Sadly, our much beloved 16-year-old kitty, was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Paws Into Grace, specifically Dr. Derek, made the entire experience of helping her to cross the rainbow bridge as comfortable as possible during a very emotional time. He was thoughtful, compassionate and professional. He didn't rush anything and this made it a little bit easier, knowing I had made the right decision for Catrina. read more

On the advice of a friend, I chose Paws into Grace, which turned out to be a great choice, Dr. Benson helped me put down my dog Linus. I thought she was outstanding - her bedside manner and demeanor were perfect for me. This may sound strange, but she didn't say a whole lot, though she was very clear about the process and what she was about to do through every step. I was deep in thought most of the time and didn't really want to talk. Maybe Dr Benson "read" that, or maybe that is just how she is, but either way it was perfect for me. I really can't say enough good things about the whole process. read more

After some research, my husband and I chose Paws Into Grace to put our cherished dog Kindle down. He was dying of natural causes and heart failure and we could not see him suffer. Almost 13 years with this special Aussie was not enough time. He will not only be remembered by us, but by those he touched over the years. So many memories. He was an entertainer at Yelp gatherings, Petco Park events (we had the opportunity to participate in the very first box seats in the Barkyard at Petco Park) to winning contests at the Gaslamp Holiday Pet Parade. Dr. Derek performed home euthanasia on our beloved pet. He gave some tips on how to handle our other pet who may be missing thier partner in crime. He was patient and kind. We stayed with our pet to provide comfort and to say goodbye, which is never an easy process. Grief is a funny thing that sneaks up on you at random times but you must go through it and not around it. Kindle has passed over the rainbow bridge. We will miss him greatly. You never know until your animal is gone how much space they really took in your life. Love and light sweet pup. We will await our ashes in a cedar box with paw print and fur. #PawsIntoGrace #Escondido #Kindle #Aussie read more

A . D A Y . U N L I K E . A N Y . O T H E R Today began like any other day. The usual routines, the regular chores, the unusually large coffee. But on this day, something seemed so incredibly cruel. I knew that I was greeting you, my beloved fur family member for the very last time. Only a short while ago you were that cute bundle of energy being chased around the house with a shoe or a wallet or a piece of junk mail in your mouth. You never met a soul, a treat, or a ball you didn't like. Slowly, then all of a sudden... I noticed you wearing down. Sometimes I had to lift you into or out of the car. You no longer wanted to chase the squirrels or bark at passers-by or walk as far as you used to, but that's OK. The love between us was strong and never wavered. In good times and bad. You never cared if I was cranky or stressed or tired. You were my best friend no matter what. My heart hurts because your favorite spot on the floor is now so cold and empty. When it's time to say goodbye, everybody has the same doubts: are we doing the right thing? How can anything be more difficult than to weigh your need for peace against our own need to hold on. But we accept this pain so that it can end yours. And in an instant, your struggle to move and breathe turned to calm. My sweet baby boy. You were ours for a little while, and Heaven is so lucky to have you now. Pro tip: Dr. Derek of Paws Into Grace provided a warm, loving, and dignified end-of-life service for our Aussie. His support, empathy, and kindness was much appreciated on this day unlike any other. read more

On July 1st, my beautiful cat of 20 years - Smitty - passed away in our home from old age. It was a really difficult time. The next day, I contacted Paws into Grace. I spoke to someone who took me through the steps and costs of cremation. I brought Smitty in, and I was met by Kayla. Kayla was very friendly and warm. She understood exactly what it meant to lose not just a pet, but a member of the family. She had just the right words. She explained the process and showed me some urns to choose from. We were given time in a separate room where Smitty could be comfortably laid out and we could just be with him to say our goodbyes. My other half and I cried and cried, but we knew it was Smitty's time - 20 years is a long time for a cat. But he was loved. And he loved us. I recognize that Paws into Grace is a business, but they do not make you feel that way. They provide pure empathy. Kayla even reached out later to offer a little extra item to make our cremation package all that more special. Though I did not see every moment of the process, I feel it in my bones that Smitty was cared for and treated respectfully through its entirety. He is gone, but he still always with us. read more

