or you're ready to move Vets check out B street. These aren't just my opinions, I've spoken to countless others with dogs and cats who feel the same way I do. They won't go anywhere else.

UNACCEPTABLE AND HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE. I brought my puppy to…read moreB Street Veterinary Clinic because he had been experiencing diarrhea for several days. During the visit, the clinic suggested doing a simple sanitary clean-up around the rear area to help keep him clean while he was sick. I agreed to a small trim in that specific area only. Instead, my puppy was returned to me with large portions of his back and tail completely shaved, along with RAZOR BURNS and visible spots of BLOOD. For anyone familiar with Pomeranians, this is extremely concerning. Pomeranians have a delicate double coat, and shaving large sections of their coat can seriously affect how their fur grows back. My dog already struggles with slow and uneven fur regrowth, which the clinic was aware of. There was absolutely no reason to shave half of his back and tail for a sanitary clean. When my dog stands or walks, the damage is extremely obvious. The shaved patches are far larger than anything that was discussed, and his skin looks irritated from the clippers. Seeing my puppy like this was heartbreaking. I literally burst into tears when they brought him out. I paid over $500 for tests and medications during this visit, and this is the condition my puppy was sent home in. I trusted B Street Veterinary Clinic with my dog's care. What happened today was NOT what I consented to and completely UNACCEPTABLE for a professional veterinary clinic. I am sharing photos so other pet owners can see exactly what happened during what was supposed to be a routine sanitary trim. Pomeranians require extra care with their coats, and situations like this should NEVER happen during a routine sanitary clean.

Sassy is a chunky snowshoe breed, 10+ years old. Her previous owner passed away from Covid, and she became part of my family in 2023. In 2025, I was devastated to learn that she has Stage 4 renal disease. Her liver is failing, and without proper treatment, her life would have been cut short. Dr. Karen Kurowski and her incredible team--Lindsey, Nate, Sunny, Hyda, and the other compassionate vet techs--have been a lifeline. They gave me a clear plan to follow, supported me with each step, and have truly helped sustain Sassy's life. She is now on the right medications, and I give her fluid injections every other day as her "second kidney." Because of their care, Sassy has been able to live not just longer--but better. What I love most about this hospital is that it feels less about money and more about what's right for the animal. Veterinary care can be expensive, especially when you have multiple cats like I do. But here, I have always felt they try to keep costs reasonable and make sure I'm not overwhelmed. They are honest, practical, and thoughtful--always focusing first on the well-being of my pets. That kind of integrity means the world to me. Today, Sassy is thriving in her "fourth quarter." She doesn't know she is ill. She lives with joy, gratitude, and happiness every single day. It is my honor to care for her, and it is thanks to Dr. Kurowski and her team that she is enjoying this chapter of her life so fully. For anyone looking for a veterinary office that combines expertise, compassion, and fairness, Scripps Ranch Veterinary Hospital is that rare place. I will always be grateful to them for the care and love they've shown Sassy--and me.

My best friend, Rocco Taco (my…read more9-year-old Amstaff) has been battling jaw cancer, and as many fur parents can imagine, going through this with your first dog is incredibly hard. There's something really painful about needing monthly refills and managing his medication. It's a reminder that he's sick. I find myself avoiding the task altogether sometimes, and despite that, their team always meets me with so much grace. Being able to text them and get a quick response makes everything feel more manageable. Even when I reach out last minute for his pain medications, which is often, they always find a way to accommodate me and get what he needs as quickly as possible. The understanding and compassion they show, even when I know I should give more notice, truly means so much. Thanks, Coastview.

However, since the departure of Dr. Pizzo and Dr. Schultz, the level of care has plummeted. Despite a visit just two months ago, the current doctors refuse to return a phone call regarding new travel related issues, insisting on a paid Telehealth visit for even the simplest medical advice. It is heartbreaking to see a once compassionate office turn into a money mill where long term clients are treated like a transaction rather than a patient. This office has lost its heart and is clearly focused on profit over patient care. I am truly disappointed and sad to be leaving a practice I once loved.

I've heard about some Veterinarians who tend to pad their bills with extra services and items, but until this visit I hadn't really experienced it. We brought our older (and basically healthy) dog in today because she was sick on Thursday (vomiting food & water). She felt better on Friday and today, but we brought her in anyway to get checked out. Cue the huge bill! The original estimate on the high side was $1300, and we had them lower that estimate by a few $100 by removing a couple of services including xrays. Then after she'd been there for a few hours, they indicated that she needed more tests to the tune of nearly $1000. We had them do most of them, but not all. As I'm writing this on Sunday, Cali is feeling much better, she's now on a low-fat diet, and the tests that they did all turned out negative. (We're still waiting on the results of the urinalysis.) Thank goodness, but jeez... They also negatively impacted my bank account. I'm glad my dog is feeling better, and she's worth any cost honestly, but I sincerely feel that some of things they did were not necessary, and didn't need to be done this time, or could have been pushed forward and a determination about their necessity could've been made after we made some changes and monitored her. It is what it is at this point, but I just suggest that you pay close attention to the estimates and bills at this Vet Hospital, and knowing your pet, make the right decisions for them, whatever they may be.
