Kirins Kennels, like in the name ARE kennels...but what sold us was Konas actual space she had...(i wish I took more pics) In her kennel she had an indoor space w/a bed, leading out to her own patio and down the ramp(pictured is a pretty decent chain linked enclosed dog run for her. she had neighbors so even though there no actual contact, she was not alone and isolated. When I called to schedule an appointment for my mini Sheepadoodle, I was questioned about why it had been five months since her last visit. She is still a puppy, I prefer to keep her coat longer, and I regularly bathe and groom her myself. I also clearly stated that she was not matted. However, upon arrival, the groomer immediately began checking her over as if expecting to find matting. She did not I then explained that I wanted her to maintain a sheepdog look while having her coat shortened slightly for the warmer weather. When I picked up my dog, she had been completely shaved down and nothing like what I had asked for. Even more upsetting, she appeared frightened and anxious. I have never seen her react this way after a grooming appointment. She stayed glued to my side the entire evening, which is very unlike her. The groomer chose the quickest option without regard for my instructions or my dog's comfort. I expected professionalism and care, and unfortunately received neither.

After my dog and I were so rudely greeted, I should have left! However, I explain what I want and it's not what I got. My dogs hair was completely SHAVED OFF!! Lazy groomer!! My two doodles will be going elsewhere. Just tell your costumers you will only shave doodles because it's easier for the grumpy, rude groomer!

I brought my Aussie, Cooper, here after he was bitten in the face by a rattlesnake. Of course it…read morewas 6PM on a Friday-- and they had antivenin on hand. He got excellent care, from the front desk to the prescribed lab work. Living in the backcountry this was my 4th experience with snakebite. I know what the costs are, and they were definite in line. Antivenin is VERY expensive (approaching $1,000 per dose), and has a short shelf life. Most vets don't have it in stock, and the Emergency vets are super expensive. Cooper spent the night. I got two calls from them updating me on his condition. He was stabilized and his labs came back good after the first antivenin injection. I picked him up the following afternoon. I am very grateful for the staff and the quick attention he received. My total cost was $3000. I know-- yikes. But like I mentioned, I've had 4 dogs snake bitten over the years. This was not unreasonable at all; I expected more based on those previous bite treatments.

I'm not really sure what sorcery goes on at the back of the house, but doggo doesn't flinch (unlike going to the vet) when I drop him off to get the usual. Folks are super friendly and they usually do well sticking to the quoted ready time. There were only a few hiccup one offs during his earlier visits, but it's been smooth sailing lately. I'm glad that they take great care of Little Brother while he is there and he is super excited when we pick him up, properly refreshed and all.