This group of people are the most genuine and caring people at the worst time, when you have to say goodbye to your beloved pet. They helped our princess Lollipop cross in 2024 and needed them again for our boy of Joy Cashew this time. Like with Lolli, the vet that came to the house was incredibly sensitive which helped us through this unbearable event to our hearts. When we were able to pick up the ashes and our boy's paw print & vial of hair, the girl was very sweet, kind & understanding which helped us through it. They have so many special ways to honor your pet, even jewelry made with ashes. Bless this group for doing what they do and how sensitive and kind they do it to help others through this. read more

Called to have my dog euthanized. Cost including cremation was almost 1000.00. Before I booked my dog passed. Called for pickup and cremation and they told me it would be 900.00! Almost the same price as having the vet euthanize. How is this fair or possible when the original quote had over 400.00 in vet services? Just them being greedy and taking advantage of a grieving person. Shame on you read more

Paws Into Grace made one of the hardest days our family has ever faced a little more peaceful. The veterinarian came to our home and was compassionate, professional, and took the time to explain every step of the process. They spoke gently to our entire family, even acknowledging and helping our new puppy understand what was happening. We never felt rushed and were given all the time we needed to say goodbye to Sheriff. I am deeply grateful for the kindness and dignity they showed during such a heartbreaking moment, and I would highly recommend their services. read more

No one ever wants to have to do this... but Paws into Grace made the process as easy as possible. Once we made the difficult decision, I went online and made an appointment. The instructions say to call to confirm so I did that and was able to get a better time that wasn't reflected in the online appt scheduler. The vet that came to our house was super nice and explained the process to us in detail. She also made sure we were comfortable with every step before taking it. We really appreciated her efforts. She was so gentle with him (and us). The pick up process is easy as well. We received a text a couple weeks later notifying us our beloved dog's ashes were ready for pick up. If you have to euthanize your pet, I recommend Paws into Grace as they were so caring and helped make this terrible thing slightly less terrible read more

It has taken me almost a year to write this review because I am still heartbroken over the sudden loss of my baby boy cat, Kitty Boots 007, on December 30th, 2025. He was only 7 years old and he was a very special cat; he walked on a leash, did tricks, and purred like a helicopter. He was a stray that i took in at about 1 year old. For anyone who has to go through the most painful experience of losing a pet, I wholeheartedly recommend this business. Everyone was so compassionate and patient, especially when I was non-stop crying on the phone. They understand how difficult this is, and they are very tender and supportive. To anyone reading this, I am so sorry for your loss or upcoming sad decision... but trust Paws into Grace. They truly care. read more

It's been two weeks since my dog came back to me from Paws into Grace. It was a sudden loss that I was grateful for this company to have a time slot last minute for my family. However, there were some not so great things or improvements they should consider. Initial call with the lady to schedule was alright. She honestly didn't cover much of information, I felt like I had to ask her a lot of questions that she initially didn't mention. If she can slowly just go over from start to finish, it would've eased my mind a little bit more during this horrible time. In details... I know this is a business, but also this isn't something people go through every year (hopefully). The doctor came and she was very understanding of the situation. It felt like she was genuinely sorry for what we were going through as she also lost hers not long ago. I do wish that she would've stepped outside the house to give me little more privacy, but it is what it is. Im sure I could've asked. She did her best in the circumstances. Now, the worst part of this experience was the picking up the ashes. It took me 1 hour round trip to get there and it took 2 seconds to get her back and leave the place. The lady came out with a brown bag and hurried me out the door. I honestly didn't know what to expect, but that wasn't it. I was dumbfounded of like what just happened? Can I at least take a moment to open the bag to see what's all inside? Take a moment to just take it all in that I'm picking my child up as ashes? It felt like 'ok, you paid me, now you can go' vibe. It would've been nice to just take a moment instead of being rushed out. Also not sure why they don't offer drop off, I know a lot of people would pay extra for that so at least they are home when they receive the ashes back and go back to cry all they want at home. I really do appreciate what this company does, but there are something that need some improvements. read more

We knew our boy Moose, whom we had since he was 3-5 years old who was now 15-17 needed Paws into Grace. It's not what we wanted (him gone) but it was the right thing to do since he had become ill and wasn't wanting to eat. In contacting them over the phone and sharing our situation, the attendant was extremely responsive and empathetic to our situation. As the date got closer, our poor boy declined quicker and we even had to move the date up. The company was super flexible and understanding and we were grateful they were able to accommodate this move to two days earlier. When the day came, we were certainly sad. When Dr. Benson arrived, she was soft spoken and kind. She greeted Moose and as soon as he noticed someone had walked in he got up and wagged his tail the best he could. This scene brought me to tears because that was the essence of who Moose was as our pet. He loved ALL humans and was always seeking their attention. Dr. Benson pet Moose and gave him love and affection. He received it and then went to his bed shortly after. She explained the process to us from start to finish. She was gentle in her wording and handling of every last detail. We set Moose up in one of his favorite sunning spots in the yard on his bed. And gracefully, Moose crossed over the rainbow bridge. We were given plenty of time to spend with Moose as the sedative worked and then after the final moments we were able to say our final goodbyes. The gentlemen who came to take care of Moose afterwards was soft spoken and extremely kind. He took care of Moose and left respectfully as he came. We are so grateful from start to finish how this went with our beloved boy. We will forever miss him. But the send off he was given will be forever a part of his journey. Thank you, Paws into Grace. I cannot express my gratitude for the staff here that were so compassionate after the sudden passing of my senior cat, Lady. Her passing came on very suddenly at an emergency vet clinic nearby and they were beyond helpful in helping arrange everything. When I arrived there was a specific bed that was awaiting her and she was handled with the greatest care when she was placed in it so we could say our final goodbyes. Her remains came back beautifully displayed and in a timely fashion. There was never any pushing towards a more expensive package than the one we chose which was also very deeply appreciated. The staff were compassionate, kind, and held a very sacred space for my little girl and for the people that loved her so much. Thank you all again from the bottom of my heart. They did a wonderful job with my 14 yo German shepherd. First time I was able to do this for one of my dogs when it wasn't a medical crisis - but at a time that was right. Dr. Campbell arrived at 9:00 AM, our appointment time, and gently helped my 19-year-old kitty to Rainbow Bridge as I held Toffee in my arms and said my final farewell to my precious baby girl. At home euthanasia was the most merciful and dignified way to honor her life and I am so grateful to Sr. Campbell and Paws into Grace for their service. My family was present in Toffee's last moments. The medication used assured us that Toffee didn't suffer. Sparing Toffee the trauma of a car trip to a crowded vet hospital allowed her journey to the Bridge to begin and end in the comfort of her home and family. I'm so grateful to Paws Into Grace. They are responsive, reliable and humane during one of the most painful processes a pet owner can go through. They were easy to get on the phone to schedule an appointment, they offer in-home euthanasia (which is a must in my opinion), and they offer aquamation which produces lower carbon emissions than cremation. They offer many different remembrance items to choose from and they own and operate their aquamation facility; ensuring the highest level of quality and assurance. Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is the hardest thing to do. I prefer the service that Paws into Grace provides as it allows us to peacefully say that difficult goodbye in our own home. Our beloved Kona was almost 16 years old & she'd had a long hard battle with Chronic Kidney Disease. She was also deaf, had dementia & was going blind. We didn't want her to be scared in those last moments of her long life. She was terrified of the vet and we didn't want to put her through that trauma. Paws into Grace was very accommodating & Dr. Paul Klaus was so compassionate & gentle with her. He made her very comfortable & allowed us & our other pets to say goodbye gracefully. Our experience was from December 2024. Losing your fur baby is so hard and we were dreading the day we would have to consider euthanizing our baby. During our dog's last few days, we did lots of research on in-home euthanasia and came across Paws into Grace. The last few days were filled with unknowns and quick decisions that needed to be made each day, sometimes each hour. During a difficult night, we reached out to Paws into Grace about potentially scheduling a euthanasia appointment. I didn't leave a VM at that time but they texted me back first thing in the morning to see how they could help. Our dog passed away in the following days so we ended up only calling to inquire about their cremation services but they were so responsive both times we reached out. When we spoke to them on the phone, they were so kind and sympathetic, took their time explaining all of the services they offered, and got us scheduled for a same day drop off. Drop off: They were able to get us in for a drop off at their San Diego office. Our entire appointment was private which we really appreciated. They have a separate office area with a different door which they used to handle pick ups during our appointment time. They walked us through the cremation service and allowed us to browse the different memorial items offered as an upgrade or for purchase. Kayla assisted us during this appointment and she was so incredibly kind and warm, making the painful process a little bit easier for me and my family. Cremation Services: They offer individual and communal cremation services and prices are based on your pet's weight. Their cremation service is done as a water cremation versus a fire cremation. The individual cremation price includes an urn, clay pay print, and fur clippings in a clear glass vial. The included urn includes a couple wood options as well as biodegradable options that are intended to be buried. They also had urn upgrade options including one with an insertable photo slot which we decided to upgrade to. The clay paw print is well made and has a strong imprint of our dog's paw. In addition to the clay paw print and fur clipping, we also purchased one of their many other memorial options including an acrylic stand with her nose and paw print and a paw print pendant made with her ashes. Pick up: They kept us updated on the status of our made-to-order memorial items and texted us when she was ready for pick up. We dropped her off in early December and they made it a point to get her to us before the holidays. The pick up was easy and everything was packed up in a nice gift bag for presentation. We are so grateful to Kayla and the Paws Into Grace team for making this difficult time a little bit easier, from knowing our fur baby was taken care of and cremated with care, to being able to commemorate her with the wonderful memorial items offered by Paws into Grace. read more

I've been in therapy since November 2021 because Dr Toni Calomfirescu came to my house supposedly to relieve my beautiful dog's pain (Sparky) from congestive heart failure, my husband and I thought Paws Into Grace was the best option to do it. Instead, this "doctor" made him suffer like he was in a torture bed, at some point through the process she said "oh I forgot this injection", meanwhile Sparky was crying without being able to move because she had already injected him with something that was making him very uncomfortable, after about 18 minutes when she realized she had made a mistake (we think she skipped the sedation) she then applied the rapid acting anesthetic, nobody has an idea of the suffering we had to watch our little Sparky go through, we all literally were put in a torture bed along with him. I'm still in therapy and haven't been able to recover. read more

UPDATE. The work and service they do is so thoughtful. Making a painful process more graceful. You can read my previous review about the process. This update was about the aftermath. After Chloe had passed I was told 2-3 weeks, closure to 3 weeks before I get her urn+ashes. They confirmed all the customizations I requested. Exactly 3 weeks I made contact (because I haven't heard about updates since the first week) and was told she was pending the engagement. I was hoping to get her back by Mother's Day but that didn't happen. Days later I made contact again and I think since I kept following up they started on the engravement that day and could pick her up. Basically, it took nearly 4 weeks to get her remains. The day I picked up her urn+ashes I made contact I was on my way. Upon arrival they displayed all their memorabilia offerings and there was alot I didn't realize because when picking out her stuff it's right after they pass and your too distraught to really "shop"). I plan to order more memorabilia. Waiting for me was a nicely packaged bag with Chloe's urn+ashes and the memorabilia I ordered. I cried!! It stung but at the same time it game me a sense of peace and closure. Her urn was beautifully crafted and all the customizations were there (picture slot, her name and some words engraved, an engravement outline of her face, and an engravement of her paw and nose. Ashes are in a sealed bag inside a very secured urn - along with a one of balls. I had asked to separate some ashes in 5 tiny bags so I can spread them at her favorite places (as I believe a piece of her belongs to the places that brought her so much joy and happiness). That was also done. And I asked for a cremation certificate in the event I relocate and need to take her ash on a flight and they provided a death certificate/cremation certificate. I had used one of the bags of ash to create a sterling silver Ocean Pendent custom jewelry. This is important to me - one thing my Chloe and I did was chase endless sunsets (it was our thing). Now, I'll be wearing this pendant when I chase sunsets and she will be closest to my heart. Thank you for doing what you do. It's really helped make a decision and transition a little less painful. read more
